Episode 206: Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story 3 (Part 2)
In the car outside of a tavern, Haibara pieces together the meaning of the different arson locations, and determines where the last one will be, because the guy is just literally writing “fire” across Tokyo. She goes to find Conan and Sato, who are talking to the bartender inside the tavern, leaving the detective boys in the car. This is not a good thing to do because the arsonist happens to walk by, and they decide to chase him. Meanwhile, Takagi sits in an old abandoned warehouse nearby, handcuffed to a window. And even though he has a gun on him, he can’t bring himself to break the handcuffs because they’re Sato-san’s father’s. This is when the arsonist decides to start a fire in the warehouse. Meanwhile, Conan talks to the detective boys, and they tell him where the arsonist is. So while Sato goes to confront her father’s murderer, everyone else goes to stop the arsonist. Conan kicks a bucket in his face. Shiratori tells them it’s fine the warehouse is burning because it was going to be torn down soon anyway. However, Sato’s father’s murderer was the one who knocked out Takagi, and he put him in the warehouse. He tells her this while he’s confessing to the murder, which wasn’t really a murder because actually he walked out into oncoming traffic while being apprehended, and Sato’s father pushed him out of the way to give him a second chance. Sato runs to the warehouse to try to save Takagi, but it’s already engulfed in flames. Luckily Takagi was able to pull the window out of the building and survive.
