Aku masih ingat jelas, terakhir kali aku menulis tentang #R adalah pada tanggal 07-07-2017. Yang mana, di tulisan itu aku bertekad untuk berhenti menulis tentang dia lagi. Dan kalau ditanya “kenapa bisa?”, aku akan menjawab dengan lantang bahwa: time heals (almost) everything.

Setelah cerita #R berakhir, aku bertemu dengan seseorang. Secara nyata dan kali ini dapat dijangkau. Seseorang yang secara tidak langsung membuatku melupakan harapan tentang #R. Seseorang yang mendadak membuat #R menjadi tidak penting lagi. Seseorang yang membuatku percaya, selalu ada waktu lain untuk mencinta.

Dia orang yang baik. Tapi, sepertinya dia juga baik pada semua orang. Dan itu yang membuat aku resah. Aku tidak tahu kapan tepatnya aku mulai melihat dia bukan sebagai teman biasa lagi. Yang pasti, aku ingin dia menatapku dengan kadar kekaguman yang sama seperti aku menatapnya. Namun, itu adalah hal yang mustahil. Aku tahu itu. Sejak dari awal.

Percakapan dengannya selalu berkesan di ingatanku. Dari yang singkat hingga yang lama. Aku jelas tahu dia tidak ingin melibatkan rasa. Maka dari itu, aku mencoba untuk tidak menunjukkan, walau sebenarnya aku selalu gagal untuk tidak memberi kode-kode padanya. Aku menghargai keputusannya untuk berteman saja. Aku, dia, kami tahu semua akan jauh...jauh...jauh...lebih sederhana jika tidak bawa-bawa perasaan.

Seperti kata Kak Susyillona--apa yang bisa membuat kita tersenyum, nikmati dan jalani saja. Kita tidak akan pernah tahu siapa yang terbaik kalau kita tidak membuka hati. Jadi, ya, sekarang aku pun berusaha untuk menciptakan kesempatan-kesempatan itu, tapi aku tidak ingin memaksa dia. Kali ini, aku akan membiarkan semesta yang memberi tanda untuknya.

Dan, sekarang mari kita lihat bagaimana cerita ini selanjutnya.

We've seen Duane's holy book. How big is the Geffendur cannon? Bigger or smaller than the Bible? Does it span many or few authors?

You’ve seen one part of Duane’s holy book. The volume he carries is called Northsongs, and is only one part of Ssael’s library of writings, all of which are considered very important. Northsongs is the last thing he wrote. The bulk of it was purportedly written after he’d died, and it’s got all the stuff about killing the gods and taking over the world. His writings before that ranged from philosophy to cookery to personal grooming, as well as many, many volumes on pymaric theory. It’s hard to argue the historical existence of the man.

Gefendur Scriptures have never been collected into a single volume but are scattered among collections of stories drawn from multiple ancient cultures, and are referred to that way. So you have the Eiok canon, the Goodbyers’ canon, the Itraera canon, and so on. None of them have known authors, and there have been bits of it over the centuries that have been dismissed as false once they were found to have a human author. The Gefendur do not trust holy writings that stink of men. A man can write a book of scripture just as easily as he can write a check.

Gefendur canon is much longer than the Bible, and many of its stories and accounts far more detailed. The story of Tirna’s fall and her travels through the Second World are themselves as long as the New Testament, broken into different chapters as she meets her Sister’s many children, learning from some, rejecting others, torturing a few, blessing just a handful. There are a few prehistoric victori/vaosa who have their own stories canonized and included in Scripture as well.
