Why does God Allow?

Sitting in this comfy bed, dark room, with the laptop on my lap, tears are streaming down my face. There's Soba accompanying me silently on my left side. A thousands thought passed through my mind.

I will be honest: My faith faltered.

I remember reading this on Twitter a couple days ago "God feeds the birds. But He doesn't drop the food in their mouths". And I understand that there is a part I have to play in experiencing God's provision.

I work hard. Anything I could. Anything. Grateful for every single things God provides. I try my best to be satisfied and happy regardless of income. But the past few weeks have been too harsh on me. I am suffocating. Every morning even before I start my day, I am worried.

I do sometimes share my burdens to my sisters but that's that. Minutes after we ended the conversation I am busy with my mind again. Feel like my brain burns calories.

God loves when His child turns to Him in difficult moments, so I locked my room, sat on my bed, closed my eyes, and started to talk to Him. "Hi again, Tuhan" I bursted into tears before even finishing my first sentence. "You see me struggling. I don't understand where will You take me but please show me direction and strength. Do not let me down in depression again. I need help".

The days pass and I sometimes see God directs me to the right place to get support; my sisters (Kak Sil, Indi, Afrini). I am behind but He allows them to support me. Most of the time I consider myself selfish for asking help too much. Why do I think that it's only me who wants to live a life of ease, that I must have receive supports whenever I am in need.

Never that I have thought that God should give me a sudden windfall, inheritance, debt-free, lottery whatsoever. I have never wanted God to answer my prayers in ways that simply are not realistic. Am I being greedy? Did I do something that God forbids? Am I being a jerk to the people around me? I ask God to give me strengths and direction. I don't see the reason why would God let me suffer.

I have been crying for over an hour now. I don't feel any better. But writing this note does comfort me a bit. Talking about God comforts me. It's 22.43 and I will pray again before I go to bed and rest my mind.

"Halo Tuhan Yesus. Selamat malam. Makasih buat berkat hari ini. Buat nafas kehidupan yang baru. Buat berkat yang baru. Kesempatan yang baru. Tuhan aku minta maaf kalau aku sering buat Tuhan kecewa. Maaf kalau aku sering buat Tuhan sakit hati. Terkadang kebodohanku membuatku menjadi orang jahat dan serakah. Mungkin aku kurang bersyukur. Mungkin aku kurang sabar. Aku manusia biasa, Tuhan, perlu teguran dari Tuhan biar hidupku lebih baik. Tuhan, Kau lihat isi hatiku. Perasaan yang dulu kembali lagi. Merasa gagal dan sendirian. Merasa takut setiap hari. God, I know You are in control, for You are the God of possibility. There's nothing on this side of the eternity that is impossible for You to work out. Please turn me into an abundant blessing. Here's my prayer for an immediate financial help. Remind me that tomorrow I will receive another jaw-dropping blessing. I receive financial stability tomorrow and for the rest of my life. Selamat malam Tuhan. Amen."

Hey! It's 2022

January 1st, 2022.

I am sitting on my desk, realizing that it's not possible for me to go back to 2021. On my left side, Soba is in a deep sleep- it's raining outside.

I didn't do much today. There's no customer, I don't have things to do whatsoever. 

I have the universe in my head, but I don't seem to know how to put it into words lol. I am so thankful to be alive, despite all the struggles I have been facing last year. To be very honest, it was a very rough year to me. Adapting the process is the hardest, let alone the fact that I am new to this. But it's 10 months only, and I survive! Not being greedy, but I am planning on a new small business too- in hope I can survive another year.

Happy New Year, me. 

Thank you for being kind to yourself. Thank you for being there. Thank you for standing up again and again and again. I know it's not easy- nobody said so, so trust in yourself! We can go through this. You are surrounded by amazing people. We can do this.

Apa perlunya menanyakan kabar?

Kapan terakhir kali kamu melihat kontak di handphonemu? Mungkin sudah berhari- hari atau bahkan dalam hitungan minggu, kamu tidak pernah lagi melihat kontak- kontak tersebut, sehingga tidak lagi tahu bagaimana kabar teman dan saudara sendiri.

Memang perlu? Menurutku, a simple question seperti ‘How are you?' bukan sekedar basa basi saja. Kalimat singkat ini sangat bermakna bagi orang yang memang sedang tidak baik- baik saja, meskipun mereka berkata sebaliknya. Bahkan bagi mereka yang benar sedang baik- baik sajapun, pertanyaan ini juga dapat menciptakan rasa bahagia sejenak di dalam hati, mengetahui ada orang yang menyisihkan 1 menit waktunya untuk menanyakan kabar. Biasanya akan diikuti oleh senyuman kecil lalu berusaha secepat mungkin untuk membalas pesan tersebut.

Sama seperti kita, oang lain juga memiliki berbagai permasalahan dalam hidupnya, tidak terkecuali mereka yang masih hidup dan menanggung hidup sendiri. Meski banyak yang berasumsi kehidupan rumahtangga itu lebih sulit, namun yang hidup sendiri juga sering kali problematic.

Jika dalam 24 jam kita menyisihkan 1 menit saja untuk menanyakan kabar ke salah satu teman, mari coba hitung, ada berapa orang yang akan kita berikan senyuman setiap hari. Ada berapa orang yang akan merasa diperhatikan oleh kita. Ada berapa orang yang akhirnya akan connect lagi dengan kita.

Jadi, apa kabar hari ini?
