Her name is Finchen and she has such an endearing design. She was originally a male character when introduced in 1983 but has been a female character since the early 90s

I love cats very much. I have never really had a cat but I have lived for a month in an apartment and the woman renting me the apartment was away most of the time so I was responsible for the cat. her name was finchen which is the snail from german sesame street and she had one eye missing (she had seen some shit (I'm so sorry that joke never gets old for me)) and she had the silliest but most clearly articulated set of boundaries of any living creature I have ever encountered. If i was sitting or lying down she NEEDED to be sitting on me. but if I tried to pet her she would bite me. sits only no pets. I was like ok, finchen. we can work with this.

(my partner is allergic to cats so there are no cats in my future. it's a funny quirk of timing, that. if we'd met a bit later I probably would have ended up getting a cat before meeting him, and we'd have had a lovely first date that would have ended with me being like "I have a cat" and him being like "I am allergic." and then my life would have been completely different.)

sorry not sorry to the french but the italians really went the fuck off with cheeses. mozzarella and burrata and parmesan (fun fact i had to google all three of those to get the correct spelling) are the holy trinity. don't be like mozzarella and burrata are the same I hate you mozz is for melting burrata is for eating cold.

Lukas ist der durchaus sympathische Protagonist in dieser Serie. Obwohl, Finchen ist es vielleicht doch noch mehr. Oder gar uns Udo? Man weiß es nicht. Sicher ist aber, dass die Story mal wieder einmalig war.

So I just learned that in the German version of Sesame Street (Sesamstraße) they have this little snail called Finchen, who was a male character until the early 90s, that's when they changed the gender to female.
