#Eris hates Cassian for this

ACOSF, except that Nesta refuses to move to the House of Wind and packs her bags to leave to the "human lands", but instead of actually going there, she stops at the Spring Court and kinda forces Tamlin to take her in. After all, Spring is close enough to the human lands and she's sure none of the IC would look for her Spring.
She and Tamlin clash at first, but then Nesta tells him that Feyre wanted to lock her in the House of Wind for "her own good" and Tamlin has to take a walk outside the house to not break anything because what the fuck? Those people haven't forgiven him for locking Feyre up to protect her and make him miserable because of it, but suddenly it's okay when they do it? Unbelievable.
They drink together and bond over the Night Court's hypocrisy, how they were treated by them, and Feyre. They start living together. Tamlin plays the music and Nesta dances to it. They spend time in silence in his library or taking relaxing strolls around the garden. Nesta does more healing there that she could've done in the House of Wind. Eventually, she and Tamlin become good friends.
Oh, and she meets Eris again and they actually get to know each other outside the Night Court's machinations. They have a slowburn romance and get married eventually, turning Nesta into the High Lady of Autumn. She helps Tamlin rebuild his court and strikes an alliance between both courts, and she thrives with positive relationships and a man that genuinely loves her and doesn't try to change her.
Also Lucien makes up with Tamlin and returns to Spring, adding him to Nesta's friendship circle.

Finished the acotar books a year ago and all I wanna say is
Nesta is the best character and will always be famous.
I love the inner circle even if they have done some questionable things. It’s a fantasy world they do not have to live up to your modern day moralities.
Everyone of these characters could be morally grey and do things that morally grey characters typically do.
The Valkyries are my favorite found family and sjm peaked when she wrote their friendship.
The Gwynriel and Elucien book is going to make me so happy.
Cassian is a good person and is overhated largely in this fandom.
Nessian is my favorite fictional couple. They still have a lot of healing and growth to do together but that doesn’t make them bad. sjm took a more realistic approach at a relationship for them and people are thrown off by it. But it is clear they hold a lot of love for one another.
antis who want a fake nessian bond but are anti elriel for this reason will always be confusing to me.
Nesta is one of sjm’s best written characters. And she is way too overhated for the dumbest reasons.
Lucien is precious. I shall protect my preciousness.
Eris is a compelling character.
I love the books how they canonically are with some fanon mixed in. This doesn’t mean I have surface level thinking.
Some people take the books too seriously and make it more than what it is, sjm didn’t intend for this. Enjoy them how you wish but don’t make the fandom less enjoyable for others.

Me making absurd Nessian HCs while I should be writing.
Inspired by @acourtofmishapandmistakes and this hilarious post
HC: Cassian brings Nesta the most out of pocket gifts from his travels and she has the HoW discreetly dispose of them.
Summer: a feral seagull
Spring: Tamlin’s tea pot. “Whaddya want Nes? I could barely see straight with the pollen count…”
Autumn: A well crafted dagger that holds a tiny living flame and a series of leather bound classical Autumnal romances. (He asked for Eris’s help after the seagull debacle and the tea pot). Nesta likes these gifts and thus puts her guard down…
Dawn: A sex toy meant to stimulate Peregryn wings. Cassian presents it as a toothbrush. Guard up again.
Day: a signed photograph of Helion.
Winter: a spoon he has licked, that is now stuck to his tongue.

Another day...
Another day where I pray that some people on ACOTAR fandom (yeah you, I see you antis, I see you) get the ability to read, read with their eyes open, don't bend the events to fit their "opinions" and understand the fundamentals of this amazing series. (I see you hating Nesta, and oh, there you are saying Cassian is an abuser, don't think I didn't notice you, my darling, Rhysand's haters... I see all of you)
Additional: maybe stop hating fictional characters?
Yk, there's already so much hate in this world...

If the fic request are still going I'm sending two feel free to pick. One bed Tamcien or runaway bride Neris. Need the otps being cute
Tumblr media
I did Neris, and WOW IT WAS FUN!!! Beware, lots of bat boy bashing ahead!
Stupid. Stupid. You’re a stupid idiot. Nesta berated herself. Her hand was clutched around her third glass of beer. She was pointedly ignoring the fact that everybody was staring at her. Even in this random dive bar in Velaris, everybody recognized Nesta Archeron, Lady Death, sister of the Cursebreaker.
It certainly didn’t help that she was in an elaborate wedding dress with a train that dragged halfway to the door.
She was so fucking stupid. She had known that she didn’t want to marry Cassian. Not now, not ever. The crumbs of kindness he gave her did nothing to fill the empty well of loneliness that was her heart. Did nothing to make up for the fact that he put Rhysand and Azriel and Feyre and fucking Morrigan before her, every time. The sex had been good enough to trick herself into thinking that she could eventually love him. Or that she could make him love her.
It hadn’t been until her own wedding, standing at the back of the aisle, that she had come to accept the truth. She saw Cassian at the end, smug and dominant, his gaze licking lecherously up and down her body. She saw Rhysand and Feyre, Azriel and Elain, also waiting to greet her. The sisters she once would have given her life for, reshaped into shadows of their former selves by their arrogant husbands. That was her future, she realized then and only then. The only way for Cassian to love her would be to destroy herself until she was nothing but a docile pet.
She ran.
Now she sat in a bar, drinking herself into oblivion. She finished her beer and gestured for another one. The bartender frowned, holding out a hand for payment. She hadn’t paid for anything yet, and he was concerned she was going to run out on the tab. Without a second thought, she plucked the comically large diamond ring from her left hand and dropped it on the counter. A new drink appeared in front of her between one blink and the next.
“I told you that you were wasted at the Night Court.” A clear voice spoke from her left. Nesta didn’t have to move her head an inch to know that it was Eris.
“Congratulations, you were right,” she spat with no real venom. The years of self-delusion weighed on her.
The scrape of the barstool against the floor and a whiff of cologne told Nesta that Eris had pulled up a seat next to her. He smelled nice, she thought dispassionately. Like jasmine, and coffee beans. She waited for the taunts and jeers, for his slick tongue to remind her of how foolish she had been.
“I should kill him.”
“What?” Nesta looked over, and to her surprise Eris wasn’t languidly leaning on the bartop, smirking. His shoulders were hunched, his entire body tense. Without needing to be asked, the bartender slid a shot of a bright green liquid to him. The scent of it was enough to make Nesta’s eyes water, but Eris swallowed the whole thing without a grimace.
“I should kill him. For what he’s done to you.”
“What are you even doing here?” His words made no sense. Nobody was ever punished for what they did to her.
“I was at the wedding.” At Nesta’s shocked expression, his mouth curled up into a grin. “You didn’t know?”
“No.”
Eris shrugged. “I’m guessing Rhysand wanted me there as a political maneuver. Or Cassian wanted me there to gloat.”
“So why did you come?”
“To see if you were really stupid enough to marry him.”
“I’m not in the mood for whatever this is.” Nesta stood up to leave, but Eris stopped her. If he had grabbed her forearm, the way that Cassian always did, she would have shaken him off. But his hand wrapped around her fingers, holding them just tight enough for her to sense his urgency, but not so tight she couldn’t pull herself away.
“You deserve better than him. Not because of his heritage, but because he’s a brute who needed to control you. He wanted you to be his, when any male with half a brain would be bowing at your feet in gratitude to be considered yours.”
Nesta could only stare in shocked silence. The way that Eris fumbled his words betrayed that speaking like this was new to him. Embarrassed, he let go of her hand. “Anyway…I’ll leave you to your newly single life.”
“Wait!” This time it was Nesta who stopped him. He turned back, some unnamed emotion that might have been hope glimmering in his eyes. “Can you stay? Drinking alone is bad enough. Drinking alone in a wedding dress is worse.”
“Yes.” He sat back down, close enough that Nesta could feel the heat of his body through the satin gown. “I’ll stay.”

A Court of Silver Flames - Sarah J. Maas
2/5 - Don't read if you're not willing to re-write in your head as you go or if you actually like well-written fantasy
I'll be honest, this was my second time through this book. Upon the reread, I had already erased so much of the plot from my memory that it was as if I was reading for the first time. Anyways ...
All the usual Maas problems are here. Weirdly written gay relationships (if there are any), oversexualization of bisexual people, transphobic undertones, retconning characters to being PoC (lucien) a la JK Rowling (or no PoC characters at all), misogyny, CRAZY levels of toxic masculinity, plot holes, etc.
This book is mostly sex and characterization retcons. I really enjoyed Nesta's character arc, the Valkyries, and sometimes Cassian and Azriel, but everything to do with Feyre left a bad taste in my mouth. Favorite scene, no question, was Nesta's dance with Eris in the Night Court. That was the first scene where I felt they actually gave Nesta skills and a personality beyond bitter alcoholism.
That said, the cons of this book far outweigh the pros. As always, Maas' writing is a breeze to get through just because it's not particularly difficult prose, but her insistence (in this novel and in other books) on using Female/Male and weird gender essentialism is at best irritating and at worst actively detracting from the novel. The entire pregnancy plotline could (and arguably should) be removed from this book. It doesn't add anything to Nesta's journey, paints Rhysand and Feyre in a really bad light, and is frankly an incredibly stupid plot choice. You have magic, can shapeshift, and have indoor plumbing but C-sections haven't been invented yet? Really? The whole scenario is incredibly contrived and I actively skipped scenes dealing with it if I could. The entire Inner Circle acts immature, judgemental, and unforgiving, despite their own insistence to the contrary. Elain also still has no personality. I was also confused by the whole "Maybe Rhysand should be High King of Prythian" subplot like ... huh?? Where did that even come from??
The book tops itself off by using one of my least favorite tropes in fantasy, which is when women, usually main characters, have to give up all their power at the end of the story. Maas is very fond of this plotline. She does the same thing with Aelin in the Throne of Glass series. Personally, I find this trope to be misogynistic and often evidence of poor writing to neatly wrap up the end of a story, regardless of whether the choices post-power-loss are in character.
The version of this story that I was re-writing in my head, which cuts the weird bitterness between Cassian and Nesta and Feyre's pregnancy entirely (she's 19????) while expanding on her powers and letting her keep them, is much more interesting. But alas, that is NOT the version on page. Unless you (like me) had it downloaded on your Kindle and an 8-hr plane ride to kill, I wouldn't bother if you're seriously interested in reading fantasy.

honestly... after hofas and rereading acosf i truly believe eris would have been a better match for nesta than cassian (nessian girlies don't come for me okay it's just my opinion)

hey, look: remember that it was mentioned one person can have multiple mates? So, Mor hates Nesta bc of """reasons""", but what if one of the reasons is bc she can sense Nesta is also mated with Eris, who she hates...

i dont really do tiktok or any other social media, so while i KNOW the majority of acotar fandom hates nesta (part of the reason i love her actually bc if an entire famously misogynistic fandom hates her she must be That Bitch) i tend to ignore it/cultivate the content i see to avoid it bc i value my peace and i dont care what they have to say so when there’s a fuckwit posting shit about her in her tag i get Very Pissy

Hi Flowers! if you don't mind I want to talk a bit about the latest chapter of Your Heart that you posted a few weeks back. I really enjoyed it and Neris was such a power couple! The descriptions about the Hewn City and CoN is really cool too, and the general creepiness of Keir as well, like he is genuinely unsettling. Also: Rhys keeps his gentry locked in basically a basement??? (metaphorically I mean) that would be so in character for him. But also like this is such a terrible decision, they seem to be unsupervised completely, and like that could cause massive trouble for him to come? but he ignores that completely? absolutely unhinged.
Cassian is also very much in character, a very despicable hateful man. He deserves everything bad coming his way at that point lol. The audacity to storm the CoN and arrest/imprison Nesta and Eris yikes
Also you mentioned that the bad man body count will come up soon again, will it be one of the remaining Vanserra brothers? I'm very invested
I don’t mind at all, thank you!
The thing with Rhys- which is absolutely canon, but I do love to run with- is that Rhysand is a person of basically completely unchecked power, privilege, and position. But he’s not interested in ruling. It’s completely personal- Keir bows once and gets some broken bones? Rhys has won. Feyre throws a magical tantrum in front of all the High Lords? Right and justifiable. Canon says he dismissed his fathers...entire government? Court? and replaced them with his friends. He does not a give a fuck.
As for Cassian- he writes himself after acosf! He has one more brutal confrontation with the Vanserras to go before he truly slinks away in shame but my god, he probably deserves worse. What does he do when the lie of the dream- and Mor, Nesta, and Azriel- are all gone? THREE HUNDRED MORE YEARS OF SULKING
Keir dies first for a lot of reasons- Mor and Azriel as the worlds least likely allies to the Vanserra clan!- but also as a show: Eris and Nesta are stronger together. Literally capable of killing the closest thing to a High Lord, effortlessly.
But Beron’s real power isn’t power, it’s fear.
Nesta could probably snap him like a twig, but it is Eris’s worst nightmare to even have the two of them in the same room- he tells her to kill him. If Beron ever pays too much attention to her, to do it.
But Eris is not the heir to the throne.
Severin is, and he wants Eris- cunning, weak, useful Eris- alive. His coup of a wife? Not so much.
The less physically dangerous and still monstrous living brother, Osian, is primarily here for the drama. And the ownership of lesser faeries, because he’s a revolting nightmare person.
Autumn is won in sacrifice, and blood. A throne of bone beneath red trees- Eris’s entire plan, Nesta’s entire focus, remains on ritual. They’re killing their way into a slaughterhouse, but the magic loves them. They’re not stealing the crown, they’re going to steal the land. What Eris has protected all these years, the spirit of a place where the year dies, in the hands of Lady Death herself.
Once they manage that, they have no choice but to go after the brothers- and would anyway.
Eris has a plan. His plans have plans. Nesta knows this, but is also NESTA. So there will forever come a time where she slides out of shadow like the sexy wildcard that she is, and knifes a High Lord for being terrible.

Awake
Azriel x fem!Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Azriel is undeniably furious, especially considering the fact that Y/N has yet to wake up. But, when she does, what will become of their relationship?
Warnings: Vomiting, mentions of Az wanting to kill people for his bbg, very fluffy. Bit of hurt/comfort for both Azriel and Y/N
A/N: Here is part two of Poison (which, btw, thank u for all the support I've been getting on it ). feel free to send in requests for acotar bc I'm bored<3
---------------------------------------------------------------
Azriel doesn’t think he’s ever been angrier in his entire life.
He’s supposed to stay calm and collected, every inch the mysterious spymaster, but not even the strongest sedative could settle the rage brewing in his chest. His shadows curl menacingly around his limbs, the black essence seeming to share his fury.
Rhysand sighs, rubbing his temples. Feyre stands behind him, probably to offer some form of comfort. They both adore Y/N. They’ve practically adopted her with how much they coddle and coo at her, despite her loud laughter and complaints whenever they do.
Cauldron, what Azriel wouldn't do to hear that laugh right now.
It’s been three days. Y/N is not awake. His mate is not awake.
Rhysand finally looks up at Azriel. “We’ve got answers, at least.” Before Azriel can interrupt, he keeps talking. “Beron has admitted to poisoning Y/N. He figured that if he targeted her, we’d crumble. Not because she’s the strongest, but because she’s the most… beloved, daresay. He didn’t think we’d hit back, and he thought he’d be able to crush us with this crack in our defences.”
Azriel’s scarred knuckles are alabaster from how hard he’s gripping the arms of his chair. “That doesn’t make sense. Why would he just admit it?” The High Lord of Night takes a deep breath.
“He found it funny.” The noise that tears from Azriel’s throat is completely inhumane, and completely unlike him. He storms to the door, but Cassian’s strong arms hold him back, urging him to stay calm, urging him to breathe. He can’t. He’s gone past being angry, and he’s gone past blaming it on the new mating bond.
Y/N is his best friend. He’d die and kill for her, he’d steal the moon and stars if it meant she’d be happy. The Mother’s bond can go and fuck itself, because the one he’s already got with Y/N will always be stronger.
“I’ve arranged a meeting with Eris Vanserra.” Rhys’ firm voice cuts through the haze of rage. “He says he has plans, and that this event has solidified his desires. I may be unable to tell you what comes of the meeting, but I guarantee that Beron will suffer for what he did to Y/N.”
Mate. Awake. He almost doesn’t realise what his shadows are whispering to him. Awake. Eyes open. Vomit. GO. He chokes, and desperately tries to break free of Cassian's grip. He needs to see her. He needs her to be okay. “Az, Rhys just said-”
“I know what he just said!” Azriel hates the way his voice is more of a sob. “She’s awake- she’s- please, let me go to her!”
A shadowsinger shouldn’t beg. He shouldn’t grovel. He should attack.
But he doesn’t, because he knows that Y/N is far more important than any conflict he could have with Cassian right now.
And, besides, Cassian lets him go. He’s never run so fast in his life. His feet are barely on the ground, legs and shadows and wings working in tandem to get him there as soon as possible. He thinks he might be the one vomiting in a minute.
Rhys groans. “I know they’re close, but he’s going to drive me insane before I even have this meeting.”
But Feyre, ever the observant High Lady, stares at his retreating form, hand squeezing Rhys’ shoulder. “Give him time. I’m sure he’ll cool off, when he knows she’s safe.” A small smile quirks up at the corners of her lips, knowing exactly why Azriel is so worked up.
---------------------------------------------------------------
His chest heaves as he pushes the door open, but then it’s filled with warmth. Alive. She’s alive, and upright, and very visibly pissed off but it’s okay because she’s alive.
“The one time I drink something that isn’t champagne-” she croaks out. “-and it turns out to be fucking poisoned. If that’s not my luck I don’t know what is.”
Azriel can’t control the desperate sob that bursts from his lips as he clambers onto the bed, pulling her into his chest. She’s sweaty, and feverish, and she’s just puked into the bucket next to the bed, but he’ll be damned if he cares. She’s alive. He buries his face in her hair, arms and wings squeezing her so tightly it makes her squeak.
“Alright big guy, I’ve just been sick, let’s not try and go for round two.” Her tone is teasing, joking, but the moment he pulls away, her face falls. “Az…” she murmurs, moving her fingers up to wipe his tears. “What’s wrong?”
“What’s wrong?” he spits, sobbing again. “What’s wrong!? You were fucking poisoned! You’ve been puking and coughing and writhing and screaming ever since you got here, and you’ve been out for three days. Three whole days- where- I didn’t know if you were dead, I didn’t know if you-”
“Az.” her tone is a bit firmer now, thumbs pressing against his lips. “I’m okay. I’m gonna be okay. I’m here, I’m breathing, and I’m going to be fine. Breathe.”
He heaves a deep breath, clutching her so tightly his fingers make indents on her skin. If she notices, she doesn’t care. “You’re… okay.”
“I’m okay.” She smiles. Her lips are cracked and slightly discoloured, but he’s missed her little smile so fucking much. “Come on, Az, you know me. Tough as nails.” She flexes her arms, and Azriel snorts.
“There’s nothing there. You should really stop skipping training.” “No! You’re always a dick to me in training!”
“Yes, because Cassian’s about as mean as a wet sponge, and it isn’t potty training, it’s battle tactics.” She scoffs. “Whatever, whatever.” And he grins, and hugs her again, trying to engrave the memory of her wrapped up in his arms into his brain, just to keep there forever. “Azriel?” He hums in response. “I- so, you know a couple days back? When... this... happened, and I was just about to fall asleep?” She swallows. “I think I felt something… snap.”
His heart pounds in his chest. “The bond? You felt it too?”
“Uh- yeah.” She looks up at him, big eyes blinking up at him like a doe, her face so sweet he wants to coo. “Are you disappointed? That it’s me?”
That makes Azriel frown. How could he be disappointed? She’s everything and more, anyone can see that. Even if he pushes aside the fact that she’s drop-dead gorgeous, she’s got a brain to match it. She’s quick and clever and sassy in a way that rivals even his own spunk. If anything, she should be the disappointed one.
“No.” he says, brows furrowing. “Y/N, sweetheart, you mean the world to me. How could I be disappointed?” He wants to catch all of the butterflies in his stomach and lock them away forever, because they're making him woozy. “Are- are you?”
“Am I?” her tone is confused, almost shocked. “Az- Az, I’ve been into you for, like, forever. I’m not disappointed. I could never be disappointed, not with you.”
They stare at each other for a long moment, blinking, suddenly coming to terms with the fact that this bond has, for lack of better wording, startled them. They’ve always prioritised everyone else over them, always considered others' needs and benefits above their own, but they’ve never had the chance to fully acknowledge themselves. Maybe that’s what made them so alike. Maybe that’s why the Mother paired them together, knowing that amidst the sarcastic comments and teasing touches, the sturdy roots of their relationship came from their unwavering trust and care for one another.
Azriel’s hand moves to Y/N’s clammy forehead, softly pushing the hair away from her face. Despite everything that’s happened in the last few days, she’s still her, and he’s still him. Nothing is ever going to change that.
“You’re beautiful.” He whispers. She rolls her eyes. “I’ve got a raging fever, I’m drenched in my own sweat, I just threw up and you’re calling me beautiful?”
He laughs, oh, by the Cauldron, he laughs. “You could be a corpse and you’d still be the most beautiful girl in the world.”
“That’s necrophilia, Az. Pretty sure that’s illegal.”
“You’re hilarious, sweetheart.”
“Is that why you fell in love with me?”
“Okay, who’s saying I’m in love with you?”
“Me.” and she grins, nudging her nose against his. “Because I am not only hilarious, but also very observant.” He lets out a little hum in response, scarred fingers still twisting in her hair. Everything’s perfect, because they’re not. Their imperfections are intertwined, just like their souls, and the knowledge the other will always be there to love them is all they've ever wanted.
Azriel’s eyes flit down to her lips, and then he’s leaning in, and she’s doing the same, and-
She pulls away, wincing. “I puked about five minutes ago. I don’t think you want to kiss me right now.”
He rolls his eyes, tipping her chin up. “Y/N L/N, I have waited at least two centuries for the opportunity to kiss you. Don’t stop me now.” And he presses his lips to hers. It’s gentle, soft, sweet. Everything he feels around this girl.
“You’re gross.” She mumbles.
“That’s what love does to you.”
“And you’re a sap.” She grins. “I suppose you’re lucky I love you, even if you are going soft for me.”
“Shut up, sweetheart.”
