La explotación infantil era el pan de cada día de aquella ciudad y a sus cuatro años de edad, huérfano y sin muchas esperanzas, el pequeño niño se unió a las interminables filas de infantes trabajadores que eran ideales para los trabajos en los que los adultos no podían incursionar. Así transcurrió la infancia de Enzo, siendo un pequeño obrero, obligado a crecer antes de tiempo.

Al pasar los años y Enzo crecer un poco más, su vida no fue más prometedora y parecía que la vida inglesa solo podía ir de mal en peor, para su mala suerte la tuberculosis lo alcanzo y como era de esperarse, fue tratado como quien tiene la peor de las enfermedades. Lorenzo siempre estuvo consciente que moriría, sin embargo, dentro de él había alguna clase de esperanza de que la vida le presentaría alguna oportunidad, que le sonreiría como solía hacerlo cuando pensaba que todo estaba perdido. Aquella esperanza se materializo en la figura de una mujer que el chico describió como un ángel, porque eso había sido para él. Lily Salvatore representó la salvación de su vida y sin preverlo, también fue su mayor desilusión cuando creyó le abandonó a su suerte.

Así su frágil vida paso a ser inmortalidad, sin que la miseria fuera algo que le abandonara. Como soldado enlistado en la segunda guerra mundial, vio tantos horrores que se dio cuenta que los monstruos también podían ser simples mortales. Y si no cayó en combate, al menos si se convirtió en prisionero del Dr. Whitmore. Teniendo 10 atormentados años de tortura, siendo objeto de experimentos dentro de una sociedad denominada Augustine, compartiendo celda al lado de un vampiro que con el pasar de los días se convirtió en la mejor compañía y al que pronto consideró un buen amigo, sin embargo, de nuevo aprendió a no confiar demasiado en las personas, pues terminaban dándole una estocada por la espalda. Su compañero de celda se escapo y a él lo dejó atrás para morir o sobrevivir por su cuenta. Así los años pasaron a formar décadas y durante su encarcelamiento, Enzo aprendió la lección de no confiar en nadie, solo era él contra el mundo y ya se había demostrado más de una ocasión que podía enfrentarlo solo, así que lo haría el resto de su inmortalidad.

Autosuficiente es una cualidad que tuvo que aprender desde una temprana edad y de la forma más dura.  Pese a la dura vida que le toco llevar, Enzo siempre quiso guardar un poco de esperanza y optimismo, eso era el motor que le impulsaba a seguir adelante, porque nunca vio con pesimismo los acontecimientos de su vida, sabía que merecería algo mejor, que algo demasiado bueno le estaba esperando y se convertiría en el equilibrio de la desbalanceada vida que le había tocado afrontar.

Enzo forjó su personalidad bajo aquella capa arrogante y vengativa como forma de auto protección, pues más de una persona lo decepcionó desde el momento en que nació y a lo largo de su crecimiento, por lo que determinó que era mejor cerrarse y no dar cabida a nadie para evitarse el dolor de una decepción, sin embargo, aquella actitud defensiva conlleva a ocultar su verdadero miedo a la soledad, es algo que no puede afrontar y nunca aceptara, la simple idea de estar solo le aterra.

Dentro de aquel armazón se esconde, un Enzo leal, amable y protector, que solo saldrá a la luz frente a la persona que realmente gane su confianza, un reto difícil, pero  que la vida orillo al vampiro a ocultar esa faceta de él por su propio bienestar.

Tras volverse humano luego de que la profecía se cumpliera, la naturaleza le otorgó una nueva identidad ( post aquí ).

Recuperó todas sus memorias y su naturaleza vampírica al beber sangre humana.

Cuando Klaus Mikaelson fue asesinado por The Hollow, Enzo murió al lado del creador de su linaje. Debido a esto, pasó seis meses en el infierno gobernado por Arcadius. Este negoció su regreso a la vida si le ofrecía una ofrenda poderosa. Enzo ofreció sus servicios, sin embargo, lo que solicitó fue la protección de Bonnie Bennett.

Durante las festividades decembrinas, viajó a diferentes partes del mundo. A finales de diciembre se encontró en París, Francia. Siendo víctima del retorno de su versión joven, desencadenando cambios en su línea temporal actual. Perdió su vida en ese lugar. ( x )
