Zone 3 rock: I think the words left unsolved are names, something celtic due to the scottish gaelic phrase
Edit:
Fire might actually be air with an e “Aire”. Fits the whole storm theme better than fire, just didn’t think we were getting different spelling.

Myth and Magic
+++
The Sky Kingdom was unlike anything Seften had ever imagined.
Great islands floated in the sky, encrusted with ice. Flying residents filled the skies around them, darting here and there like a flock of starlings in the autumn sky as they went about their business, sometimes in clusters, and sometimes flooding out of the way for a larger flyer. They were not with the only dragon in he sky, although to Seften’s eyes, Hoarfrost was the biggest.
Bridges strung between the many islands in a spiderweb, although it was clearly more organized than it appeared. None of the flyers seemed to tangle themselves in the long, hanging bridges, and none of the walkers aboard the bridges were ever knocked free by the flyers.
The buildings were a mash of all kinds of cultures, from the steep-sloped rooves of the far north, to the many-layered stucco buildings of the desert folk, wrought here in ice, not clay.
As they circled, Seften realized there were markets in the heart of every island. Bright with banners and the wares of a dozen peoples or more, they were comfortingly similar to the ones on the ground. Whatever else was going on in this strange place, the people were still people, and Seften knew how to manage himself around them.
Mithale was smiling, her cheeks bright with the cold air around them. As they were flying, she had dropped the illusions she wore on the distant ground. It was, she had explained, easier to be recognizable here.
Not all of the people who filled the Sky Kingdom were welcoming to visitors, but most would recognize her on sight, and few of them would be willing to pick a fight if they did.
The story of her final mission with Aelsrik, to fight a mad god, was well-known. That she was here, alive and breathing, told everyone that she, at least, had survived it.
(The main landing pad is just there,) Hoarfrost said, just a little grumpy still, although it was clear that he was pleased to be back in the Sky Kingdom. He was a creature of the deepest ice, and he enjoyed the biting cold of this high kingdom. (You said that is where you wish to go?)
“it is,” Mithale called to him. “We’re meeting Fimbul Farwinter.”
(I don’t care who you’re meeting,) Hoarfrost huffed, although Seften suspected it was a lie. The dragon was close friends with Mithale’s lost husband, and he was helping them now in the hopes of rescuing Aelsrik. He might grumble and hiss about it, but no dragon did anything they didn’t want to do. If he was really as annoyed about the whole thing as he pretended, he would never have allowed them into his lair in the first place. (Why do you want a little ice sprite?)
“She knows how to find and capture lightning-charged tornadic cloud-ice,” Mithale explained. Seften’s breath caught in his throat. Mithale had explained cloud-ice to him, but he knew as well as anyone that capturing a component with several elemental traits in one was difficult at best. To capture cloud-ice, which was water and ice at once, with lightning and the winds of a tornado… it was power unlike he could imagine. Then again, that was true of all the components Mithale needed for her spell. “And I know her price to do it.”
(Do you need anything of my people?) It was an oddly hesitant question considering how annoyed Hoarfrost was with them, but again, his fondness for Aelsrik must be driving him forward. (Are any of your components of dragonkind?)
“If they were any you could give, I would call on you before any other,” Mithale said and leaned forward to press her hand to the dragon’s neck. “I already have a dragon heart, torn from an enemy that would have laid waste to this world. I would not take yours, my friend, when the heart of an enemy serves my purposes as well and does not cost the life of a friend.”
Hoarfrost didn’t answer, but he did rumble beneath them, and circled down onto the wide landing pad that boasted enough room for a dozen dragons Hoarfrost’s size. He swooped down according to some unseen signal, and landed almost delicately on the great landing field.
Before Seften could move, the dragon trotted out of the way of the other creatures coming in to land, towards an area that was clearly designed for larger flyers carrying passengers. He stopped next to a tall staircase and planted himself beside it. (As requested. Here you are.)
The dismissal was clear. Seften wasted no time gathering up his bedroll and steadying Mithale as she did the same to dismount from their barely-willing ride. When they were on the sand-salted ground, Mithale circled to face Hoarfrost head-on. For a moment Seften wondered if they would fight, certainly Hoarfrost had already tried to harm them once, but instead, she let the dragon press his nose to her belly.
(When the fledgling comes,) he said, and nosed her so gently she didn’t even rock on her heels despite his great size. (And you have recovered Aelsrik, come to see me. No child should live their life on the ground.)
“We will,” Mithale promised, and bent to kiss the dragon between his eyes. He hissed at her, but even to Seften, who knew little of dragon noises, it sounded playful. “Thank you. You’ve given us the priceless gift of time. It would have taken moons to get here without you.”
(Get him out of Hell. I still owe him a debt, and I don’t want to go to the Shadow Gates to pay him back.)
With those final words, he leapt for the sky, and left only a rush of ice-scented wind in his wake.
Mithale watched him go and sighed, one hand pressed to her still-flat belly. When he was out of sight, she turned to Seften and offered him a smile as she bound up her bedroll and tucked it back into her pack.
“Come on,” she said as he did the same and made himself ready to follow her wherever they were going next. “We have an appointment with an ice sprite to keep.”

ENDLESS W'S FOR MY PREDICTIONS!!!!!!
ahem. Winter apocalypse needs to be addressed
So the Avatars are confirmed to not actually originate as overseers of Lore so much as they wrested control and placed themselves above everyone else in the elemental planes. Some elves are old enough to remember and record times previous to the elemental war, were appeased originally by having Champions born among them (or maybe only elves could be Champions originally because they were attuned to magic, then when the Champions taught everyone how to do elemental magic humans etc could become Champions as well) and then have either adapted or become bitter isolationists.
Fimbul is a offshoot from the name Fimbulvetr (thanks fire emblem for helping me tip off to this) which is the endless winter meant to prelude Ragnarok in Norse mythology. Might just be a scary name, but it might be more! Glace and Kyanos killed a Fimbul, a Khion-, and a Al---ch.
Khion- is most likely Khione, who in real world mythology is a goddess of winter. So Al---ch must be some name of some winter related mythological power, unfortunately my brain completely empty of realistic options. So that makes it so Kyanos and Glace killed three winter dieties to prevent a winter apocalypse presumably. Usurping the position of Guardian of Ice Plane maybe? Either way this release was great.

The Warg Matriarch was a giant white Gundabad warg and the steed of Azog. The Warg Matriarch was invented by Warner Bros. for the The Hobbit film series.
The Warg Matriarch is the mother of the other Gundabad wargs of Azog's pack of Orcs. She is shown to get along well with Azog, as Azog can be seen stroking and feeding her throughout his hunt for Thorin.
The first appearance of the Warg Matriarch was when Yazneg and Fimbul returned to Weathertop to report their failure in capturing Thorin and Company. Azog rides her in all three The Hobbit films, and she even accompanies her master to Dol Guldur. She is last seen when Azog is leading an orc army towards Erebor. It is unclear if she survives the Battle of Five Armies or not.

Aqw’s Structure of Existence Theory Pt2
Upper Planes dont have a better name
Funny enough this is the more simpler one to explain, despite having only a bit of info on them.
True gods that are also considered alien to Lore if Fimbul calling the Hero an interloper holds any weight. They can influence existence as a whole through their domains depending on what it is, either through their power alone or through their followers (ie Infamy and doom spirits). Their realms on different planes of existence and can’t easily be accessed unless a god is the one opening the way, but another god could block access (Malgor keeping the Hero out of the Timestream for a bit).
With the exception of EDoT and Adimonde, all of the gods are considered dead and mostly forgotten. EDoT for obvious reasons and Adimonde for some other reason that hasn’t been shown yet (probably from just chilling in his realm or a special Fiend Shard). Adimonde could also be dead since we’ve been shown them as a floating mask, and they just manage to escape being tripped in the Mana Core. The OWO isn’t completely forgotten since the Mysterious Stranger still remembers Infamy (if they’re the god of Doom, but thats all but confirmed at this point) and their goal, so there’s probably others factions that would remember the other gods either on Lore or in space.
There had to be some sort of council or a criteria to determine who to ascend to godhood pre Reset. Also there’s issue of how the power is distributed, like is it taken from the original god, is it formed from the newly made concept and needs to grow in strength, or is it from worship of followers. Kathool did seem to get a boost in power from their ascension but the Hero didn’t seem to be affected (tho thats probably because they had so much power to begin with, it was more like a drop in the bucket), and quickly gained followers that could increase their range of influence. The fallout of that will definitely come last after things with OWO is settled, when everyone isn’t threatened with getting snapped for existing without OWO’s approval.
Infamy and Adimonde most likely weren’t ascended by another gods, so there has to be a way for them to ascend by themselves if they didn’t just show up out of nowhere in the beginning of everything — probably by killing and taking the godhood from a god since their goals boils down to conquest. Law and Tranquil are more difficult to determine how they got their godhood, but Law feels like they had it from the beginning and Tranquil would have gotten theirs through diplomatic means or worship. EDoT most like was born with their pre Reset power since time one of the more fundamental concept for the universe.
Kathool would be a minor god of sorts, if only because of the Hero tying them to their existence. They were ascended the same way that OWO would ascend other gods, but with the small changing of wording got placed under the Hero’s control by tying them to their existence. There’s probably going to be a way around or getting out of being tied to the Hero’s existence to be a proper god, but probably a problem for another story arc.
Malgor and the other Speakers would also be demigods of sorts, not ascended to godhood but being born with divinity that allowed them access to the Timestream and the ability to control it.
Theres possible identities for 2/3 gods we do talk to in OWO. Infamy is all but confirmed in game to be the God of Doom — them taking such offense to Gravelyn and Sepulchure ruling the Shadowscythe Empire, stating the shadows came from their throat (weird way of saying creating them), and Gravelyn’s wound being confirmed to be Doom. Law is probably the God of the Creatioux Dragons (maybe the Decadere Dragons too since they’re part of the same species of Void Dragons) — mostly because dragon face mask shape but also since their views regarding Chaos aligns with what the Creatioux’s view is on the Decadere’s use of Entropy from DF. Tranquil is a bit hard to figure out, mostly due to that it was stated in the merge quest for the Mana Core that they were part of a pair with someone else (neither Law or Infamy tho, probably another god that didn’t get the position of being the mouth piece of OWO). It also worth pointing out that these three feel like the representation of the other main games’ timelines that were merged into Aqw’s, and their identities are probably tied to things that hold importance to the stories — Infamy for Mechquest, Law for Dragonfable, and Tranquil for Adventure Quest.
It's also worth pointing out that once someone becomes a god, that position cant be taken away, and the only way to remove them is through killing them — ie Nulgath wanting to usurp Adimonde as Fiend God. Silencing is more a less permanent solution (and a whole other theory post) that still keeps the god alive enough so that they’re not a problem anymore but don’t get rid of their domain or disrupt their influence on the universe. This probably why OWO hasn’t straight up killed Einsolf since there power would mostly go to one person rather than spitting it up between all the dead gods, then that god would be put to sleep/killed and that devolves into a cycle of infighting until there’s not enough gods left to keep that one down and they all get killed.
Another speculation, but gods don’t seem to be by the powers of other gods, or at least not like how it affects mortals. The OWO are aware of the EDoT’s death and the Reset that came of it and seem to be aware of the cycles Malgor went through and the outcomes of it (probably how they know about the 3 threats but not knowing who they are if they aren’t lying about that). Which is good thing since the Hero can become the Champion of Doom, something thats toootally going to work out well and couldn’t go wrong at all what so ever /s.
Space as an element
This is on here solely for the fact that the dragon egg in the Mirror Realm hasn’t been mention in years and thats thing is technically the counterpart to one of the most powerful being in the universe. And with space being set as the counterpart to time in the game, Space Dragon God.
A fun headcanon I have is they play a similar role to the EDoT and the Reset and created the Mirror Realm indirectly — either by just existing or dying in the past.
Mana Core
Just as confusing as the Elemental Planes
A realm that was created from the Reset and condensation of timelines and universes, and an 'Avatar’ that was immediately put in baby jail for just existing.
Contrary to the Elemental Avatars probably just being Champions that raised to the position, Einsof sees more like the personification of the Mana Core. Calling him an Avatar is probably easier to explain or its current way of trying to make sense of him (since the creation of the Elemental Avatars hasn’t been explained yet). It's literally taking all of OWO to keep him asleep and will start waking up if any three of them lose focus, while they were ably to Silence Neso with ease — seems a bit of an understatement and insult to compare him to the regular Avatars.
It feels like Einsof is more the god of all creation than Mana with how powerful he should be (being the personification of mana in a universe that thrives because of mana would do that) and would be above the Hero in terms of power, even with all the stolen power and authority from OWO. There’s also a good chance that actually kill him would also lead to all of existence ending if someone doesn’t take that mantle, probably similar to the Mana Affliction but on a wider and more devastating scale. That’s probably what happened in the Ultra!Malgor timeline, with the Hero taking Einsof’s authority over Mana after killing him.
A fun headcanon of mine is the reason Einsof is basically a child in terms of god years is the fact that he’s technically the embodiment of how old the timeline is, since Aqw’s is technically fairly new.

Woah, so maybe you've already talked about this so in that case, you can redirect me to that post, but what are some of the most common misconceptions you've heard? Or, preconceived ideas that you find stupid?
Okay, so this comes like four days late but I had to sit down and think about it, lol!
Misconceptions about the Viking age in a non-academic answer:
(Putting it under a read more because it dragged out)
Clothing:
Their clothing was much like that pictured in Vikings the TV show. False.
Textiles found in graves like Mammen look like this when they've been reconstructed after detailed analysis of dye pigments, thread counts and what kind of fabric/fur was used:
Tumblr media
Notice the colors and the details. These reconstructions are on display at the Nationalmuseum of Denmark, and pieces of the original textiles are also on display there.
Tumblr media
Notice the clothes in this picture here as well. There is a noticeable lack of "dark" leather and grim colors and IKEA-fake furs thrown onto the shoulders of the men Game of Thrones style.
We have a lot of accurate finds for textiles and reenactors have their picks to choose from. What Vikings did was basically what Wagner did with his Die Niebelungen and went "what do I think the Vikings looked like and I will disregard all the archaeological evidence". Worst part is that The History Channel is the producer behind Vikings which makes it look like it's historically accurate.
It is not.
Timeline
People usually say the Viking age started with Lindisfarne in 793, but the Vikinge age started earlier - sometime during the Migration Period (years 200-800).
The ships that attacked the monastery at Lindisfarne didn't pop up out of the blue - drakkars and viking pillaging must have existed before 793. Lindisfarne is just the first written source we have of a viking raid in England.
Let's look at the Fimbul Winter in Norse Mythology: we now know that it relates to the volcanic winter of 536. Many gold artefacts were sacrificed to bogs and the gods around that period, possibly as an offering to the gods to end the winter. A good example of these items are the Golden Horns of Gallehus ("Guldhornene"):
Tumblr media
They are usually associated with the Viking age but are dated to the early 5th century - aka BEFORE where the current books set the Viking age to start.
What Vikings also does is establish that all the discovering Ragnar and his sons do, the Vikings did within the span of 2 generations - the Viking age lasted from somewhere around the years 500 to somewhere around the year 1200, even though Wikipedia will tell you exactly 793-1066.
They didn't exactly disappear out of the blue.
And their "discoveries" during their expansions didn't all happen within 30 years.
Runes
Only Vikings used Old and New Futhark runes, correct?
Wrong!
Elder Futhark runes were used already in the 2nd century and all the way up into the 8th, where as Younger Futhark runes were used from the 9th until the 11th. In between all of that are Anglo-Saxon runes, Medieval runes (used up until the 15th century!)
And, surprisingly, runes were not only used for "weird religious shit" but also for the state of the art "Tormund likes boys" and "this belongs to Cnut" things.
There is a difference between the use of Runes and the languages used - Old Norse, Norrønt, Primitive Norse - but that's a longer discussion which a tumblr post couldn't do justice.
There are only the Elder Edda and Prose Edda as sources about Norse myths and legends
False.
The eddas are only two of the written sources we have on the Viking age.
The Poetic Edda contained in the Codex Regius manuscript, dated from the 13th century.
The Prose Edda (written by Snorri Sturluson) is also dated to approx 1220.
Knowing we established further up that the Viking age "ended" in 1066, these two sources are biased with their contemporary views on the stories they've written down. It's the equivalent of someone in 2022 writing down stories from another culture from anywhere between 1500 and 1800 - there's bound to be modern and cultural bias take into account with it.
We have the Gesta Danorum (from 12th century Saxo Grammaticus), runestones (sprinkled from the 4th til the 12th century), the Konungasögur, the Íslendingasögur, the samtímasögur, but we also have the lost texts like the Skjolungesaga (Scylding Saga), etc.
Beowulf could also be interpreted as a source on things Norse.
You can browse the Heimskringla webpage for sources on Old Norse source materials here.
"Modern day vikings"
Wardruna, Danheim and Heilung, etc. are not making "authentic" Viking age music. We have found music instruments of different kinds, but nothing actually played 1000+ years ago has survived this far - we have the words to the Voluspa and the other texts that are poems, and we have instruments.
Do with that as you will!
Nordic animism, neo-pagans and modern day Asatrú are not what the Viking age contemporaries did - we can't know for sure because we don't have sources we can trust about it this far.
We have reenactors who do their best to be as historically accurate as possible, but the problem with that is that what we know of the Viking age (and how far they went into the world and how long they existed) all depends on archaeological finds - and historical finds.
Until very recently, the location of Lejre in Denmark as a seat of power, for example, was thought to be a myth.
And then in 2009 and 2010 they found several early Viking age longhouses in Lejre during an excavation.
Who's to imagine what they find if they keep digging in the area?
It's also why so many new things are showing up from the dirt on Falster in Denmark, where they're building the Femern connection to Germany - archaeologists are working hard to make sure nothing gets lost with modern building.
It changes almost daily.
But we will never know nor be what "ancient" vikings were, because 793 and 2022 are simply two very different worlds to live in.
So, if you want to do a blót ritual and get married under the Ásatrú faith, awesome! But remember it's a modern take on what little we have from the historic ages we take inspiration from.
Tattoos and hair
Don't get me started on those.
We have no archaeological evidence of tattoos in the viking age and hairstyles are dubious at best. The best witnesses we have for hairstyles are bog bodies, and there aren't a lot of those from the Viking age due to the way the Vikings paid their respects to the dead.
Modern "viking" hairstyles are just that. Modern interpretations of what once was.
