I have an idea that involves Velvet and i wanted to ask you what you thought of it! :3

A few days after RWBY and Jaune return from the Ever After, Velvet notices that Jaune is keeping his distance from her, and she has no idea why. She asks all of Team RWBY and even Nora, Ren, and Oscar, but they don’t know why he’s doing it either.

She tells Coco about it and she immediately wants to figure it out and the two basically corner Jaune to get him to talk. He relents pretty quickly and says he’s doing it to make sure he doesn’t make Velvet uncomfortable.

Velvet has no idea why he’d make her feel that way, he’s her friend after all, so Jaune explains that soon after returning from Ever After he caught himself reaching to touch her ears out of Habit because he did it with Juniper whenever he was stressed or needed something to ground himself, but he knows that touching a Faunus Trait is a very serious and intimate thing and felt horrible for nearly intruding on her personal space.

Velvet is touched by his thoughtfulness and says she appreciates it immensely, but he doesn’t have to distance himself from his friends, all he had to do was explain from the start and she would understand, and now she does :3

Coco’s still hung up on the fact that Jaune was friends with an honest-to-gods Jackalope LANSKXSBJS

Sorry I just! I love this scene you’ve set up so much that I wanted to see come to life. Jaune’s always treated so strangely in this fandom. He’s really not that bad if you just focus for a sec.

I totally see this scenario being believable. All that trauma from his time in the Everafter. And Juniper was his only stability for so so so long…you don’t forget someone like that. See their ghost in familiar places, in familiar people.

I think it’ll do him good to start being made to process his issues. I haven’t made it to V9 yet but my take on Jaune is he’s just having a bad day constantly. Underdog healer. Being around new company will do him good. Help him process. I think when the trio are alone together they’ll make a lot of progress with that. Unload a lot of that baggage he’s been carrying.

Anyways, boy’s gonna be fine. He’s in good hands and even better company~

The more I think about it, the more I think I should've paired a mage Hawke with Tobias Cousland. (Knight Enchanter so he spent most of the game fighting with sword and shield.)

Like, your family has had to move constantly your whole life because of magic. But you've finally settled outside Lothering and tried to just stay in one place for a while, but then the Blight comes and you have to flee with your lives, barely making it out in time. You're refugees in a templar-controlled city and you have to hide your magic harder than ever, but you're determined to make it work this time. Then the Hero of Ferelden ends the Blight in record time and rises to the throne. The official word out of Denerim is that he's a warrior of great skill, but certainly no mage. Certainly no apostate. The noble Couslands hiding their son's magic? CERTAINLY not. And what Ferelden would refute that? They owe everything to him, what's a little blasphemy to a hero? But the rumors persist.

("I have a cousin who saw the Hero crush the life right out of a hurlock with magic!" "Well my sister was living in Denerim during the final battle and she swears she saw him in a field of frozen genlocks and there were no other mages anywhere NEAR him." "Me nan lives in Amaranthine and she saw him walking around with a staff on his back, bold as you please!")

The rumors reach your ears and you think, "if he can do it, why not me?" And for a while it even seems to be working out that way. You regain your family's estate. You save the city from the qunari, you defeat the Arishok himself in single-combat.

But it all falls apart. Champion you may be, but the Arishok is no Archdemon, and you have no queen in your corner, no ancient and respected family name. The mage-templar war erupts right there in your city, and no amount of magic can stop it.

History will remember Tobias Cousland as a warrior and a Hero, but you're just another apostate - a danger to yourself and everyone around you.

And also the more I think about it, the more I think I want to completely swap out my canon. Like. I LOVE the narrative circle of starting Jasper Mahariel's journey by being corrupted by this ancient relic of his people and ending it by following his lover through the same. And I LOVE that the first human Merrill ever met took Jasper, one of her only friends away, and she never saw him again. Then the second human she ever meets ends up falling for her and taking care of her and giving a her real home and supporting her unconditionally for the first time. I love that through-line, that's why I did it.

But also I set it up years ago and I'm slowly finding that other stories are more compelling in my old, depressed state. [weary emoji]

I HAVE AWOKENNNN THAT MEANS ITS ANNIVERSARY TIME 💖💘💖💘💖💘💖💘💘💖💘💖 I can't quite explain why but I have been SO looking forward to today for the past few weeks, and today is finally the day.....

I've told the story about how I first fell for Cortex so many times now; I got stuck in the LGA airport and spent the night in the crew room, was too upset to sleep so I was marathoning Caddicarus videos, found myself realizing "hey the Crash series seems like something I would really enjoy, why don't I watch some cutscenes on their own!" And well... that was the beginning of the end 😳💖💖💖 After that, it'd only take 11 days and Cortex would be going up on my f/o list, and it has been an absolutely insane (or should I say N. Sane) year since then in the best way possible.

I have to be honest... I don't think I have been obsessed with a character this intensely for this long since I fell for Junkrat in 2019, which is a BIG deal to me personally considering how close he is to my heart. What I really love though is that, even though the feelings are similar in intensity, they're still completely separate; the love I have for Jamie feels entirely different from the love I have for Neo. This self ship has just been a TON of fun to think about and talk about!! And I'm so honored that y'all are willing to listen, cuz oooh man I've got a lot of talking to do today! 💖💖💖

I have mixed opinions on the Fear Street movies. On the one hand, I think the movies tell an interesting and compelling story with a lot of potential. On the other hand, they seem actively disinterested in their source material and have a very different tone (the original books were definitely not slashers).

I think it’s a good example of good movies, bad adaptations.

The "playing along with Ortea's HG theories" path is intriguing to me. Ruby is my Sidestep who I think could go the distance re: not revealing a thing (or more likely so I can have someone in my pocket for the late game reveals), so I'm considering having that also as one of his lil side paths? He's also gunning for the regenerator so ??? it's possible he might swing it

After not interacting with it or playing any of the games in 5+ years I have suddenly fallen back into Pokémon, but specifically the overwhelming urge to replay my copy of OmegaRuby.

What is going on
