dream of mine is slowly turning into a reality! I've always wanted to produce my own toys, and I have made the decision to host a Kickstarter campaign to release these guys into the world! Welcome the DeskPets!

DeskPets are animal buddies with personality that you can use to populate your desktop for a fun and inviting ambience. My first three figures include Brucie (Hello Brucie . . . ) the great white, Hammie the hammerhead, and Son of FishBot (a chibi version of my popular FishBot sculpt from 2017).

They are made through the sofubi vinyl method, and can be easily customized! If you do customize yours, please make sure to tag me so I can see what you've created!

I am ecstatic to be able to release my first Kickstarter in connection with my time at DesignerCon this year! My hope is for this campaign to be a catalyst to me being able to successfully create more toys in the future including more DeskPet buddies and my forever favorites, the Food Demons! Keep an eye open for updates on that later!

heres the process.

color cards with boiled down coffee and turmeric, iron them flat cuz they like to warp, do outlines name and stats then sketch out then ink, i grid both my physical card and the reference to better make sure proportions are correct.

also bones, the in-game version is hard to sculpt every time, but making little bone shapes is fun. im not amazing a painting lol

Burgundy!Sollux - telosAutotelic

Sollux dies pre-SGRUB, and can't bring up the energy to care about anything anymore, let alone his whole red and blue schtick. Shortly after the game begins, he's "gifted" a new robot body by Equius in return for having done some extensive troubleshooting for him in the past. He's horrified to find his new metal husk has all the features wrong- the horns are wrong, the teeth are wrong, fuck, even the stupid red and blue are wrong, and he hates it so much - he had no idea he could even feel hate anymore - he only uses it when it's more efficient to be a robot than a ghost. He quite literally doesn't have the time to fuck around these days. Equius is miffed his psychological warfare to get Sollux pitch with him fails so spectacularly.

Mutant!Sollux - tacticsAllogeneics

Sollux tells everyone he has red blood, but no one believes him because that's totally not a thing. This is all according to keikaku (Keikaku means plan). Despite this, everyone seems to think he's a pretty cool dude, and so when SGRUB comes around, everyone kind of just looks to him to lead. His only experience with leading is strategy games and a few FLARP sessions. He's absolutely miserable. He ends up learning just how fucked up his friends are in the thinkpans, and it falls on him to have to try and haul their asses into being useful. It causes some ire with his friends who come to the conclusion he sees them as chess pieces rather than people, but really he just wants to get through this game without people kicking the metaphorical bucket. He's forced to play the healer in video games.

Purple!Sollux - tamedAnimus

Sollux is the descendant of one of the most notorious purplebloods of all time, who had the art of subjuggulating down to a science, and he wants nothing to do with his legacy or the church, only maintaining a few rituals out of routine habit. He's found a good couple of heretics who are pretty chill, and as loathe as he is to admit it, he wants to see them thrive. He makes a conscious effort to keep his violent highblooded tendencies in check for them, though his mood swings are both frequent and intense. One problem, a rather big one, is that he can quite literally feel the emotions of those around him, hyper-empathetic to the point where strong emotions from his peers during the game give him migraines. When things start kicking off and people start dying, Sollux acts on the fear, panic, and rage that's flooding him like adrenaline and attacks two of his friends, losing his eye in the process. When everything cools down, guilt eats him into hypervigilance, leaving him paranoid and self-destructive.

Violet!Sollux - trenchantAnglerfish

Sollux has spent his entire life deep underwater, where few seadwellers dare to live. The Continental Catfish keeps itself well fed but Nepeta has difficulty finding the thing most days, so Sollux's small army of fishbots keep an eye on it for her, tracking its movements. Because he's never gone above water, he's something of a NEET, and Nepeta is glad she can push him onto some of her friends when the game starts because he really needs to get out more. He's not the worst, all things considered; he's somewhat petty and spiteful when wronged, but this is mostly a result of his on-again, off-again relationship with Karkat, who happens to think he's a huge tool with an even bigger ego (and his best friend). The first thing he alchemizes is a pair of dark-tinted glasses for his extreme light sensitivity.

Splatoon 3 Side Order Theory #7: It's Not Her (Pearlbot Theory)

So... that recent post about Pearl from NoA, huh? Although I have a feeling this is yet another goof up made by NoA when it comes to translating a Splatoon game (points to the "inkfish can't drink water because it's lethal to them" translation goof up; water's only lethal to inklings if they're, like, completely submerged into it), maybe there is a grain of truth to this translation...

I want y'all to take a good look at this logo on the color pallete...

Now take a peek at the back of Pearlbot (as seen towards the beginning of the trailer) (I edited the lighting so what I wanna show y'all is eaiser to see)

The same logo on the pallate is on Pearlbot's back.

This same infinity logo is on the currency used in the DLC.

What could this all mean? Well, first off, the infinity logo most likely belongs to the Spire of Order (in all honesty, Order Tower is easier to say and better sounding so I will most likely continue to call the Spire of Order the Order Tower in these theories). The logo's plastered everywhere on the Order Tower's non-fishbot tech. Where am I going with this? Well...

I propose a theory. Let's assume what the NoA translation is true. What if this drone's just claiming to be Pearl? Well, I believe that the drone might not actually be piloted by Pearl at all. As far as we know, people close to Marina (or at least was close with her, considering dedf1sh was also dragged into all of this as well; still super happy dedf1sh is actually in the DLC and not just a background musician!!!) were sucked into this version of the square. Agent 8 and dedf1sh got sucked into this reality as they were (you know, not as drones), while Pearl is a drone. What I've been lead to believe is that the drone isn't actually piloted by Pearl nor Pearl is the drone itself; I think this drone's an imposter (insert Among Us joke here).

The drone might've actually came from the folks in charge of the Order Tower and could just be pretending to be the actual Pearl. I mean, it isn't too far fetched to believe that the drone's an AI pretending to be the actual Pearl because we already have AI that thinks its the character its supposed to potray (character.ai). Maybe this drone was built to mimic the real Pearl for a certain purpose, which could be to lure Agent 8 into the tower in order for 8's journey up the tower could end (maybe even acompany, perhaps Marina, in the tower, but that's a theory for another day). Maybe the real Pearl is somewhere far away from the Square so she wasn't actually dragged into this reality.

Anyways, although this whole "claiming" thing might just be a NoA goof up, maybe there is a grain of truth in that translation we just don't know about yet. Anyways, tell me what y'all think this all means in da coments/reblogs!

He’s done!! I finished printing him on my Form 2 yesterday and decided to do a rough assembly for an Instagram post. I’m hoping to finish this one up and maybe do another print for a blind-auction, so stay tuned!
