Summary
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Forgotten Myths #2: As the fire giants of Muspelheim rumble about war, Baldr and Loki…
These are tales, myths of another time, another place... From the farthest reaches of Deepspace— They are chronicled as golden sands, shooting stars, and a lofty Tower. But you know it's just a story between you and him.
I now know too much about how the lyre was played in ancient Greece and, like with art of horse riding where someone's not holding the reins right or not sitting with their heels down in the stirrups, I stare at the hands and go "that's not right" to myself for modern art featuring a lyre being played by a Greek myth character.
Those who read the Timberclan Opening post may have have seen mention of Steel, the cat who helped sparked the revolution that aided in the deserters' escape. An unlikely and unhappy revolutionary, he'd never wanted the position that his passions earned him. If you want you can read more about him here!
It seemed the gods were indeed merciful when they were granted a bit of respite before the onslaught that would no doubt occur at Moonrise Towers.
The camp was shrouded by the protection of the pixie's bell. It kept the shadow curse at bay, though it did little to liven the scenery, still, Lark found a bit of comfort in the muted coppery leaves of the sick-stricken trees that gave their camp shelter.
She strolled along the walkways in her sapphire dress. It was too early to sleep and too dangerous to go out beyond the protective confines of the camp, but they would survive. They always do.
While most of her companions sought rest in their own solitude or in the arms of each other, Lark had a destination in mind. With a plate full of food, she quickened her pace to find Venore's lodgings.
When she found him, she wasted no time in settling beside him. She sat down and smoothed out the tendrils of her dress. The thin cotton made it comfortable on the oncoming warm nights. Canting her head to the side, she gazed at Venore with curiosity. She held out the plate for him to take.
❝ Here. ❞ She said simply. ❝ I noticed you haven't eaten and you should. Tomorrow is going to be hell. ❞
{ ooc. I still think it's absolutely wild that from the war 3000 years before xy until the events of xy, xerneas, yveltal and presumably zygarde's names were almost lost to time.
Like, only one person in the entirety of Kalos (aside from Lysandre) was able to give the names and their relation to the war... but even then that npc thinks it was entirely made up, down to xerneas and yveltal being metaphors or fake figures, so the masses could comfort themselves. Xerneas and yveltal?? Not public knowledge in the modern day. Forgotten about entirely by the world. The war happened and then for 3000 years these deities were never spoken of again until xy
That's actually insane (and further supports the theory that xerneas and yveltal were NOT on humanity's side for the war and were trying to protect the pokemon sent in people's steads).
But also rip serena I'm sure when it got out that she befriended Xerneas during the geosenge incident that caused... a lot of mayhem and media attention she most certainly didn't need-- especially while recovering and processing everything that happened }
Wait.
