Como si, de repente, fuese capaz de ver los pequeños detalles de su voz, su tono, las facciones y la absorción de un conjunto de microexpresiones que no podría descifrar más allá de las que forman parte de los conocimientos generales. Y porque una vez empiezo, no termino; de repente tengo que analizar el color de tus ojos, la textura del pelo, la ropa que llevas puesta, tu piel, tus manos, ¿te muerde las uñas?, la expresión de tus hombros. ¿la mandíbula está apretada, eso del oído es un piercing, tienes pendientes de ranas verdes? Tus ojos están bailoteando en búsqueda de una salida, el tema te aburre, quieres cambiar de conversación o quizás es el exceso de silencio que te inquieta. Y no cesa, cuanto más nos veamos menos cesará, porque más sabré y más querré saber.

¿Pero centrarme solo en la voz? Pacífico, simple y vacío. Es algo que hemos aprendido a masterizar muy bien. Tenemos una voz para cada situación: para cuando quedamos a charlar con los colegas, en el trabajo, en casa, con la pareja…Y el nuestro era el de quedar con una colega: ligeramente enérgico, sin perder la naturalidad, pero monótono, superficial, de risa fácil y chiste básico. Si solo escucho tu voz, me quedo en lo que es y no busco más. Mis ojos buscarán mi necesidad de saber en otra parte. Y quedé con una persona que sabía muy bien la voz que le tocaba poner. [...]

Llegué un momento que me planteé si este tipo de inocuidad condecorada solía ser así antes; era importante planteármelo, porque mi cuerpo reniega de seguir manteniendo el contacto con todo aquél que siga siendo amigo de ella. No tiene espacio en mi vida; no es por tema de valores, superioridad moral, egoísmo o lucha de poder. Cuando pierdes la confianza en la persona que más confiabas, cuando eres conocedora de que serás el drama que se servirá como primer plato a todo su entorno, cuando sabes que vas a ser criticada y representada solo desde su rencorosa perspectiva; el saber, sin duda alguna, que te va a criticar una y otra y otra y otra vez con esas mismas personas con las que te puedes seguir viendo porque entre vosotros no ha “pasado nada”, hasta que ya no le des nada de lo que retroalimentarse y no le quede otra que dejarte en el cajón del olvido; se hace difícil mantenerlos en el mismo sitio. El tema es, que siempre es la misma la que se sale con la suya. Aprendí que no quiero juzgar a la gente a la que quiero, no al menos de aquella forma tan repugnante. Y tampoco quiero que lo hagan de vuelta. Comprendí que eso, para mí, era amor. Igual que tenía que respetar que para otros fuese el hecho de mantener un contacto diario, para mí lo es la forma en la que alguien habla a sus seres queridos y de ellos, cuando no están delante.

A lo mejor habría estado bien haber escrito otro tochazo de mensaje, aclarando cada uno de los puntos por los que decidí poner un punto y final, como hice no mucho antes con otra persona (me estoy luciendo). Pero esta vez, opté por aceptar la “falta de control” y dejar que se muriese lo insalvable. Sin buscar peleas, más conversaciones intensas, “trabajo individual” para “cambiar la perspectiva”; lo que empezó con un “nos hemos hecho daño, vamos a ver cómo se soluciona esto; van a cambiar muchas cosas” ha acabado siendo un.
