GRC Design Concepts for Thunderstorm Torres

GRC design concepts I made for Thunderstorm last, when I discovered the Cars GRC diecast line last ear. Absolutely adore the Cars GRC, especially since I have some of the diecast figures from that line. GRC Shu Todoroki is my favourite so far, and I'm gunning for GRC Cruz Ramirez.

Operation: Grocery Run
Request: Can we maybe have one where Chris is sent on an adventure to go grocery shopping? And he’s either really good at it, or really bad at it? 😂
Chris Redfield
It was supposed to be a normal Saturday. No mutant outbreaks, no global pandemic. Just Chris, a cup of coffee, and a sick girlfriend curled up in bed with a cold.
But then came the request.
“Chris… can you go to the store and grab a few things?” she croaked, wrapped in blankets like a burrito of misery.
Chris Redfield, the man who once punched a boulder to death, nodded with resolve. “You got it, babe. Leave it to me.”
She gave him the list. Twelve items. Simple stuff. Or so he thought.
Phase One: Recon and Entry
Dressed in tactical boots, jeans, and a tight black t-shirt (because he only owns tight black T-shirts 😂), Chris approached the local supermarket like it was an Umbrella facility.
He paused outside, squinting at the automatic doors. “Looks quiet…. Too quiet.”
A mom pushing a toddler in a racer-shaped cart gave him a weird look.
Inside, the mission begins.
Phase Two: Complete and Utter Confusion.
Chris stared at the list. Then at the produce section. Then back at the list.
Almond milk (unsweetened) – how many types of milk could there be? Was this a code?
He called Jill.
“Hey, uh…. What’s the difference between ‘almond milk’ and ‘oat milk? Which one comes from a cow?”
“you’re joking, right?”
“….No?”
Click.
Phase Three: Hostile Encounters
He found himself face-to-face with the most dangerous foe of all, a self-check out machine.
Iten doesn’t scan. Item doesn’t scan.
Item scans twice. unexpected weight in bagging area.
He muttered under his breath. “I survived the spencer mansion for this?..”
Phase Four: Improvisation
He couldn’t find “organic ginger root,” so he grabbed a 6-pack of ginger ale. Same thing, right?
Instead of the brand of cough syrup she liked, he picked up a protein shake, “Figured the extra creatine might help you recover faster.”
Also somehow came home with a rotisserie chicken, a nerf gun, and a scented candle labelled “Autumn Revenge.”
“Why… why is there a watermelon in the freezer?” she asked weakly when he returned.
“Hydration is key when you’re sick,” he replied, placing it down triumphantly next to the genetic brand tissues and three loaves of garlic bread.
Mission Debrief
Later that evening, as she sipped actual tea (that he eventually got right), she looked at him with a lopsided smile.
“You’re lucky you’re cute.”
He nodded solemnly. “I face horrors in that store I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. There was a coupon lady.”
She chuckled through her sore throat. “Next time…. Just take Jill.”

Released in 2008 for the Nintendo Wii, Mario Kart Wii is the sixth installment in the beloved Mario Kart series. Developed and published by Nintendo, it introduced several innovations while retaining the classic charm that has captivated fans since 1992. The game combines the excitement of kart racing with the whimsical and vibrant world of Mario, offering an experience that is both fun and competitive for players of all ages.
In this game, players race in go-karts or motorbikes on various creatively designed tracks filled with obstacles, shortcuts, and familiar Mario universe characters. The extensive roster includes favorites like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Bowser, along with some new additions. Characters are divided into lightweight, medium, and heavyweight classes, affecting their speed, acceleration, and handling.
A key innovation in Mario Kart Wii is the motion controls facilitated by the Wii Remote, allowing players to steer by tilting the remote for a more immersive driving experience. This can be done with or without the Wii Wheel accessory, designed to enhance the sensation of steering a real kart. Additionally, the game supports traditional control schemes using the Wii Classic Controller, GameCube controller, or the Wii Remote and Nunchuk combination, catering to various player preferences.
Both single-player and multiplayer modes are offered, with the latter being a standout feature. Locally, up to four players can compete in split-screen mode. Online multiplayer, a first for the series, allows up to twelve players to race worldwide via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, significantly expanding the competitive and social aspects of the game and fostering a global community of racers.
Several modes keep players engaged. Grand Prix mode involves competing in a series of races across different cups to achieve the highest overall score. Time Trials challenge players to beat the clock and their best times, while Versus mode allows for customizable races against CPU opponents or friends. Battle mode includes classic battles such as Balloon Battle and Coin Runners, where players compete in arenas to pop opponents' balloons or collect the most coins within a time limit.
The game is renowned for its diverse and imaginative tracks, blending new courses with retro tracks from previous installments. Each course is distinct, with unique themes, hazards, and shortcuts, ranging from the chaotic Rainbow Road to the serene Moo Moo Meadows. These tracks provide a variety of visual experiences and require different strategies and skills to master.
Items play a crucial role, adding unpredictability and strategy to the races. Players can collect items from boxes scattered across the tracks, using them to gain advantages or hinder opponents. Iconic items like Red Shells, Banana Peels, and the dreaded Blue Shell return, along with new items such as the Mega Mushroom, Thunder Cloud, and POW Block, each introducing new dynamics to the race.
Mario Kart Wii also includes a comprehensive ranking and reward system. Players earn points and unlock new characters, vehicles, and customization options as they progress. The addition of bikes, each with unique handling characteristics and the ability to perform wheelies for speed boosts, further diversifies the racing experience.
Noteworthy graphics and sound design contribute to the game's appeal, with bright, colorful visuals capturing the whimsical essence of the Mario universe. The music is equally engaging, featuring catchy tunes that complement the energy of the races.
Overall, Mario Kart Wii stands as a seminal title in the series and a highlight for the Wii console. Its blend of intuitive controls, diverse modes, engaging multiplayer options, and the quintessential Mario charm make it a timeless favorite among fans of racing games and the Mario franchise alike.

The Global Racing Vehicles Market was valued at USD 6,590.00 million in 2022 and is expected to reach USD 18,460.00 million by 2030 at a CAGR of 12.30% from 2023-2030. Racing vehicles are those vehicles which are specially designed for the racing event. There is different type of motor vehicles which are used in these events such as bike, car, boats, trucks and so on. Motorsport is very famous among all and is usually known as automobile racing.
Request For
Market Drivers
Motorsport is one of the world's most popular spectator sports, and its popularity is only growing. This is fuelling demand for racing vehicles from both professional teams and amateur hobbyists. New technology is continually being developed, resulting in a constant evolution of racing vehicles. These improvements enable faster, safer, and more effective racing vehicles. This is growing the sport's fan base and fuelling the market for new racing cars. Reducing environmental effect is becoming more and more important. This is raising demand for racing cars with greater sustainability. New racing cars with electric and hybrid powertrains are being developed by manufacturers in response to this demand. Teams in the racing industry are always seeking for methods to perform better. This is increasing demand for more effective and straightforward to maintain racing automobiles. In response to this desire, manufacturers are creating new racing cars with reduced processes. The platform provided by racing events for marketing and sponsorship is substantial. The racing vehicle market benefits financially from the use of racing by businesses, particularly those in the automotive and associated sectors, to sell their names and goods.
Market Restraints
Racing cars cost a lot to make, keep up, and drive. Both individual racers and racing teams may find it difficult to get started because of the high expenditures of obtaining and maintaining racing vehicles and equipment. There is always a chance of dying or suffering life-threatening injuries in racing. This may discourage some people from taking part in racing or from investing in racing equipment. Strict safety and performance requirements, which might differ by location and racing series, must be met by racing vehicles. It can be expensive and time-consuming for manufacturers and racing teams to comply with these requirements. A growing number of people are now worried about how racing affects the environment, especially in terms of pollution and fuel use. Because racing vehicles are high-performance, there has been considerable demand on the industry to adopt more environmentally friendly practices, which can be difficult. Compared to the larger automotive sector, the market for racing vehicles is quite modest. Manufacturers may find it challenging to attain economies of scale and profitability due to the small size of the market. Governments may set restrictions on racing activities, including safety, noise, and pollution standards. Racing participation and the sale of racing equipment may become more challenging and expensive because of these laws.
Impact Of COVID-19 On Market
The suspension of production facilities and the interruption of the supply chain were two of the pandemic's initial repercussions. Because of lockdowns and safety precautions, many makers of racing vehicles were forced to temporarily stop or slow down manufacturing. Delays in the delivery of new vehicles and parts had an impact on the industry's capacity to meet consumer demand. The epidemic forced the cancellation, postponement, or absence of spectators from racing events, including Formula 1, NASCAR, and numerous other motorsports. As racing vehicles are intimately associated with these events, this has a direct effect on the market. Reduced or postponed races meant less visibility and fewer chances for vendors to highlight their wares and innovations. The pandemic's effects on the economy led to decreased consumer expenditure, which included spending less on expensive racing cars. Due to financial uncertainty and job insecurity, many prospective customers put off their purchases. This led to a decline in the demand for racing automobiles, particularly those in the luxury and high-performance classes. Components and materials for racing vehicles are sourced from a convoluted worldwide supply chain. The ability of the sector to achieve production and delivery deadlines was already challenged by supply chain problems, such as shortages and delays in the delivery of essential parts.
Impact of Russia-Ukraine Conflict on Global Racing Vehicles Market
The worldwide supply chain has been significantly disrupted by the Russia-Ukraine crisis, and the racing vehicle sector is no exception. Aluminium, carbon fibre, and steel, which are needed to make racing vehicles, have seen their prices rise because of the battle. Additionally, it has become challenging for racing teams to buy supplies from Russian manufacturers because of the sanctions imposed on that country. The cumulative effect of these disruptions will almost certainly be significant. Higher raw material costs will make producing racing vehicles more expensive, thereby reducing the quantity of vehicles produced. Furthermore, a lack of components and equipment may make it difficult for racing teams to maintain and repair their vehicles. This could reduce the number of teams competing in races while also making it more difficult for teams to compete. Western countries, especially the United States and the European Union, put economic sanctions on Russia in reaction to its activities in Ukraine. These sanctions have had an impact on the Russian economy as well as some Russian motorsports enterprises. This could have lowered the financial resources available to Russian motorsport teams and events, thus hurting their competitiveness. Manufacturers of racing vehicles frequently have global operations, including partnerships and collaborations with companies from many nations. Geopolitical crises can disrupt these relationships and have an impact on racing vehicle development and production.
Market Segmentation
The Global Racing Vehicles Market is segmented into Race Series, Channel, and Region.
Regional Analysis
The Global Racing Vehicles Market is segmented into five regions such as North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Middle East & Africa. The European region held the largest market share in 2022 and it is expected to account for the highest CAGR of the Racing Vehicles Market by 2030, because The World Rally Championship, Le Mans, and other globally renowned motorsport competitions are all held in Europe. Due to its popularity, both those who want to watch the races and those who want to compete in them place a greater demand for racing vehicles.
Additionally, European motorsport has a long and illustrious history that dates to the early days of the vehicle. Due to this, the area now boasts a vibrant motorsports culture and a significant population of followers and enthusiasts. This has increased the demand for racing cars in Europe.
Key Players
Various key players are discussed into the Global Racing Vehicles Market Report including: Ford, Volkswagen, Toyota, General Motors, Honda, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Renault, KTM, Tata Motors, Ferrari, MAZDA, McLaren Automotive, Freightliner Trucks, AUDI, ASTON MARTIN, BUGATTI, ALFA-ROMEO, Golf GTI, and Porch.

[ad_1] Salt Lake racer wins fourth gold in 5 races, breaks American report at Global Cup match in Kearns(Chris Detrick | The Salt Lake Tribune) USA's Erin Jackson competes throughout the Women' 500m on the Gangneung Oval throughout the Pyeongchang 2018 Wintry weather Olympics Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018. Jackson completed in twenty fourth position with a time of 39.20. | Dec. 4, 2021, 12:12 a.m. | Up to date: 2:46 a.m.Kearns • Erin Jackson’s circle of relatives can’t be in Beijing for the 2022 Olympic Video games, which has banned all enthusiasts from out of doors mainland China to stem the unfold of COVID-19. However Friday from the trackside stands on the Utah Olympic Oval, they were given a glimpse of what they may well be lacking. With cousins, her aunt and her father cheering her on, Jackson streaked round her house ice to win gold within the ladies’s 500 meters at the opening day of the World Skating Union Global Cup long-track speedskating races. If truth be told, she went quicker than some other American lady has ever long past. Her time of 36.809 seconds broke the nationwide report of 36.9 set 8 years in the past by means of Heather Bergsma.“I’m simply happy she’s the place she’s at,” Tracy Jackson mentioned of his daughter. “I didn’t know she used to be doing this excellent.”Just right doesn’t correctly describe how Erin Jackson is doing this season. Taking down the report used to be a small milestone in comparison to the only Jackson, 29, claimed remaining month within the season opener in Poland. There, the Salt Lake Town racer become the primary Black lady in historical past to face atop the rostrum at a Global Cup.Jackson now stands atop the Global Cup standings — 10 issues forward of Japan’s Nao Kodaira, the silver medalist on the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics and is marked as a favourite to medal in China in February. She might be the primary American lady to win a person medal since Jennifer Rodriguez in 2002 (bronze within the 1000 and 1,500) and the primary lady to win gold since Bonnie Blair received the 1,000 in 1994.But neither the ones accomplishments nor her 4 wins in 5 Global Cup races this season ensure she’ll in truth be at the ice in Beijing. The one strategy to ink her title onto the beginning listing is to qualify on the U.S. Olympic long-track staff trials in Milwaukee on Jan. 5-9.“After we get to Olympic Trials,” mentioned Jackson, who positioned twenty fourth within the 500 in Pyeongchang in 2018, “it’s up for any individual.”The similar is going for Brittany Bowe, any other Salt Lake skater, who leads the sector standings within the 1,000 meters. And for Joey Mantia, who sits No. 3 at the males’s 1,500 leaderboard. And for some other American athlete in the hunt for Olympic glory.“It’s nonetheless a decent, tight race,” Staff USA trainer Ryan Shimabukuro mentioned. “She best received by means of a 10th [of a second] lately, , and the following day it might be turn flopped. And she or he is aware of that. So she’s all the time glad to take a victory, however she doesn’t get complacent, that’s evidently.”That doesn’t cut back this week’s races to mere observe. The issues athletes select up on the Global Cup races this season lend a hand decide what number of racers each and every nation can ship to the Olympics. The issues additionally decide an athlete’s seeding on the Video games, will have to she qualify. Most significantly, possibly, those races can stoke an athlete’s fireplace.“It’s indisputably self assurance construction, ?” Jackson mentioned. “However so far as everybody else is going, like, I will be able to’t in reality consider what everybody else is doing. Everybody’s were given their very own plans for the season and once they wish to be speedy. So, yeah, I’m simply going to stay doing my plan and seeing the way it works out.”It’s labored out neatly to this point, and Shimabukuro mentioned he has no issues Jackson is peaking too quickly.[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBCoVo6d7s8[/embed]“The function is in February, no longer now,” he mentioned.
“I feel we’d all be kicking ourselves if we, , set the sector on fireplace right here after which got here up with not anything in February.”Russia’s Angelina Golikova took 2d in the back of Jackson within the 500. In the meantime Femke Kok of the Netherlands additionally made the many of the “Quickest Ice on Earth” on Friday by means of environment the Dutch nationwide report within the 500 — a substantial feat for any person from a rustic to which speedskating is the identical to soccer in The usa or football in Brazil — with a time of 37.017.Japan’s Yamato Matsui and Wataru Morishige went 1-2 within the males’s 500, adopted by means of Laurent Dubreuil of Canada. Irene Schouten and Antoinette de Jong of the Netherlands took gold and silver within the ladies’s 3,000 and Nils van der Poel of Sweden set an international report in successful the lads’s 5,000 (6:01.566) by means of just about 3 seconds over Dutchman Patrick Roest.Jackson’s circle of relatives will probably be within the stands once more Saturday as she races for her 5th Global Cup gold in the second one ladies’s 500 race of the weekend. Clubcamping | The legend of Pedro Rodríguez | Director's Cut from Clubcamping on Vimeo.
Racing driver Pedro Rodríguez was one of a kind, a legend in Latin America, and an idol to Porsche fans all over the world. And not only because he was a crazy skilled driver: he made history driving the iconic Porsche 917k, which we can only assume was based on a discarded Batmobile design deemed too unrealistic.
Fifty years after his tragic demise while racing in Germany, we teamed up with The Community and Porsche to honor some of his feats.
Crank up the volume and get ready for a 60-second trip at 300 km/h.
This is our director's cut version for: The Legend of Pedro Rodríguez!
Let’s start by saying we were granted unprecedented creative freedom in this project by both the agency and the client.
But even before the slightest idea came to our minds, we knew one thing for sure: we needed the car to look perfect in 2D. Animating the Porsche 917k frame by frame, without a reference, sounded like the premise of the next Saw movie, so we decided that a 3D model of the car to produce some sweet 3D layouts was a fundamental asset to get our hands on.
To build Pedro’s world we thought about ‘60s and early ‘70s graphic design, movies, cartoons and tv shows, and discussed with Juan what pop culture and art milestones had left a mark on our styles. We agreed we wanted an overall vintage vibe but with modern visuals and animation ideas that would challenge our craft.
“Speed Racer meets Akira” was our pitch.
In a process we like to call “blind parkour design”, we started importing materials into After Effects and mixing it to see what happy accidents we encountered.
Jumping from After, to Animate, to Photoshop, to C4D, trying things out, not thinking whether something might work or not but simply doing it. Letting our subconscious sublimate. An intense animatic process ensued, where tons of new ideas and references kept flowing and popping up spontaneously.
We wanted the animation timing to feel a little limited, but with lots of super-sharp poses and eases. We chose to work at 24fps and its multiples, focusing mainly on animating in 3s, with 4s and 1s as extremes.
The comp was going to be extra heavy—we knew it and wanted it to be that way. Lots of glows, defocus, and grain. But the hardest comp ever was the one with the oil monster. It required a tremendous amount of coordination, organization and patience, constantly going back and forth between layout, animation, cleanup and comp. That shot alone took about a whole month to produce.
We promise you everything was under painful control.
One last thing you might be wondering: what about the square format, with rounded edges? We worked in a 2202 x 2202 1:1 format so as to easily come up with different versions later. The idea all along was to deliver a 16:9 format. As we went on, new details and compositions increasingly made sense when displayed in 1:1. We sat on it a little, and then El Señor Rodriguez himself inspired the final touch: what if we added a nice frame with rounded corners, giving it a lovely super-8 vibe like the footage of Pedro we were already showing at the end?
That was the last touch. The vintage vibe was exactly what we needed to close the circle.
We raise our cups to Pedro and what his star at 300km/h might bring us.

Get the trailer and details below, via the PlayStation Blog.

Grand Prix Content is not only new, but it’s also introduced by Chick and Stew
We know you’ve got questions, and luckily, we’ve got some answers. But first, let’s give a warm welcome to Chick Gizzard Lips and co-host Stew — ace rooster commentators for CTR TV, your Crash Team Racing news channel! Yes, the chicken reporters from Crash Tag Team Racing are back and settling into their new roles as hosts for each new season of content! Simply tune in to CTR TV through the game and listen to Chick and Stew introduce each Grand Prix, explaining all the different challenges and rewards you can win by simply participating!
We’ve Got Grand Plans for the Grand Prix
What is a Grand Prix in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, exactly? Think of it as a themed season, constructed around a newly-themed track with a number of different challenges to undertake. Finish a challenge, and you’re awarded Nitro Points (think of Nitro Points like Experience Points). Complete more challenges to continue to fill that Nitro up. When you’ve filled Nitro up to certain levels in your Nitro Gauge, rewards are earned. Examples include new characters, karts, skins, and kart customization items.
You’re easily able to see your Nitro Gauge in the game, which shows your progress, the items you’ve earned along the way, as well as the ones you’re still driving toward! Just keep playing the game to complete these challenges and fill the Nitro Gauge before the end of that Grand Prix to earn every challenge reward. Challenges include top speed, power slide, reverse, and other competitive challenges, and they vary from easy to quite hard, increasingly testing your skill as the season goes on.
If you reckon you’re the best Bandicoot in the racing business, it’s time to prove it: with global leaderboards for every Grand Prix Season, you can compete to be the best in the world and win special in-game reward items!
Redeem Those Wumpa Coins: Head to the Pit Stop
As well as completing Grand Prix challenges to earn Nitro Points, filling up the Nitro Gauge, and unlocking a specific set of rewards every season, you can also earn Wumpa Coins by participating in Grand Prix challenges too. As you learned a couple of weeks ago, as you gather these Wumpa Coins, you can redeem them in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled’s Pit Stop for even more items.
Speaking of the Pit Stop, we’re also excited to announce that during each Grand Prix a new set of items will be introduced to it, like even more characters, kart sets, wheels, paint jobs, decals, stickers, and skins. With this, players have the ability to redeem their Wumpa Coins to play as racers that go beyond the original CTR and to find many unique ways to customize their characters and karts.
Season 1: Time to Get Warped — Welcome to the Nitro Tour!
Now that we’ve laid the foundation for what the Grand Prix is, let’s dive into the first Grand Prix, set to launch on July 3! It’s called the Nitro Tour Grand Prix and features a track called “Twilight Tour”, which reimagines the Ancient Egypt and Arabian Town levels from Crash Bandicoot: Warped—so look for some familiar sights and sounds as you’re racing!
Season 1: Say Hello to Tawna Bandicoot and the Nitro Squad!
This one has been difficult to keep as a secret for so long! We’re excited to announce that as well as an enthralling new track to perfect in the first Grand Prix, players are also able to earn Tawna the Bandicoot as a playable character. Players are able to unlock Tawna by earning Nitro Points during the first Grand Prix, and are also able to earn an amazing new Motorsport Tawna skin which lets the world know that she means business!
In addition to Tawna, players will be re-introduced to Ami, Isabella, Megumi, and Liz. Together, they are now known as the Nitro Squad (formerly known as the Trophy Girls in the original Crash Team Racing), and are now characters that you can race with! They can be unlocked using Wumpa Coins in the Pit Stop during the first Grand Prix. These global bandicoots hail from all over the world, and are ready to compete! There will also be new Motorsport skins for them as well, to really show off their speed and style.
Season 1: More than Just New Characters
In addition to the new characters, you will see a bunch of other items that will be a part of the first Grand Prix, including international-themed items for players to show their national pride, new kart parts, and even the return of Le Chaux, the fan favorite kart from Crash Team Tag Racing!
In short, make sure that starting on July 3, you are beating challenges in the Nitro Tour Grand Prix to fill up your Nitro Gauge, keep earning those Wumpa Coins by playing any mode in the game, and make sure you are heading to the Pit Stop to see what’s new!
Looking to the Future
That’s a deep dive into the first Grand Prix season, but as teased today, this is only the beginning! We have some incredible Grand Prix seasons coming up, including one that revolves around everyone’s favorite purple dragon… (if that doesn’t excite you, I don’t know what will).
Here is an updated fact sheet for the game:

2023 Global Bike Festival Recap
Shredding trails, grinding gravel and conquering cols is what a few of us from Bikeflights did this past weekend, along with hundreds of other mountain bikers, gravel riders and roadies, in beautiful Saalbach, Austria. That’s where the world’s favorite bike channels – Global Cycling Network (GCN), Global Mountain Bike Network (GMBN) and Electric Mountain Bike Network (EMBN) – were hosting the Global Bike Festival, a second-year event that drew riders from all over Europe and beyond.

We were there to take care of our Bikeflights customers from the US and UK who had shipped their bikes round-trip using our global shipping service to the stunningly scenic Alpine Valley. As the official bike shipping service of the Global Bike Festival, we had also helped GCN, GMBN and EMBN presenters get their bikes to and from Saalbach.

Little did customers and presenters know that International Shipping Manager Brenna Clancy was onsite in Austria, directly overseeing their bicycle shipments. She was joined by fellow Bikeflights Marketing and Event Team Members Kerry Werner, Michael Potter and Sue George.
The Global Bike Fest kicked off a long weekend on Thursday with a full slate of master classes for attendees to learn and practice a variety of skills from track standing to jumping. Presenters joined in on the action not only to teach and encourage riders, but also to do what they do best: entertain.
Festival days 2 and 3 brought options for group rides and challenges. Roadies took on the famous Grossglocker climb, while gravity loving riders tackled the Big 5 Challenge descending five favorite local mountain bike trails. Gravel riders could explore some peaceful, Alpine backroads on their own or participate in the Glemmduro (race).

Upon receiving our own bikes, we were eager to assemble them and sample the riding that the Saalbach-Hinterglemm Valley has to offer. Of course, we couldn’t go to the Alps and not bring bikes, so we shipped our own bikes, too. Before and during the Global Bike Fest, we enjoyed several chances to pedal up and down the local roads and trails. Our favorite ride involved a trip over to the Leogang Bike Park and two gondola rides and some singletrack.
It turns out that in and around Saalbach, no matter what bike you want to pedal, there are incredible views of snow-covered Alpine peaks to be enjoyed. Whether you opt to pedal to the top assisted or under your own power, we have just one piece of advice: remember to bring your camera!
When not riding, we were treated to talks by veteran riders like Marc Beaumont, who set an incredible world record for pedaling his bike around the globe in less than 80 days, and retired pro road racer Jens Voigt, who shared anecdotes from growing up in an East German sports school and racing in the Tour de France.

Our Bikeflights Bike Boxes were featured in two of the challenges that were part of GCN’s Live Show, where the GCN and GMBN presenters competed against each other. Spoiler Alert: What we learned was that the mountain bikers turned out to be faster than the road cyclists in packing a bike into a Bikeflights Bike Box Large (BBL), and BBLs work pretty well for setting your much deserved beer on after you finish packing your bike!
Since the Global Bike Festivities wrapped up late Saturday night, and we had planned to stay until Monday to oversee the pickup of all the bikes being shipped back home, we were left with a bonus day to spend in and around Saalbach. There happened to be a UCI Mountain Bike World Cup happening on the other side of the mountain in Leogang. So we headed over to cheer on our favorite under 23 riders from one of our sponsored teams, the Bear National Team, and to watch the best elite men and women in the world race cross country.

Congrats to all the Bear Team riders who raced, including Jack Spranger, Robbie Day, Daxton Mock and Cobe Freeburn! Shout outs also go to Bailey Cioppa, Lauren Lackman, Cayden Parker and Brayden Johnson, four additional Bear Team riders who were racing in national team kits on behalf of Team USA for the weekend.
Check out also our event video recap below.
