The first ever tracker recording on this blog, and what better to start off with a trancey tribute to Half-Life! :D

With no surprise, I immediately had approved of this track when I first heard it in 2021. The cheery vibe makes me think of that trance promo album by Doug Laurent for some reason. Also, I don't mind the typo of Freeman's first name, since I've seen many people type it this way before. :P

I loved the little couch pat! This dynamic is so good and I really hope they keep allowing Khanin to dominate Charan. I doubt they'll keep the dynamic all the way through but I at least hope they don't switch it entirely around. Also I'm living for having a literal whipping boy in a BL. I adore this trope so I'm here for it! All these dynamics are just so good!! This show is really delivering!

I'm an absolute sucker for this show still! Seems like Sorn actually has some moves! Telling Jun that he'll make a none spicy version for him next time while staring straight into his soul and kissing Jun's forehead while being domestic in the kitchen. Also, this is equality! We get both toxic yaoi and toxic yuri in one!! There's gotta be some history between these two. They aren't just gals being pals!

A wild number of NC scenes in this episode! I thought it was interesting how much the show covered up Pete and Chris' scene. Love that they went back for seconds after the KimKenta interlude! Get that ass!! There's definitely something iffy about Chris but I doubt he's the only person doing questionable things in the x-hunter lab and garage. Excited for more Sonic and North next week!

It was so good to see Singto and Krist together in a show again! And I'm already hooked! There's obviously still something between these two and I loved that the audience is let in on the detail that Tam in part came to Phi's aid because he still loves him. Also Te definitely Baited Phi to provoke the scandal so I can't wait to see him get taken down.

I was surprised by how funny I found this episode. The scene where Yo pulled off the balaclava off the bandit to reveal a different colored balaclava twice I legit laughed out loud. This means that this doesn't get buried in all the other high quality shows happening right now. One thing I have to say though is that Yo right now needs a lot of growth before this show can stick the landing because he's behaving far too childish right now. The show also seems aware of this so I'm hopeful.

Sun and his gang really are small fish in a big pong. They really got their asses served to them by Nap. I wonder who he works for and whether he'll frame Sun with the knife straight away or if it was more a matter of having leverage over Sun. I figured this was probably Mei's faith because this show really doesn't shy away from raw and dark topics. I really hope she gets a girlfriend or at least a good friend out of the ambulance gal because she deserves something good and sweet in her life now.

Weirdly even if this show comes out on Friday, because the whole fasttrack thing WeTV does, I've actually been watching it on Monday or Tuesdays. That however means that this week I watched it on the middle of a break down so when writing this on Friday I honestly can't remember much. This is definitely one of the more mindless shows airing right now but that's really not a dig at this show. It adds some good variety and I'm excited for the next episode.

Someone needs to similarly take down Mon's mom a couple of pegs. The kids are still all cute, this show is still bumbling along and the teachers still aren't doing it for me.

I'm a sucker for forced proximity so them finally sharing a room makes me excited. Overall I really like this concept and I'm very curious where this is going to go. Our seasoned actor needs to stop acting like an idiot too good for this show and his co-star though. I do love that the setting of this story is on the shoot of a BL series where the director is in an established relationship with the writer as the side couple.

I find it a little weird that it hasn't even been suggested yet that Tong will become a vampire. In fact they haven't even talked about the mechanics of becoming a vampire which feels odd in a vampire show where first someone close to the leads died and now our main is in mortal danger. Feels like an odd choice.

As usual I don't read your F1 post but as usual when I see a word coming often enough in my peripheral vision I get curious. What is Antonelli

As you can tell he's a baby. He turned 18 like 5 seconds ago.

Anyway, he's gonna start F1 next year in Mercedes.

Why does it cause so much discourse that even you have to ask what's going on?

Somewhat long post :

So Mercedes has a free seat because 7 time world champion and overall GOAT of the sport Lewis Hamilton decided to leave for Ferrari in 2025. Now this caused an f1blr meltdown in February because no one saw it coming as he's been with them for over a decade and they've won so many world titles together and he spent the previous year saying he wouldn't leave, but since 2021 Mercedes hasn't been doing so good.

There was a lot of discussion as to who could join Mercedes next but the rumours rapidly pointed to Antonelli.

What's crazy is Antonelli is 1) very young 2) very inexperienced. Usually, drivers will do local competitions (F4) then F3 then F2 then maybe F1. If they are thought to be good enough for F1 while they are in F2 they tend to be hired as "reserve drivers" for F1 teams meaning they work closely with the team, train on the simulator, take part in test drives sometimes, overall learn the ropes, and if a driver is for some reason unable to take part in a race, they will replace him.

But Antonelli has only done F4, entirely bypassed F3, was brought into F2 this year and is now gonna join F1 after just one season there. He's not been a reserve driver. He's done his first session in a normal F1 race weekend alongside other F1 driver this weekend and it went like this : lap 1 he's the fastest of them all, lap 2 he crashes in a wall at high speed, end of his session.

So why choose him? Well Toto Wolff the Mercedes team principal has been very annoyed that he let another such very young very unprepared rookie slip his fingers ten years ago : current 3 time world champion, racing prodigy Max Verstappen. Max joined before he was even old enough to have a normal driving license. He too had skipped some steps to F1 although not as many as Antonelli. And although he had a bit of a rocky first few season clearly due to his inexperience, he turned out to be one of the best drivers we have ever seen so far. Some have the feeling that Toto Wolff is trying to forcefully recreate the phenomenon. Even though Max Verstappen is a clear outlier, an exception to the rule rather than an example that bringing young drivers in very fast is a good idea.

Note that Antonelli is said to be extremely talented and that's also why he's been fasttracked to F1 this way. BUT he's underprepared, again very young and facing a huge amount of pressure.

First of all rookies who join F1 are always under pressure because they have very little time to show that they are up to the challenge even though they have barely any experience driving in F1 with cars that are very different from F2 or anything else they've driven up until then. This week, another young driver, Logan Sargeant, was fired mid season in only his second year in F1 because he didn't progress enough. It's over for him and he'll never be back even though those who raced with him in previous formulas say he had more potential than what he was able to show. Many such cases.

Second of all people have been mounting this narrative around Antonelli. Toto wolff, but also journalists. They're acting like he's the next champion. They're calling him Lewis Hamilton's heir for some reason. He has driven 1.5 laps in the current cars so far. It's insane. A generally well respected f1 journalist said yesterday that he hasn't seen f1 this excited about a rookie since fucking Michael Schumacher himself.

So yeah. That's the narrative : the best driver in history leaves his historic team after an unprecedented successful partnership by surprise. The team principal decides he needs another prodigy to replace him and bring his somewhat struggling team back to his former title winning glory. Can't persuade the current prodigy Max Verstappen to leave his own title winning team to join them. Not now, not 10 years ago. Decides to pluck a baby from his cradle to become the next shiny thing. Everybody holds their breath while they wait to see if he'll sink or swim.

Not 100% a fan of Gwen being part alien but if they were gonna go down this route regardless they should've leaned more into magic and gradually made her more powerful in af seasons 1 and 2 and the reveal she was an alien in season 3 we could've gotten a whole mini arc about it.

Kevin being part alien or mutant doesn't affect his backstory much at all what affects it is his mysterious plumber dad

Ben's identity should've been revealed after his battle with vilgax not offscreen.

UAF did a terrible job of showcasing Ben's roster..65 aliens from classic to present and we only see him using the same 5 or so.

Hate the mistransformation gag in ov all you want but at least it showed bens expansive roster.

Bens green Jacket sucks maybe if it was a darker green and he didn't wear it for 6 seasons straight it would've been cooler

The Halloween trio + Whampire is an all star lineup and it sucks they didn't do more with them.

AF did a terrible job of handling Ben's new aliens.

Jetray was used soo much in uaf that I'm not the slightest bit upset he didn't appear in ov.

Fasttrack is not a bad alien they just could've handled him better.

Lost You Forever S2 - A complete waste

Even though the s1 was such a gem in the Chinese adaptation dramas. Love-lines messed up, out of character on a large scale. After all, I don’t know what Tonghua - the script writer AND the AUTHOR of the original book - was thinking. She makes her heroine be some kind of a two timer, going push and pull with Bei in the morning and crying about how hard she feels to forget Jing in the afternoon. Why 🙂 we all know you are single now, XY, but we don’t need that trait from a heroine, right?

As if it would stop right there. A great deal of scenes were added to prove her situation-ship. She wears red wedding gown waiting at the Dragon Bone prison - where she and Jing promised to be together, claiming me wait for nothing (now starts the add-on) but her eyes brighten when she sees snow (means Liu is nearby). Girl, again you were crying over Jing the other day. Anddddd next, our Liu, unexpectedly (but somehow not that unexpectedly) appears on the screen, with a dashing, non-existent-in-the-novel red wedding gown, hands holding the goodbye-im-getting-married gift from Xiaoyao, looks so sad 😬 dude, are the daily demands of a general not heavy enough for you? you have time to hang out with XY in 2 different countries and now you just stand still gazing afar on the ocean???

And the trip to see XY's mom and bio dad. Gosh, originally only Haoling King, XY and Jing went. Now it is like a fellowship of the ring with even Cangxuan and Liu going. Jing, who was introduced to XY’s mom as the fiancé of XY, on his knees before her mom to show respect and gained her approval. In the drama funny thing he’s the only one who was not on his knees. well he doesn’t even get the chance to meet the mom before she dies. And Jing and XY, who want to kill the bug so much, don’t even think to ask the magicians (masters of bugs) when they are in the hood as they did in the novel. Well, let Liu-sama, appearing from nowhere, take care of this task.

And, the plot that Cangxuan is boss in the Jing assassination and all of its following developments, have been written as some kind of hallucination former Xiyan King created for him so he knows when to stop his hidden desire for XY 🤣 the boss now is his queen Xinyue, who is jealous and greedy but not a moron. Someone who cannot beat the power of Tushan-Xiling clans, now has the audacity and assets to support Tushan Hou in setting a trap and kill Jing - her own beloved first cousin. Funny, Tonghua.

And so so many scenes added/removed. I think most people in China who were fans of the novel and s1 are so mad when at least 3 main characters (Xiaoyao, Cangxuan, Jing) are so nerf and OOC that the views go down, like, to the hell compared with s1, which is tbh beyond every bloggers’ forecast. even fasttrack (the release of 6 final eps for those paying) cannot save the view. The hotsearch ���ill adaptation - LYF” on Weibo (Chinese social media) is on, showing great disappointment of the fans.

Such a shame with those casting. All I have to say, capitalism is scary with its star boosting scheme 😅

Music trackers, anyone? No? Have this anyway.

Personally, I would consider Nintendo DS systems a good way to make music. The console had lots of both official ways to compose tracks (like Rhythm Core Alpha 2, Rytmik series and - my favorite - Korg M01) and unofficial, the highlight being NitroTracker.

It's based on a FastTracker II interface and works with XM tracker module format for music and WAV format for samples. The tracker files are lightweight and can be easily played on other platforms - most modern music players support them quite well.

All the music creation is done by switching between two screens - one is used for managing the song, including instrument samples and music patterns, and the other one is where you put notes to play. This makes the interface, while a bit cluttered, quite easy to navigate.

This is how the old one looked. Surprisingly not much different.

This DS homebrew is pretty ancient - it was made back in at least 2008! Around 2020, asiekierka started improving the homebrew with support for DSi mode (meaning more memory for samples and better performance), loop points in samples and other quality-of-life changes. There's also ability to set note effects in development.

I'd say this app is the most powerful when it comes to making music on your Nintendo DS, mainly because you can provide your own samples and even use XM modules made in other trackers.

Just for you all, I've collected some of the NitroTracker songs in a playlist. Most of them belong to Jungle, Drum & Bass or some other electronic genre, and there's a few that I made myself as well! (You'll know when you start hearing something bad in the playlist /j)

"You're rendered useless! You can't even get a job with a face like that!" Hyunjin laughed as he pushed the smaller boy against the wall. It was late after school and Hyunjin had asked Song, the boy he'd pushed against the wall, to collect the money the students had brought for the fundraiser. But Song had been an idiot and forgot. Hyunjin and his friends had cornered the boy after school and beat him up for it.

"I.. I'm sorry H.. Sir.. I was tutoring..." Song attempted an excuse but Hyunjin didn't let it slide. “Stop making excuses you ugly freak” Hyunjin snarled and punched Song square in the face, breaking his glasses. One of Hyunjins friends pulled him back and whispered something in his ear. He sighed and motioned to Song. “Take care of him for me, I’ve got more.. important matters.”

“Hyung! You’re here!” A boy about 2 feet shorter than Hyunjin ran up to him, waving an envelope that was in his hand. With a smirk on his face, Hyunjin ripped the Envelope out of the shorters hand. Opening it, his smirk faded as he read.

“What does it say?”One of Hyunjin’s closest friends peeked over his shoulder. Turning, Hyunjin showed the letter to him.

“Changbin, didn’t you say you knew a guy?” he asked. The other male sighed and rubbed his eyes. “I’ll try and contact him, but for now we might have to sneak in. Did you show Chan yet?”

Hyunjin shook his head, “No, I just got here. Let’s just go, He’ll only yell and tell us no, and I really want to see this.” He sighed and crumpled up the paper, throwing it into the trash.

…6 hours later…

It was about 10 PM and Hyunjin had met up with Changbin and a few other friends. “Woah… this place looks.. Cool! I like it.” Hyunjin grinned and then ushered his friends to follow him. They all snuck past the ticket booth where there was a man checking the guest list and scanning tickets. Once they were safe in the crowd, they made their way to the track. Checking out the Bikes, Hyunjin whistled when he got to a red one.

The bike was almost the same colour of his hair, and he loved it. “How much do you think that shit cost me?” A man yelled. Hyunjin and his friends looked over to where a man was yelling on the phone. “Almost a MILLION!! And you want me to sell it? ABSOLUTELY NOT.”

Changbin pointed out the man's watch, and Hyunjin couldn't help but laugh. The man was wearing a beat up FastTrack watch. It looked like it had cost him about 15 dollars.

After a few minutes, the race started. The red Bike was racing a black Mustang. Two laps into the race, Hyunjin got bored. He told Changbin he was going to go see what food they had, and then wandered off. But of course, he ran into trouble…

This show, My Stubborn, and Pit Babe all have too many side couples which is such a pity because it leaves each side couple with an unsatisfying amount of screen time. It's like the production companies want to attract as many viewers as possible by creating a wide variety of side couples but then they don't have enough screen time to give them a satisfying arc. It's so frustrating! Anyways, Zee and Nunew are doing amazing and the NC scene was fire, even if I would have loved to see Khanin take control for longer than he did.

I've finally finished reading the main part of this book and I really like it, though I wouldn't recommend it to non My Stubborn fans. I do have a bunch of thoughts on the book and how it was made into the show so if I can find the time I'll make a post about it. I do feel like Sorn had the beard longer in the book but I can't blame them for reducing the beard's screen time because, damn, that beard was a sight for sore eyes 🤭

Same as everyone else it seems, I'm entirely hooked on KimKenta! There's just something very satisfying about seeing someone who's never experienced any kind of love or care and then be shown that they do deserve both of those and more. I wish North and Sonic's story moved forward more but I'm putting it down to "too many side couples" as I mentioned in the part about The Next Prince.

Mr. Fang keeps being creepy af and needs to fuck all the way off, but sadly he is a representation of real people in power in the entertainment industry. Either way I do really appreciate how this show has put a spotlight on some of the darker corners of the entertainment industry.

I'm loving this so much!! It's weird and different and odd but most of it is in a good way. What's particularly wild is that the NC scenes are really freaking good and very explicit which is wild for a pulp. All the NC scenes, however, have so far been fantasies from the romantic interest that appears to be the second lead, so I have a lot of questions but it's not in a bad way.

The plot is plotting but the mains are not main-ing for me. I keep getting stuck on Yo's age and I also don't feel a ton of chemistry between them.

Kit and Shane keep being the best boys and I love their story. Don't know where we're going with Per and Tar but I'm curious. Finally, I am so incredibly frustrated with Kim and Mon's plot line, because The Worst Mom of The Year™ is back to being the worst after her weird act of "joking" last episode, and there keeps being a ton of interesting things they could touch on in relation to her, their relationship, and drama within that, but it never happens which makes me want to skip through their parts.

I'll either be posting on Tuesday next week or it'll be a very reduced recap because I'm off with my family for an extended weekend, but until then ...

I live in hell, lament.

I don't mean to be a hater more than like, what's comedic in the liveblogs to sell the bit. but also whenever i give this fucking serial an inch it throws sand in my eyes and spits on my face. when i go "oh this interaction with children is sweet, i'm glad that Vicky is at least to get some measure of comfort vicariously" they hit me with the "actually one of them might be powered so we have to funnel them into the paramiltary death squad fasttrack" and "Victoria is now going to be a freelance strikebreaker, but this time with Less Oversight". she also wants to fuck her therapist so like, sure. fuck it. i guess we're at that point now.

it's so fucked up very clearly seeing the artifice surrounding the actual genuine compelling core of the story of someone with terminal copbrain due to her trauma and upbringing learning to heal get fucking, impaled fourteen hundred times over by Wildbow moments. There's nascent themes here! of healing! of loss! of taking uneasy, shaky steps forward and trying to mesh the inherent hypocrisy of knowing your abuser deserves a second chance but feeling like that you'd rather kill both of you than be the one to give it to them. I Get It. i really do. but also please stop framing the strikebreaking like it's a good thing.

Sorry i just need to go on here to say that it's supremely funny to me that throwing cars in front of people during a panicked evacuation because they disrespected her Special Baby Girl authority is AFTER all of the conflict counselling is so fucking good. Like??? this is after, huh. it's okay since civies aren't people i suppose, just cargo and luggage

I'm not actually sure if wildbow knows what a strike is. "they're not striking, the two construction groups have just banded together to withhold labor", you say? I don't know maybe it's an intentional oversight on the character's part but at least mention that, goddamn. was he really that proud of the insult Glory Hole to use it twice, too? every time he tries to be witty i genuinely sink into my seat and start boiling alive in second-hand shame. that flirting scene was fucking terrible and the "wow so witty" he gave himself was fucking terrible.

^Wild thing to put slip in there, by the way. "yeah they acted like a union, y'know, making sure the kids were educated, sane, not being SLUTS, not being abused, etc etc"

These writeups aren't edited or like cohesive or coherent at all almost entirely because if wildbow doesn't feel the need to why should i. fuck off, it's ward.

oh right! the therapy group! the therapy group pisses me off so much dude I hate that i love them all i hate that their dynamics are good i hate that they have good chemistry and play off each other and that they feel believable and I hate that i'm gonna read more of this just to see them. Fuck me

uhhh lemme just go down the list... I haven't been given enough information on Chris but I'm liking what i'm seeing tbh, he's cagey and kind of idealistic but also he's like. 13. that's just how they are it's very convincing

Kenzie is good! i like her! she[realises i'm gonna write "is very convincing and compelling for all of these] uhhhhh mirrors a lot of the hangups i had as a kid but also I do in fact completely understand why everyone else wanted me Not In Danger back then

Ashley is too good and hot for Victoria "Cop" Dallon. that is all.

Byron and Tristan are a really interesting character concept to me actually; I have cogent thoughts whirling around in my brain but the only joke i have is that what if they starred in a variant of All or Nothing wouldn't that be fucked up

Rain O' Fire Frazier. She's so trans-coded it's unreal. I love her and how fucked up she is and how she's literally just in this to not get Murderized by her metaphorical family. Girl Same. It is really funny that she gets introduced with a functional kanji pun,

shows up with all her shit fucked up and cracked,

and then leaves with the closest thing of explicit lesbianism that Wildbow has written other than Victoria Dallon's weird thing with the milf therapist.

but from what i hear of Wildbow i'm pretty sure he'll add in a passage about her wanting to settle down with a nice Decidedly Male guy and get pregnant or whatever.

the main thing about Sveta is that she goes "well i *see* myself as disabled" while being like. a quadruple amputee. girl if you are not disabled who is

god. i love these characters. it's such a shame that they're gonna become cops. i hate it here. i hate that i'm gonna read like 1.8 million more words of this. fuck me. fuuuuuuuuuuck.
