Man this Huion has caused me more grief than the shitty old tablet I had before it.

it's not really the fault of the hardware though - last year I had problems with it and thought it was because the connection cord started fraying, so I went to get it replaced. I'm kind of against just ordering shit from the internet when I can help it and I thought, hey, there's like an electronics store down the road, they'll probably have it. No dice. Huh?

They tell me to go some place, little car accessories store a ways out on the highway. A nightmare to get to. A trek to walk to from the station and a pain to wait for the bus out in the baking highway sun. Whatever. I get two of the cables.

Turns out the frayed cord wasn't the problem. Windows just fucked with all my tablet settings. OK. Fine. At least I have spares now.

No I don't, the second one just broke. I think they must've been really badly made because that metal joining bit on the end just ripped out like a loose tooth, on both of them. Some real hardware gore. You hate to see it. I was trying to dig up the frayed cable for a while because at least it worked but I might've gotten rid of it already.

I found a place that's closer that had a USB adapter for the Huion cord, though. Apparently this type of mini USB is mostly used for GPS, the guy at the counter seemed surprised I needed one for a drawing tablet - "are you sure it isn't a USB C cable?" [smiling] nope, it's not a USB C cable, I have those.

idk though, you don't really think too much about like, specialty electronics unless you are into some kind of specialty niche - like analogue audio/video, or cameras or whatnot - you'd just think any place with lots of cables on offer would have to have one that works, hahaha.

The Realme C53 is set to be launched in India on July 19. The company announced in a press release that the launch event will begin at 12 p.m. that day. The Chinese brand already launched this smartphone in Malaysia in May, but this variant appears to be different from the model set to launch in India. In Malaysia, the phone is equipped with an unspecified octa-core SoC capable of 1.82GHz and a 5,000mAh battery with 33W wired SuperVOOC fast charging support. It has a dual rear camera unit and comes in two colours Mighty Black and champion Gold.
