The machine is shaking now.

The machine is roaring now.

Streaking through the sky at speeds unimaginable, exceeding expectations. Had it been built to go this fast? No, it certainly hadn’t… But it roars all the same, just like it purred on the first day you met, now in defiance to its pursuers. It won’t let them catch you, not in a million years.

It rattles and shakes but continues on, unbreakable, turns and maneuvers, perfectly responsive to your touch and commands. A marvel of engineering. Even among the others of its model, you know, yours is one of a kind.

Finally, escape, and a happy trill from the machine. It had kept you safe, and you, it.

The machine is silent now.

How many years have passed?
