We talked about shapes, contrast, lighting, color, how to adapt to different artistic directions and many other topics ! The first vis dev painting is the final demo I did. The one of the highway is a 1H painting done at the very beginning of the class and the 2 Vespas were about how to deconstruct / understand / adapt to several artistic directions 🩷

I created this illustration to work on set dressing and getting practice adding clutter to make a designed space feel more lived in. This was a really great exercise, and I definitely plan to do this again to keep improving! More info about the design below vvvv

This bedroom belongs to an eight-year-old girl, Hope. She lives in a trailer in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains in eastern Kentucky. I wanted to convey some information about her such as her hobbies— collecting leaves, flowers, and rocks from the woods outside her room and drawing. That being said, she is also still very young and has not really reached a stage in life where she has personalized her bedroom beyond taping up some drawings on her walls. I tried to keep some elements stereotypically girly to show that several of the decorative elements in her room are just holdovers from when she was much younger. For example, I tried to show the age of the butterfly stickers on her wall by showing one peeling off the wall.
