KakaIru + Those Four Guys From Naruto
I'll assume you've seen the original versions with the canon couples. (I'd link it but have no idea what the OG really is). Now it's the gae version.
#kakairu#koteizu#Genrai#Naruto#Those two guys from Naruto#those two guys from naruto but it's not those two guys#genma shiranui#namiashi raidou#hagane kotetsu#izumo kamizuki#the funniest bit of this is that izumo's screencap isn't edited. Demon Possessed Izumo canon#Also funny that literally 2 seconds after that he's already putting his anger behind because he had a DUO battle tactic idea#Izumo: *is ready to falcon punch Kotetsu into another dimension after embarrassing him in front of 2 ANBU jonin*#Also Izumo: *includes his buddy his friend his sun and stars into his tactic ideas regardless because Friendship Means Friend*#Izumo is the embodiment of 'Just because I'm mad at you doesn't mean I stopped caring'#Also Izumo is currently on duty in that scene + dealing with Ko's lazy ass + just embarrassed himself in front of 2 respected jonin ->#and STILL had an idea for a killer top tier tactic right there. Brilliant baby. Smart boi. Intelligent cutie. Creative little muffin. I lov#Also this is in no way a diss to iruka. Iruka bby. Iruka my boy. Iruka my heart & soul since naruto 1st aired. i love u bby.#Kotetsu in canon: Wants to fight Izumo. Kotetsu as soon as Izumo wants to fight: NOPE *runs*#also gonna post the not gay version for the non shipper side of fandom. Not like I have more than 4 followers but in case it makes it out#It's just. I've seen The 4 Guys being shipped in PLENTY KakaIru fics. So I assumed someone might enjoy this lmao#also because i ship these 3. Everything gay I ship. I love me some non toxic masculine intimate friendship but I also love my gay sorry

Today’s snippet (3/10/23)
Hayate also made a mental note to tell Raidō that the low-cost version of his ANBU genjutsu repertoire carried some peculiar flaws. If he didn’t see it as a risk, Hayate would just go to Genma and complain that his boyfriend was being reckless, then stand back and watch the fireworks.

Day 27: Outdoor Event
@flufftober
Genma rang the bell and counted to ten. Well, at least he tried to but before he could even get to three, Gai had already yanked the door open, the biggest smile imaginable plastered on his face. Before Genma knew what was happening, Gai had already grabbed his wrist and pulled him inside. A quick glance to the side showed him that Raidou had suffered the same fate. He too was struggling to keep up, his wrist firmly clasped by Gai’s other hand. Genma grinned to himself when he saw the helpless expression on Raidou’s face while they both tumbled after Gai, barely keeping up with his energetic pace. They exchanged a grin, Raidou a bit tormented which made Genma laugh to himself. He did know that Raidou wasn’t the biggest fan of gatherings but since he had insisted on accompanying Genma even though he had asked him three times whether he even wanted to, he had no other choice but to resign to his fate – which was wearing his usual green jumpsuit and was almost skipping in excitement.
Gai didn’t show mercy until they had crossed his living room and made it to the patio door that led to Gai’s spacious garden. Only when he had dragged them onto his patio, he let go of both of them and turned towards them, smiling at them excitedly. “The others are already here,” he exclaimed proudly, pointing vaguely behind him.
Genma peered over his shoulder and noticed a group of people casually standing around an enormous garden table with at least ten chairs around it. Genma waved back excitedly when Ebisu noticed him and raised his hand in a greeting. His gesture seemed to alert the others who now also turned to face them. Genma grinned happily when he saw that almost all of their friends had gathered in Gai’s garden. He could see Kakashi, standing suspiciously close to Yamato who smiled at Genma and Raidou. Obito had his arm wrapped around Rin who was laughing about a joke Shizune had just made. Yukiko stood next to Ebisu, excitedly waving at her brother and Genma felt Raidou relax a bit when he smiled at his little sister.
Gai grinned and gave them a soft push, steering them both towards their friends. It took a while until Genma and Raidou had greeted every single one of them and when the group finally quieted down a bit, Gai puffed himself up, smiling at them proudly. “I am so glad that you all could make it,” he said loudly and his garden fell quiet when they all looked at him curiously. “As most of you know, I wanted to have one last outdoor gathering before it gets too cold to chill in the garden. And with the help of Yamato, Shizune and Yukiko, I have managed to put together an amazing feast.”
Gai grinned at the three mentioned, giving them a thumbs up which they returned with a smile. “But all of you know that we have also gathered for one specific reason,” he continued, eyeing them eagerly. Genma started grinning. He indeed knew what Gai had lured them in with and his stomach started rumbling at the thought. He noticed that Ebisu and Kakashi also nodded, looking at Gai expectantly. Gai seemed to enjoy the attention and he stalled until the silence almost got too long. “Well, I know you’re all waiting for it – but I decided that we’re gonna have some more fun today.”
Genma raised an eyebrow and looked at him curiously. “What shenanigans have you come up with this time?” he asked with a laugh and Gai returned his look triumphantly.
“Well, my dearest Genma, there is one problem – I only have enough pumpkin pie for three people. In order to get a taste of my famous pumpkin pie, you will have to prove yourself worthy,” Gai exclaimed, grinning at the puzzled faces around him. “You will all have to compete with each other in my infamous treasure hunt!”
For a moment, everything stayed silent but then all hell broke loose when all of them started chattering at once. Gai seemed to relish in the overarching confusion and Genma felt a soft tug at his sleeve. He turned towards Raidou who eyed him a bit perplexed. “Did you know about this?” Raidou whispered.
Genma shook his head and shrugged with a grin. “No, I didn’t. But honestly, I’m not surprised. Gai wouldn’t be satisfied with hosting a simple outdoor event. No, he has to do something extravagant, otherwise it wouldn’t be successful to him.”
Raidou smiled nervously and nodded. “I guess I could’ve seen this coming,” he agreed quietly.
Before Genma had the chance to reply, Gai raised his hands and motioned for them to quiet down. “Listen, you guys. I have hidden three Halloween tokens in my garden and whoever finds one of them will get to enjoy my infamous pumpkin pie while the others miss out and have to make do with the rest of our feast.”
Kakashi shook his head slightly incredulously. “You always have to go the extra mile, don’t you?”
Gai gave him his biggest grin. “You’re entirely right about this, my eternal rival. But don’t fret, you only have a couple of the greatest shinobi in all of Konoha competing with you. Are you up for the challenge?”
Kakashi straightened up and cracked his knuckles, grinning maliciously at them. “I’ll find all three tokens before anyone else does,” he proclaimed, evoking a whole bunch of equally as belligerent replies from Ebisu, Obito and Yukiko. Even Shizune and Yamato grinned, determined to prove themselves in this challenge.
Gai raised his arms, staring at all of them intently. “Well, I wish you all luck. Ready, set … go!”
And before Genma could form a straight thought, all of them scattered into the depths of Gai’s garden. Genma gave Raidou a look and smiled. “Shall we?” he asked and Raidou nodded with a slight smile. Then they followed the others’ example, also diving into the bushes around them.
Genma couldn’t stop grinning to himself when he carefully scoured Gai’s vegetable beds for anything that even remotely reminded him of Halloween but except for a couple of turnips he didn’t find anything. After he had cleared the vegetable patches, he moved on to the thicket next to the fence that separated Gai’s yard from his neighbor’s. But this spot also didn’t yield any results. He was about to move on to the next area when he heard a triumphant call, followed closely by another one in a different voice. “Only one token left,” he muttered to himself, intensifying his efforts.
Genma was digging himself through a giant pile of red and brown leaves, right in the line of sight of Raidou who was examining a tree hole, when he heard a third shout with glee. With a sigh, he straightened himself up and gave Raidou a look who returned it with an amused shrug. They both wiped their hands off on their pants and returned to the garden table where Gai had dished up the announced feast in the meantime.
Genma let his gaze wander over the table and stared at it in awe. Gai had done an amazing job, outdoing himself with over a dozen of dishes, beautifully arranged on gorgeous silverware that Genma would never had expected Gai to have. He gave him an impressed look and nodded appreciatively. “This looks amazing, Gai,” he said and Raidou next to him agreed wholeheartedly.
Gai thanked them graciously and looked around. Genma followed his gaze and noticed that three people were holding artfully carved jack-o-lanterns in their hands. Of course, Kakashi was one of them but to his surprise, the other ones were proudly held by Yamato and Rin.
Gai nodded at them approvingly. “So, we have our winners! Congrats, you three. As a reward, you’ll not only get to try my infamous pumpkin pie but I’ll also pass on the secret recipe to you!” While Yamato’s and Rin’s faces lit up, Kakashi grimaced. “You do know that I suck at baking, right?” he asked under his breath and Gai let out a thundering laugh.
“Well, then you better make sure not to poison anyone in the process,” Gai chuckled, giving Kakashi a pat on the shoulder. “And now I’ll serve the pumpkin pie!”
With these words, Gai disappeared into his living room and they all took a seat at the table, curiously glancing at the variety of dishes Gai had already served. “You’re one lucky woman,” Genma said to Rin who was sitting next to him, the jack-o-lantern sitting in her lap.
She gave him a playful nudge and grinned. “Well, I’ll be sure to share my reward with you guys,” she said with a soft smile and Yamato agreed empathetically. Kakashi however just grinned at them mischievously and shook his head.
“You do you but I won’t share with anyone,” he said grinning but Genma noticed his quick glance at Yamato and suddenly he was sure that there was at least one person Kakashi would’ve shared with had he not found a token himself. He chuckled to himself and exchanged a look with Raidou who was also eying Kakashi and Yamato with a smile.
“What do you think?” he whispered so that only Raidou could hear him. “How long until one of them asks the other out?”
Raidou shrugged with a smile but before he could reply, Gai appeared in the opened patio door, holding the biggest cake pan Genma had ever seen. They all stared at him in surprise and Gai seemed to relish the moment before he stepped towards the table, placing the enormous pumpkin pie in the middle of the table.
“Seems like I haven’t been entirely honest with you guys,” he said with a grin. “Of course, there is enough pumpkin pie for all of you! And now enjoy the feast with the power of youth, my friends!”

So…hey…erm….Is it wrong that I totally ship BtB Raidō and Genma? 😅 Just saying. I blame you Miss Rayne. You wrote them so beautifully and I will ship all over them with my shipper sluttiness. ✌🏼
Is it wrong that I totally ship BtB Raidō and Genma?
Tumblr media
I mean, heck…I get it. I do.
I blame you Miss Rayne.
I will take whatever punishment you mete out, dear Anon. 🙇🏻‍♀️
You wrote them so beautifully and I will ship all over them with my shipper sluttiness.
Aw. First, bless you for saying that. I’m touched — in the head, clearly — but I mean in my heart 💓
Secondly…
You do you and ship away! I love writing them…their friendship/partnership and the way it unfolds in my dastardly brain is a very enjoyable thing to write…and if it inspires in your headspace something more…well, again, I get it. 💜

WHERE THE HEART LIES
"I'm home," Genma called as he walked in. He heard a gasp, the clatter of a utensil being dropped then a curse.
"Hey! You're home earlier than I thought you would be," Raidou said as he stuck his head around the door of the kitchen.
Genma smirked at his boyfriend for a moment before it softened into the smile only Raidou got to see. "It's good to be home."
"Any injuries?" Raidou asked.
"Nope!" Genma said, shaking his head.
Raidou moved out of the kitchen to wrap himself around his boyfriend. "I missed you," Raidou whispered as he kissed Genma.

👀👀 hello! Here to ask about Wake the White Wolf for the WIP name game 👀👀 is this about Kakashi?? Or Sakumo??? TELL ME MORE PLEASE 🥹
(curious about my WIPs?)
Also tagging in @mrssakurahatake, who also asked about WWW 🥹🥰
It is indeed about Kakashi! And, by subplot extension, Sakumo lmao. So Wake the White Wolf was a project I embarked on in late 2018 into early 2019, back in my KakaIru days. It's the longest fic I've ever written, even though it's nowhere near finished - I did 120k in a little over 8 months, and I've never come close to anything like that before.
It was, however, an idea that was too advanced for my skill level at the time, I think. I had a lot of ideas (good ones!) but not the skill to do them justice, which is part of why it's sat in WIP purgatory for the last several years 😭 I've been so busy actually leveling up as a writer and exploring different fandoms that the work it's going to take to breathe new life into the fic was just too much.
Now, however, my Wake the White Wolf document is a beautiful blank page, and also going to be part of my novel-plotting process! I've got a few different plotting methods I'd like to try before I sit down and try to actually puzzle out my novel's plot, and because I know how WWW was supposed to go, I want to do a test run with that story (and then, of course, rewrite it).
There are things I plan to do a little differently this time around, aspects I'd like to flesh out and nail down, but it's been ages since I've really sat down with a Naruto fic and I'm just. Kinda. Giving myself space to feel all right in the fandom again as I work the story out.
Story-wise:
I'm JAZZED AS HELL to really develop the secondary relationships in the fic more. There's a lot of healing to do between Kakashi and Iruka before they really can start to be together (forced marriage trope heehee), and I want both of them to be a little more mature before the turning points really start to hit. I'm especially excited about the IruAnko besties-with-benefits and GenRai "oh, so these relationships CAN work" vision
There's also a great B-plot about Kakashi that has to do with the fic's OC, Sera, and Orochimaru, which was like really vaguely alluded to in what's posted but I'm feral about actually working into the fic.
I wrote this at a time I was really just starting to question my gender and long before I came out as trans, and I think writing the fic (which, looking back, is an exploration of that gender angst) through the lens of a better-adjusted person is going to be a great experience and make for a more coherent, cohesive narrative.
I guess like LONG long story short this is a fic that's haunted me for ages because I really appreciate every single person who's read it but there's also that "fuck, I'm so much better than this" that I just have to GET OVER and rewrite the thing so people can see!!!

i love your Gemma and Raidou but would you ever ship them together? You ddi the group of them as Shisui pairings so what about other combos or other ships too? Thank you Torship :333
Yo! 👋
I could make most combos fit (in Quick Question, I'm insane enough to go for five-way poly lmao) because I've smooshed their bonds and affection so much as a Squad... so let's have a look at the formulas!
Kakashi ships
Shisui: supportive, understanding, tender, a little tragic and angsty but in the sweet+salty best way, see in link below vv
Tenzo: classic fandom, awkward ride or dies, very very very slow burn
Raidou: click bait article reads "this traumatized mess of a man somehow staggered into a relationship with the kind of well-adjusted sweetheart that mothers across the nation are dreaming of as son-in-laws! Somehow the world has not ended! Secrets exposed inside!" And the secrets exposed are that Raidou shoves his head in his notebooks every time Kakashi pulls out the Icha Icha, Kakashi is a surprisingly good cook, and Raidou's won over all the matrons by saying how hard Kakashi is fighting to defend the village despite his tragic childhood and troubled mind, etc etc. Kakashi makes his own life harder but he's also caring, intelligent, and teasing... Raidou can be that perfect sweet spot between responsible, willfully ignorant, and sardonic. Think, these two reading in the back of the room together, trading commentary on the events around them with just exchanged glances. Kakashi also deffo had a frustration crush on Guard!Raidou when Minato was alive 😏
Genma: the world is imploding. This is a tough one. Genma is a flirt, he's easy going, he's dangerous, but he also allows himself to be louder and incorrigible around the Squad etc (it's too late for them to run). They could be slouching, piss-taking partners in crime on duty and, off duty, absolutely troll everyone who tries to pry into their private life. Genma tells everyone he grew out his hair to make roleplaying Icha Icha more accurate, Kakashi says that Genma's herbal remedies work wonders, you get the picture, it's all very bitchy and, by some miracle, they stagger into the healthiest and longest relationship either have been in
Shisui:
Tenzo:
Kakashi: see above^
Shisui: see in link above^
Genma: for the sake of sanity, my own and Tenzo's and Konoha's... Not going there
Raidou: kissu when Raidou swears to do anything to remove Tenzo's ROOT seal, i can't unsee this amazing scene
Genma:
Kakashi: see above^ TL;DR: trolls stagger into a long term commitment
Shisui: see link above ^
Tenzo: I'm choose world peace today
Raidou: another fandom classic, partners in every sense of the word, Raidou is responsible (r) and Genma is incorrigible and then they get wasted and Genma is losing his shirt only Raidou interrupts because he's so drunk that he NEEDS takeout, it's a mess and actually the least sensible and communicative pairing of the lot, we are talking years of Idiots in Love not realising that they're married
Raidou: see above/in link^^
Dunno if we'll see GenRai in a fic but here's an analysis regardless! Enjoy ☺️✨

Pairing: Genma x Raidou
Rating: Explicit
Summary:
It felt like they have been dancing at the edge of this cliff for a lifetime, flirting with dangerous heights, eager to crash and fall.
Raidou chose, once more today, to fall.
Snippet:
“You probably think I’m an asshole,” Raidou said softly, “I’m not trying to lead you on I’m... I’m just...”
Words failed him.
Genma looked up with a self-deprecating smile, “Don’t want to give into me?”
“Don’t want to lose you,” Raidou stressed.

Hello friends it's ya girl back at it again with some headcanons! I'm still not open for requests but the lovely @chocolateplaidcroissantprofessor (it won’t let me tag you big sad) wanted some Genma taking care of an unwell/hurt Raidou, and who am I to say no to writing my favorite men taking care of each other?
These are loosely based on a fic I've been working on that I fully intend to finish at some point after I move, I hope you enjoy!
If Raidou is injured on a mission, Genma is going to feel so guilty. They're partners - part of his job is to watch Raidou's back, and he'll feel like he failed in that and blame himself for the circumstances of Raidou's injury.
It's even worse if Raidou's injured on a mission and Genma's not there. He's good at hiding how he feels on the surface when he hears the news, but on the inside he's in a full panic that won't stop until he sees his partner is alive for himself.
Genma doesn't leave Raidou's side the entire time he's in the hospital unless his mother, Tsunade, or Raidou himself forces him to go eat and shower. If he is forced to leave, he drags his heels the entire way out and does the bare minimum before going straight back.
Genma isn't going to completely coddle Raidou, but he'll very gentle and even more attentive than usual while Raidou's healing. Whatever Raidou does not have to for himself, Genma will happily do for him.
Physical touch has always been Genma's love language, but he finds himself touching Raidou even more than usual just to remind himself that he's real, he's alive, he's fine.
As much as his job allows, Genma tries not to let Raidou out of his sight. If for some reason he does have to leave while Raidou is healing, like being called out for a mission, the only way he'll feel comfortable going is if his mom or someone else he trusts goes by their place to check on Raidou while he's gone.

The scene I remember most was that time Kei accidentally visited Genma while he was with Raidou, The second hand embarrassment for all parties involved still haunts me to this day.
Hahahaha, yeah, that was a moment Kei's never gonna forget, either.

Genma/Raidou Roommate AU + Married to the Job
Genma and Raidou have been roommates for a year, but they both work for rival assassin groups and have no idea that the other person is the rival operative who’s been screwing up their missions. Since they both work so much they barely know what their roommate looks like, it turns into a comedy of errors where they both keep finding clues in the flat and on missions but end up thinking that their roommate is going to be the next target.

GenmaRaidou / Nothing I could do or say is ever gonna make you wanna stay.
AO3
-
Genma scrubbed at the back of his neck with one hand, pulling at the ends of his bandana until finally he pulled the whole thing offthe fiddle with it in his lap before allowing in to fall to the floor. His eyesremained riveted across the room where his partner of three years stood foldingclothes in to a sturdy canvas bag.
“Don’t go,” he whispered. Raidou paused for a moment butdidn’t turn around.
“Please don’t make this harder than it needs to be.”
“I don’t want you to go,” Genma said. If he counted it wasprobably the fifteenth time he’d said as much in the past hour.
Raidou ignored him and kept packing.
Outside the window a gentle rain fell, soaking the thirstyearth after months of drought, and Genma wished he could enjoy the knowledgethat this year’s crop wouldn’t be a total failure, the people of their villagewould not go hungry in the coming winter. It might have been selfish but hecouldn’t help being more concerned with his own personal drama and the thoughtof spending his own winter all alone.
When he stood from his chair the wood creaked and Raidousighed, dropping his head, knowing what was about to happen. Genma didn’t letthe man’s reaction deter him from crossing the room to gently encourage hispartner around where they could face each other. Raidou looked up at him with adeep sadness in his eyes, the corners of his mouth turned down unhappily.
“I don’t like this any more than you do,” he said.
“So don–”
“For the love of all that’s holy, if you ask me not to go onemore time then I am never coming home.” His partner glared and finally Genma crackedthe tiniest of smiles.
“You’d miss me too much.”
Raidou closed his eyes tiredly. “No. I hate you now. That’swhy I’m running away from home.”
“I knew it.” Genma pulled one hand away to snap his fingerslike he’d uncovered the last clue in solving a great mystery. The levity couldonly last for so long, however, and his smile was gone before a full minute hadpassed. More than just his chest, his entire body felt heavy with dread.Thankfully the two of them knew each other well and he found a familiar pair oflips seeking his own.
“Hey, it’s just a few months. It’s going to be hard,” Raidouadmitted, “but every day I spend away from you is one less day until I can comeback home. Not so bad when you think of it like that, right?”
“Nothing I could do or say is ever gonna make you wanna stay, huh?”
The despondent sigh that Genma was in the middle of hiccuppedand faltered when Raidou smacked him in the chest. “You know damn well that Iwant to stay but this is our job. We’re shinobi. So when the Hokage says ‘jump’we jump and when the Hokage says ‘go under cover for a few months’ you do thattoo. I’ll be home before you know it.”
In silence they held each other’s eyes and not for the firsttime Genma memorized this beloved face in case it was his last chance to do so.Every morning could be his last chance and he would be damned if he was the onewho would ever take for granted the incredible love he’d somehow lucked in to.Raidou was everything to him. He wasn’t about to let the idiot forget that justbecause he insisted on following orders like a good boy.
“You come back safe, is that understood?”
“Sir, yes sir,” Raidou murmured.
“Good. I don’t want any letters or anything saying you wentoff and blew up your own leg or something.”
They went in for a hug at the same time and held each othertight without saying anything else for a long time. Maybe nothing he could saywould convince Raidou to stay but maybe that strength was part of what had madehim fall in love with the man in the first place. Genma breathed deep and toldhimself that he could be that strong too.
He would be anything that Raidou needed him to be.
