Speaking of underrated horny metaphor moments... Aziraphale directing Crawly directing the fake birth via oxribs after the oxrib night... HELLO?! My eyes just about popped out of my head XD.
So very horny and so very ridiculously funny. I swear that if you don't completely lose it laughing at "Remember me? BILDAD THE SHUITE!", I don't even want to know you lol. Very early Aziraphale being that dry and dirty was hilarious. He's such trouble. :) We all go on about the ox ribs in the cellar and in the scene with the angels (as we should lol) but I think the inbetween hours get ignored and they're equally underrated...
They're on a walk together in the middle of the night when they happen upon God speaking to Job. They snuck out of the cellar after the rain had stopped but while it was still night and they wouldn't be noticed to go for a walk together alone and then, later, once it's daylight, we see Aziraphale arrive late for the angels arriving to "lo, behold, we murdered your kids!" Job and Sitis. At first, we think he's late to the meeting because he and Crowley have been hatching out a plan but oh no no no no lol... they do not have a shred of a plan. Aziraphale basically make the whole thing up in the moment Bildad busts in. Aziraphale's entire plan was 'um maybe find a way to fake rebirth the old kids or something idk' and when Crowley comes in, he now has the help he needs to actually do it, but it's *very* clear that they had absolutely no plan going into the meeting.
"It would be helpful if you were an expert in human births?" says the angel who might have wanted to mention that at some point-- ANY POINT lol-- in the last, like, 14 hours that they've had to work out this plan, now forcing Bildad to try to sell 'professional midwife/cobbler' to Michael (and sell he does lol.)... My point is that if they left to take a late night walk together and then both were outside when the angels appeared to Job and Sitis, then they stayed out all night together, during which time they were not making a plan and then Aziraphale was late to work. They went on a walk to look at the stars and the stormy sky and talk some more and find a somewhat secluded place they could then watch the sunrise together. Maybe somewhere at the beach where they are at the end of the minisode. They nearly made Sitis have seven! more! children! because they lost track of time making out lol.
If you run into that guy you've got all that chemistry with and then spend the next day helping each other with work in between flirting, getting dinner, staying up all night talking, going for a romantic stargazing walk in the aftermath of a storm, watching the sun come up together, losing track of time and nearly missing work because you're so into one another, and then meet up later at the beach and basically have your conversation confirm what you already know, which is that you're soulmates, well... that's a good first date, yeah?
It is a little sad though when you consider that the episode prior to this is 2.01, which is heavy on the emphasis of how Crowley doesn't stay overnight in the bookshop as part of their efforts to keep their relationship quiet. (That the first night we know of that he ever does, later in the week, is without Aziraphale and with Gabriel, is absolutely the stuff of Crowley's dreams and by that I mean his nightmares. Poor guy just wants to kiss the angel and it's always Gabriel or a statue of him getting in the way lol.) The Job minisode might still be one of the only times they've managed to be together all night.

NCIS: Los Angeles Season Nine Rewatch:  "Venganza"
The basics: When Claudia Diaz is murdered in prison, now NCIS Agent DeChamps and the team investigate.  Callen has to testify about Anna Kolcheck's actions when she shot Sokolov.
Written by:  Erin Broadhurst & Kyle Harimoto Erin Broadhurst wrote or co-wrote “Praesidium”, “Unspoken”, “Come Back”, “Sirens”, "Getaway" and "Forasteira".
Kyle Harimoto wrote “Omni”, “Merry Evasion”, “Chernoff, K” and “Command and Control”, "Granger, O.”, "Ghost Gun", "Kulinda", "767", "Se Murio El Payaso", "Assets" and "Liabilities"; co-writer on “Three Hearts”, “Leipei”, “Humbug”, both ends of the “Matryoshka” two-parter.
Directed by:  Yangzom Brauen directed her first episode of the series.
Guest stars of note: Bar Paly was back from "Vendetta" as Anastasia “Anna” Kolcheck, Marsha Thompson (Agent Nicole DeChamps), Fernanda Andrade (Claudia Diaz) and Kip Pardue (Michael Silva) all return from "SeMurio El Payaso" earlier in the season, Anahi Bustillos as Prison Guard Bianca Mitchell, Darion Basco as Oscar Mori, Benjamin Benitez as ATF Agent Gomez and Duncan Campbell returns from "Where Everybody Knows Your Name" as NCIS Special Agent Castor.
Our heroes:  Continue to fight the Marca family counterfeiting business.
What important things did we learn about:
Callen:  Meditating. Sam: Fan of experts. Kensi:  Lots of friends. Deeks:  Driving.   Eric:  Secured a satellite. Nell:  Up on her Peruvian population. Mosley:  Warned by the FBI to stay away from the Marca case. Hetty:   Has bad news for Callen about Anna.
What not so important things did we learn about:
Callen:  Swings a mean hammer. Sam:  Has a wetsuit tailor. Kensi: Wants her wedding to have a "time of my life" moment. Deeks: Wants to have a natural wedding. Eric:  Knows dirty anime names. Nell:  Looks like she's wearing a beach cover-up. Mosley:  Knew DeChamps from the Secret Service. Hetty:  Worried that Marca could be after Sam, Kensi and Deeks.
Who's down with OTP:  Kensi and Deeks are chatting up the wedding which he keeps referring to as "her" wedding or "her" day and she keeps correcting as "our" wedding or "our" day.  Callen and Anna are falling apart.
Who's down with BrOTP:  Callen and Sam spend the hour bantering about meditating, experts and cobblers.
Any pressing need for Harm and Mac:  No.
Today in Harley:  After weapons training, Hidoko did more than her fair share of exposition in Ops before going into the field to help Kensi and Deeks as a chef.
Fashion review:  Blue and black checkered button-down shirt for Callen.  You'll never guess – black henley for Sam.  Light grey long-sleeve tee for Kensi with dark blue thin stripes.  Medium blue long-sleeve tee for Deeks.  Pink short-sleeve shirt over a rare white tee-shirt with patterned blue stripes for Eric.  Medium blue dress with light blue squares for Nell with a terrible belt and crazy sleeves (not a fan).  Charcoal grey pinstripe suit for Hetty.  Wine colored dress for Mosley.  Light blue long-sleeve tee-shirt for Hidoko before changing into a chef's coat and hat while undercover.
At the episode's end, Callen is in a medium blue suit, white shirt and dark blue tie for Anna's hearing.
Music:  "Run" by Wendy Rae Fowler plays throughout the teaser. "Funk 49" (a personal favorite) by the James Gang is the odd choice for the soundtrack of the firefighter at the end.
Any notable cut scene:  No.
Quote: Anna: "I thought I'd hear from you more often.  I mean, I know I moved, but you do own a car and a phone." Callen:  "I know.  And I have been worried about you.  I wasn't sure if you wanted some time alone.  I should've called.  Or stopped by." Anna:  "Yeah.  So are you here to see me? Or are you here to make yourself feel better about the conversation you're about to have with my colleagues at ATF?" Callen:  "If I could make this go away, I would." Anna:  "I don't need you to be my hero or my protector.  I need you to understand that what  I'm going through has nothing to do with you and this isn't about how this makes you feel because I'm going through this, not you." Callen:  "You're right."
Anything else:  In a women's prison, the inmates are in a group area watching TV, playing chess, chatting, putting together a jigsaw puzzle.  There are books, art supplies.  Claudia Diaz from " Se Murio El Payaso" has a pencil sharpened as a shiv.  She walks toward someone, a prisoner tackles her from the side.  Diaz and the woman who tackled her fight with the guard just outside the room calling for help.
Diaz stabs her tackler several times, gets in a few good punches too.  A second womam, Diaz’s original target, pulls Diaz off the other woman.  While she struggles with Diaz, Diaz stabs the woman a few times with the shiv.  As the guards enter the room, Diaz is distracted.  This gives the other woman the time to push Diaz away and grab the shiv.  She stabs Diaz multiple times in the back before being pulled away.  Diaz is bleeding out on the floor.
In the boatshed, Callen arrives with coffee (for him) and smoothie (for Sam) to find Sam looking through crates of boat parts.  Callen points out Sam he won't take Post-It Notes home from the office but he's fine taking boat parts.  Sam tells him the boat parts have been there forever and Hetty offered any part he needs.  Callen was wondering if Sam came across any of Hetty's gold bars.  He did not but he's looking for brackets for his new hot water pump.  The place that sold the pump doesn't sell the brackets.
Sam wants to know why Callen is up and at the boat shed.  Callen is trying meditation.  Hetty, his accountant, the guy who sells him fruit on the highway have all recommended it.  He's open-minded enough to try.  After downloading an app, Callen found a quiet room and went for it.  Sam is proud – meditation takes time and a lot of work but it is worth it.  Oh, Callen is done.  He cleared his mind for two minutes, fell asleep and feels great.  Sam is not amused.
Callen is playing with some of the boat parts.  Sam takes them back – he's trying to make the boat a home for when Kam and Aiden finish school.  The plans remain to take Michelle "home" to Carmel.  Callen wants to help as best he can – he swings a pretty mean hammer. Sam remembers Callen's old dining room table.
Kensi and Deeks are doing shooting drills.  One partner calls out a target number, the other shoots that target.  They're good – Kensi loves the choreography.  Deeks doesn't – he doesn't like choreographers at all.  Kensi wants one for their wedding.  Deeks has had salsa and waltz lessons.  He wants "this thing" - which Kensi quickly corrects "our wedding" – to be natural.  Kensi wants to do a "Dirty Dancing" like lift at some point.
Deeks doesn't think the wedding has to be perfect – they are perfect together, "and that's what this is all about."  Deeks admits he'll do whatever she wants to do.  Kensi agrees to his dance wishes - no lift, no jazz hands.  Deeks would be opened to the part where she sits on a chair, pulls the chain and water comes cascading down but Kensi is pretty sure that's a different movie.  Kensi's phone rings.  They're needed in Ops.
And they're mostly alone in Ops.  Eric and Nell are there, Mosley arrives behind them.  Hidoko is returning from some firearms training. Callen and Sam are off to the hospital, according to Mosley.  Claudia Diaz is on the screen – she was murdered.  She was stabbed in the kidney.  Kensi wants to know about the other inmates.  The two other women in the incident are Ariane Vilca and Lorena Rosado.  They are also from Peru and currently in the hospital.
Mosley admits this could be a prison beef but it could also being someone trying to get to Marca, Claudia Diaz's faux-father and world class counterfeiter.  Kensi thinks Marca could have done it to stop Diaz from either talking to other inmates or selling him out.  No matter why Diaz was killed, this is an opportunity to disrupt Marca's business and arrest him.  Callen and Sam off to speak to the women.  Mosley wants Kensi and Deeks to talk to the corrections officers involved in the incident.
Callen and Sam arrive at the hospital.  A man in a zip-up hoodie pass them in the hall – he catches Callen's attention.  Callen speaks to the nurse on duty.  Just before he can ask about the two inmates, a woman's voice from down a hallway yells "somebody killed them!"  Alarms are blaring.  Callen notices the man in the hoodie does not react. When the man looks back at Callen, Callen yells "Federal Agents" and while there is no shooting right away, there is lots of running down halls.  The shooting starts in the stairwell.
Callen and Sam chase the man to the roof of the hospital.  The man parkours himself to the far side of the building. After running out of bullets, the man tries to jump from one building to the next. The man misses the lip of the roof and falls to his death.  "Gravity is a bitch,” Callen notes.
Hidoko is back in Ops and updates Callen and Sam.  Kensi and Deeks are interviewing the guard who was stationed outside the room where the attacked occurred.  They are running fingerprint on the man who killed the two women to find out who he is.  They are also doing facial rec.  Callen thinks Marca either is behind all this or someone did this to him.  Either way, he wants to talk to Agent DeChamps.  That's NCIS Agent DeChamps, Eric tells Callen.  She is based in San Diego, currently working undercover in South Los Angeles.
Agent Castor is sitting with Corrections Officer Bianca Mitchell in the boat shed when Kensi and Deeks arrive.  She loves the boat shed.  Mitchell was crew team in college, it feels like home – she can almost smell the Icy Hot and Gatorade.  Kensi thinks that's probably Deeks.
Getting to business, Deeks thinks Diaz was more someone who would pay a fellow inmate to stab someone, not do the dirty work herself.   Mitchell disagrees – this is exactly what Diaz would do.  Diaz and her attackers were all well-trained.  The entire attack went down in nine seconds. Deeks thinks nine-seconds is very specific.  Diaz wasn't the only one who was well trained.  Mitchell was an MP in Afghanistan for four years.  She's a corrections officer by day, law student at night.  She wants to join the FBI.  Kensi thinks the FBI would be lucky to have her.
Deeks says they are getting Diaz's visitors logs.  Mitchell cuts him off – she only had one and he showed up last week.  Kensi shows Mitchell the man who killed the other women in the hospital – he was not the visitor. The prison security office has photos and copies of IDs of all visitors, according to Mitchell.  Kensi is grateful for Mitchell's help.
Callen and Sam see the club where Agent DeChamps is working.  Sam is looking around the neighborhood.  He remembers a lot of old stores in the area but they're being replaced by high-rises.  Callen says LA is going vertical fast before asking Sam what shops he use to frequent in this area.  Sam's cobbler is in the area.  Callen is stunned.  Sam thinks every man should have a cobbler.  Callen asks what would his cobbler do?  Resole shoes, Sam explains.  Callen thinks when your shoes need new soles, you need new shoes.  Sam thinks that's what wrong with people today – wasting perfectly good shoes.
For the record, not that anyone cares, I have a cobbler.  My office building has a gentleman who comes by twice a week to shine shoes and brings them back to his shop to repair them.  Cobblers rock.
Back to the show, Callen points out that Sam loves experts – "anyone who has mastered a craft or trade."  The cobbler goes with Sam's boxing instructor, his custom knifemaker, the woman in Hawaii who makes his spear guns.  Sam adds his wetsuit tailor.  Due to his build, Sam is not the guy who walks into a store and buys a wetsuit off the rack.
Deeks is making a very specific coffee blend for Kensi – not really, "it is basically dirty bath water."  Eric and Nell pop up on the screen.  After joking about the anime name the man visiting Diaz gave the guards, Eric and Nell were able to match his photo to Oscar Mori, a Peruvian.  Mori flew into Seattle before visiting the prison.  He took Amtrak to LA.
Hidoko arrives.  Peruvian law enforcement is watching Marca and have photos for Mori leaving two weeks ago.  Kensi and Deeks debate if Mori was warning Diaz about Marca wanting her dead (Kensi's idea) or if Mori brought a message to Diaz which caused her to attack the others (Deeks’s idea).  Nell recommends they ask Mori himself – he's in Malibu.  Deeks is not only "on it," he's "driving!"
Callen and Sam watch DeChamps come out of the club with her two marks.  While they say their goodbyes, Callen thinks they can talk to DeChamps at Sam's cobbler's shop.  They'd have privacy and maybe DeChamps could get her shoes resoled.  Sam is not amused.  As DeChamps's marks drive away, she sees Callen and Sam.  Before they can talk, a black SUV full of gunmen arrive.
DeChamps ducks behind some recycling bids (because that heavy duty plastic is amazing against gunfire, am I right?) while Sam tries to position his car between DeChamps and the shooters.  Sam yells "long guns" as these men pull out major weaponry.  DeChamps yells, "I don't have a gun!"  Sam is able to pop the trunk and pull out a big gun of his own.  He causes a distraction while Callen grabs a gun from the trunk and takes DeChamps to the back of a parked pick-up.
Callen with DeChamps and Sam, in different locations, are pinned down.  Callen can't get any clear shots line up on the gunmen but has an easy time hitting some propane tanks behind them.  All things go boom, gunmen are on fire, Callen, Sam and DeChamps are safe.
Hetty is up in Mosley's office with news of Callen, Sam and DeChamps being safe.  Mosley was warned by her Secret Service counterpart to stay away from the Marca case.  Hetty hopes Mosley is holding her ground.  She is.  The Secret Service is warning Mosley that she is putting the team at risk (wait until they see the season finale!).  Mosley is sure they want the case for themselves. She's not happy that Callen and Sam killed the gunmen – there are no leads.
Mosley has a tip that Marca is taking Claudia Diaz's death hard.  He wants revenge.  The attack on DeChamps may be the start of that revenge and if it is, he will also be gunning for Sam, Kensi and Deeks.  Nell comes in and confirms that gunmen are from Marca's crew.  She also has Kensi and Deeks surveilling Mori.
Kensi can see Oscar Mori and two bodyguards eating at Malibu Seafood.  Deeks has "the most amazing idea."  Kensi thinks vacation – "surfing in Diamondhead" – but Deeks is thinking about the wedding.  They've discussed a beach wedding but why fly to somebody else's beach when they can get married right there.
Kensi tells Deeks he is right – something he'd like on his outgoing voicemail messages.  The restaurant, Kensi thinks, would easily hold 150 people for a reception. Deeks is not talking about 150 people, he was more in the ten peiople range, the ten who mean the most to them.  Kensi has more than ten people who mean a lot to her.  She grew up on military bases, she was an Agent Afloat on an aircraft carrier – the people who mean the most to her have added up.  Deeks hasn't the same accumulation of people but he thinks Kensi's friends should be at "your wedding."  "Our wedding," Kensi quickly corrects.  They share I love yous and agree on the restaurant for the wedding.  Kensi has a plan to get Mori away from his bodyguards.
With DeChamps, Callen and Sam return to the office.  Callen wants to talk to Michael Silva.  DeChamps is about to send his files up to Ops when Hetty arrives. Hetty gives a different, and I'm guessing correct, pronunciation of DeChamp's name.  DeChamps tells Hetty it is an honor to meet her.  Hetty is there to pull Callen off the investigation.  Sam and DeChamps are off to see Silva.
Hetty has bad news – he is being called to the ATF.  Their Internal Affairs Division wants to talk to him about the Sokolov shooting.  Hetty wants him to go to Glendale to visit Anna before the ATF.  Find out how she is doing and how that impacts him.
Dressed as a chef, Hidoko goes straight to Mori's table.  She asks if he had the prawns – he did.  She offers her regrets – the supplier said prawns have parasites.  Large parasites.  Mori is freaking out.  Chef Hidoko tells Mori is bet hope is to get them out using the restroom.  Having his guards sit this one out, Mori is off to the bathroom.  On his way, he runs into Deeks and Kensi.  Mori knows something is wrong.
In the restaurant's second floor, Deeks sits Mori firmly down in a chair.  He's happy he doesn’t have parasites.  Kensi questions Mori about killing Diaz.  Surprised, he did not know she was dead.  Or the other women.  He tries to explain that he had a falling out with Marca.  To repair the relationship, he flew to the US to give Diaz a message from Marca.
Kensi wants to know the message but Mori doesn't want to share.  He thinks he should leave.  Deeks tells him that Hidoko has taken pictures of the three of them in the private room.  Marca isn't going to like that.  The message was "Una supernova te hizo una pregunta"- a supernova asked you a question.  He was also told to buy some resin and bring it to garage in Van Nuys.  Mori wants to leave but Deeks insists he stay.  LAPD is on their way.  Mori is wanted for car theft.
Callen shows up at Anna's apartment building just as she's returning from yoga.  They share some small talk.  Anna tells Callen he expected to hear from him – he owns a car, he has a phone.  Callen thought she may have wanted some time to sort out what happened but he admits he should have called.
She asks if he's there to visit her or to make himself feel better about himself for talking to Internal Affairs.  Callen tells Anna if he could, he'd make all this go away for her.  She isn't looking for a protector – this has nothing to do with him.  This is about what she's going through.  Callen agrees.  Anna apologizes for being harsh.  She asks If he wants to take a walk.
In prison, Sam and DeChamps visit Michael Silva.  Silva is looking for a deal or looking for Sam and DeChamps to leave.  Sam tells him that Claudia Diaz was murdered.   Silva is indifferent until he brings up his younger brother who has a severe learning disability.  He accuses Sam of using that fact against him.  Silva tries to attack DeChamps but Sam stands in his way and makes quick work of Silva.  Sam admits he knew about Silva's brother when he came up with that undercover persona (no he didn't but hey, retro-fit your story!).  Sam works next level – "you feel me."
Mosley is back in Ops.  Silva is not cooperating so she tasks Nell with running the surveillance photos from Peru to see if Marca had any other familiar faces as visitors.  Eric checked out Mori's story – he did drop off 200-pounds of resin to a garage in Van Nuys.  A van picked up the resin and Eric is tracking it.  Mosley explains that resin is used on printing plates in the "intaglio" technique – that is how Japanese yen are printed.  Marca could be looking to unload the yen on Peru's large Japanese population.  Yen are difficult to counterfeit but if anyone could, it would be Marca.  Eric finds the van in Topanga Canyon in a ranch area.  Mosley wants Kensi and Deeks to find the resin and find it quickly.
Silva is now in waist chain.  With the bruises on his face, he can go back to his cell and tell the other prisoners he was beaten for not cooperating.  It keeps him safe.  Sam asks if Silva is afraid that Marca is after him next.  DeChamps explains that when Diaz was in LA months ago, she was checking out Silva.  Marca didn't trust him.  NCIS has her computer – they knew Silva was skimming Marca's profit.
Kensi and Deeks looking for the resin.  Eric has a Forestry Service satellite (they have satellites?) watching Kensi and Deeks as they check through the ranches.
Anna is giving Callen a walking tour of her neighborhood.  Callen just wants to talk.  He knows he can't help her through this but he can make it not hurt as much.  The two admit they're not good at letting other people help them.  Anna tells a story of a childhood friend – Katya – who wanted to be a ballerina.  And she succeed – made it to the Bolshoi.  A bad leap caused an injury that ended her career.  Katya drank herself to death – she had no Plan B.
Callen tries to tell Anna that she is not Katya.  ATF, Anna tells him, is her dream job but losing it will not end her.  She insists he tell the truth.  He saw her holding her gun after the shooting.  She kisses him goodbye.
Eric finds that only one ranch has vehicles nearby.  They can't find the one that transported the resin but Nell has a heat signature from the ranch of recently driven cars in a carport.
Silva tells DeChamps and Sam he had nothing to do with Diaz's murder.  Silva wants a deal – for his brother.  Andrew is living in a group home, has a job.  He makes his own money, he's so proud of what he does.  Andrew is being taken advantage by the man who runs the group home – he steals Andrew's money.  Sam promises he will personally make that stop.
Silva explains that that they only got one of Marca's printing facilities.  Sam mentions someplace isolated.  Silva knows about the ranch but it isn't used to print money.   It is where Marca's travelling tactical team stays.  They are highly trained killers.  Sam makes a quick call to Nell.  Eric switching from heat signatures to actual footage – he sees gunmen closing in on Kensi and Deeks.
The shooting started just as Eric tried to contact Kensi and Deeks.  They are hiding behind rocks with a steep cliff behind them.  Deeks does not want to make the rock his Alamo and doesn't want to head down the cliff.  He also doesn't want to get shot in the head so he and Kensi are making their way down the cliff.  Deeks and Kensi check on each other – they're OK and the men are back shooting at them.
Nell tells Kensi and Deeks there is a stable about a mile away – the gunmen are taking a path and not jumping down the cliff. They may have a chance to get away.  Deeks confuses the Alamo with "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" and Kensi thinks he has a concussion.
Sam and DeChamps meet up with Callen.  Kensi and Deeks are near the stable with the gunmen behind them.  Callen, Sam and DeChamps are there to take out the gunmen.
Kensi has one and a half mags left, Deeks just one.  Nell tells them that Callen and company are close but they have to draw the gunmen's fire.  They do and the stable gets good and shot up.  Kensi and Deeks do not.  That gives enough time for Callen, Sam and DeChamps to kill the tactical team.  Deeks makes more Alamo and Sundance remarks and mentions having a concussion.
Sam returns to the office with DeChamps.  They knew each other at Glynco when they were training.  Mosley thinks the move to NCIS from Secret Service is a great choice.  Kensi and Deeks arrive.  There was no counterfeiting equipment at the ranch, just the resin.   Marca likely learned that LAPD picked up Mori and shut down his production plans according to Deeks.  The killer from the hospital was a member of a rival counterfeiter's team.  He thought taking out Diaz would weaken Marca and present an opportunity.  Mosley is still looking to get Marca.
Callen is being interviewed about Sokolov pulling a weapon on Anna.  He is trying to sell the idea that both he and Anna thought Sokolov had a gun.  The ATF asks a direct question – did he see Sokolov pull a gun on Anna.  He does not answer.
What head canon can be formed from here:  Sam and that guy running the group home.  Callen's issues with Anna.  Kensi and Deeks checking out the restaurant for the wedding.
Episode number:   214 overall.  Episode 22 of season nine.
