#Going to post a few more of these cause Daniel just loves Troy and his insights are amazing đđŸ
I asked if Sharman would want a guy like Troy on his side if the apocalypse broke out. âI would, yes,â he said. âBut youâd need to put Troy in his place and give him rules to follow.â Troy is a great survivor and he knows all about how to stay alive, which is a major asset when faced with the undead rising. The trick is boundaries.â

fatherhood ~ zac efron
word count: 1519
request?: yes!
@kellysimaginesâ âCan you make one where the reader and zac have been together for 13 years (since Hairspray) and the reader is a youtuber and they have a daughter who is 8 months old and the reader asks him questiones about him being a dad and stuff with the baby with us and we also answer fab questions on how we keep our relationship so good after so many years and stuff? :)â
description: in which they decide to do a q&a about their relationship and parenthood
pairing: zac efron x female!reader
warnings: swearing
masterlist
âWanna go to mama?â Zac asked as he held our eight month old towards me. She thought for a moment before pulling away, cuddling close to her father.
âIâll remember this,â I told her, playfully narrowing my eyes at her.
I adjusted my camera to make sure it was perfect one last time before finally hitting the record button.
âHey everyone!â I greeted the camera. âItâs (Y/N) and, back by popular demand, we have Zac!â
Zac smiled and waved at the camera. âHey everyone.â
âAnd today we are also joined by the most adorable girl in the whole world, Dani Efron.â I looked over to see Dani was more interested in her socks than the filming. âYou guys have been asking for a Q&A with Zac and I about parenthood, so I decided it was time to give you what youâve been asking for.â
Dani squealed to herself before reaching for one of her toys on the floor. Zac bent over to pick it up and pass it to her. She smiled excitedly and began to play with it.
âI asked you guys to tweet me your questions regarding Dani, the pregnancy, the birth - but nothing too r rated - and about myself and Zac. I picked a couple, and now here we go,â I continued to explain.
I picked up my phone and opened the first question. âOkay, question number one says, Pretty clichĂ©Â question here, but what was your guysâ first reactions when (Y/N) found out she was pregnant?â
âShock,â Zac answered first. He began to laugh once he said it. âI know thatâs also clichĂ©, but itâs the truth. You told me you were pregnant and I remember just like...not knowing what to do.â
âI really wish I filmed your reaction now, but I was afraid it wouldnât go well,â I admitted.
Zac and I had been together for nearly 13 years when I found out I was pregnant. Neither one of us had talked about marriage and kids seriously at the time, we were both comfortable with where we were in the relationship. We had talked about eventually wanting kids, but we were both still young and still focused on our careers.
I took a pregnancy test shortly after the second period I missed. When it came back positive, I went to the doctor to make sure and sure enough, it came back positive as well. I was so scared to tell Zac because I wasnât sure what his reaction would be. I didnât think heâd be mad, but what if he wasnât ready? Was I even ready?
He was shocked, as he had said. At first I thought he was going to pass out. I didnât think he was even breathing. The longer it took for him to respond, the more anxious I got. When he finally spoke, my heart began to flutter.
âHoly fuck, Iâm gonna be a dad!â
He had lifted me into his arms and held me tightly, happy tears running down his face. I kissed him for so long after that, and we were just happy.
âI was pretty shocked as well, but I had an idea that I was because I had missed two periods,â I responded. âI had myself convinced it was like a medial reason, though. I was so sure I wasnât pregnant.â
âI suppose it was about time for us to have a kid, we have been together for years.â
Dani threw her toy onto the floor and immediately exclaimed. Zac chuckled and placed her on the floor, letting her crawl around after her toys.
âThe next question is, What was it like being pregnant?â
âThatâs a question for you,â Zac laughed.
âIâm aware,â I said and playfully stuck my tongue out at him. âAt first it was basically just like having a persistent stomach bug, but once Dani actually started growing it felt...just weird. It was like this constant reminder that there was something inside of me growing. And when sheâd start to move and was like...baby size if not getting to be baby size, it was this weird realization that she was actually there. That she actually existed. It was all just this weird sensation in general.â
âYou went through so much while you were pregnant,â Zac admitted. âI will never be able to say Iâm tough ever again cause I am no way tougher than what you went through.â
I couldnât help but blush at this. I had been hearing this praise for over a year, but I would never get tired of hearing the compliments.
âAh, I expected this one,â I said as I looked at the next question on my phone. âIs marriage next for you guys?â
I looked over at Zac. I quickly took in his appearance to make sure I wasnât about to get a surprise engagement. I loved Zac, and of course Iâd say yes, but I wasnât ready to be proposed to while filming a video.
Noticing my look, Zac merely chuckled and wrapped an arm around my shoulder. âIâm not gonna propose right now. When I do it, itâs going to be private and intimate. No one will even know itâll have happened until after weâre married.â
I couldnât help but smile brightly at his response. âI like that idea.â
Zac held his hand out towards my phone. âLet me pick the next question.â
I passed it to him and he scrolled through the list of questions I had saved. âOh, I like this one: Did you guys have any other names picked out for Dani? What were they?â
âWell, we decided not to find out her gender until after she was born,â I explained, âso we had many almost names picked out for her.â
âI was adamant on Josh, just because I liked that name a lot,â Zac said. âAnd Theodor, I thought that was a cute and proper name.â
âI vetoed Theodor because the last thing we needed was people making jokes about us naming our kid Ted, for obvious reasons,â I said, playfully nudging Zac. âI tried to convince him to choose Troy instead.â
âI vetoed that one immediately.â
âAs for girls, the only other name we had besides Danielle was Isabelle, but thatâs because Iâm obsessed with the Mortal Instruments series and Izzy is my favorite character. When she was born, though, we just knew she was a Dani.â
At the sound of her name, Dani looked up at us from the floor as she sucked on her toy. I couldnât help but smile at my baby girl before quickly sweeping her up in my arms and placing kisses all over her face. She squealed in response, but I could hear the giggles in between them.
Dani stayed up in my arms through the next few questions before getting bored and wanting to play on the floor again. Zac and I decided to wrap it up after one last question.
âI think weâll leave that there,â I said into the camera. âThank you guys so much for watching. If you liked this video, give it a thumbs up and maybe Iâll do another Q&A some time in the future. Hit the subscribe button if you havenât already, and if you have make sure you turn on notifications so you know every time I post. See you guys next week!â
I covered the camera with my hand before turning it off, my usual outro. Once I had the camera off, Zac stood from his chair and stretched his arms out.
âI donât know how you film these videos,â he commented. âMy body feels so cramped up right now.â
âI think Iâve just gotten used to it,â I responded as I stretched my legs out.
Zac picked Dani up in his arms and began to playfully rock her. âI got to talk about my favorite girl, so Iâd have to say the cramped up body is definitely well worth it.â
Dani smiled, her single tooth slightly visible from behind her little lips. Zac kissed her cheek as he walked around our house with her, Dani more than content with being in her fatherâs arms.
I couldnât help but smile to myself at my little family. I loved Zac more than words could ever say, and I didnât think that love could get any stronger until the day I saw him holding our beautiful baby girl for the first time. He had been there for me through the entire pregnancy, and had been such a great father towards Dani. I couldnât have asked for a better life partner than him.
Noticing my starring, Zac raised an eyebrow at me. âWhat?â
âNothing,â I responded with a shrug. âI love you is all.â
He smiled back at me and responded, âI love you, too.â In a higher pitched voice, he moved Dani in front of his face and added, âAnd I love you, too, mommy.â
I giggled before standing from my chair. I walked over to the two and kissed Daniâs chubby cheeks before kissing Zac more sweetly on the lips.

History Repeats Itself AU One Year Anniversary
I canât believe that itâs been an entire year since Iâve created this AU! Seriously, I feel like it was a few months ago. But nope. A whole year. Itâs crazy how much has changed from then to today. I hope you are all staying safe and inside!
This AU has grown in a massive way that I could have never predicted. I never intended on creating a whole book to follow the AU but yâall wanted more and I realized how much I could explore with this AU and Iâm so thankful for all the love and support, seriously it means the world to me. This AU helped me get back on my feet when things were extremely dark and bleak, so I really appreciate it.
Okay enough sappy stuff lmao, lets get to the purpose of this post.
To celebrate my AUâs one year anniversary I wanted to do something a little different compared to my other two big posts. Instead of writing mini fics about the events, Iâd just show you guys whatâs coming up and explain it without revealing too much. Mainly this will be about certain characterâs plot points and their arcs. Just wanna have some fun with a dash of feels inbetween.
So letâs begin!
So obviously this is the start of Troy and Skyeâs investigation. They stumble upon this hidden room in the archives, similar to Dellaâs, and the entire room is in dedication to Dewey Duck. An idea that manifested between Huey, Shelly and Louie and it became a reality.
For Troy, this starts as a gold mine. All the stories about his families adventures, a lot of those artifacts, are in this room. Most of his attention is on all the artifacts as he comes to realize how much his parents hid from him. They had this entire room and no one ever told him about despite him constantly visiting The Archives. Although at first he doesnât initially realize this room is about his Uncle Dewey, he seeâs that when he looks over at Skye.
The first thing Skye saw upon walking in was the portrait of her father, and thatâs where she remained fixated for a while. Even after Troy walks over, he too becomes distracted by it. This is the first time Skye has seen her father outside of the family photo Webby showed her and her brothers when they were young. Her emotions are all over the place. Her initial impression of her dad was not him being an adventurous person. So seeing this portrait, and the painting from the other day, it solidified her father was definitely not what she thought.
Seeing all this, Skye immediately wanted her brothers to know. She knew they were just as curious as she was, well maybe Danny a little more than Chase. But regardless, that was the plan.... until.
The note.
Louie,
I need to use The Curse Of The Sirens. I know this is late notice. I hope to explain soon. Iâm sorry.
- Dewey
Once this was read. Any plan or idea they had, went out the window. They had more questions than answers and Skye became even more confused about who her father was. When Troy suggested that Dewey betrayed the family and used the curse to do so, the two came to an agreement to keep everything hushed until they found out the truth.
They just werenât prepared for how complicated and messy the truth was.
Oh Lena. Lena, Lena, Lena, Iâm so sorry.
Lena is still definitely a mess in this AU. 11 years of corruption when you thought you left your past behind? Yeah that does stuff to ya. However, during the first 5 years of everything happening, she was able to fight back and remain in control during the day time, she was able to be a proper mother and teach Aurora how to control her magic, but at night? The darkness took over. Similar to how Magicaâs powers were connected to the Lunar Eclipse (this comes into play later too). After year 5, Lena had no choice but to banish herself away to protect her daughter and everyone else. Unfortunately this left her bound to Aurora as a shadow and the darkness causes Lena to manipulate her.
Once set free from the Shadow Realm, Lena imprisons both Aurora and Louie (not realizing this would allow them to talk and figure out their relation) and takes over the bin, in a similar manor like Magica. Although, Lena transforms a section the money bin into her own little place, creating her throne. She sent shadows and darkness rapid around Duckburg and enjoyed every second of it.
This does come back to be a huge regret when Lena is reformed and the darkness is sealed away in the Shadow Realm, along with Aurora who made the sacrifice to give her mother another shot at life. Due them both being shadowâs (in Auroraâs case half shadow) Lena is still able to keep contact with her in her shadow form, and the two work together on how to free her, while repairing their broken relationship slowly, but steadily.
Yup, Magicaâs still around. Her number one target? Sweet little Aurora.
Lenaâs not the only one keeping contact with her daughter in the Shadow Realm, Magica is too. Magica seeâs how vulnerable and confused Aurora is and she wants to feed on that.
She wants to lure Aurora in and make her feel like she can help, teach everything there is to know about magic. Any question she had, Magica would answer. Aurora would be the key to gaining back all her magic abilities, which she slowly gained feeding off of Lena in order to corrupt her.
Due to Aurora being half duck/half shadow, it would grant Magica more power than ever before. Sheâd have the ability to manipulate more than dreams and shadows, she could manipulate things in the real world. All she needs is a new puppet.
After all, theyâre family, right?
I kinda showed this moment already, but I wanted to bring it up again to clarify something. (And an excuse to draw Danny with his hair zoosh so yâall can see them side by side lmao)
Danny is not the kid Dewey is going to have the most trouble building a relationship with. This little moment is meant to emphasize, for Danny, that Dewey knows who he is, uses his proper birth name, Daniel, and he accepts his father with open arms.
All Danny wanted was for his father to know his name and show that Dewey was trying to connect with him. That little moment was enough for Danny to want to create a proper bond with his dad, and they do just that.
Dewey quickly bonds with both Skye and Danny once he comes home. Which makes sense as Skye dedicated most of her life to finding out the truth about her dad and was the first to accept his offer to be a proper father and Danny is a happy-go-with-the-flow 8 year old kid, heâs game for anything.
Notice how I missed someone? Well....
Look familiar?
Currently a WIP as Iâm figuring out the background, but yes this is that infamous scene between Della and Louie.
Unlike his brother and sister, Chase struggles to find any common ground with Dewey. On his first day home, Chase admits to feeling completely disconnected from him due to Dewey and everyone else mentioning specific aspects of his father that Skye and Danny inhabit. He feels lost in the middle as most of Deweyâs time is spent with either Skye or Danny, while he just watches.
Chase believes his father is unaware of his heart condition (which comes into play during their fight) as Dewey never brought it up upon meeting. Chase is so use to his mom and doctors taking care of him that he struggles having his father around, a lot.
Attention is something Chase wants, but he never knows how to go about it because he doesnât wanna seem weak or have it come back to his heart condition, sometimes he just wants someone to spend time with him and not bring that up.
This cultivates into Chase internalizing his frustration for his fatherâs attention that he does something drastic and it all goes south and falls apart in the matter of minutes. He got his fatherâs attention, but not in the way he wanted.
The reason this conflict is with Chase rather than Danny is, Chase is the middle child, just the same as Dewey. It felt fitting that Dewey would clash with the kid who inhabited his middle child syndrome and thirst for attention.
Similar to Della and Louie, Dewey calls Chase out for going completely overboard just because he wanted some attention when Chase couldâve just vocalized his frustration instead of thinking he had control over the whole situation and that he hadnât thought through every variable or how it would affect the entire family. This, of course, provokes Chase to say,
âOh? And who does that sound like?â
-
And thatâs all for now! Again, thank you all for the support of the AU, itâs absolutely insane how far we have come and I cannot wait to share more with you guys. You all mean the world to me.
Happy One Year History Repeats Itself!!!

me, late? you can (troy bolton vc) bet on it!!!!11!1
good morning / afternoon / evening, my children. my name is tea (or t, or anything you want; s/h pronouns) and i have been struggling with a flu for over a week now and things,,,have been difficult but i'm going to power through because i already adore this rp (the writers in here are no joke???) and i ought to present yall my daughter. i will babble a lil about her under the cut and if you want me to reach you out, like this post!!
 * âł â the dark lord has targeted [ ELIZABETH ROSIER NEE HEPBURN ] !  the muggles say she holds resemblance to [ ALICIA VIKANDER ]. the [ TWENTY EIGHT ] year old [ female ] was [ WARM & HELPFUL ] before the war, but have now become [ STUBBORN & SELF RIGHTEOUS ]. though they were once a part of [ GRYFFINDOR ], they have now taken up the position of a [ HEALER ]. whispers throughout the ministry claim that the [ MUGGLEBORN ] is actually [ AN ORDER MEMBER ], but i wouldnât report that to the daily prophet.
the only child out of a quite unlucky couple, elizabeth was born in a household where people made gold out of grass. her parents were poor and unfortunate, but they loved each other--her father still claims so, even after her mother's passing when the girl was just three. mr. hepburn's optimism was what supported them--that and his gig at a pawn/repair shop at linlithgow; while he went on that and any part times he could find to keep up rent and put his daughter through school, said girl would be at home, holding onto what needed to hold and distracting herself with tales of other worlds.
as the daughter of an immigrant and an outsider, elizabeth grew to be peculiar, standing out from the rest of the people in the small town she came to live on after her motherâs passing. on the mid fifties, on a scottish town where nothing happened, people didnât take very kindly to strangers disrupting their routine, but it was where elizabeth was to grow nevertheless; with a few years, name calling was something she learned to become unfazed by. despite however isolated and shunned she was then, she never imagined the magic of her books could become reality--the butterflies in her stomach were both of excitement and nervousness, a mix of feelings she would come to feel many times over the rest of her life. for good or bad, she was different (and this, too, would follow her for the rest of her life).
when her letter came, what she assumed to be a well conceited prank turned out to be her new astonishing reality. as she went through a wall and boarded a train, she was both terrified and amazed.
soft spoken, quiet and isolated, with a preference for long books and a tendence for distraction, elizabeth hepburn was hardly the model person for a gryffindor--she didn't think of herself courageous when the hat was placed on her head either, but there are all kinds of courage in this world, she was told. in the seven years to follow she had never watched injustice go free, nor she backed out when someone (anyone) needed her; beneath honey and unfailing kindness, in moments necessary, her voice was like thunder and her will unbreakable.
of course, sometimes it wavered--many were the times she almost gave up the wonderful magical castle when she thought of her father, all alone. he has refused this many times: she was meant for something more than a small town with ordinary people who did not appreciate her, mr. hepburn would tell her.
those years away at hogwarts installed a tradition of very long letters, written at least twice by week--flowery, extensive and very descriptive, they are still kept to this day by the old hepburn, and its sight is enough to make the daughter blush and smile sheepish. she is a sight when excited, all who know her know her passion.
her career in âwizard medicineâ was a suggestion by a professor, who was aware of her excelling in herbology and potions, and her people skills (ironically, since she, then, was not the most social kid & her willingness to socialize and reach out was belated). despite over ten years working on st mungo, she still aspires for something more; her husband & her shares a dream to open a book shop of their own, but due to more pressing events, it keeps being pushed forward.
she married domitius on the spring of 72, about 26 months after they bonded while she nursed him back to health. her interest in men -- or relationships in general -- had been nonexistent until then, so it was a surprise not only for his prejudiced pureblooded family but also for those who knew elizabeth. regardless, she claims he is first her best friend, her soulmate, then her husband--he is also father of her children: five year old twins daniel and isolde & little cosette, not much older than a year old. if you catch fictional characters names in there, youâre spot on (she is a nerd even as a mom, yes--fitting too, as her own name had come from the iconic austen heroine).
currently she works at the janus thickey ward as its healer in charge, although her presence is often required on the dai llewellyn ward due to her experience with some incidentsâ injuries; itâs not uncommon to see her reading the newspapers, books and letters to the patients.
however, it has been over a year since she last stepped on st mungo. her youngest child was born on early 1978, so elizabeth has been on maternity leave since then; as much as she loves her children (and she does, overwhelmingly so), the life of a stay at home mother does not agree with her anxiety so she is very eager to return to her routine, even if it means she has to stay away from her children for more than she wished she would--she takes as advantage her father is so good with them, and always willing to crash in their spare bedroom.
she is virtually incapable of staying still--if not with her nose in a book, itâs likely she is walking around, doing whatever needs to be done around wherever she is (and this does not only apply to her own house, much to her friendâs dismay). her nervous tics include tapping her fingers, tucking her hair behind her ears and biting her lips; fiddling with her clothes and her wand also apply so itâs not uncommon she is keen to hold peopleâs hands to prevent the anxiety to be too transparent.
elizabethâs ethical code is incorruptible, which is one of the main causes for any friction she may create with others--another would be her inability to stay still in face of wrongdoing; blindly, she will not admit she is a bit of a nosy judgmental holier-than-thou. thankfully (debatable for some), all that makes her just right to fight for the order.
elizabeth has an intimate knowledge of muggle mechanics, due to her fatherâs main line of work during her childhood years; even now, when she has lived most of her life in the wizard world, she is still curious and eager to learn and be connected with the muggle world and often finds herself doing things the muggle way.
EXTRAS (ish):
she is a saggitarius!! which is not what people first think of her, but elizabeth is just like um donât judge a book by its cover ok. but i donât blame people who take her as a virgo because ya know, girl is kinda....very virgo lmao (it is her ascendant anyways shhh). she was also born on 1950, which makes her a grandma tiger; she graduated hogwarts on 1968 (i donât think thereâs anyone who could have been classmates w her but,,,iâd die for this so pls bring me more old people!!!)
her wand is made of laurel wood & phoenix feather; it is quite bendy and is 10 3/4 in size. overall, i found it all very fitting!! laurel wands are said unable to perform a dishonorable act, and it does not accept lazy owners, who are often on a quest for glory -- it combines rather well with the flexibility, fitting for a woman who can not stand still / doing nothing / saying nothing for more than ten minutes.
her patronus is a weasel! people with this patronus tend to be ruled by instincts and very intuitive, and to be polite, honest and hardworking. (source)
her amortentiaâs scents are old manuscripts (she is passionate about books, but she adores old editions because of how personal they are), fresh ink (she is often writing something, and always carries both quills and muggle pens with herself), the first batch of bread of the day (she just,,,loves bread. it is a very nostalgic scent for her, remeting from her childhood), geer oil (her father is a mechanic, and often she helped him), chamomile (known for its calming effects, the rosier plants chamomile in their garden & it is elizabethâs husband to go choice of tea).
talking about scents, homegirl often smells of herbs. her husband keeps telling her she smells so good and like, yeah, he is cheesy as hell, but iâm pretty sure she does smell like heaven.
also about scents: she hates coffee and is the founder of coffee sucks society âą . expect dissertations about this on my writing.
pretty much all else i can say / know about her are on the many profiles iâve sent on my app. you can find them here if you donât mind the length ( 1, 2, 3, 4) & her aesthetics here + a weheartit collection (aint nobody got time for that other site) here.

Star Trek: The Next Generation: Season Six
-I am indefinitely grateful for your patience awaiting my semi-annual Star Trek: The Next Generation season recaps. Today I bestow upon you all my thoughts for the penultimate sixth season (trailer) of TNG. It is already a little jarring to realize I am down to one season left on this series I have gradually-yet-steadily been picking away at the past three years. Once again, all the screens here are courtesy of me pointing my outdated Samsung Galaxy S7 phone at the TV screen so you have my apologies for the questionable fidelity of the pics!
-For notable cast changes, there are several I want to make sure to address. Transporter Chief OâBrien (Colm Meaney) departs midway through this season to be a regular cast member on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine which started in January of 1993. I knew of Colmâs switching shows during this season for a while now and was anticipating some big episode or climactic scene explaining his departure from TNG. While there was a crossover episode introducing some of the new Deep Space Nine characters right before its debut, there was never a scene this addressing OâBrien leaving the EnterpriseâŠ.unless it was a quick passing line of dialogue that went right over my head! Another notable change is halfway through the season Counselor Troi (Marina Sirtis) gets chastised by a new interim commander for her unorthodox uniform and makes her fall in line wearing matching Enterprise uniforms with the rest of the crew. In the bonus interviews on the BluRay, Marina states how she had to fight for a matching uniform for many years and it was one of the few things the higher ups finally granted her.
-I am glad TNG compensated for the lack of a Q (John de Lancie) episode last season and had him in two episodes in season six. The first episode is a middling affair where he steals a Starfleet prospect who discovers she is a long lost member of the Q Continuum. The second Q episode fares much better where Q helps a stuck-in-purgatory-Picard (Patrick Stewart) after Doctor Crusher (Gates McFadden) has a return of poor doctoring and loses Picard on the operating table. The two travel back to pivotal moments in Picardâs younger days to see if he would change the past in order to get a second chance at the future in an investing episode. Speaking of Crusherâs poor doctoring, there is another episode this season where it feels like the writers are in on the joke and have an episode where Crusher is disbarred after some major bad doctoring again on her partâŠ.but of course Crusher manages to change that by the episodeâs end.
If my notes are accurate (no promises!), than I believe this is the first season with no appearance from Troiâs mother, Lwaxana (Majel Barrett)! I would not be surprised if she has two episode next season. Season six also does not feature an appearance from Wesley Crusher (Wil Wheaton), but I understand he will return in time for the series finale in season seven. A recurring character who does return is everyoneâs favorite engineer, Reginald Barclay (Dwight Schultz), who is in a couple episodes this season, with him playing a key part in a holodeck episode with another long overdue returning character I will touch on soon.
Not only does Worf has some killer episodes this season, he also demonstrates his prowess at Yoga this season....while Crusher continues to demonstrate her prowess at poor doctoring.
-There are a pair of excellent holodeck episodes this season. The first one is easily the best named episode of the entire series in âFistful of Datas.â It sees Troi, Data (Brent Spiner), Worf (Michael Dorn) and his son, Alexander go on a wild west adventure where problems with the holodeck causes Data to take over nearly all the AI personas in the simulation. Swashbuckling hilarity ensues! The other holodeck episode sees the return of Professor Moriarty (Daniel Davis). This was long anticipated since Moriartyâs last appearance in season two as the Sherlock Holmes antagonist who became self-aware and whose consciousness became trapped in the holodeck in the following four years. In âShip in a Bottle,â Moriarty attempts a master plan to connive his way out of the holodeck as a program and as an actual living being. The twists and turns that lead up to the gratifying resolution for everyone was a memorable ride and sadly Davisâs last guest appearance on the show. Daniel Davis and Patrick Stewart have a natural chemistry with each other that shines whenever those two share the screen, so I highly recommend tracking down and viewing both of his episodes!
-The flute that Picard was gifted in the previous season once again returns for a couple of memorable scenes when Picard starts courting another crew member who plays keyboard. Naturally this leads to the two having an emotional duet together that starts off kind of hokey, but by the end the pair had me reeled in all the way! Just click or press here to see for yourself.
-Worf has a few notable dedicated episodes this season. A two episode arc sees him track down a long lost colony of Klingons imprisoned by Romulans that has Worf encouraging them to relearn and embrace Klingon customs. Another episode has Worf dealing with the fallout of seeing the return of the Klingon god, Kahless, and the fascinating drama that unravels with another satisfying conclusion for all conflicting parties involved.
-Even though by season six nearly the entire cast and writing team was firing away on all cylinders, I would be lying if there were not a couple clunker episodes. Riker (Jonathon Frakes) portrays a mental patient in a play he is rehearsing for, but the play starts going to his head and he starts losing it for real, but the way the plot unfolds is a mess and a half to follow along with. The other dud is TNGâs homage to The Thing which sounds promising on paper, but instead features lousy CG of its âThingâ and a groan-inducing twist that was not entertaining whatsoever.
-As much as I enjoyed Leonard Nimoy returning to play Spock last season, I was delighted even more with The Original Series star James Doohan dusting off his communicator to portray Scotty. Watching him overcome his differences and exchange engineer expertise with Geordi (LeVar Burton) was a treat. The scene with Scotty and Picard sharing a drink on a holodeck reimagining of the original Enterprise gave me nostalgic goosebumps throughout.
-Season six started off with the conclusion to âTimeâs Arrowâ that saw the TNG crew time travelling back to the 1890s where they first encountered Guinan (Whoopi Goldberg) and were forced to alter the timeline to rescue Data, and win over an aggressive Mark Twain. While not on the level of the âBest of Both Worldsâ two-parter season finale, it was still a highly entertaining two-parter in its own right, and as I alluded to earlier, I am all for seeing the TNG crew in an old west setting. Season six ends with another cliffhanger that sees the Enterprise encounter the Borg again, and they manage to convince Data to flee the Enterprise to seemingly join the Borg as their new leader. Suffice it to say, I am intrigued to see how this pays off in season seven!
-I referenced a few times before here how I was keeping up with podcast reviews of every TNG episode with the show, Star Trek: The Next Conversation. It looks like I have finally caught up with where hosts Andrew Secunda and Matt Mira have recorded their latest shows just a couple episodes before the end of season six. It looks like they took a few extended breaks this season, and I cannot fault them for that at all when dealing with everything the pandemic has wreaked upon us all this past year. I still enjoyed their takes as usual, and plan on going back and listening to whenever they post new episodes to catch up with their remaining casts covering TNG. I understand they have a Patreon companion with exclusive podcasts dedicated with them marching through both Deep Space Nine and Voyager now, so who knows, I may have to start working my way through those series down the line.
-You know the drill by now, this BluRay is loaded with carried over DVD extra features and all new ones for the BluRay. Not including three commentary tracks for this season, there are just over three hours of behind-the-scenes interviews and documentaries. Almost all of them are informative, but I will only recommend a few of the must-see ones here. Mission Overview: Year Six has introspective reflections from Whoopi on âTimeâs Arrowâ and James Doohan on âRelics.â Bold New Directions has some fond insights on âFistful of Datasâ and fascinating memories from Stewart and Burton from getting their shot at directing episodes this season.
Beyond Five Year Mission â Evolution of Star Trek: The Next Generation is the headlining all-new bonus feature. It is an hour and a half, and split into three parts. Part one has plenty of love for being the cast and crewâs personal favorite season of the show, debuting Deep Space Nine concurrently during this season and trying their best to work within Gene Roddenberryâs âno conflictâ framework of the series. Part two is themed around TNG being more serious when compared to TOS, and highlighting how several episodes were scored. Part three stands out the most with an awesome story from Whoopi on what lead to her becoming involved on the show, Sirtis dealing with a lot of pushback from studio executives and Spinerâs love/hate relationship with the cat that played Spot.
There may be many hours of bonus interviews to sift through, but most of it is worth it for endearing moments above like Burton and Frakes sharing a laugh, and Spiner sharing his disdain for a certain feline.
-Season six is a step up from the minor-yet-noticeable dip in quality from season five, and brings it back to the high bar established with seasons three and four of TNG. The highs were remarkably prominent this season with some standout holodeck episodes, memorable two-parters, and a scintillating season finale that has me anticipating the kickoff to the season seven. I cannot believe it, after a few years of starting this, I am finally down to just one season left of this legendary show. Please join me one last time here in a few months for my thoughts on the final season of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Fear 3x13
I donât know where to start on this episode there is just too much to say so apologies in advance for jumping all over the place but AHHH this has to be the best of the series so far. Iâve read multiple reviews online saying how this episode balances the zombies vs human aspects of the show and dammit! It does that so damn perfectly I canât even I donât know where to start! Okay, deep breath, here we go:
Iâm going to get my more negative thoughts go first, so without further ado, WHAT THE ACTUAL FFFFRACK NICK AND MADISON! Half of me is so $%@#@%# happy Alicia is not with her mother anymore, the other half is like, Madison thatâs your daughter. We all know you prioritized Nick over her, but seriously? You just, what gave her a hug and some provisions and just? Waved bye? And then fought Nick? Are you @#$#$%$@?!!? Okay I do have to say, thank goodness, she got to the bunker when she didâŠbut thatâs about it.
And Nick. Nick I hope you and ThatGuy pull a Thelma and Louise by seasons end. First you joke and tease your sister about Jake saying someoneâs gotta protect him, then you cause his death (Donât Even Come At Me!) and then you lie to her face about it to cover for ThatGuy? Go Float Yourself! And now youâre going to tail Alicia to make sure sheâs safe? With ThatGuy?! Oh hellll no!
Anywho, on to more exciting thoughts :)
I sadly had very low expectations for this episode because I though Disaster Madison and Co. were only minutes away from the ranch and were going to devise some crazy plan to âsaveâ the ranchers along with He Who Must Not Be Named and Nick. So the first maybe 10 minutes I semi glossed by thinking Madison was going to burst in and bring along pandemonium. Then when Alicia mentioned less people more air, I completely forgot about everything outside the bunker and air vent, and the episode went to deliver amazingness is spades.
On talking dead they mentioned Alicia pulling out some AP Biology math skills and wow without a graphing calculator? Daaamn!!! But when she said fewer people less carbon dioxide, Ofeliaâs face of recognition was on point. I just canât even, but making that suggestion knowing that a guy in the âroom/circleâ was bitten? I donât know if Alicia really knew what she was getting into, not really. Iâm not sure I really knew what she was getting into, thatâs how enthralled? I was during my first watch. Up until the first..sacrifice? She was compartmentalizing the entire ordeal. Confidently asking people to come forward, clear voice eye contact, everything. Maybe it was shock from the past few hours outside, idk.
Ofelia said it last time as they walkers were flooding past the trailers, that the ranchers now listen to Alicia, and they will follow her. This episode completely cemented this, and then brutally ripped it away without mercy, and it was gorgeous. One of her first scenes is handing out water and putting her own panic on the backburner, and looking at the larger picture.
There are multiple references to other shows that could be made, but having seen the âcome forwardâ scene in the previews, I thought there was going to be a riot and someone was going to die and through the riot, they reanimated and thatâs how the zombies got in. But noooooope! I shouldnât have been surprised, but due to my low expectations for the episode still lingeringâŠ.then the ranchers started giving themselves up, and dammit thatâs probably when I started getting emotional. That one Nation man who stood up with that look of I donât even know on his face? How can you not get emotional over that expression? But then later onnn, ughhh!
Ofelia and Aliciaâs hug bye and then Ofelia glancing behind, ahh! That got me too! Last episode was bad enough, thinking all three werenât going to make it, but now thinking that again? Iâve said it before but I am loving these two working together these past few episodes, and Iâm so upset they are separated, so upset. The fangirl in my wishes Ofelia was able to go with her but oh well.
I understand why the bunker may have medicine, but why so much morphine? Morphine is Intense, so what was it doing in there? Such you may need some, but boxes of it? And what is Christine doing with the bitten? If she was doomed from the start, she would have been done by the time the air started knocking them out..? This whole morphine scene was gorgeous in the most dark and impossible ways. Yes a main character is leading the scene, but for me it was the extras, or the background characters who just hit this scene out of the park. Their reactions and faces and trying to give themselves a way outâŠ.damn! Just wow, Alycia took a backseat in this one, and it was perfect.
This is also where the episode gets harder to talk about because part of me tries to think, what if that were me? In either position? Would I be selfless enough to give myself up? Would I be able to let a loved one go who was bitten? Would I be okay knowing what would happen to me? Would I be able to do what Alicia did?
I do wonder why Christine didnât help Alicia actuallyâŠdo it. She gave her a pep talk (which oddly was like Madison saying Alicia youâre always the strong one), gave her knife back, and .. until later, thatâs it. Their talk though was perfection. She made up for her Madison-esque pep talk tenfold and told Alicia to never make decisions based on fear, and damn I need to come back to this character/discussion again later! Both ladies delivered their lines perfectly, the lady who played Christine almost stole the spotlight from Alycia, and Alicia telling her story about camp and Nick and the song, and then the song coming back laterâŠ.I may not hear that song the same way again. And not just bc its real-world contexts. But WOW speaking of acting! I mean this entire episode the acting I just canât even, you can tell everyone put in their 200% on this, and it shows in every sequence in that bunker and air vent. Like I said Christine almost stole the scene, and the background characters just sold the dire situation and sold the emotion. If any of them had given less than they had, I think the episode would have failed. But it was perfect. Alyciaâs this land is your land camp monologue was gorgeous and heartbreaking and just encompassed everything that character I built on. I hope she gets recognition for this one. Its amazing.
Question: When Alicia took care of the first guy, from the beginning who she noticed was bitten, and helped her through it all, he kept saying he was sorry for everything he had done. And I donât know what he is referring to. I thought he was new to this episode, what am I forgetting? Was he one of Troyâs?
Ofelia Interlude:
I completely forgot Ofelia and Crazy Dog were in the vents. Completely. I also thought in the preview/trailer, Crazy Dog was being attacked, so I thought he was done before the episode even started. And just another surprise was this really touching and raw moment between him and Ofelia, who we have seen work together and then I thought they were going to die last episode and just sdfsdfsdfsf I canât!
Itâs All Downhill From Here:
I will say, as many have, one of the episodes few flaws is that Alicia, out all Everyone in the bunker, was the only person to survive. . . . . . .  . . .. ??? What? No even one more? âŠâŠâŠ.. What?
Other than that, the rest of the bunker balances the human aspect of the show with the zombie aspect perfectly. I was so engrossed in the acting and story that it never occurred to me what it meant if someone died because of lack of air while in the bunker. I guess I forgot that the âdiseaseâ is airborne, so I didnât even think about the suffocated reanimating, because I was like, oh no air then you canât move obviouslyâŠ.. Until Alicia woke up that second time and I remembered zombies donât need air.
Okay this is reaching, but part of Aliciaâs second awakening reminded me of Rose on the door in titanicâŠI know thatâs bonkers but something about her singing the song and the fuzziness of the first few seconds just had me for a sec. Then the zombie rancher woke up! The scene of Alicia knocked out and the zombies getting up though!!!! Very chilling!
Ofelia Interlude No. 2:
Okay Iâm a broken record but I thought they were going to die again and part of me ughh wishes one of them did! I am glad that they showed Ofelia being affected by the gunshot close to her ear though.
While it was greatttt seeing Alicia fight off the zombies and get Christine into the locker, itâs also heartbreaking because literally all her hard work of protecting the ranch and trying to find water and merge the groups together and killing the bitten to save air for the others to live was completely worthless in the end. Sheâs taking out everyone she fought so hard to save, and she couldnât even save Christine in the end. I like how Jake teaching her about arming up helped her here, so it wasnât unbelievable that she was able to shoot them down. I also have to hand it to the music dept here too, itâs just greattt. Then Madison shows up.
And thatâs where the episode ends!!! (Actually no Ofelia finding out about Daniel, @%#$%#%$!!!) Haha, ugh. I was posting as I watched and I was so amazed by this episode I prematurely was like it can do no wrong itâs amazing I love it! And itâs at this part of the review you can go up top and see what it thought of the last few minutes.
Thanks for reading!! Next week looks great but I wonât get my hopes too far up

So I decided to make a large list of plots / faces / ships that I want, which you can find below the cut. Itâs long. Check it out and message me/like this if youâre interested in any of them!
MOST WANTED
So Iâve got 3 ships that I want most of all: Niels Schneider x Xavier Dolan, Daniel Sharman x Frank Dillane, and Niels Schneider x Daniel Sharman. Iâm completely open plot wise for any of these though for the Niels x Daniel one, I did make this post earlier and still 100% stand by it. I will love you forever if you do one of these with me.
CANONS
TEEN WOLF
I love this show too much and am so sad to see it go so why not do some 1x1s for it?Â
I love playing Isaac tbh and would love to have some ships for him. Allison x Isaac is like my OTP so if someone did that with me I would scream? Iâve also always been intrigued with the idea of Lydia x Isaac so I would totally love it if someone did that one too (and Iâm cool with changing Hollandâs face if youâre uncomfortable with her). Scott x Isaac, Stiles x Isaac, Jackson x Isaac are all some other suggestions. Iâm intrigued with Boyd x Isaac as well so thatâs a suggestion there too.
Also, sorry Thiam shippers, but Iâm 100% forever on the Briam train so if someone would play Liam against my Brett, Iâd be in heaven.
IN THE FLESH
Okay so, fun fact, this blog was re-purposed from an rp blog for a group that sadly died. It was an ITF inspired rp and I loved the character I played there and would love to bring him back. There was also a wanted connection I had for him that never got filled but that would be really great as a 1x1. You can read about my character Apollo Bellerose (Niels Schneider fc) here but hereâs also a summary of the idea.
(Muse A is Apollo, Muse B would be your character.)
M/M -- Muse A was a wild child, a feral animal of fire and rule-breaking. Hopes for him were dashed at an early age as he set himself up as the trouble-maker. Muse B was the opposite -- tempered and popular. The only reason their paths crossed was because they grew up in the same small town, in the same class. But that shouldâve been it. It was a surprise to everyone when Muse B and Muse A started hanging out together, soon becoming inseparable. They were just children but they were attached at the hip, growing into adolescence and teenagers. Muse A was still wild, Muse B was still calm -- fire and water, red and blue. When they were sixteen, their friendship evolved into something more intimate. Though the relationship could be fraught at time -- Muse A to blame in almost every case -- their bond ran deep. Or it did, until Muse B died suddenly. It was an accident or heart failure or something similar, sudden and unexpected. Too soon. One mightâve expected Muse A to go off the deep-end but, rather, he was numb, going through the motions. That was until the Rising happened and the dead came back. The world ground to a halt but with the PDS sufferers in treatment centers, the world is returning to normal and Muse A is getting back on his self-destructive track. He refuses to acknowledge that overwhelming possibility that Muse B would be one of those PDS sufferers, going so far as to avoid Muse Bâs grave. With the PDS sufferers returning to Roarton though, itâs only a matter of time before Muse A wouldnât be able to deny to it. But will an apocalypse be enough to sever their bond? Probably not.
My main suggestion for B was Xavier Dolan though I also originally suggested Daniel Sharman and Keith Powers. Matt Daddario, Bob Morley, and Dominic Sherwood would also work though Xavier and Daniel would be preferred. This is, like, one I really, really want to do still.
XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS
Campy 90s shows for the win (oh, and fuck you Looper -- itâs still perfectly watchable now). Anyways. I really want a Xena x Gabrielle plot, two bad-ass women travelling through the ancient world, kicking godly asses. As much as I love Lucy Lawless and Renee OâConnor, I realize that theyâre not really usable so Iâm totally down for changing the faces. Just... Please. Badass women and a canon that totally allows for AUs in all time periods -- itâd be awesome.
THE ORIGINALS
So um... I donât want like a really super canon 1x1 here but like, after Koleb died, I got in my head this idea of what if, when Davina brought back Kol, Kaleb hitched a ride back. Kalebâs bitter af but he was always kind of the way in my mind. The pairing would be Davina x Kaleb and we could also make this an OT3 if there was someone whoâd like to play Kol as well but thatâs not necessary for me.
LES AMOURS IMAGINAIRES
Uh... Indie French cinema for the win? Yeah, I know this wonât get any bites but Iâm gonna try anyways. Basically a few years after the end of the movie, Francis and Nicolas meet again. Thereâs been some maturing, maybe Francis isnât as close to Marie anymore (or maybe she got married or something). Itâs slow-burn reconnecting and falling in love.
FEAR THE WALKING DEAD
So... I know Troyâs a POS person but I think there was potential for evolution in his character. He was isolated from a young age with an abusive father and alcoholic mother which didnât give him much of a fighting chance in becoming a better person. Off the ranch though, I think he could have evolved. He also had a ton of useful information about walkers. Anyways, Iâd like to give him that arc. Also I want to explore that mad chemistry between Nick and Troy so yeah. This masterlist might be good for some general plot ideas and tbh the âWhoâs baby is this?â one just screams Trick to me.
GREEK MYTH
This can be like modern or actual myth -- eitherâs cool.Â
Zeus x Ganymede. Either historical like Zeus kidnaps him to be the wine-pourer and Zeus wants him but Ganymede is just perpetually pissed with him for KIDNAPPING him and Zeus has to win him over. Or maybe something modern thatâs more sugary daddy/baby-ish?
Telemachus. I really love my baby Telemachus? Or Telemaque as the French would say. But, basically, thereâs this suitor and heâs one of the younger ones, probably 25 or less, and not really in the running to win Penelopeâs hand but eh. He doesnât really care. He likes to tease Telemachus but as things get worse in Ithaca, he realizes heâs worried about Telemachus and starts teaching him how to fight and defending him and they start falling in love. He be all like âIâll go with youâ when Telemachus goes to find his father (even though he doesnât) and, when Odysseus returns, Telemachus has to defend him because he was technically one of the suitors and just... Please. (Iâd play Telemachus.)
Odysseus x Penelope. Clever Odysseus and clever Penelope, dominating and tricking the world with their superior minds. A modern!AU.
HARRY POTTER
I love this universe so Iâm super down for anything. I wonât do anything set at Hogwarts because I can never remain interested in that tbh but other stuff is cool. I highkey ship Remus x Sirius and would love to write them as long as the faces arenât Andrew Garfield or Ben Barnes. I also love all the potential in the fucked up dynamic between Fenrir and Remus. I usually end up playing Fenrir but if someone wanted to let me play Remus in that, Iâd adore you forever. A Regulus x Remus one would be awesome too. A Nymphadora x Remus ship would be cool too, as would a James x Lily or Lily x Marlene. Outside the Marauders era, someone needs to give me a Ginny x Cho ship. I also wrote a next gen son of Greyback (Lycus Greyback) once that Iâd love to bring back. Maybe with Teddy? Or OCs -- OCs in the HP universe are totally okay with me.
PLOTS
So this tag has the plots I want but some I particularly want.
X. Iâd like to be Muse B and maybe like have Tom Ellis as A? Or Jason Momoa? Idk. Iâm open but I think itâd be super fun.
X. Iâd be cool with playing either in this plot; Iâd love to see Troye Sivan as A but again open but fun sounding.
âyouâre supposed to be on a blind date with someone but you sat down at the wrong table and i havenât been able to get a word in edgewise to tell you that and itâs been thirty minutesâ from this post. Iâve no preferences on genders or faces just I think this could be cool.
Yo Iâve mentioned this multiple times not but THIS PLOTÂ with Daniel Sharman as A and Niels Schneider as B -- let me play B and love. me.
âwhat is the ONE thing i asked you NOT to do tonight?â âraise the deadâŠâ âAND WHAT DID YOU DO?!â ââŠraised the deadâŠâ from this post. I really want to play a necromancer? Maybe we could do a Trick!AU where the walkers are because of necromancers and Troy has had to repress the fact heâs one his entire life and then Jeremiah and Jake are dead and yeah. But we could also do this as entirely OC. Iâd still love it be necromancer-caused zombie apocalypse but Iâm cool with other stuff.
âiâm a ghost and iâm trapped in the graveyard and i donât normally talk to mortals but bro i have to ask wtf are you doing hanging around a graveyard is your life really this sadâ from this post. open and fun again!
X. PLEASE. Any sort of serial killer plot would be awesome. Which is a weird fucking thing to say but okay.
âyou and your friend always sit at the table a couple down from mine and gossip in [insert language here], which happens to be a language iâm currently learning. iâve been eavesdropping to try and improve my listening comprehension and oh my god are you actually talking about how hot i am???â -- this please, from this post. maybe like a daniel sharman x tyler posey? or idk.
literally anything from this post but like i mention âwhoâs baby is this? auâ for Trick in a canon divergent plot (ie. after they leave the ranch, before they get to the dam)
also this could also work for xavier dolan x niels schneider.
SHIPS
So how about a Xavier Dolan x Daniel Sharman? Or Jenna Thiam x Niels Schneider? Also Jack Falahee, Crystal Reed, Kat McNamara, Conrad Ricamora x Daniel Sharman. Other ones that donât include Daniel, Xavier, or Niels: Eva Green x Caitlin Stasey (Iâd also be cool with playing Eva if we used them for Xena and Gabrielle), Riz Ahmed x Fawad Khan (Fawad as a multi-billionaire playboy and Riz as a devoted grad student, maybe?), Charlie Hunnam x Jason Momoa, Marlon Teixeira x Willy Cartier, Andreja Pejic x Hari Nef, Andrew Garfield x Ben Barnes (but not as Remus and Sirius), Sofia Boutella x Charlize Theron.
FACES
Itâs very clear that I love Daniel Sharman and Niels Schneider so they will always be most wanted, with Xavier Dolan as a close third. I feel most comfortable with them tbh and have the most muse for them (also Iâve made like 400 gifs of Niels). If you want to make me happy, let me play one of them and play one of the others against me. I would like to branch out at some point though so some others. There are honestly too many for me to list in their entirety so Iâll list only ones I have mentioned already. Bold are ones I want to play, italics I want used against me, plain are the ones I have no preference about (though Iâd be open on most of the bold ones too).
Alycia Debnam-Carey, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Samuel Larsen, Adrianne Palicki, Laith Ashley, Elliot Fletcher, Iskra Lawrence, Lisa Teige, Iman Meskini, Hale Appleman, Tarjei Sandvik Moe, Adelaide Kane, Alexandra Daddario, Amber Heard, Josh Holloway, Angelina Jolie, Arden Cho, Barbara Palvin, Alex Saxon, Alexander Koch, Bianca Santos, Caity Lotz, Camila Quieroz, Cara Delevigne, Blake Michael, Avan Jogia, Austin Butler, Diego Barrueco, Bill Skarsgard, Booboo Stewart, Chloe Bridges, Byun Baek-Hyun, Diane Guerrero, Carlos Valdes, Josh Thomas, Dichen Lachman, Christopher Larkin, Eddie Redmayne, Ezra Miller, Gaspard Ulliel, Emeraude Toubia, Emilia Clarke, Famke Janssen, Gabriella Wilde, Halston Sage, Dev Patel, Douglas Booth, Godfrey Gao, Harry Shum Jr., Karen Fukuhara, Kiowa Gordon, Landon Liboiron, Matt Hitt, Matthew Gray Gubler, Keira Knightley, Kiana Lede, Lana Condor, Liza Soberano, Maira Walsh, Jamie Blackley, Jordan Fisher, Jamie Campbell-Bower, Megan Fox, Naomi Scott, Max Irons, Reece King, Richard Harmon, Natalia Dyer, Phoebe Tonkin, Priyanka Chopra, Madelaine Petsch, Seo Kang-Joon, Steven R. McQueen, Steven Yeun, Seychelle Gabriel, Shelley Hennig, Skyler Samuels, Haruma Miura, Lee Hyun-Jae, Thomas McDonell, Toby Regbo, Tom Holland, Tyler Blackburn, Joe Manganiello, Tyler Hoechlin, Cengiz Al, Froy Gutierrez, Tanya Beatty, Victoria Moroles, Zoe Kravtiz, Yoon Jeonghan.
This is not all-encompassing. There are plenty more faces. In fact, Iâd love to use model faces without any resources -- just some old-fashioned writing, maybe some static icons if we feel like it.

Chapter Four
Confusion (part 2)
Bryn allowed DeDe to drive her Ford and begrudgingly allowed Ryder to sit shotgun. He refused to pick them up unless he could sit in the front seat, so Bryn, Triston and Tailynn occupied back seats while Jamison scrunched into the back of her SUV with a flask filled all the way to the brim with Jack Daniels. Heâd grown fond of the whiskey in Middle school and apparently he hadnât switched his drink of choice.
Jamison passed it up to her.
âMy gift to you.â He said as he lopped both arms over the back seat. âHappy Birthday.â
âWhat a treasure,â She turned to Jamison and grabbed the bottle, musing: âJamison sharing his precious Jack.â
She took a gulp. When she was done, Jamison snatched it.
âDonât say I never did anything for you.â He pointed a finger at Bryn before he returned to the back of the SUV.
They made it to Downtown Bend quickly. DeDe loved driving fast. She pulled along a curb and everyone filed out but DeDe and Ryder.
âCall us when you are ready.â She called out before she sped away.
They followed the sidewalk toward several rows of buildings. The sun had already dipped below the white mountains, causing streaks of pink and purple to loom over the town. This was far different from the bar hopping Bryn had done in Portland. The skies in the city were hardly this brilliant, and the next bar was only two steps away. Business windows in Portland were plastered with neon lights, lines of people waited to get inside, and drunken girls leaned dizzily against the walls. Here, only a few people walked back and forth on the sidewalks, and each building had itâs own intricate spacing.
âDo you care where we go?â Triston asked.
âNo,â Bryn answered honestly. âI wouldnât know where to start.â
âWeâll head to Dukeâs first, itâs cheap and itâs got pool and a dancing. Win-win.â Triston replied as he and Jamison hung a left.
As they hung another left, Bryn could hear the repetitive thump of loud music. It came from a large building made of round logs. A patio wrapped around the bar and neon lights spilled from the windows.
Brynâs eyes were focused on the porch stairs beneath her wobbling heels when she ran straight into Jamisonâs back. He didnât sway, he stood shock still in front of a thick chested bouncer, smiling nervously.
"Whatâs up Troy?â Jamisonâs voice hid a thin tremble, one masked so expertly that only Bryn could detect it.
She nearly laughed. Was the effervescent, scrappy Jamison intimidated?Â
The bouncerâs steely eyes twitched in between the two boys. He was a large man and his belly was so round that his black shirt stretched tight over the top of it. Firmly, he crossed his hands over his chest and gave a raspy harrumph.
âSorry boys, not tonight.â He pushed them aside with a thick, hairy arm.
The bouncer switched his gaze to Bryn and Tailynn. With the hand he wasnât using to barricade Jamison and Triston, he reached an open palm.
âLadies, I.Dâs please?â
Bryn fumbled for hers. There had to be some way to get them into the bar. She had worked her girlish charm on bouncers before, but she doubted this man would fall for it.
âCome on Troy, let us in. We wonât cause any trouble.â Jamison scowled.
âNo can do, boys.â Troy answered. "Managerâs tired aâ you two hustling every game aâ pool under the sun.â
Bryn finally felt her wallet in the depths of her purse. She slipped out her ID and set it into the Bouncerâs sausage like fingers. As cute as she could possibly manage, she batted her eyelashes at the Beefy man.
âExcuse me, sir. Itâs my birthday this weekend and I rarely get to see my two favorite cousins.â She lied. âCould you please let them in?â
The bouncer frowned.
âPlease.â She pleaded again.
The man gave out a loud harrumph.
âOnly on a count aâ yer birthday.â He drawled.
Jamison pushed his way to Brynâs side, clasping her shoulders.
âThanks, Troy.â He said without the least bit of enthusiasm. He pushed Bryn passed Troy and through the double doors as he called over his shoulder. âWeâll be good, I promise.â
âJust tonight!â Troy called out angrily.
"So unfair.â Jamison ignored Troy as he reached Brynâs side. âA guy could never get passed Troy like that.â
Bryn shrugged, smug with her girlish charm. Cockily, she posted up against one of the wooden pillars inside the bar. She opened her mouth to gloat, but a tingle silenced her. Her fingertips buzzed at the connection between her palm and the pillar, flushing all the way through her chest and shooting straight through her.Â
Brynâs vision swirled before her like it had in her room, quick and forceful. She tried to call out to Jamison, to warn him, but it was too late. Darkness took over until she was no longer inside of herself.
It was another dream, but this time she was aware of it. She tried to shake it, but she couldnât shake, not in this dream. She hadnât a body to shake, but she could see her body. Somehow, she was above herself. She could see shades of blue and purple swallow her face. Blood smeared her across her nose and cheek. Slowly, the things around her body came to focus.People were screaming and brawling. Sirens chorused outside. Red and blue lights flashed.
Though this vision of her beaten, broken self was terrifying, she could only focus on how sheâd gotten here. She felt embarrassed. Had she fainted? In a bar full of people? Bryn cursed. She wanted to wake up. Only moments ago she was having fun. Wake up, she thought to herself. WAKE UP.
The images began to blur again and darkness closed in. This time she could feel her senses coming back. Her eyelids blinked forcefully until she was able to see what was truly in front of her, which were Jamisonâs dark blue eyes, inches from her face. It took her what felt like minutes to realize that he was shaking her shoulders vigorously.
âWhat the Hell Bryn!?â He shouted between shakes. âAre you ok?â
Quickly, she grabbed at the irritating hands that shook her.
âStop!â She said firmly. âI just fainted for a second. Itâs not a big deal.â
She pushed his hands from her and helped herself up from the ground. She rushed to collect the things that had toppled from her purse. When she rose, she found that Triston and Tailynn had joined Jamisonâs side.
âThat wasnât a panic attack, was it?â Triston reached for her worriedly. âIâve never seen you pass out like that before.â
âNo, I havenât had one for awhile. Iâve moved onto fainting now.â Bryn dodged his helping hands embarrassedly.
People were whispering concerns to one another as they stared. Truthfully, Bryn was just as concerned. Sheâd never had a fainting spell two days in a row.
âUgh,â She turned from the stares and started toward the bar. âIf I buy the first round would you save me some embarrassment and pretend like that never happened?â
âAre you sure you should be drinking after that?â Triston stumbled after Bryn. âIsnât that a health issue?â
    âItâs fine.â Bryn clipped impatiently.
She could feel Jamison and Triston exchanging glances behind her, she even caught Jamison shrugging at Triston from the corner of her eye.
She slipped into a leather bar stool decorated with fringe and brass tooling. The bartender reached her right away, nodding happily as Bryn ordered four shots of whiskey and promptly handed him her card.
âWhat in the hell did you guys do to get on his bad side?â Bryn asked in attempts to change the subject. She swung her body to face the boys as they took their seats, then she jerked a thumb to where Troy was checking I.Dâs âAnd donât lie, because I know itâs more than hustling pool.â
Triston grinned. It lit up his whole face.
âI didnât do anything.â He settled, running a knuckle over his stubbled cleft chin. âJamieâs the fighter, Iâve always got to calm his ass down.â
Jamison poked his head over the bar, his dimples flashing so intensely that it made you want to pinch them.
âNah, I am a good boy,â He said as the bartender set four empty glasses in front of Bryn.
Bryn scoffed at this. âGood boyâ was hardly an accurate description. Jamisonâs snide remarked earned another smile from Triston.
The bartender filled the glasses to the brim and Bryn slid them gracefully to their owners. She tipped hers back immediately, cringing at the after-taste.
"Jamison and I are gonna play some pool.â Triston set his glass down with a clink. âDo you and Tailynn wanna come?â
âNah.â Bryn dismissed his offer with only half of her attention.
She rose a hand, waving down the bartender for another, but Triston clapped a hand on Brynâs shoulder, leaning into catch the manâs attention before she did.
âThis girl is on my tab for the rest of the night. Itâs her birthday.â He thrust a red debit card over the bar toward the man.
âIsnât either, Triston.â Bryn attempted to argue. âYou donât have to do that. Save it for Saturday.â
âNo way.â Triston tested back. âItâs my treat. Iâm happy youâre here for the weekend.â
Bryn slunk back. Her cheeks flushing red. She had a hard time accepting gifts. Bashfully, she forced herself to accept it. Triston didnât wait for a thank you. The barstools to Brynâs left etched back as the boys set off.
The bartender looked like he came straight out of a 90s alternative rock band. Thick wavy hair fell to his shoulders. His V-neck was sporting a tuft of chest hair.
âCan I get an AMF, please?â Bryn asked eagerly.
"Feeling brave tonight?â The bartender questioned her drink choice.
âLike he said, itâs my birthday.â Bryn said, but she couldnât hold it back, she had to tell someone. Under her breath she mumbled: âand I am trying to get over a breakup.â
The bartender nodded his head sadly, moving his hands quickly between bottles and glasses as he concocted her drink.
âThis will cheer you up.â He winked.
The glass was chilled and damp at the sides. She lowered her mouth to the straw that stuck from the cup, washing the sting of whiskey from her mouth.
Tailynn still held the jumbo shot glass in her hand. Her face wrinkled at the sight.
âYou havenât finished that!?â Bryn all but shouted.
âNo.â Tailynn said, âThis stuff is vile, and I donât want to look like a wimp while we are being evaluated by some grade A hotties.â
Bryn looked around, searching for these âhottiesâ Tailynn spoke of.
âBryn!â Tailynn scolded. She slapped Brynâs shoulder so hard it stung.âYou canât look right after Iâve said something.â
âOh.â Bryn lowered her head to her drink.
âShit.â Taylinn grumbled and tossed the shot back as masculinely as a girl like her could. âThey saw you looking. The cute one is walking over here.â
âYouâre kidding.â Bryn fret.
She rose her drink to her mouth and slurped nervously, her lipstick leaving a faded maroon stain on the straw.
She flushed as a lanky man in a leather jacket slid into the stool beside her. Tailynn was right, there was something intriguing about this man. Bryn liked the way his brown hair fell around his face in perfectly quaffed ringlets, she like his approachable smile. Had she not been in such a foul mood, she might have enjoyed his company, but his friendliness only served as an annoyance.
He nodded to her drink, a flirtatious grin playing at his lips. âI couldnât help but notice that you are almost done with your drink, and your friend over there is with out one."
Bryn looked down at her drink. Holy Hell she was. That really must have been some nervous gulping.
âAre you planning on doing something about it?â She said. She meant for it to be snarky, but halfway through she realized that he had definitely mistaken her wit for flirtation .
"Yes actually,â he laughed and moved in between the two girls.
He continued to talk, but Bryn didnât pay attention. She glanced around, looking for the other man that accompanied her new friend. She found him leaning against the marbled counter. He looked a little rough, like maybe he worked an outside job. Building houses, Bryn imagined. His jaw drew a hard line, set strong in focus as he watched the T.V. above the bar. Truthfully, Bryn had to disagree with Tailynn, compared to this man the curly haired man beside her was by no means the âcute oneâ of the two.
âHello?â The man next to her tapped at her shoulder.
âSorry, What did you say?â
"I was just asking what you wanted to drink.â
âOh, Iâll have whatever she is having.â Bryn waved at Tailynn quickly and then shot a glance back over to the handsome stranger, hoping that he hadnât noticed her oggling.
The bartender poured red grenadine into 2 tall spindly glasses holding an orange liquid.
Yuck, tequila sunrises. Bryn reluctantly took the drink from the bartender. She should have known not to order the same thing as Tailynn. The girl lived off of sugar.
âMy friend and I are going to check out the D.J., you guys want to join?â
Bryn frowned as she looked outside at the flashing lights. A booth was set, elevated from a crowd of people dancing tightly together.
"We have to meet up with our friends at the pool tables.â Tailynn said. âBut maybe we can meet you out there?â
âCool, Iâll look for you.â He winked before he jerked his head at his friend. The friend, who had since unglued himself from the T.V., followed him outside.
âBryn, are you sure you donât want to dance?â Tailynn asked once they were alone. "You love to dance.â
âI donât know, I donât feel like it.â
Tailynn slumped her shoulders. She stirred her drink impatiently.
âWhatever, I get it. youâre mad because Kyleâs being moody and blah blah blah. But I came here to have fun.â She picked up her purse and removed herself from the barstool. âAre you coming or not?â
Bryn rolled her eyes. She rose from her seat after collecting her own purse and drink. As her feet hit the ground, her buzz turned into a drunk. She wobbled as she followed Tailynn.
Large pillars of carved wood sectioned off the Billiard Room. It was darker in this room than the bar, and the music was louder too.
âI thought you two were supposed to be hustling games?â Bryn heard Tailynn tease as she approached their table.  "You sounded pretty famous, I was excited to see.â
Jamison rose from a shot, sinking not one, but two solid colored balls into separate pockets with a loud crack. He pointed his pool stick across the table and toward a dark corner.
"Not with Neighborhood Watch out there. Troy wonât take his eyes off us.â
    âDamn,â Bryn swirled.
âYeah,â Tailynn agreed as she snatched Brynâs purse and tucked it next to hers under the pool table. âWell, while you two have the time of your lives playing pool, Bryn and I are gonna go dance.â
Jamison, who was bent over his next shot, tossed his head back in frustration.
âYou guys arenât going to go dance with those two boneheads that swooped in the second we left, are you?â
Bryn and Tailynn looked to one another, debating on whether or not to fib.
âReally? Those guys are tools.â Triston said disapprovingly as he joined Jamisonâs side.
âSeemed pretty nice to me.â Bryn countered their protests. âHe even bought me this disgusting drink.â
She thrusted the drink in the air. She hadnât even taken a sip of it.
âJust because he bought you a drink, doesnât make him a nice guy.â Triston snapped. âI know those guys. Kyle wouldnât want you hanging around them, let alone dancing with them.â
Tailynn went silent, but fire surged through Brynâs bones.
âWell, Kyle dumped me this morning.â Had she not been so tipsy, she would have never came out with it this way. âI hardly think he cares who I hang around at the bars with.â
âWha-â Triston looked to Jamison for help, but Jamison provided none. Jamison had yet to meet Kyle, and his disposition made that clear. âBryn, Iâm so sorry. I didnât-â
"If you need us, weâll be dancing.â Bryn turned to face the patio.
As she took a step, she felt a hand clasp hers and jerk her backward. It was Triston.
âLook,â He said. â I know youâre mad. Youâve obviously had a long day, but I donât like those guys.â
