I did 20-odd minutes of low impact aerobics last night to maintain my cardio health. It physically felt good afterwards.
I used to do a lot more cardio workouts, mostly low impact aerobics and circuit training. I want to integrate no more than 2 a week. Building muscle through resistance training is still my main fitness goal so that takes priority.
It was a nice change anyway. Since it's Canadian winter, the sidewalks are covered in ice and it's gloomy and snowy outside. Not at all decent conditions for going for walks. I miss long walks in the beautiful weather so much. I'll try to make up for it by doing cardio workouts at home. They can be fun esp to music and when there's a dance element too.

Ik this isn't my usual art stuff, but I'm just happy and wanted to share. I finally started working out again for the first time since Covid (I've been on a couple runs here and there and occasionally did a few arm exercises, maybe a few push ups every once and again), and I feel incredible. I was still in school when Covid hit and had to stop running cross country due to both Covid and the fact I no longer felt comfortable running in public, as it's unsafe to bind while running (please don't bind while exercising kids). I had top surgery done two years ago, but it takes longer than you might expect to recover, and once again I was left unable to exercise for a bit. Due to those factors, severe depression, and chronic pain I haven't been able to exercise in literal years, and I've forgotten how nice it is. I've always been an athlete, and I think I've been overlooking my main problem for many years now. My body image issues and dysmorphia aren't just from feeling societal pressures; I *haven't* been myself for years. I haven't been an athlete. It feels wrong. It's a shame it's taken me so long to pinpoint why exactly I've felt horrible even when I was incredibly skinny and thought "oh I'm conforming to beauty standards so I should feel pretty", but I'm feeling much better now. I'm on day two of trying to get back into exercising regularly, and while it's been incredibly difficult due to being unable to exercise for years, I genuinely feel amazing. It's nice having a goal to work towards again too.
I dunno, main point is, hey, if you were like me and had to stop exercising because of Covid or binding or just being uncomfortable exercising in public, it's gonna be rough at the start, but give it another shot! There's amazing at home work outs on YouTube that you can follow without any equipment, and who knows, you might find yourself being more motivated in general now that you have a goal to work towards. Having a sense of accomplishment after a workout is genuinely an amazing feeling. Be safe about it tho lol

Dinner was teriyaki chicken and rice, I didnt eat much rice because I put too much teryaki in it. But I hit my goal for a minimum of 500 calorie deficit. Hit over 10k steps, and did 4.69 miles out of 5, with 70 zone minutes for the day.
Overall pretty productive day.

at school : sourbread sandwich with smoked salmon and pickle + an apple
prelunch ? : pudding chia oatmeal with stewed cinnamon apples, date, almonds, expanded millet
lunch : boiled asparagus, two fried eggs and potatoes
dinner : yogurt with cranberry jam, expanded millet, banana and raspberries + a kinder choc
total : 1410/1615 c, 47/100 g protein
workout : 15 min table tennis, 16 min full body pilates by rosie graham, 6,5k steps
log : first day back after exams, feeling better cuz i ate shit past three days and overate a lott, subtle day today cuz nothing interesting in the fridge (ive been twice longer in recovery than ana wtff)

The more I play online games the more I understand and kind of agree with all the boomers I know refusing to let their kids play online games until they hit 17. I'm not a parent, but if I was I wouldn't want my kids interacting with people like that either.
#its so entitled#you just know these are the same people who scream and cry at retail workers and threaten to get them fired#because the store is out of something#and yeah. i would not want my kids to have unsupervised (or really any) contact with those people#until i was able to instill the values of 'be polite to people who are providing you a service'#and 'learn what kind of issues are actually worth screaming and crying and demanding compensation over' (a hint: not very many)#now theres a happy middle ground. my adopted siblings were all allowed to play mmos or whatever#as soon as they were 13#but they were simply not to be involved in the world chat. at all.#curbed 90% of issues#i heard this from my mom and that was the day that i logged onto lotro and filtered out wc for every character#and it made the world a little brighter#but that might not work for all children#my adopted siblings are all smart and dont like to misbehave for fun#so idk. it works in combination with some exercise of self control#which not all kids have#i shy away from the hardline ban#especially since basically every game is online anymore so a hardline ban would be like. only games pre-2015#which may not even run anymore when i have kids#but i also grow to understand the problem with not worrying about it at all
