Helped a grandma at hobby lobby pick out some art supplies for her grandkid for christmas. 🥰

I was picking up a few skintone alcohol markers for my collection when she asked what they were and what you use them for. I told her I usually draw characters in lineart and use the markers to color them in. Told her how they can be layered and blended together, showed her the Copics, and told her the difference between them and the hobby lobby brand...

I asked if she was buying for herself or for a gift, and she told me her teenage grandkid was a skilled artist and wanted some art supplies for xmas. She said that they usually draw cartoon charaters and animals. (the way she talked about them, i knew they were furries 💜)

So I told her the markers would be a great choice, since there was a 24 pack that was 40% off. But so was everything else by the hobby lobby brand, so i also showed her the colored pencils and fineliners.

I told her how my own great-grandma bought me my first set of prismacolor scholars, and how it helped me learn to use and mix colors in my art. (because i was only doing pencil sketches and lineart at that point) This apparently inspired her to also pick up a 68 pack of colored pencils and some fineliners for linework.

Then i saw her later with a mixed media sketchbook in her cart. 🥰

Yall, my Nana(grandma) made me a crochet version of my persona!! here's a link how how it looks!!! :D Front Back I'm so happy, i love her so much and it mean so much to me she made this, I'm trying to think of what to give her back but she never accepts money, I'm trying to think of a physical crafty thing but i dont know what would be good. Like i could make a drawing ad print it out but idk.

She has always been so accepting of me to! Back when i thought i was gay she was so supportive! When i came out as nonbinary she try's her best to use the right pronouns and correct others! When i came out as AroAce to her in June she made me a flag and I didn't even tell her about the AroAce flag!! I showed her the other two and she did her own research!!! I'm so lucky to have her in my life :']

If any of you don't have a supportive family member in your life just know my family supports you, even if you don't know us and we don't know you, we are so proud of you :]
