Well, she pretended that the bath tub thing was not about Kim K and everyone believed her 🙄 Just one of the bad things she got away with doing ...
What else could people think the bathtub could possibly be about? The whole video is very specific and done with a clear purpose in mind. Right from her pretending to be a zombie rising from the grave and talking about having a name underlined in red. And the whole Kim story was very clear about her being tied up in the bathtub and being held at gunpoint. There were plenty of things she could have done to get her message of revenge across and she chose that. Also, people really need to stop making the whole thing worse than it was. Yeah I can totally see how that would be traumatic for her but the vast majority of the gp was on her side. Even Barack Obama took her side. Beyonce (who Kanye claimed to be speaking for) took Taylor's side and invited her on stage to give the speech Kanye interrupted. The reason the whole thing was dredged back up was because of the Famous video and even then she stoked the fire by not being upfront about that phone call. Yeah people went way too far on social media and I can see how awful that would be but she also had people defending her. She got to be on the Time cover after her SA trial. Fans were literally waving $1 bills to support her as a reference to how she sued the radio dj for a symbolic $1. I'm not saying she hasn't had to deal with a lot of the typical challenges that women in media have to deal with but even then compared to most other women, she's still had and continues to have a much better time of it. Just look at how Lana was snubbed (among many other female musicians) at the Grammys and then Taylor dragged her onto stage.
As far as the whole masters thing goes, that was a standard business practice and while you could argue the ethics of it, she is far from the only musician that has happened too and if anything, she has actually made it harder for other musicians because of the new law that was passed as a result of her actions and yet she's said nothing about that. On top of all that, rerecording the albums wasn't even her idea. It was Kelly Clarkson and we didn't find out about that until just recently.
So with all of that plus her behavior over the past few months, there is literally nothing that makes me see her as the victim or as some empowered girl boss. All I see is the most entitled, hypocritical and utterly shameless mean girl ever.
"What else could people think the bathtub could possibly be about?"
Babe, she had fancy magazines defending her :

From aspiration to deception
In today's digital age, it has become all too common for brands — both companies and celebrities — to visually alter their advertising campaigns and marketing content. A striking example is Kim Kardashian, the media and business mogul, who has admitted to hiring a private paparazzo since 2019 to take and edit photos of her at public events. This trend extends beyond marketing campaigns and magazine covers; it's now common for pictures of celebrities out and about to be altered as well. The widespread accessibility of editing tools, combined with their saturation across social media channels, is perpetuating an unrealistic beauty standard that profoundly affects the minds of young audiences. According to a 2021 survey of 200 teens ages 13 to 21 conducted by ParentsTogether, an organization focused on supporting families, young people who use beauty filters weekly are more likely to want to have cosmetic surgery and to alter their skin color. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the survey found that the more time teens spent on social media, the more likely they were to report being dissatisfied with how they look. This is particularly dangerous as we come to terms with the emergence of AI-generated images and deepfakes.
Tumblr media
It's crucial to recognize the difference between selling aspiration and promoting an unobtainable fantasy that borders on false advertising and fraud. In 2017, France passed a national law that required labels for digitally altered photos of models, mandating that any commercial image that has been digitally altered to make a model's silhouette "narrower or wider" must bear a declaration stating it had been "retouched." Similar measures should be applied in the U.S., particularly when it comes to social media posts. Just as social media channels now include grayed-out disclaimers with trigger warnings and additional context, posts featuring edited images should come with clear disclaimers indicating the potential doctoring of facial and body features. Implementing such disclaimers would help raise awareness about the prevalence of edited images and encourage more critical thinking among social media users.
Amidst this toxic culture of editing, Aerie has emerged as a trailblazer in promoting authentic and inclusive beauty standards. Since the mid-2010s, the brand has fearlessly embraced an unfiltered approach to its campaigns, showcasing its products on a diverse range of models with realistic body types. The AerieREAL campaign, which spans social media, advertising, influencer marketing, and beyond, is a testament to the brand's unwavering commitment to promoting body positivity and empowering women. The campaign's success is evident not only in its widespread acclaim but also in its tangible impact on Aerie's bottom line: since its launch in 2014, the brand has surpassed a billion dollars in sales, proving that authenticity resonates deeply with consumers. Over the years, the REAL campaign has evolved to encompass user-generated content, brand voices, and powerful initiatives. The brand has extended its messaging to the introduction of the "Real Good" line, offering comfortable and casual clothing and underwear that prioritize real comfort for real bodies. By seamlessly integrating the AerieREAL ethos into every facet of its brand identity, Aerie has set a powerful example for the industry, demonstrating that authenticity, inclusivity, and empowerment are not just buzzwords, but the key to building a loyal and inspired customer base.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As brands continue to shape beauty standards and influence young minds, it is imperative that they prioritize authenticity and promote realistic representations of diverse bodies. By implementing transparent disclaimers and embracing unfiltered campaigns, brands can play a vital role in fostering a more inclusive and empowering media landscape.

Happy Birthday Lady Gaga 🎉🍰🍾🥂
She was born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta but is known professionally as Lady Gaga. She is known for her image reinventions and musical versatility.
Having sold 124 million records as of 2014, Gaga is one of the world's best-selling music artists and the only female artist to achieve four singles that sold at least 10 million copies globally. Her accolades include 12 Grammy Awards, 18 MTV Video Music Awards, 16 Guinness World Records, awards from the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Council of Fashion Designers of America, and recognition as Billboard's Artist of the Year (2010) and Woman of the Year (2015). She has also been included in several Forbes' power rankings and ranked fourth on VH1's Greatest Women in Music (2012). Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2010 and 2019 and placed her on their All-Time 100 Fashion Icons list.
Her philanthropy and activism focus on mental health awareness and LGBT rights; in 2012, she founded the Born This Way Foundation, a non-profit organization aiming to empower youth, improve mental health, and prevent bullying. Gaga's business ventures include Haus Laboratories, a vegan cosmetics brand that launched in 2019.
Lady Gaga has stated many times how much she admired Freddie Mercury and Queen. Her performance style on stage hints at inspiration from Freddie Mercury. We all know Freddie hammered those ebonies and ivories and so does Gaga. She received piano lessons as a young girl but like Freddie, she plays by ear.
Freddie exemplified showmanship, and Lady Gaga does, too. Mercury theatrically danced and flourished by engaging with his audience. Gaga can be more stoic and picturesque, and her audiences love to sing along. They both make you feel as if you’re in the audience of a historical theater.
Freddie wore leotards and bright colors — disregarding conventional boundaries of gender and sexuality. Lady Gaga does much the same, but perhaps with a more haute couture flair.
When it comes to on-stage costumes, Lady Gaga never disappoints.
Lady Gaga, who wore her own take on the sequined jumpsuit on more than one occasion, is among those influenced by Queen, a band she said she “worshipped”; she followed Mercury’s fashion trends closely. She once said she “hoped Freddie Mercury would have thought I was great.”
On her stage name, Stefani said:
“I decided that I'd been playing under my real name for so long I wanted a new way to reinvent myself. So I said,'What about Lady Gaga?' because Gaga is sort of crazy and Lady has such connotations."
“I adored Freddie Mercury and Queen had a hit with Radio Ga Ga. That's why I love the name. Freddie was unique, one of the biggest personalities in pop music. He was not only a singer but also a fantastic performer, a man of theatre and someone who constantly transformed himself. In short, a genius!”
"I’ve always been Gaga ... I suppressed all those eccentricities about myself so I could fit in. Once I was free, I was able to be myself.”
While it's possible that she might revert to her real name down the road, for now, it's definitely Gaga.
You took your name from the Queen song “Radio Ga Ga. “What is your all-time favorite Freddie Mercury performance? (Far Out Mag)
“When he’s in the king’s outfit, with the scepter. Equating oneself with royalty is such a female thing to do. We dress up as princesses and queens and we wear crowns, but Freddie created this image of himself as rock royalty. That performance screams, “Watch me! I’m a legend!”
Roger Taylor even praised Gaga in an interview in 2019
“Lady Gaga is fantastic. I think there are lots of similarities between her and Freddie. She is an extraordinary woman. She does have a great voice, very musical. She is a great musician.”
Gaga collaborated with Brian May (who had electric-guitar duties) on her songs’ ‘Born This Way’ and ‘You & I,’ which just so happens to sample ‘We Will Rock You.’
She admitted to "Falling to the floor crying and laughing" when she found out that May agreed to the collaboration. A dream come true.
“I had a blast working with Lady Gaga, she’s very creative. She’s not just a singer, she writes her own material. She’s fantastic and very inspiring. She’s a very human person underneath all those layers. I love her, she’s great. The persona she’s built up certainly seems to be working.” ~ Brian May
Wishing you all the best Lady Gaga! 🎉🥂

Rants!
Dante/Raiden: This ship comes from the 2006 Playstation Magazine (PSM) issue 110 endpage drawn by comic artist Adam Warren (most known for his comic Empowered) depicting the hypothetical timeline where the PSM swimsuit special is replaced with a 600 page erotic “Dante/Raiden slash fanfiction.” In this panel Dante’s DMC2 design is shown above Raiden’s MGS2 design (notably the most hated versions of these characters at the time, though considering Warren’s feelings towards Dante and Raiden, this pairing was most likely shown to baffle the reader with a well beloved charactered and a much hated character doing something “humiliating” aka. participating in homosexuality). Dante says “Why can’t I quit yew,” a reference to brokeback mountain, and Raiden says “Please be gentle… like snake”
Obviously this panel is meant to be a joke at the expense of both women who write fanfiction, and gay people, made more clear by the second appearance of “Raidante” in Warren’s work, in which Dante is reading yaoi fanfic and remarks “As if I’d settle for someone as lame as Raiden if I was gay!” However, likely because he has never played Metal Gear, Warren fails to consider the thematic implications of this pairing, considering the narratives of each character.
Dante is a demi-human, ashamed of his demon heritage but forced to reconcile with it. To cope with this, he adopts the persona of a “badass devil hunter with a devil may care attitude” as a form of escapism. Because he cannot accept his nature, nor can he come to terms with his past trauma of demons killing his close ones, he remains in stasis and cannot form deep connections with others.
Raiden is human by nature, but was robbed of his flesh by the patriots. Raised a child soldier, he is emotionally stunted and has very little personality to call his own, resorting to grasping at the persona of “Solid Snake” and tacking on his mannerisms to fill what gaps are left in his development. Even after starting a new after the big shell incident, he relapses again into the ego-less being he was at the age of 10, proclaiming himself a weapon and throwing himself at danger and death in the belief that it’s his purpose.
Both of these people are fundamentally unable to connect with others, breaking all of their connections and distancing themselves both out of fear of getting hurt and genuine inability to retain relationships. They use violence and self sacrifice as substitute for meaning in their life, and degrade themselves to that of a sword. Then, when meeting someone who they recognize all their behaviors in, what would happen? Do their own tactics of isolation work on themselves? Do they cancel out, or override each other?
Adam Warren is too much of a coward to explore this concept in a 600 page fanfic, so I will.
Sesshomaru/Hojou: One of those crack ships that got kinda real for a minute in my little circle of fandom: just imagining fucking actual Killing Perfection Sesshomaru having this Totally mundane relationship with a guy who is just So well-meaning and So naive is both hilarious and kinda cute.
These two characters have no business being around each other but the idea of, like, this Hojou kid stumbling into Feudal Japan, mistaking it for a medical retreat his classmate goes to when she's out of school, and deciding to stick around to help the 'patients' there bc he's got a med background (his family owns a medical practice) and then being incredibly persistent with the most single-minded demon ever in history both makes me chuckle and also makes me wish this had actually been a subplot of the series.
(damn. I like this 👑)

Stick to being a ring girl
Dana White, UFC founder, once claimed that “women will never fight in the UFC”.
For a long time, the only presence women had in the UFC was as a scantily clad ring girl, signalling to the predominantly male audience which round of the fight was next.
Tumblr media
Not only do women fight now, but they also dominate the organisation. The likes of Ronda Rousey, Chris Cyborg, Amanda Nunes and Xiong Jing Nan have ruled the UFC. They have paved the way for other female fighters to be included in the main rosters alongside the male fighters and in some cases be the main event.
However, whilst women are now better respected in their field, seemingly the media does not view them in the same way. When male UFC athletes are portrayed, they appear as professional athletes (good at their sport and superior as athletes). For example, a search of male UFC fighters in the media reviews, a recent news story that describes the athletes as ‘dominant’ and ‘superstars’ who have had ‘more success than anybody else’ in the business. The news story is in admiration of the male athletes sporting prowess.
Tumblr media
In contrast, when a search is made of female fighters in the UFC the first title lists MMA fighters by ‘weight class and height’. This example illustrates how female fighters are subject to objectification and how their sporting prowess is often overlooked due to the magnification on their looks and body.
Women are commonly subject to objectification in the media; however, female athletes may have different perspectives on how they are presented. For example while some are opposed to female UFC bodies being exploited, potentially for the sake of the male audience, other female athletes such as Ronda Rousey, have a contrary perspective. When talking about showing off her body in the media, said:
“If I can represent that body type of women that isn’t represented so much in the media, then I’d be happy to do that. When women say that going on publications directed at men is somehow demeaning, I don’t think that’s true. I think that’s on really effective way to change the societal standards women are held to.”
Tumblr media
This suggests there may be a positive dimension to female UFC fighters’ bodies being displayed in the media as this can promote different body types to the wider population. Most females shown in high end fashion and other media, such as health magazines typically have one body type that is then idealised for women and by women. This link talks about the body types shown in the majority of the media and the effects that it can have on women, such as, developing eating disorders because they feel as though they should look like the unrealistic body standards shown in the media. Presenting females as athletic and muscular can be positive for the confidence of other women who may not have the typical, idealised body shown in the majority of the media.
As someone who practices martial arts, I have struggled with my body looking more muscular and not feeling as petite as some of my female friends. Representation of strong female fighters in the media personally makes me feel empowered. It is good to celebrate UFC fighters in the media, but the focus shouldn’t solely be on their bodies but also on their success as an athlete. When female bodies are represented in the media it should not be for the gratification of a male audience.
So, this leaves the question of, should we embrace female UFC fighters’ bodies being shown off in the media as this can empower the wider community? Or is there too much opportunity for female UFC fighters sporting prowess to be overlooked due to the focus on their figures?

People magazine recently announced this year’s Sexiest Man Alive, which makes it a great time to ask: Can we get rid of the whole tradition of People’s Sexiest Man Alive?
The annual cover is a lightweight honorific that worked its way into the public consciousness as way more legitimate than it actually is. Kind of like winning a Golden Globe.
Think about the inherent ridiculousness of declaring anyone the sexiest person alive. Sexiness, by its very nature, is subjective. So it’s a winky joke that People offers up its own tastes as if they are everyone’s. And by making their subject male, they’re tacitly saying: See, we’re not objectifying women, we’re so evolved. Men can be objects of lust too! Maybe that was (arguably) a subversive statement in the 1980s, when Playboy, Penthouse and other magazines imposed a misogynist ideal of sexiness at the newsstands. But now? Not so much.
And when you consider the enduring ubiquity of People, its insistence on shaping our taste in men feels less funny. The magazine’s tradition began in 1985 with a candidate whose appeal, I think we can agree, has not aged well: Mel Gibson, now infamous for his antisemitic rants. It’s worth noting that a bunch of SMAs subsequently made headlines for pretty troubling reasons.
The vast majority of People’s SMAs have been White, straight men with generic good looks. In its 37 years, the magazine has featured four (also chiseled and straight) Black men – Denzel Washington, Michael B. Jordan, John Legend and Idris Elba - and one biracial man, Dwayne Johnson.
Nobody is disputing these are handsome men (even ones who’ve proven themselves to be ugly on the inside). But their looks represent the narrowest sliver of the range of humanity.
Where’s the sexiness in that? As Tracy Moore wrote in Jezebel, “sexy is a construct, and unfortunately, in this world, it’s a very very very unimaginative, narrow, boring one that fails to address many sexy things and focuses on other, boring things that have been sexy for so long I’m willing to suggest right here they might have even lost some of their sexy.” As she points out, “we’re so conditioned toward the fake image that it has become normalized as Definitively Sexy.”
What if we just acknowledged there’s a huge spectrum of what people actually consider sexy in a man, without trying to fit the term into a one-size-fits-all container? Different people are attracted to different body types, different orientations, different presentations of gender. Some men look really good in dresses, just for example. By reliably announcing the same presentation of masculinity, over and over, as the BEST kind, this tradition of SMA is just shoring up the many ways that beautiful people are rewarded in countless ways in our culture.
As one study has noted, “people seem to assume that positive interpersonal qualities and physical attractiveness are systematically linked.” Arguing about the definition of what’s sexy may seem silly, but it has real-world implications for anyone who doesn’t live up to a rigid stereotype about what it is or isn’t. One 2020 study claimed that “compared with people of average attractiveness, the highly attractive earn roughly 20 percent more and are recommended for promotion more frequently.” In less stark economic terms, it stands to reason that reinforcing a status quo about what’s acceptably sexy makes people with differing views feel less empowered to be open about it.
Compared to newer titles, People can seem like a bit of a relic, but it’s the publication that jump-started the business of marketing celebrity to the public. It’s still available in plenty of waiting rooms the world over. So when people pick it up and see that another White, wealthy, successful, straight, American, able-bodied guy has been crowned The Sexiest, it reinforces the idea that everyone who deviates from that norm is inherently less than.
A study found that “People magazine had the largest audience in the United States in June 2022, with an average monthly reach of 81.35 million people.” It has the power to wave its pop-cultural wand and confer “sexiest” status on anyone it wants. (As one tweet put it: “Imagine if sexiest man alive had (been) a wheelchair user?”)
There’s real damage done when media continues to idealize masculinity in such a limited way. “The more men cling to rigid views of masculinity, the more likely they are to be depressed, or disdainful, or lonely,” wrote Monica Hesse in the Washington Post. The effect, quite possibly, applies to both reader and subject.
None of these problems with the title itself should cast any aspersions on this year’s SMA, Chris Evans, by all accounts a genuinely nice guy who’s long been interested in using his fame to advance good causes. But there’s an inevitable schtick involved in being anointed the SMA that he plays into: “‘The Gray Man’ star is also bracing for some good-natured ribbing from his close friends. ‘Really this will just be a point of bullying,’ he jokes. ‘It’s ripe for harassment.’” Actors who’ve participated in a lengthy photo shoot and interview and, one imagines, a lot of back-and-forth to arrange the whole thing, still have to do an aw-shucks-who-me affect about showing up for the gig.
Personally, I’d love to see an SMA give an interview where he talks about the increased wealth that comes with the title; what movie doesn’t want its leading actor to be an SMA? Or openly discusses the massive advantages he’s already enjoyed in his career thanks to being the kind of hot that mainstream pop culture considers acceptable. Or acknowledges the damage that can happen when the media insists on a retrograde definition of masculinity.
Now that would be sexy.

VEERENDRA HEGGADE: EMPOWERING RURAL WOMEN VISION THROUGH JNANA VIKASA AND SIRI
Tumblr media
In the heart of rural India, where women and children often face daunting challenges, a beacon of hope shines brightly through the visionary efforts of Veerendra Heggade. Recognizing the urgent need to uplift these communities, Dr. Heggade introduced special self-help programs like Jnana Vikasa and SIRI. These initiatives, coupled with the unwavering support of his wife, Mrs. Hemavathi Heggade, have brought about significant transformations, empowering women to live with dignity, self-respect, and economic independence.
Jnana Vikasa: Empowering Women Through Knowledge
Jnana Vikasa is a testament toVeerendra Heggade’s commitment to empowering rural women. The program focuses on equipping women with essential knowledge and skills through intensive training sessions. Covering areas such as housekeeping, sanitation, nutrition, and cottage industries, Jnana Vikasa empowers women to take charge of their lives and become self-reliant.
One of the key components of Jnana Vikasa is the establishment of Jnanavikasa Kendras, which serve as centers of socio-economic empowerment. Here, women gather for weekly sessions to share knowledge on health, family welfare, hygiene, and children’s education. Through these sessions, women not only gain valuable information but also find inspiration, confidence, and a sense of community.
The impact of Jnana Vikasa goes beyond just knowledge transfer; it instills a sense of pride, self-respect, and determination among women. By promoting savings habits, encouraging entrepreneurship, and fostering a culture of continuous learning, Jnana Vikasa has empowered countless women to break free from social constraints and pursue their aspirations.
SIRI Gramodyoga: Economic Empowerment Through Micro-Enterprises
Building on the success of Jnana Vikasa, Veerendra Heggade’s vision expanded to economic empowerment through SIRI Gramodyoga. This initiative focuses on creating sustainable livelihoods for rural women through micro-enterprises in the non-farm sector.
SIRI Gramodyoga, facilitated by Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP), provides training, infrastructure, and market linkages to women interested in starting their businesses. Skill training programs conducted by renowned institutes like SISI, CFTRI, and RUDSETI equip women with the knowledge and expertise needed to succeed in various sectors, including food processing, dairy, fashion, and more.

The Evolution of Successful Indian Businesswomen Leadership
The landscape of Indian business leadership is undergoing a transformation. In recent decades, this revolution in the business landscape is marked by the emergence of successful women leaders who are breaking barriers, shattering stereotypes, and reshaping the corporate narrative. With women taking center stage at an ever-increasing pace from boardrooms to startups, their influence is undeniable, shattering glass ceilings and redefining the very image of success.
The evolution of successful Indian businesswomen leadership is a testament to the changing dynamics of the country’s economy and society. Gone are the days when corporate leadership was predominantly male-dominated. Today, women are increasingly occupying leadership roles across diverse sectors, ranging from technology and finance to healthcare and manufacturing. From Humble Beginnings to Powerhouse Leaders:
The stories of successful Indian businesswomen are diverse, yet often share common threads of resilience, determination, and an unwavering belief in their capabilities. Many have overcome societal barriers and cultural norms that traditionally discouraged women from pursuing entrepreneurial or leadership roles. Armed with education, ambition, and the support of mentors and networks, they have carved their own paths, defying stereotypes and proving their mettle in competitive industries.
Paving the Way: Pioneers and Role Models:
The journeys of these trailblazers serve as powerful testaments to the possibilities that lie ahead. These women, along with countless others, have not only achieved remarkable success but also paved the way for future generations by inspiring and mentoring young women entrepreneurs. Their leadership exemplifies the diverse range of skills, talents, and perspectives that women bring to the table, enriching the business landscape and fostering innovation.
Beyond Individual Success: Driving Change and Transformation:
The rise of successful Indian businesswomen goes beyond individual achievements. It signifies a broader societal shift towards greater gender equality and inclusion. Women leaders are not only challenging traditional power structures but also driving positive change within their organizations and communities. They are championing diversity and inclusion initiatives, promoting work-life balance policies, and contributing to social causes, creating a ripple effect that benefits not just themselves but society as a whole. Challenges and Opportunities on the Horizon:
Despite the progress made, challenges remain. Gender pay gaps persist, access to funding and mentorship can be limited, and societal biases still exist. However, the growing number of successful female role models and the increasing focus on diversity and inclusion are creating a more empowering environment for women entrepreneurs and leaders. As India continues on its path of economic growth and development, the role of women in leadership will become increasingly crucial. By empowering women, promoting gender equality, and fostering a culture of inclusion and diversity, India can unlock the full potential of its talent pool and drive sustainable and inclusive growth in the years to come.
