Major Kusanagi I drew in the style of the original Ghost in the Shell manga by Shiro Masamune.

They're finally doing another Ghost in the Shell adaptation and it seems to be more based on the original manga this time around, at least that's what I'm getting from the art style, so I'm pretty hyped about it.

Science Saru is making it and it looks good so far, I expect a less serious tone considering the manga is inherently a goofy book when you get down to it, like a lot of adaptations seem to negate the humor of Ghost in the Shell aside from Stand Alone Complex, and even then that doesn't completely capture how funny Motoko as a character is, lol.

Memory and nostalgia are a curious thing, aren't they? A few weeks ago, Atsuko Tanaka passed away at the age of 61. Compared to my parents' age, she passed away very young.

She was the voice of Major Motoko Kusanagi, among other fabulous characters.

I spent almost twenty years of my life listening to this woman's voice. From the VHS tapes with the 95 movie, to the Stand Alone Complex that accompanied me throughout practically my entire college life, and the 2045 arc that ended at the end of last year.

I feel immense sadness. A person I never met but whose voice always accompanied me (after all, why watch a new series if I can rewatch the old ones, right?).

Thank you for your incredible work, Major. Your existence will live on forever on the vast internet.
