From my listing on Poshmark: “WoodFired Footed Dish. Polka Dot exterior design & Beautiful Green Glaze inside.
This ceramic piece can be used or displayed. It makes a nice soy dish for dipping sushi or salt pinch pot,
Made by hand in the Minge Sota (sp?) and wabi sabi styles- drawing from both ancient & modern inspirations & fired in an Anagama Kiln. The exterior design is a multi step decorating process using wax resist & slips . One slip is a light yellow hue, the other dark. Black/blue. The darker side has wood ash on it from this unique & old Japanese firing style. The clay body is stoneware. The artist/potter chop mark is missing. But its made by ARTjgm.
It can go in the dishwasher & microwave but do not put it on the stove/oven - do not thermal shock it. 1 tiny chip on the top edge, but don’t consider it a flaw by the nature of this aesthetic style. Natural variations in surface and form from the hand forming & special firing processes.
This piece has some flashing’. Flashing is a desirable effect from atmospheric firing, leaving unique pink, red, orange, yellow hues. This kiln goes to over 2400 degrees Fahrenheit. It’s a very labor intensive firing process which increases its cost & value.
Comes in a box for safekeeping or gifting.
I am downsizing & selling my art collection. This was a part of my collection. Its about 3.75 x 2 inches.
I will float box it - proper way to ship breakables. “

#TwoForTuesday:
The KX Painter
Drinking cup (skyphos) with confronting lions
Archaic Period, c. 585–570 BCE
Greece, Attica, Athens
Ceramic, Black Figure, H 11.2 cm (4 7/16 in.)
Museum of Fine Arts, Boston 97.366
"On the obverse, two lions stand confronted with their chests touching and their faces turned backwards towards the vessel’s handles. Each of the lions is rendered in black paint. Their manes, mouths, chests and bellies are all detailed with red paint, while the locks of hair along their necks alternate in color between red and black. Details of the lions’ anatomy are articulated with incisions. Their ferocity is implied especially by their open mouths, which display their large teeth and projecting tongues. On reverse, a complex interlocking lotus and palmette motif fills the entire pictorial field. The rim and handles of the vessel are decorated with thin linear bands. The lions and the lotus and palmette motif stand atop a red bounding line, below which is a pair of gridded lines and another red bounding line, which is in turn bordered by a ray pattern that emanates from the cup’s foot."

And above those tiers are the fine art horses - the bisques, the porcelains, the ceramics, the stonewares, the bronzes. But no one is mad enough to collect those. You save up to buy one or two and then you die :')

HI I'M STILL NOT DEAD
Here's a lil WIP gen 1 Pokémon sculpture I've been working on! I unloaded it from the kiln this morning but Pikachu fell and broke so I need to do some repairs and re-glaze before they'll actually be done!
Btw I'm up on Cara now!
Also check out my other socials, web, etc. on my new Carrd!
