dream of mine is slowly turning into a reality! I've always wanted to produce my own toys, and I have made the decision to host a Kickstarter campaign to release these guys into the world! Welcome the DeskPets!

DeskPets are animal buddies with personality that you can use to populate your desktop for a fun and inviting ambience. My first three figures include Brucie (Hello Brucie . . . ) the great white, Hammie the hammerhead, and Son of FishBot (a chibi version of my popular FishBot sculpt from 2017).

They are made through the sofubi vinyl method, and can be easily customized! If you do customize yours, please make sure to tag me so I can see what you've created!

I am ecstatic to be able to release my first Kickstarter in connection with my time at DesignerCon this year! My hope is for this campaign to be a catalyst to me being able to successfully create more toys in the future including more DeskPet buddies and my forever favorites, the Food Demons! Keep an eye open for updates on that later!

He’s done!! I finished printing him on my Form 2 yesterday and decided to do a rough assembly for an Instagram post. I’m hoping to finish this one up and maybe do another print for a blind-auction, so stay tuned!

Freedom - Speed sculpt

I work at Walt Disney Imagineering as a 3D Concept Modeler.  I use a lot of ZBrush, and I also help others in the various model shops to learn how to use ZBrush.  I started a ZBrush group as a way to help motivate my coworkers to explore and push their creativity with the software.  Part of that group is a challenge where I issue a theme monthly.  This month, the theme has been Freedom.  

I’ve had a lot of fun with this speed sculpt over the past couple of weeks.  I’m just about to a point where I’ll be calling her done, but I wanted to share a bit of what I had put together.

It was funny. At one point I tried giving him ears and decided it was just way too goofy. Then a short while later, my kids came in and graced the channel with shark commentary 🦈 It was awesome.

The Birth of Liberty

“Stand fast in that liberty wherewith ye have been made free.” Happy Independence Day. This year marks 243 years since the Declaration of Independence was signed declaring us a free nation. I am grateful to live in a land where I enjoy a life of liberty with my family. I am grateful for those who put everything on the line so many years ago to lay a foundation of freedom for future generations. I am grateful for those who have preserved and do still preserve our freedom. ArtStation challenge from December: Feudal Japan.

This is my original take on Amaterasu.  I would likely do a lot of things differently, and would probably end up with a very different character design in the end, but this was a fun side project.

A work in progress from an old character design prompt: Avatar Legend of Korra redesign (Old-Western).  I took Amon in the direction of a rebel Shaman doctor.  There’s still a ways to go for him to be finished, but he’s coming along well.
