My buddy @faitakerusachiko made a sand cake at Riis Beach. It reminded me of Sand Cake: A Frank Asch Bear Story. Did anyone else grow up reading his picture books? It was nice to be at the beach with a pal and be reminded of a happy childhood memory :)

Story walk workshop

As we walked in small groups for the Story walk workshop, I came across 3 beautiful stories which were completely new to me as in my home country we had different story books.

I had a great and new experience in the first story, It was a very new concept for me. Due to the weather conditions we had indoors, I was wondering how fun it would be if we could go to the same workshop outdoors. As we were walking and reading the pages, we were following the instructions written underneath. For example, I was reading a page and the instructions which said "fly like an aeroplane". All my mind could think was to act like an aeroplane. I clicked a selfie too while doing the same. This is one of the ways where children can also feel a sense of belonging as the instructions ask them to perform something which is fun and they are learning in a play way method. The "how does learning happen" document also states, "Participate in social interactions , shared exploration, play, and learning with adults and children" (2014,p p.26). Another example could be, as we were walking and exploring the story in small groups, we were sharing our thoughts and experiences with our classmates. it is a great way to learn new things by discussing it with adults or classmates. The document says " express joy and wonder in their encounters with the environment, the natural world, and other people" (2014, p. 37). This way the children will have a sense of engagement during their learning. Children will also feel sense of well being as this activity includes some physical activity too, such as walking from page to page. Lastly, children will also feel sense of expression as they will be expressing themselves with to their friends, share ideas and interact with each other.

This was the story we chose " The Paper bag princess". We read it in our group and then we started discussing the tasks or instructions we had to put underneath each page. As it was our first time doing it we faced some challenges where we were unable to think of a task and our professor gave us ideas what we could put, her suggestions were helpful and from those ideas we could make instructions for all the pages. Also, as we were working in groups, we had conflicts and disagreements too. Everyone wanted to put their ideas and thoughts as each person thinks differently. Lastly, we all came together with some good instructions and displayed our work.

After displaying our work we went to participate in another group's story walk. It was Moongame by Frank Asch. We were enjoying all the story walks. We were exploring, sharing ideas, discussing and enjoying as they had so many different and funny instructions before going on to the next page. I was amazed to notice the instructions of others as they were so different from ours. I wonder if children will also enjoy engaging in story walks like us. I really want to have an experience of story walk outdoors with children, where I can see them enjoying their learning. Overall, It was a great experience.

2. Best concert you’ve ever been to

Rammstein in Aarhus 2022! I mean, all of my Rammstein concerts have been great and it's difficult to pick the best one but Aarhus was a really powerful experience for me because it was my first time in the Feuerzone & being that close to them.

7. Best closing song

Adieu all the way! most other bands I listen to don't really have any specific closing songs so I can't even confidently say I remember what song they closed with most of the time.

when I saw Rammstein in 2017, they closed with Engel and while that's a great song, I think Adieu works much better as a closing song specifically.

10. Song you went the hardest to in concert

I've already answered this: it was Deutschland, hearing it live for the first time.

before that, just to give a little extra answer here, it was probably Dear Percocet, I Don't Think We Should See Each Other Anymore by Frank Iero and the Patience. went so hard I nearly passed out because I forgot to breathe.

13. Song you want to see most live

for Rammstein I'd say Adios, Asche zu Asche, Los and Spieluhr. I would also love to see Mutter and Meine Tränen despite the fact that I know that hearing either of these live would make me weep.

in terms of other bands, I was lucky enough this year to tick off a couple long-term wishes from my "would love to see live" list, so there isn't a lot to talk about there.

since you mentioned Die Toten Hosen in your answer, if I ever get to see them live, I'd absolutely love to hear Die Letzte Schlacht, Entschuldigung, es tut uns leid! and Unser Haus (because I always need to pick at least one melancholic ballad).
