Torotea is the new tea shop in San Marino. The first location is in Diamond Bar. The emphasis seems to be on quality and unique creations developed by the founder. The drinks include brewed tea, milk tea, Einspanner, tea lattes, ice tea, etc. Some of the menu item names aren’t very clear (e.g., ember milk tea). No food is served.
The drinks come in one size. You can specify the sweetness and ice level. The add-ins are made daily in house and include several kinds of jelly and tapiochi (a combination of mochi and tapioca).
Mulberry oolong tea with perfect ice, 0% sweetness, black tea tapiochi ($6.35 + $0.70 for tapiochi). The tapioca cubes aren’t as chewy as mochi or tapioca balls, so they were just okay. I didn’t realize the mulberry oolong tea had real mulberry juice. I could taste the tea but I thought I was ordering something else (just tea). The drink wasn’t sweet and the juice was fresh. Mulberry tastes like blueberry and grape.
Cash is not accepted. The shop is very narrow, but there is seating. Service was excellent. Parking should be easy to find. The place is very popular at the moment.
