They make me gain weight." or "If I even think about chocolate cake, I gain 10 pounds." etc. etc. - When most of us think about carby foods, we tend to think of all our favorites like: 🍰 cake 🥐 croissant 🍟 fries 🍕 pizza 🍩 donuts - But when you look at the fat content of these foods -- it can make up as much as half the calories (or more). Just look above in my example. Most donuts are fried and that's what makes them so tasty. Half of the calories are fat from the oil and batter. - And then other foods like potatoes🥔, sweet potatoes🍠, rice 🍚, veggies 🥕🥒🥗, and fruits 🍒🍊🍍 are mostly all carbohydrates. But these foods on their own rarely taste good without at least a little fat. A baked potato is always better with a pat of butter or sour cream. Big Mac Sloppy Joes

Summary: I wanted something different and, honestly, while sloppy joes sounded good, it just didn’t sound like what I wanted to eat. What I did want was a burger, specifically, a Big Mac. Then I remembered a post that I pinned that combined the two!
What We Thought: It was alright. It lacked the punch of a real Big Mac but it was a tasty dinner. I’m not sure what exactly I would change up, though. I think I’ll just have to leave the Big Macs for McDonalds from now on.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1/4 cup mayonaise
3/4 cup Thousand Island dressing
salt
pepper
1/2 cup pickles, diced (I used bread and butter)
1 onion, diced
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
hamburger buns
1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
Directions
Brown the ground beef in a skillet. Drain the grease.Reduce the heat to low.
Add in the mayonaise and Thousand Island dressing. Mix and make sure that all of the beef is coated. Salt and pepper as desired.
Add in pickles and onions to the pan. Continue to cook until warm.
While the sloppy joes are heating up, lay the hamburger buns on a baking sheet and toast in the toaster oven at 350° for about 5 minutes.
Scoop the ground beef mixture onto a hamburger bun, top with a sprinkle of iceberg lettuce, and you’re done!

Have you ever noticed as soon as you add more carbs to your diet you gain weight? It’s a common hurdle most people face.

Here’s the truth: carbs don’t make you fat. Eating more calories than you burn makes you fat.
If you increase carbs without dialing back elsewhere the total number of calories you consume will be higher and voila, fat gain.
- So, what’s the deal with the dreaded number on the scale going up? Weight gain on the scale doesn’t always mean you gained body fat. One gram of carbs stores an additional 3g of water. A diet with 200g of carbs can result in 2 pounds of water weight in a day. This is why a weekend food bender leads you to step on the scale and lose your shit on Monday. -
Remember, it’s just water weight. Not necessarily fat.
Water weight fluctuates dramatically. - And those high carb foods you’re eating? Well, double check the macros.As my boy @jcdeen has pointed out, many foods we think about as “carb-heavy” can become calorie bombs based on how you prepare them. Think donuts, baked goods, fries, and the like.
