Bad Batch: Season 3
My Predictions
The final countdown has started and I'm not ready at ALL! Here are some of my predictions for Season 3 and what I could imagine happening!
Tumblr media
1. Tech will be back.
Tumblr media
Yes, the trope of dead characters returning is incredibly overused. But as many others I have a good reason to believe that Tech might still be alive. Think about it. It’s pretty likely Hemlock managed to locate Tech’s body considering he left us a huge breadcrumb: his goggles.
Why would Hemlock get rid of a genetically enhanced super soldier, especially considering he likely knows how to properly brainwash someone?
I too like to think that Tech might be the black armoured soldier in the front. It’s the same, if not similar armour as Clone X. Maybe these are part of a special type of clone assassins or troopers? Could they be the prototype for the Dark or Death Trooper?
It’s pretty plain to say that Tech will likely come back, though probably not as the Tech we know.
2. Crosshair & Omega Dynamic
Tumblr media
We've seen Omega genuinely bond with all of the Bad Batch - except for Crosshair. Despite her trying her best to get to him every time they had the chance to interact, he denied her any kind of response. Whether that would be because he's just too withdrawn or because he refuses to let anyone see his vulnerable side, we don't know so far.
What we do know however, both based on pure logic alone and the fact that we've heard them both involved in a heated debate in the leaked trailer from the Star Wars Celebration last year, is that they likely will spending a lot of time together on-screen now that they're both captives of the Empire.
Hopefully Omega will be able to lift Cross' spirits, he doesn't seem to be doing very well from what we've seen!
3. Ventress will be an enemy!
Tumblr media
Asajj Ventress! We all know and love her, so naturally it's incredibly nice to find out that she'll be returning to the screens for the final season of the Bad Batch! Despite they're naturally being some raised eyebrows considering her fate in the Dark Disciple book, I'm curious to see in what way they'll connect the stories!
However, seeing as Ventress could rather be classified as an anti-hero rather than a full on hero, I believe that she won't be helping the Batch but rather fighting them in order to get to what she wants - as she likes to do.
Perhaps she'll end up cooperating when she realises there might be no other solution, but I strongly doubt she'll be any help to them when it comes to following their personal goals.
4. The Fall of the Clone Rebellion
Tumblr media
It's sadly no secret that given the events of Rebels and the three remaining clones Rex, Gregor & Wolffe, it's very likely the rebellions aka rescue of the clones didn't go as initially planned.
I could imagine this being explained a bit clearer in the finale, perhaps even leading up to a great fight against the Empire in the end. We can't forget that the series mainly revolves around a rogue batch of clones, so the thought that it might also go out with a clone-centric subject, especially such a big one, isn't necessarily far-fetched.
5. The End of the Mission
Tumblr media
And finally, my most tragic prediction: The end of the Bad Batch.
The writers have been making it very clear that season 3 will likely be the darkest season of the show which unfortunately leads me to think that, as much as I'd want it not to be the case, the finale will lead to the ultimate end of Clone Force 99.
I suspect the series to end with the batch ending up together in some way, as the original five, and landing in a tricky life-or-death situation. Perhaps they'll be stuck in a crashing ship with a one-person escape pod or maybe they'll be facing a threatening figure such as Sidious, leading to the decision to sacrifice themselves in order to protect Omega.
Tumblr media
Either way, despite season 3 likely becoming a tragic rollercoaster of emotions, I'm glad we had the chance to experience the epic story of the Bad Batch. It's sad to see them go and although these characters have become like a family not only to me, but to many other fans, let's enjoy our last moments with them and let them go out with a bang!

if the Sinners got a dog
(below the cut because I actually have a decent amount of thoughts on this)
Outis: one of the only (and possibly THE only) sinners committed to disciplining the dog. She’s a bit perturbed that the dog won’t reliably sit/stay on command because it tends to jump at random intervals instead (Don Quixote’s influence).
Has some belief that if she speaks in a voice that’s authoritative enough, the dog will understand what she’s saying. Is displeased when that doesn’t happen. “Why are you trying to sit on me? No.” “It’s because the dog likes you” “If she likes me she will sit politely on the ground as she is supposed to”
Rodya: She was the one who named the dog, and probably rescued it off of the street, insisting that they should keep the dog at least for a little while. Feeds the dog a bit of whatever the Sinners are having. “That’s not good for dogs!” “A little won’t do her any harm~”
Sinclair: He wasn’t sure what to make of the dog at first (it’s probably not vaccinated, and he only became sure it didn’t have rabies after a couple of days), but he’s pretty fond of it. Whenever he’s in need of company, the dog appears without him needing to say anything. It’s warm, soft, and close, and he definitely thinks of it as a family member. That being said he personally has a steep learning curve of “how to take care of a dog” (if he had one in his previous years then there was probably a butler to take care of it)
Heathcliff: I recently read Wuthering Heights. This gives me reason to suspect that Heathcliff would not be a big fan of the dog, at least at first. He’s fine with it from a distance, but protests to having to touch it (and to having it touch him). I’d imagine that it gets on his good side eventually, though, and he’d probably be one of those people who wants the dog to love him the most out of everyone.
Ryōshū: They weren’t really sure how she would react to the dog at first. She’s currently trying to teach it how to sic. Given the opportunity, she’ll examine the dog’s body. Her efforts of questionable motivation led to the discovery that the dog is missing a tooth.
Gregor: After 5.5, I think it’s safe to say that he’s the “dad with the dog he didn’t want”. He notices that the dog is repulsed by the smell of cigarettes and doesn’t smoke as actively when he’s around it.
Don Quixote: She wants the dog to be her sidekick. She’s taught the dog how to hug (ie how to jump and put its paws on her chest/shoulder), and is hoping to teach the dog how to do some advanced stunts. “Move forth, my companion, and fetch mine lance!” (Dog does nothing)
Yi Sang: The dog is his buddy. He’s a bit concerned about the idea that the dog could be involved in Limbus Company’s business, but has no problem with the idea of teaching the dog some more simple stuff (eg how to track scents and find lost people/things).
Faust: If there’s a City equivalent to a Wikipedia page on dogs, she probably read it. Several times. She wouldn’t say it, but the dog’s capriciousness often confounds her. In lieu of a microchip, she made a tracking collar for the dog.
Meursault: He and the dog share a certain special bond due to his willingness to walk, clean up after, and generally take care of the dog when others don’t feel like it. He’s not necessarily a fan of the whole “spontaneous tackling” thing, but he’s big enough to avoid being pushed over and has few other complaints about the dog. With the lack of interest in training the dog on the bus, he doesn’t see the use of disclosing what he knows about training dogs.
Ishmael: She likes the dog. Walking the dog often brings her mixed feelings, since it reminds her of the other experiences she’s had with being on the end of a guiding rope. She’s figured out that she can derail Heathcliff’s train of thought by invoking the dog, either physically or in name, and she’s greatly enjoying this ability.
Vergilius: He was dubious about the whole “dog on the bus” thing. Since Charon seems to enjoy the dog’s presence, however, he sees no point in objecting to it. He doesn’t dislike dogs, but the fact that anything bad happening to the dog could have catastrophic consequences means he’s always a little on edge around it. If the Sinners weren’t planning on doing their best to take care of it before, they certainly are after receiving some Red Gaze-brand reminders to be responsible pet owners.
Dante: Rewinding dog scratches is a small burden, but please, can SOMEONE cut the dog’s nails? They like the dog, but their clock head doesn’t seem to win them any canine popularity points. They’re both disappointed and relieved that the dog doesn’t count as a thirteenth Sinner.

A spooky month theory about a guy we havent even heard the voice of yet
Tumblr media
yk this fella?
Tumblr media
thats him, obviously i sadly dont have the proof of this but pelo said we've seen this guy BEFORE the picture he's an old-ish guy, who is not any old guy that's appeared in the series(hes def not mr wonder and gregor is not only present in the same ep, but also bald) so lemme give my theory on who he could be
Tumblr media
this picture shows that he is approximately one bob tall considering how neither of them have changed much in like 20 years i imagine the size difference has not changed either the fella is also definitely a little chubby, and currently has quite a big bald spot
i know somebody who also has ALL of these things. hear me out...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
he is ALSO one bob tall! and before you say "nuhuh hes dead", OBJECTION.
Tumblr media
he was put in a poster with all the important characters on it, going after jaune, who didnt even EXIST when he did and we didnt actually see him die. as jack said, "IT" was still "MOVING" during the LAST second of the ep 3 alternate ending. and so HOW did he surivive all those gunshots? well, hes in the cult. same one as bob, we ALL remember bob right? well what did bob do? he was able to be alive after "dying" and being shot a million times. SOUNDS FAMILIAR, HUH?
could i be wrong? OH DEFINITELY THIS IS VERY FAR-FETCHED and we havent even heard the fella's VOICE yet so they could be very different or even not even voice acted by the same person(pelo's known to do things like that when a character looks different but is the same character, VA'd by the same person. think dexter/dexfella) but at the same time we dont really know right now so im just throwing in my 2 cents here

The Dragon's Daughter - 23
Tumblr media
(Warnings: A tiny bit of angst, planning for Rhaella’s upcoming name-day, Rhaella has a talk with Cersei so that’s always a bucket of sunshine)
Dothraki will be in bold
High Valyrian will be in cursive
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rhaella was quiet as she sat in front of the many documents spread out over her table, a quill in her hand, an inkpot nearby as she read over one document and signed off on another. She barely registered the knock on her door, only humming quietly, giving a brief nod and Ezzo opened the doors to her chambers to let whoever had knocked inside. “Your Grace,” Tyrion greeted, Rhaella looking up at him, watching him bow his head before approaching, her eyes back on the papers and documents “my Lord Hand. To what do I owe this pleasure?- Have you heard from Yara? She last told of a few fishing boats she intended sent out to scout the ships near Dorne?” she asked casually, clearly wrapped up in her work, Falia bringing over a tray with food through the open doors, having gone to fetch her Queen some lunch while she worked. “My Lord” Falia greeted and curtseyed before continuing towards the table, putting the tray down and beginning to unload it, putting the tray aside and walking over to a small table with a jug and some goblets, filling one of them with some wine. “I’m sorry to disturb you, Your Grace, but I thought perhaps it was time to discuss the upcoming celebrations” Tyrion stated, approaching hesitantly, only pulling out a chair and sitting down when she gave her hand a brief wave to signal her invitation to him to sit down. “What celebrations?” she asked casually before looking up at him with a frown “is it my mother’s name-day soon?? Or father’s?? It can’t be my brother’s… or is it something else?” she asked rapidly and Tyrion frowned at her yet with a small smile. “It’s soon to be your name-day, Your Grace” he reminded her and she frowned with obvious confusion, looking up at Falia who tried to suppress her laughter and a grin, looking away and Rhaella sighed. “You couldn’t have told me?”
“Forgive me, Your Grace, it must have slipped my mind” Falia stated sincerely with feigned innocence, bowing and curtseying, but they both knew that Rhaella was far from angry with her, Rhaella sighing with a brief smile before turning back to her papers. “So, have you heard from Yara?”
“Your Grace-”
“My Lord Hand” she replied swiftly and politely, Tyrion sighing heavily before nodding “there’s been no word yet, nor have there been any word from Dorne. The citywatch have captured several people believed to be foot soldiers for this ‘guild’ and many of them await interrogation” Tyrion reported and Rhaella nodded, signing a few documents before putting her quill down and leaning back in her seat, finally turning her attention to her Hand. “Good. We’ll give Yara and Dorne another two months and if there’s no word after that, we’ll send someone to make sure that they’re alright. As for the interrogations, I want no torture” she stated plainly, tilting her head at a confused Tyrion “Your Grace, I-”
“Torture is both barbaric and tasteless. And while it may be reliable, to some extent, it does not make up for the barbarity. We are better than that. Leave the barbarity to the wild animals” she stated plainly before sighing, looking down “I know it is-... unusual… but I am certain that there are other ways of finding the answers we’re looking for than to flay a man alive or burn him or something else totally barbaric” she stated with a frown, looking back at Tyrion “you’re a clever man, Lord Tyrion, and I know that I am not an easy Queen to serve, but I ask that you find another way. If there truly is no other way, if nothing else works, then I will allow any means that Ser Gregor deems fit, within reasonable bounds of course, however tasteless they may be…” she muttered the last part, a frown on her brows as Tyrion studied her “you’re a good Queen. And you are not always the easiest to serve, that is the truth. Neither was your mother. But I see in you what I saw in her… you’re trying to build a better world, your mother broke the wheel, and you are making sure that it stays broken. You care for the common folk and the nobles alike, even trying to spare criminals from torture and other-… less than pleasant interrogation methods. I am proud to serve you” Tyrion stated softly and Rhaella smiled ever so slightly, looking away before sighing. “I suppose you’ll be wanting to discuss my upcoming name-day now?”
“Very much so, Your Grace.”
“I don’t understand the concept… as a child it was fun and exciting, of course, but now that I’m older… my mother did all the hard work, it is she who should be celebrated, not I” she stated with a small huff, slumping back in her chair, Tyrion smirking ever so slightly “many things could have gone wrong. Many things did go wrong. Perhaps people want to celebrate all the things that didn’t go wrong. Your life is something to be celebrated. Your ascension to the throne is to be celebrated and you deserve it” Tyrion replied softly, Falia stepping forward, hands folded neatly in front of her “if I may, Your Grace?” she asked and Rhaella looked at her, giving a small nod of permission and Falia smiled “I was a young girl, just like you, when your mother ascended the throne. Cersei Lannister was-...” she glanced nervously at Tyrion, who looked down, before looking back at her Queen “not like your mother” she concluded politely “your mother freed us from a tyrant and yet she showed that tyrant a mercy that many don’t agree that she deserves, letting her live out her life in the Black Cells, instead of taking her life. Your birth and naming is something to be celebrated, and I know for a fact that everyone in this castle agrees. Everyone is proud to serve you, and eager to celebrate you. It’ll be your first name-day on the throne, Your Grace, that is worth celebrating. If nothing else, perhaps you’d allow us to celebrate you, even if you’re not fond of the idea yourself” Falia spoke and Rhaella sighed heavily, tapping the table with her finger as she narrowed her eyes at Falia “I am getting increasingly annoyed with your ability to make me see reason, Falia.”
“If I may, Your Grace… no, you’re not.”
“No, I’m not” she agreed, smirking ever so slightly before turning to Tyrion, sighing heavily as she sat up straighter in her seat “if my name-day must be celebrated, then I agree…”
“Excellent! What would you like to do on your name-day?”
“I-... hadn’t thought that far” she admitted sheepishly and Tyrion nodded awkwardly, looking around before raising his eyebrows “a-... tournament, perhaps?” he offered and she hesitated before sighing “gather the council members, we’ll discuss the details there” Rhaella muttered, Tyrion nodding with a smile “a fine idea, Your Grace. I’ll see you in the Small Council chamber, then?”
“Yes” she agreed with a sigh, watching Tyrion get up and leave, Rhaella leaning her head back with a heavy sigh, Falia approaching “thank you, Your Grace.”
“For what?”
“For allowing us to celebrate you” Falia replied sweetly before lifting the goblet of wine she’d poured earlier and offering it to the Queen. “Perhaps lunch would be a good idea?”
“I hate you” Rhaella mumbled with a pout as she took the wine and Falia chuckled “no you don’t” she pointed out, helping clear up the papers and documents to make room for the food she’d brought, Rhaella watching her with a smirk as she scoffed with amusement “no, I don’t” she agreed again, laughing quietly with Falia before looking to Ezzo, nodding him over. “Are you hungry?”
“Always, you know this” Ezzo replied with a smirk and Rhaella chuckled, gesturing to the food as she began to eat some of it herself, Ezzo following and Falia did as well when Rhaella gestured for her to eat the food. It seemed the Queen was a social eater, enjoying the company of someone else while she ate, even if that company was also enjoyed in silence.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Rhaella was quiet as she sat in the Small Council chamber at the head of the table, everyone shifting awkwardly, not sure who should speak up first, the Queen seemed rather… distant at the moment. “Your Grace, perhaps the tournament could be a fine place for me to look for Ser Thea’s replacement? Grand Maester Ricardo tells me that her fever have not yet broken and that we must prepare for the worst” Ser Brienne spoke up and Ricardo nodded “it’s true, Your Grace. Ser Thea has been a faithful servant and protector since she first came into your mother’s Queensgarde-”
“She’s not dead yet-”
“If I may, Your Grace… I spoke with her not long ago… she-... wishes to be dismissed…” Ser Brienne admitted and Rhaella frowned at her, sitting up a little straighter “the role of a King or Queensgarde is for life, Lord Commander Brienne…”
“Ser Barristan-”
“Was done a great injustice and a disservice!” Rhaella interrupted Tyrion, looking at him with wide eyes before sighing, closing her eyes briefly to try and calm herself “and yet… had it not been for him and his… dismissal… Neither my mother nor I would be here today…” she muttered before sighing, nodding “Ser Thea will get her wish, if it is truly what she desires… Does she have any family?”
“A brother, Your Grace. He resides in the Riverlands.”
“Parents?”
“Dead, both of them… they-” Brienne hesitated, glancing at Tyrion before looking back at Rhaella “they were near the old Sept of Baelor when the wild fire was set loose” she admitted, Tyrion closing his eyes in regret and anger at his sister’s crazed decisions. So many people died that day… all because she was spiteful…
“I see… Are they close?”
“Very, from what she told me.”
“Good… have word sent for her brother- no, have an escort be sent” she declared, sighing softly as she shook her head “no one should die alone… tell them to make haste. Ser Clegane, I trust you to see this through? Ser Thea has been loyal to the Crown and the Kingdoms, she deserves to be with family in her last hours…” Rhaella declared and he gave a brief nod, Ser Brienne smiling ever so slightly “it will please Ser Thea greatly, Your Grace.”
“Grand Maester Ricardo, Maester Tarly, I trust you two to keep her with us until her brother arrives” Rhaella ordered before sitting up a little straighter “now… I assume all of you are waiting to hear what I have intended for my name-day…” she trailed off, Bronn looking around the quiet room “yeah, thought did cross once or twice” he half-joked and Rhaella smirked a little “well… I was thinking of a tournament, to satisfy whatever the nobles want on my name-day… and for the common folk… a contest” she stated with a smirk, the entire Small Council glancing between themselves with confusion. “A contest to see who can make the best bread. All ingredients will be provided to bake one loaf of bread, we will find someone to try out the bread once they’re finished and prices will be given out to the winners.”
“Winners, Your Grace?... As in… more than one?”
“Three winners may appear. They will win either first place, second place or third place, their reward tied to what place they won. The others will win one large bag of flour and grain each for their participation” she replied swiftly, looking between them with a smirk “two bakers from every street in King’s Landing are to be chosen specifically, they are to be given their ingredients and once their bread is made, they are to present the bread to the tasters who will then decide the winner. Any questions?”
“How are they to be chosen, Your Grace?”
“The people will choose them. They have three months to do so. The reward for the winner in the third place will be one hundred gold dragons, the second place will receive two hundred, and the first place will receive three hundred gold dragons.”
“And… where will this… contest take place?”
“Their kitchens, if that’s what they’re most comfortable with. For those that can’t or don’t have an opportunity to, we will figure something out, something around where the old sept is being rebuilt, it’s also where the tasting will take place… in honour of Ser Thea’s parents and everyone else who was lost that day.”
“And where will you be during this contest, Your Grace?”
“I intend on viewing the tasting, of course” she stated plainly before turning to Sandor “spread the word amongst the people of King’s Landing,” she then turned to Brienne “I know the streets are long, but only two from each street are to be presented, chosen by their neighbours and the people they live on the street with. Everyone is welcome to come see the contest take place and be there when the rewards are given out. Any who does not have a roof over their head or food in their bellies shall have it.”
“And… this is all supposed to be done in one day, Your Grace?”
“No. I’m thinking that the tournament will take place the week before, those things are always unnecessarily long,” she muttered the last part with a small scoff “so it’ll end just in time for the contest, which will take place on the actual day of my name-day” she stated casually and proudly, looking between them “any further questions?”
“How in the Seven Hells did somethin’ like that come into your head?” Bronn asked bluntly, the others looking at him like he’d gone mad for speaking to her like that but Rhaella just shrugged, putting her hands on the table, folded neatly, as she sat straighter in her seat “the common people will always need and want food, they will always want money. This competition can give them both, hopefully in a peaceful way… I don’t want my name-day to be all about me… this is my wish” she stated confidently before giving them all a small smile “so, no further questions? Good. I trust you all to know your tasks. If you think of any questions later on, feel free to find me at any time and ask. Lord Tyrion, I’d like to speak with you, the rest of you are dismissed, thank you for your attention” she declared confidently, the others getting up, bowing and leaving, leaving only Lord Tyrion and Rhaella in the room.
“What did you want to discuss, Your Grace?”
“My marital status” she blurted out, fingers wringed between one another as she fiddled nervously, avoiding his gaze as Tyrion frowned at her with confusion. “Falia, my handmaiden, had a conversation with me, not too long ago…” she muttered, clearing her throat as she tried to get comfortable with this subject “she pointed out a few things…”
“Such as…?”
“That marriage could be-... f-fun… maybe… but all I’m feeling is that I’m not getting any younger!”
“Your Grace, you’re not even twenty-”
“No, but I will be in three months time…” she muttered bitterly, continuing to nervously fiddle with her hands “I-... I don’t want to marry anyone, Lord Tyrion… my mother didn’t, yet she was married off to Khal Drogo… she wanted to marry Daario, but didn’t… and then she wanted to marry Jon, and she did… I-... I suppose-... I don’t want to marry but all it seems anyone ever thinks of is marriage” she admitted shakily, looking up at Tyrion with a few tears in her eyes that she clearly tried to keep from spilling over and Tyrion was quickly reminded of her young age. Only nine-and-ten. She was turning twenty in just three months. “Your Grace, I-... no one can force you to marry-”
“Everyone can, all they have to do is apply the right kind of pressure the right kind of place” she muttered to herself before sighing, shutting her eyes tightly before opening them to look at him through her tears “please, don’t make me wed someone I don’t love…” she whispered, pleading, begging him quietly but when she was met with silence, she got up and left the room in a hurry, Tyrion sighing heavily, closing his eyes as his brain raced.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The only thing lighting the way was the torch in her hands as Rhaella walked down the cold passageway, cells on either side, lining the far passageway as far as the eye could see, Ezzo walking behind her with a wary eye on the cells they passed. “Khaleesi-”
“Wait here” she ordered and gave him the torch, Ezzo sighing heavily but stayed reluctantly, watching Rhaella as she approached the next cell over, still being lit up by the faint light of the torch he was holding. “My Lady?” Rhaella called weakly, her heart racing and she nearly flinched when the woman raced towards her, gripping the iron bars of her cell, glaring at the young queen in front of her on the other side of the bars. The free one out of the two of them.
“My Lady” Rhaella greeted softly, the woman scoffing at her, spitting at her through the bars but Rhaella moved out of the way just in time, Ezzo about to approach when Rhaella held out her hand to him. “Lady Cersei” Rhaella spoke more confidently, watching the woman back up in her cell, she could hear her sitting down, back sliding against the wall. “What do you want, bitch?”
“To ask you a question…”
“And why should I answer you?”
“Because in exchange, I’ll tell you about your son” Rhaella spoke calmly, being met with silence until she heard the tattered woman get up and approach the bars. “What do you want?”
“You love your children… but you didn’t always have them… your marriage to the usurper, Robert Baratheon… what was it like?”
“Why do you care?!”
“Answer me truthfully or I’ll never tell you a single thing about your son, including his name” she hissed, Cersei becoming deadly quiet for a few more seconds. “I worshipped him… is that what you want to hear? I worshipped him, every girl in the Seven Kingdoms dreamed of him but he was mine by oath…”
“But you had him killed… why? Did he hit you?”
“My brother never would’ve let him…” “I heard-... rumours… rumours about you and-... your t-twin brother… that you-... love him like-... l-like a-... wife would… I-... how did you stay married to one man, while loving-... another? How did you wed a man you didn’t love?? You had children with your brother but… did you ever have any with King Robert?” she asked carefully with confusion, Cersei looking up at her through the bars and Rhaella glared at her, making Cersei scoff bitterly “I finished off Robert in other ways when he was drunk enough to stumble into my bed after he’d gotten bored of his whores” Cersei replied proudly and Rhaella nodded with a frown. “Your son’s name is Tobin… he’s Lord Tyrion’s ward and he’s at Casterly Rock, being tutored and taken well care of… last I saw him, he was riding a pony that Lord Tyrion had bought him for his tenth name-day… it was a white and brown spotted mare… he named it ‘Cersei’... after his mother” Rhaella admitted, watching Cersei’s lower lip tremble and she looked away to hide it, Rhaella sighing softly “he doesn’t know everything you’ve done, not yet… but he knows who you are, he knows who his father is… his real father… and he knows who his siblings are. Lord Tyrion has told him all about his kind sister, Myrcella, and his sweet brother, Tommen… and his-... kingly brother, Joffrey” Rhaella told softly before sighing “thank you for talking with me, Lady Cersei…” she stated before leaving, Ezzo following close behind her. “Why come down here? What did you ask her? What answers did you seek? Did you find them?” he asked rapidly, Rhaella sighing softly as she continued to walk. “No… I did not” she admitted as her only response as she kept walking, Ezzo right behind her.
OLLO!
I HAVE A SHIP FOR THEEEEE 💜
Grace x Gregor 👀👀
andoooorrrrr
Helena x Rex 👀👀👀👀
😘💜💜💜
Let me tell you sister Padawan, I've been chomping at the bits on this one.
Grace and Gregor ...this is gonna contain order 66
So Grace is in the hall of healing after permanently being pulled off the front lines. They meet when he gets sent to the Jedi House of healing for treatment after he gets blown up. Grace is stationed there and gets assigned to be his medic for a while. He gets brought in by his brothers who just want to have him checked out and they notice a few strange things they noticed when they rescued him and Plo was able to sign off on him being treated in the temple.
He's quiet at first, sitting in the temple in confusion, like he's not 100 percent sure where he is so Grace starts checking on him and announcing the time date and location when she does. She's there for his initial confusion about who he is, and the things he did when he didn't know who he was. She holds his hands when he cries as the memories slowly come back, she provides him with holo books from the archives and sneaks a few brothers in for visits on the better days.
Shes there when he cries when he can't stop laughing at inappropriate times. She walks him through it, soothing him and smiling and offering him a distraction when he wants it.
While Grace is taking care of him she doesn't realize he's noticed a few things about her. Her fellow healers avoid her or walk on egg shells around her. He notices that sometimes her eyes are a beautiful bright green and sometimes they have flecks of gold.
He's there on her harder days, he's especially sympathetic when he learns why she can't be on the front lines, about her almost fall and the loss of her men and the trust she lost in the force for too long. He starts trying to cheer her up more, practice jokes and a little bit of flirting on her as he gets better and recovers. He asks about her brother, and the men still alive and he tattoos, anything to get her talking.
Shes both Joyish and elated that he's recovering quickly.
Then order 66 happens.
His com rings and he answers it while getting dressed for the by habit - he has half a second to register it's some hooded man and then his body is acting without his control.
Because of his head damage his chip doesn't 100 active unlike his 501st brothers storming the temple. She comes running in, spurred by the sounds of screaming happening in the temple and he tackle her to the ground. They fight, her screaming at him and he's trying to fight it off. Tears are steaming down his face, and he's saying I'm sorry I'm sorry over and over again as he throws things at her and she tries fighting him off.
"run, run Cyar'ika, you have to run" he shouts while trying to stab her.
She does, she force pushed him and escapes, feeling her fellow Jedi dying around her, dodging clones she knows personally as they try and kill her. Her training bonds and her friendships bonds snapping one after each other.
She escapes, flying out as far as she is able to bribe someone to get her. She ends up on Ord mantels, there was an old Jedi contact there. But Cid is bitter and no longer In the business of helping Jedi. She'll hide Grace but there it.
So Grace hides, finds a job as a stocker at a grocery store, anything to keep her going. She burns her robes and sells her armor and hides her lightsaber in the walls of her apartment and tries keeping it together.
She misses the batch, she doesn't hear about the clones working of Cid and Cid doesn't tell them she there. They rescue Gregor, they rescue Hunter and reunite and call Rex all without ever running into Grace.
But Grace is running an errand for her boss to fetch some shipments when she hears a familiar laugh in the crowd. She stops and turns and there is Gregor standing with Rex and a bunch of clones she doesn't know and Echo and she stuck, staring and then Gregor spots her in the crowd.
"grace? Cyar'ika!!!! You're alive" and he goes to run towards her but when backs away, hands up and pulling a knife and eyeing the other clones who are closing in on her.
Echo is explaining who she is to some little blond girl and Rex is trying to make the crowd gathering to move on but she can't take her eyes off Gregor who is looking so serious but keeps giggling.
Gregor panicky explains that it was chips in their heads and they're all gone and they're safe and everything is okay. As he's talking he gets closer and just as he reaches her she collapses, everything just too much and he's there, catching her and telling her everything will be okay.
They cling to each other on the port surround by clones as she falls apart in her clones arms, confessing everything and he hugs her tight and returns her feelings.
And for a moment Grace feels like everything in the world will be alright.
Whelp that made me sad and my brain is already writing a tragic ending for them. That involves Grace getting killed rescuing clones after revealing herself to be a Jedi and it's one of the reasons Gregor goes off with Rex and Wolffe before dying himself.
Anyway
So on to Helena and Rex because I need some happiness in this post.
So Rex and Helena are not aware of each other for a good long while. She's never really met him and he's only heard the faintest rumors at 79 is this supposed spider being.
The Fives happens. Fives toes to 79- he finds kix, tells him to call Rex and then leaves. Rex shows up only...fives isn't where he said he'd meet them. The Couri guards come and investigate - they're acting strange In rex's book. His general eventually leaves to report five missing - confused and concerned about how this all goes wrong but Rex stays behind. Something tells him to stay behind. He's investigating around the area...and he finds the broken piece of a shield generator. He keeps looking, leaving the warehouse and the next thing he knows he's been plucked out of the sky.
He shouts and struggles, going to fighting the person, pulling a weapons on them only for a female voice to shout at him. "yo captain a Rex right? " He holds the... woman tight as she swings them through traffic, confused. "Fixes said look for blue with eye shapes and tally marks."
"you know Fives?"
Spider woman explains how she spotted fives acting suspicious, intercepted him before he could get to the warehouse, listen to the the story and is now trying to help him verify it's Truth . She also explains he threw up a bunch of times and is resting in a safe place. She lands them on a nearby roof, explains everything Fives told her and then shows him the chip.
Helena herself is wondering what is going on. She has spent the majority of the war avoiding the Jedi and their clones as much as possible. Yeah she worked with the Couri guards a lot but this is on a whole another level but Fives has seemed so sure of himself that she couldn't help but feel right helping him. So she does as he asks and kidnaps Rex.
Rex listens then takes out his com and starts messaging people and then the next thing Helena knows she's got the entire tourant company on the roof with her, with a list of questions. They all agree that a lot that is bad and they're going to investigate it together once Fives is better.
They investigate - which really involves a lot of braking in places and stealing files. Rex is hella conflicted and Suspicious but too many things are starting to add up. Helena is horrified by every bit they uncover and it takes months of on and off again work with Helena sometimes having to break in with a disguised fives and reporting to Rex on secret channels. She spends a lot of time communicating to Rex even though she could just have Fives do it. He's just....she likes talking to him fives could stop giving her those looks at anytime.
Eventually the find stuff, go to Cody who goes to Kenobi who goes to Anakin and the council blah blah Palps as sith, killed everyone is Saved.
Rex doesn't know what to do with his life now. He wants to stay and do what he knows except...he can't stop thinking about that lone superhero who helped them simply because she could. So while the Galaxy is cleaning itself back up he seems like a spider-woman. She's kind of hard to find at first but he really just starts following and stopping crime and eventually just runs into her. Which gives him a small reputation as a clone vigilante while doing it. Fox is not impressed . Spider-woman is also a little less than impressed till she watches him fight. Tells him she doesn't really need help but Rex is stubborn and really just needs something to do while the Galaxy falls apart and puts itself back together so he keeps following her and fighting crime and she eventually throws in the towel and starts showing him how she does it.
Helena thought she said goodbye to the clones, with everything out in the open now. She gives Fives back the secret com even though she doesn't want to and Doesn't really wait for Rex to say goodbye, he's got his men and his general. What does he need her for. Only...he keeps picking fights in alleyways with muggers and gang thugs and other lowlifes and then acting like he's doing it on purpose. And apparently he is...he was looking for her and now he wants to help her keep the city good and just by fighting back the darkness. She doesn't know what to do with the warm feeling in her chest when he tells her this so she brushes it away with a joke and tells him he better keep up.
They do this for a long while, fighting off crime together, chasing run away criminals, and sitting on roof tops and eating lunch together, talking. The rest of the clones who are building lives are confused but happy and all of toursnt company likes Spider-woman ,and are teasing their captain about his fired/crush. Rex protests the crush thing. None of them are buying it. But Rex goes out almost every night on patrol and fights crime with his superhero.
Even Anakin and Ahsoka get in on the action of teasing when everything starts Winding down though Anakin really wants to meet the woman with spider powers. Rex is just barely keeping them apart because he knows somehow chaos will happen if they meet.
Thorn is teasing Helena about her crush on rex over the police radio with Fox interjecting that this is all illegal and to kindly please stop wasting their funds. They're getting paid now and it still isn't enough. It is- Fox is just a clone representing now and is extra stressed.
It all comes to a head for them when they're fighting this man on a hangglider surfer board and he's throwing bombs and Rex is wondering where his life went wrong when he gets a little blown up. Helena is freaking out, capturing him, finishing off the bad guy with extreme prejudice and then squirreling away Rex from prying eyes. She treats his injuries, crying the whole time and begging him not to leave her. He's the best thing to happen to her since the bite and he makes life worth living and reminds her there is good in the world. He opens her eyes to see her hovering over him crying and her mask is off and she's rubbing her face and he reaches up and catches a tear.
"what's my best girl crying for?" He rasps at her and blinks at him. She calls him names and hits him and tells him never to do them to her again. Rex just smirks, raises a brow and tells her she's got really pretty eyes. When she glares at him he smiles bigger and tells her she's the best thing to happen to him too. And that he'd really like to get to know her under the mask just as much as he knows her with it. ...if she'd give him the chance to.
She scoffs at him, rubbing her eyes and treads but tells him her name is Helena Hemlock and she's so happy to meet him.
And rex just says "Nice to meet you to Helena" and then kisses her.
...the other clones are all very confused about where Rexs new girlfriend came from. He's just started hanging out with this random engineer from the GAR and is holding hands with her and getting coffee and laughing at inside jokes . Fives whole ass demands him what happened to spider-woman...did it not work out, did she rejects you Vod? Jesse scoffs and asks if Rex is just emotionally stunted and doesn't know the spider-woman liked him back.he doesn't need to go on blind dates.
And Helenas doesn't know if she should be confused or amused. Kix thinks they're all idiots and stares at them all till one by one they all put it together. Rex is embarrassed and tells them all to kriff off.
It takes Anakin and embracing long time to out it together but he's distracted by babies so he's forgiven.
Helena is kissing her secrets identity good bye as it seems like rex is going to single handedly bow it up.
Rex, several months into them dating brings Rex down to the lower levels and introduces him to her Aunt, she had explained that this woman was her second mom and her only family left. So Rex knew this was important and wanted it to go well.
Maria loved him immediately and thought of him as a fine handsome boy. She thought his duel blastrdnwere beewt
Cartoon Series Pt. 5 | Gregor and the Code of Claw Pt. 1
Here is part 5 in my cartoon/Phineas and Ferb style wallpapers of every TUC quest series ... except hold up, since when is there a quest in CoC? And why is it called CoC Pt. 1?
... Since A Henry Story, actually.
Yes, this is another original quest, exclusive to AHS. In the AHS universe, CoC has like 800% more plot than Collins' CoC. It takes up Part 2 and 3 of AHS 3 (while MoS takes up only Part 1), and so I have decided to do two wallpapers for it, as it's now warranted by the length of this story (for details, see below.)
Because it is original and most of you will have never read it, let me tell you a few core details about this quest and some changes that I've made to CoC in general (spoiling as little as possible):
The first change that I've made to this part of TUC is quite simple: For reasons that I shan't spoil, Luxa and Howard go back to Regalia with Gregor after MoS (not for long though.) And so, the purpose of this quest becomes clear—not long after this return, they all depart yet again to rally potential allies for the war.
Okay, but why do they all look like they suddenly hate each other when the last (MoS) wallpaper was so wholesome? Because war and prophesied deaths aren't enough. We're adding some interpersonal drama on top of that, along with a "mending and repairing relationships and old wounds" storyline. That's all I shall say for now :)
This quest is not particularly long, actually. Although the time passed during the events of CoC has been extended and some of the events rearranged to fit a slightly altered timeline, it only takes up about 2/3 of Part 2.
To give you a rough overview: This quest begins around when Gregor sneaks away to battle in the Firelands in the original CoC (which does not happen in that way), and their return coincides with that first challenge battle (now spanning around a week.) After that, we're following a dual POV (half of the questers remain outside of Regalia with Henry and half inside with Gregor.)
Now you're curious for some more info about the changes to CoC and how this is supposed to work, timeline-wise? I can give you some pointers:
Gregor reads the Prophecy of Time and fetches Sandwich's sword in between the MoS quest and this quest (as you can see, he already has the sword here.)
Gregor isn't in Regalia when the challenge battle starts so Lizzie arrives in Regalia shortly after he returns. Only for the battle after that does he meet Miravet and receive his armor.
The entire diggers plotline has been cut. It made no sense why they would suddenly join this war and overall didn't really fit in general, so they do not appear. The reveal about Sandwich and his war crime against them still happens, but differently.
There is a second main villain—a human—whose identity I won't give away :) Let's just say "When a secret plot is hatching" actually has a meaning now. And there is also much more emphasis on the in-species resistance against the Bane among the gnawers.
After the genocide, only around 30 nibblers are remaining alive. I have no idea why or how Collins thought it was believable that there still were hundreds of them.
Some more key phrases to pique your curiosity:
The truth of Prophecies is not related to the Prophet's moral alignment, and even that may not be as it seemed
It is easier to cling to hope and not despair if you have a working support system and a found family
The marks of secret make an unexpected reappearance
Belonging and family may be found in the darkest hour, not lost
Secret meetings and conspiracies
Recalling that you have choices and agency and that nothing can truly take those away from you is crucial
A knight embodying numbness may be haunting instead of comforting when you wish to cling to your kindness and hope
War is never just, but what follows afterward may be
***
Now, with that in mind, let's look at the art again ... I should probably introduce the characters you won't know yet:
(r.t.l) Hera (a flier they meet during TUC 3.5—more in that wallpaper), (ground) Luxa & Aurora, Ripred, (hanging) Ares, Howard, Gregor (ft. Sandwich's sword), [redacted gnawer name], (hanging) Thanatos & Nike, Henry.
Anyway, if that sounds interesting to you, go read "A Henry Story" 👉 I promise it is very cool, even if you somehow liked CoC, I am confident that you'll enjoy my version (I say this like AHS 3 is done ... I actually do not recommend reading AHS 3 rn, it is currently being massively overhauled and the ending is not done.) I have a post up on my tumblr where I link the first two books though, but you can also find them on Wattpad, Ao3, and Quotev (my favorite<3) as well by simply browsing.
And check out the rest of this art series (on my tumblr feed)! I plan on doing all the quests.
Disclaimer: the bg is a stock image; the rest is drawn by me!
10 minute sprint - Book
It wasn’t so much a book as a tome. Sitting smugly on a carved wooden stand that, even with a pedestal thicker around than Gregor’s thigh, seemed to stagger under the weight of the paper, ink, and ornamented leather surmounting it. Jin looked it over, arms crossed, attitude unimpressed. “That’s what he sent us to fetch? Is he delusional or just ignorant?” Gregor was supposedly the leader of…
Day 7!
Older Gregor. College Gregor. Gregor training to be a social worker so he can help people in impossible situations without having to fight anyone. Pacifist Gregor who is trying not to get into fights but somehow ended up with a black eye anyway. Future Gregor.
Thought it was about time to write some of my headcanons about what happened after the series because I wanted to know more!
Gregor is still The Warrior, but he’s trying to do it a different way. No more wars, no more fighting, no more sides, no more death. Is he bored out of his mind with school and people who just don’t get it? Yes. But that’s why he’s studying so he can help people who went through what he did, kids in wars overseas who make rules with themselves about imaging after, or tell themselves thar this is their last day to live just so they can get up in the morning. Kids who deny themselves hope, because, what’s the point?
Anyway, I loved this week. Can’t believe I didn’t find these books sooner!
Future EGO predictions - ZAYIN
Thinking about future EGO possibilities is fun + there are so much old lobcorp abnormalities that would be cool adapted in Limbus. I will try to associate each Lobcorp abnormality to one or a few sinners that would make sense. Starting from the ZAYIN risk level!
- One Sin and Hundreds of Good Deeds: the og good boy. Associated with difference between good and evil, judgement and atonement. The two sinners that resonate the more with these are Sinclair (tension between world of light and world of evil) and Meursault (being judged, see also Pursuance EGO).
- Plague Doctor: guy who has god syndrome. I feel that Faust is a very good fit for him. Pretty curious as to how they will implement him and his divine persona (noticed there are 13 sinners counting Dante?)
- Don’t Touch Me: impulse control - the abnormality. This screams Rodyon, but also not sure what its EGO would look like.
- Opened Can of Wellcheers: this is a tough one. Not really sure what its supposed to be about. You could tie it to impulse control again (”yeah soda is cool but don’t drink the opened can”). You could also spin it along the theme of trust, and associate it to Hong Lu and Ishmael (bonus for nautical theme!).
- You’re Bald...: this is a joke abnormality I think? The lore is about some kind of idealization of baldness so Yi Sang maybe?? Gregor could fit with the whole appearance change thing too. Seems pretty far fetched. I would honestly give it to someone it would be funny to see bald so Hong Lu or Don Quichotte. But hitman Gregor also sounds cool..
- Mirror of Adjustment: strongly tied with the themes of transience of being and change. Gregor is a good fit.
- Fairy Festival: being used by someone to fulfill their needs. Outis comes to my mind with the whole duplicity thing.
- We Can Change Anything: gore for fun and profit. Ryoshu.
- You Must be Happy: Meursault got a variant of this one already, so I’m not sure if we will see it. Otherwise it’s Yi Sang material.
- Old Faith and Promise: faith, betrayal and trust. Ishmael or Heathcliff maybe? Hong Lu could also fit the trust aspect or Rodyon for the rng fest this abnormality is.
- Army in Pink: Don Quichotte is perfect here (pious vow to defend). Depending of your interpretation of the abnormality true purpose Outis is also decent.
I’m sure we are bound to see some of them, probably with interesting twists like PM did with You Must Be Happy that will radically change the predictions.
If you want to read it here's the post! That post is mostly just a funny thought experiment, just a few scenarios for a laugh. The ways I really think they'd screw it up are as follows:
The Underland is a secret and 30% of the movie's runtime is devoted to investigators trying to figure it out and the family trying to keep it hidden
WAAAAAY too much story set in the overland. It is cheaper to film there, of course
The bats don't talk, neither do the rats. They're like the dragons in How to Train Your Dragon, bouncing between "Rational Actor who has goals and opinions" and "Dog who wants to play fetch" depending on the tone of the scene. The humans get to name them, and when Gregor eventually gets his own OC bat he'll name it something stupid, maybe like "Bugs Bunny" because of Warner brothers cross promotion.
Bonding is something you have to EARN through elaborate rite of passage rituals, then a bat is given to you. There is no mutual element to it.
Gregor has a series of magical powers beyond being a rager (and you KNOW it's gotta show up in the first movie, why save that for the second one that will never get made because the first one bombed?). Give him a magical box that only super divergents can open, let him echo-locate from the start, make him the specialist boy on a cosmic level rather than just an unfortunate kid that a bunch of cultists thrust into the role
The underland has electricity and/or fantasy magic glowing crystals. Gotta light these scenes somehow
Sandwich is ALIVE and the VILLAIN
Gorger and Ripred are the SAME character. Why have two imposing rats, just have ripred be the villain from the start who survives the final encounter and then goes on to be redeemed in the later movies (that never come out because the first one bombs)
Diggers show up in the first movie because we have no fucking patience
Nibblers remain done dirty and only show up like five minutes before being genocided... oh yeah, Nibbler genocide happens in the first movie because we have no fucking patience.
Gregor's dad is a big hollywood actor who they spent good money on so they're going to give us lots of flashbacks and pace breaking green screened in re-shoots of him so they can get their money's worth. At the end of the movie when they find him in the pit he looks fine. Full stage makeup and hair done well. Gotta have pretty people
No cockroaches because eww icky. The whole "princess" thing is given to the bats and is used as the explaination for bonding. Thalia wants to be Boots' bond and then dies in the first movie because we have no fucking patience!!
Solovet is portrayed as completely heroic, Vikus is like 45 at the oldest. Will this make her twist villainy hit harder later on? Who knows? The first one bombed so we'll never find out.
The rats have some sort of accent that makes them sound "foreign" and "Exotic" and it leads to a lot of discourse because it plays off of stereotypes. People cancel Suzanne Collins on Twitter even though she didn't make that creative choice. They speak in broken English to make them sound lower and stupid and wouldn't you know it their teeth are crooked and spiky too!
Gregor has an Iphone and it gets used in a lot of hilarious and wacky ways. Cute scene of everyone taking selfies happens in the first movie rather than later because we have no fucking patience
Gregor is older now, the movie tells us he's 17 but he's played by a 21 year old actor (if it's animated we can get away with up to 40 years old), and there's a love triangle between him, Luxa, and Dulcet... in the first movie because we HAVE NO FUCKING PATIENCE!
There is some magical macguffin that the rats want for the first movie, and the quest is about either getting it before them or stopping them from stealing it from Regalia so there can be a climactic third act clash between two armies
Hamnet shows up in the first movie because we HAVE NO FUCKING PATIENCE!
The ONE pg 13 fuck is used at a really stupid time
ARES DIES IN THE FIRST MOVIE BECAUSE WE HAVE NO FUCKING PATIENCE
Yeah so there are some of the things I think Hollywood would screw up. But that's just the like surface level stuff. I do not trust them to get the more deep symbolism and themes right at all. Now, assuming the first movie doesn't bomb and they make more what further stuff can they mess up?
The curse of the warmbloods makes everyone zombies, rather than being the bubonic plague. The questers only go to the jungle in the last act because the first two are taken up with killing hoards of zombies with swords. There really isn't any time for the whole "Gregor save's Lapblood's life and cares for her at the lowest point of her life when she's fully given up on herself" because we had to see a bunch of boling oil be poured on zombie rats. Nike also gets zombified and dies to show the stakes. At the end the starshade just works as a cure.
Marks of secret just has a fucking baffling plot constructed mostly out of whole cloth because A: they don't want to show a genocide on screen and B: they already cannibalized all the plot points to squeeze into the first movie so they have to invent new stuff to go here
Twirltongue isn't in the series. The bane is just like that. He was born evil, you see, it's in his genes.
By movie three there is going to be an Ares and Aurora romance and you know for a fact they'll make Aurora pink and small to contrast with big and black Ares... assuming that he wasn't killed off earlier. In the event that he was killed off they'll give Gregor an OC bond who can be shipped with Aurora.
The humans and the rats living in harmony at the end will be completely un-earned. The rats will just get beaten into submission and accept that. Once the biggest baddest rat is killed things will instantly get better and there's no need for Ripred to do that peacmaker stuff. Movie's long enough as it is, it would hurt the pacing. Just cut to the bane's corpse and Gregor waking up in the hospital and the rats living peacefully in regalia. It's all fine! It's good! Don't worry! Also his bat is alive there's just a fakeout. He wakes up with the claw in his hand but it's good he lived through it and now has a cool prosthetic. Happy ending 🥰💞✨
Gregor's dad shows up for the final battle with an M-16 and shoots a bunch of rats. You can't put guns in a kid's book but you CAN in a kid's movie!
Shrimp in Cream Sauce cross promotional meal available at like red lobster or outback steakhouse or some shit (Oh we can reuse the "Gregor in down-underland" concept again... hold on this has legs)
Mrs. Cormaci just isn't in any of these. The name is mentioned offhandedly by Gregor's mom in one of the scenes but no actress is cast and she gets no lines or screen time. Just a funny little easter egg :)
The snakes in the jungle get a musical number, and are implied to be in cahoots with the rats
Ripred actually dies in the later movies to raise the stakes. Gotta show the Bane isn't fucking around by having him kill off a beloved character in front of us.
That scene where Hazard saves everyone from the scorpions by trying to talk things out rather than just fight? Movie's too long, cut it. Not important anyway.
That scene where everyone gets caught in the currents and Gregor has to save his bat and be there for him and just talk him through a stressful and traumatic experience? Cut it, this movie's too long anyways (Also how the fuck does he get his legs around Ares' wings this guy is big enough to carry three people and one whole-ass Ripred??? Maybe this scene is cut because the mechanics of it just don't make sense in a visual medium)
There's just the worst novelty plastic popcorn bucket for sale to go along with this
One of the actors gets embroiled in a controversy and gets recast between movies
The over all message is some bullshit about "Loyalty" and "Heroism" and "Embracing your destiny". It's a story about Gregor rising to the occasion and becoming the ratslayer 9000 to save the Underland from all the rats. War is bad but sometimes you just have to rid the world of the undesirables for the sake of the god-chosen theocratic ethnostate, y'know?
Okay, now with all the horrible things out of the way here are some things that I don't think will happen but I do think would be funny.
Photos-Glow-Glow and Zap are both played by male actors and they're implied to be roomates
We get queerbaited with Pandora and Twitchtip. The director dienies that being intentional despite them making eyes at eachother and having so much chemistry on the boat ride. It totally undermines Twitchtip's arc but you know... fans can have fun with it. I guess that makes Pandora's death bury your gays.
There's a random character added who was not in the books but people on tumblr go NUTS for him because he's skinny and kind of pathetic
They pronounce Vikus in just the stupidest way. "This is my grandfather Vick-us"
There's just the funniest most blatant product placement in the overland. Gregor walks past like seven Pepsi billboards and his mom uses idk a microsoft surface or some shit. Gregor looks up "Giant Rat" on Bing
They make a phone game to tie into it and it's not actually half bad but gets taken off line in eighteen months
On the one hand:
Where is my Underland Chronicles Series Hollywood?????
But on the other hand:
Oh God, this series has nuance, don't you dare fucking touch it!!!
NUMBER OF CHAPTERS/ONE SHOT: One shot
WHICH TOM CHARACTER: Actor Tom
PAIRING: Tom Hiddleston/Reader
GENRE: Fluff, Romance
REQUEST
WARNINGS: Age difference, spoiler of Franz Kafka's The Metamorphosis
TAGLIST: @waddlenut @sleutherclaw @twhiddlestonsstuff
Just a Number
Twice your age. Tom was nearly twice your age. Old enough to be your father. You grimaced slightly at the thought as you sat down next to him on the couch after fetching a wine bottle and two wine glasses from the kitchen. Tom smiled at you as you poured him the dark red liquid. You usually prefered white wine, but wanted to show him that you had learnt to appreciate the more bitter tasting red wine as well. You felt a bit silly as you thought about it; that for some reason, you wanted to give him the impression that you were mature for your age. You were twenty-one years old, whereas Tom had just turned forty-one. The two of you had met through mutual friends and taken a liking to each other. You had since your first evening together, texted each other on a daily basis just to check in on each other. Your friendship was pretty sweet and innocent, but you always sensed that it could develop into something more than a friendship.
If it had not been for the age difference between you, you most likely would have made a move on him by now. But the years between you made you insecure. What if he thought you were too young for him?
"I read this book you recommended the other day," you told Tom before sipping your wine.
"Oh, which one?" Tom asked with great interest.
"The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka," you replied and he smiled widely at you. You blushed a little as you thought of the reason you had picked that particular book; it simply wasn't as thick as the other ones.
"What did you think about it?" Tom asked expectantly and put his glass down on the table after taking another sip from his wine.
"I thought it was really good, but it made me feel a bit bad for Gregor Samsa. His fate was very sad," you replied.
"I agree," Tom said.
"I thought it was a very interesting book, so I read a bit more about Franz Kafka and I drew parallels between his and Samsa's life. When he wrote the book, I think Kafka might have thought about the burden you can become on your family when you're not well enough to work and do your part. Kafka had periods when he was sick with tuberculosis. In the end, when he has finally died, his family feels relieved that they don't have to take care of and hide him anymore."
"That's an interesting observation," Tom commended and your cheeks grew warm.
"But then I read that he wrote the book in 1915 and was diagnosed with tuberculosis in 1917, so it probably wasn't like that," you added.
"I see, but the parallel is still very interesting," Tom insisted encouragingly. "It's like a premonition."
"It is," you agreed with a smile and had some more wine. You seriously doubted your own ability to analyse books and felt glad that Tom seemed to appreciate your attempt.
Lately, you hadn't read a lot of books because you lacked the concentration that was required of you. So you felt proud of yourself to manage to get through a whole book, even though it was only a short novel. Usually, you read short stories and sometimes novels online by people kind enough to share their works for free. You loved supporting those writers with feedback on their works, because they always seemed so grateful and encouraged by your words. It was a great feeling that you couldn’t really tell Tom about, seeing as most of the stories you read happened to be about him. You didn’t want to scare him off by revealing to him that you read fanfiction about him.
You and Tom had a pleasant evening together, like you always did in each other’s company. As it was getting late, you dreaded the moment he would leave and offered him a beer.
“It’s getting late,” Tom said, but accepted the bottle of beer from you.
“Perhaps you could stay the night?” you suggested hopefully. You held your breath as you awaited his response.
“If you don’t mind,” he replied with a smile.
“I don’t mind at all,” you assured him and your smile widened as he opened his beer, confirming that he would indeed stay the night.
You enjoyed yourselves as you kept talking to each other about all kinds of things, just getting to know each other better. It was nearly three in the morning when you decided to call it a night.
“I can sleep on the couch,” Tom told you and you shook your head at him smilingly.
“No, I want you to sleep in the bed. It’s big enough for the two of us,” you insisted.
“Are you sure?” Tom hesitated.
“I am,” you said and boldly brought him into a kiss. He deepened the kiss and you felt a thrill of excitement run through your body. You had sex and afterwards you curled up close to each other.
“I thought you thought I was too old for you,” Tom revealed as you snuggled with him.
“And I thought you thought I was too young for you,” you told him. Tom chuckled and brought you into a kiss.
“I guess it’s like what people say; age is just a number,” Tom told you and you smiled warmly at him. You felt so relieved that you had finally dared to take the step of initiating a relationship with him.
Hey, asoiaf fandom, quick question here but am I the only one who gets deeply uncomfortable by the tone of the discussions surrounding Arya and her relationship with traditional gender roles/feminity? Not only because of the wrong assumptions a lot of people have about Arya looking down on traditional feminine activities like sewing, which she most definitely doesn’t, but also because there’s very glaring inherent classism in those claims.
Not only has Arya (that is, book Arya) never looked down on other women or the work that historically has been associated with them, but she has also partaked in said work herself.
Several times, in fact, and across numerous of her POV chapters:
Whatever names Harren the Black had meant to give his towers were long forgotten. (...) Arya slept in a shallow niche in the cavernous vaults beneath the Wailing Tower, on a bed of straw. She had water to wash in whenever she liked, a chunk of soap. The work was hard, but no harder than walking miles every day. Weasel did not need to find worms and bugs to eat, as Arry had; there was bread every day, and barley stews with bits of carrot and turnip, and once a fortnight even a bite of meat.—aCoK, Arya VII.
Weese used Arya to run messages, draw water, and fetch food, and sometimes to serve at table in the Barracks Hall above the armory, where the men-at-arms took their meals. But most of her work was cleaning. The ground floor of the Wailing Tower was given over to storerooms and granaries, and two floors above housed part of the garrison, but the upper stories had not been occupied for eighty years. Now Lord Tywin had commanded that they be made fit for habitation again. There were floors to be scrubbed, grime to be washed off windows, broken chairs and rotted beds to be carried off. The topmost story was infested with nests of the huge black bats that House Whent had used for its sigil, and there were rats in the cellars as well . . . and ghosts, some said, the spirits of Harren the Black and his sons.—aCoK, Arya VII.
"I saw you looking at me." Weese wiped his fingers on the front of her shift. Then he grabbed her throat with one hand and slapped her with the other. "What did I tell you?" He slapped her again, backhand. "Keep those eyes to yourself, or next time I'll spoon one out and feed it to my bitch." A shove sent her stumbling to the floor. Her hem caught on a loose nail in the splintered wooden bench and ripped as she fell. "You'll mend that before you sleep," Weese announced as he pulled the last bit of meat off the capon. When he was finished he sucked his fingers noisily, and threw the bones to his ugly spotted dog.
"Weese," Arya whispered that night as she bent over the tear in her shift. "Dunsen, Polliver, Raff the Sweetling," she said, calling a name every time she pushed the bone needle through the undyed wool. "The Tickler and the Hound. Ser Gregor, Ser Amory, Ser Ilyn, Ser Meryn, King Joffrey, Queen Cersei."—aCoK, Arya VII.
This last quote is interesting, because given Arya’s circumstances in which she has to hide her own identity, she’s not warranted the protection a high-born lady would usually receive, and her punishments are often not only related to physical abuse, but through forced labor as well.
She spent the next few hours tending to the lord's chambers. She swept out the old rushes and scattered fresh sweet-smelling ones, laid a fresh fire in the hearth, changed the linens and fluffed the featherbed, emptied the chamber pots down the privy shaft and scrubbed them out, carried an armload of soiled clothing to the washerwomen, and brought up a bowl of crisp autumn pears from the kitchen. When she was done with the bedchamber, she went down half a flight of stairs to do the same in the great solar, a spare drafty room as large as the halls of many a smaller castle. The candles were down to stubs, so Arya changed them out.
(...)
The afternoon was still young by the time she was done, so Arya took herself off to the godswood.—aCoK, Arya VX.
She got along well enough with the cook. Umma would slap a knife into her hand and point at an onion, and Arya would chop it. Umma would shove her toward a mound of dough, and Arya would knead it until the cook said stop (stop was the first Braavosi word she learned). Umma would hand her a fish, and Arya would bone it and fillet it and roll it in the nuts the cook was crushing. (..) Some nights Umma spiced the fish with sea salt and cracked peppercorns, or cooked the eels with chopped garlic. Once in a great while the cook would even use some saffron. Hot Pie would have liked it here, Arya thought.—aFoC, Arya II.
She had other tasks besides helping Umma. She swept the temple floors; she served and poured at meals; she sorted piles of dead men's clothing, emptied their purses, and counted out stacks of queer coins.—aFoC, Arya II.
And the reason this—hugely important, imo—part of her narrative is so often ignored by fandom discourse is very obvious to me. It is because unlike the activities traditionally performed by upper-class, rich women, which are very frequently glorified by fans (alongside other aspects of the feudalist system that honestly would take way too much time and effort to unpack, but I digress), lower class feminity is simply not as pretty, the hard labor these women would be subjected to is not aesthetically pleasing. Don’t get me wrong, they were abused by the patriarchy the same way upper-class women were, but their suffering was never romanticized or immortalized in a song, their victimhood wouldn’t be cause for outrage, and more often than not, their work and existence would be completely erased.
Arya’s feminity doesn’t cease to exist just because she has to do hard work associated with lower-class women, or because she expresses interests that differ from what is usually expected of rich women. Her experiences as a girl, being exposed to all kinds of abuse perpetrated by men can’t be simply swept under the rug. A great deal of her journey is related to how much the plight of the lower classes matters, that children like Mycah, like Layna, like Gendry and Lommy and Hot Pie and Jeyne Poole, they all matter. And yes, sometimes Arya’s Stark name has given her protection, but other times, the majority of the time, she’s not been in a position in which she can use it as shield, and she’s had to work with her hands and fight for her life and has seen and done horrible things, or else the only other option for her was to end dead on a ditch, like countless other women and children the world has deemed too unimportant to mourn.
In Dreams [9/?]
Pairing: SanSan Rating: T Summary: She leaves after thanking the septon feeling quite unhappy. Words: 1128 Notes: A little bit of filler, but things will ramp up soon!
Read @ AO3
Sansa’s first thing after food and Roslyn, is to return to the library.
They should have death records, right? But she has no idea where to look, so she heads straight for the librarian. “Excuse me,” she speaks softly.
The librarian turns to look at her, she has a round, friendly face. “Yes?”
“I was wondering if you could help me, I’m trying to find a death certificate or grave. But I have no idea where to look.”
“Ah, those records are on film. Give me a moment and I will retrieve them for you, do you have a surname?”
“Clegane, please.”
“Very well, C, I’ll go fetch them.”
“Thank you.”
She waits for no more than ten minutes, the librarian comes back with a small firm. “Here you go, miss.”
“Thank you again.” She says and heads to look for Sandor’s information. One by one, she watches as death certificates go on and on. She finds Gregor’s, but not Sandor’s. She frowns, goes over the records two times over just to make sure. But there is nothing about Sandor. She sighs, pulls the film and returns to the front desk for more help. “I’m sorry again, I could not find whom I was looking for. Do you have any idea where else I could look?”
The librarian thinks for a moment, “Perhaps the Sept? They should have records there.”
She nods, “Thank you again.” She grabs her purse and makes her way to the Sept of Baelor. And after some chit chat with the septon, she manages to get the records that she is looking for. The book is big and very old. Once more, she starts looking page for page slowly, she does not wish to miss it. It’s a good thing she has as much information as she does, that helps her narrow down the year.
But once more, she comes empty handed, not even Gregor’s information is in the book. Because this time is due to a page is missing. The book looks intact, but she knows that people can be very sneaky and could have easily rip the page well.
She leaves after thanking the septon feeling quite unhappy.
After picking Lady, she goes home. Once there, she speaks up, “Sandor, I have some good news. I found your sister. All I’m saying right now is, that she had a good life. The rest if you don’t mind, I will tell you once I fall asleep. Is that rude? I’m sorry, I’m just so excited to tell you the news, but at the same time, I’m a bit frustrated. Why? Because I was trying to find where you were buried, but I could not find a thing!
“I found Gregor’s death certificate, but nothing about you or your grave! It’s insane, everything is fine, but you might as well be a ghost. Sorry.”
She made her way to her kitchen, while she did not feel the need to eat at the moment, she wanted her hands to be busy with something, so baking it was. She began to gather the things she would need to make some chocolate cupcakes. “You know Sandor, all I was able to find was that someone by the name of Qyburn tended to your wounds. Did you know him well?
“I read in the journal of the maid who worked here, that Lady Brienne was quite upset at your death. But as I said, I cannot find anything as to where you’re buried! Hell, not even Gregor’s place.” She moved almost automatically, measuring things and prepping the molds. “I don’t know why! It’s like someone is trying to keep your resting place a secret, but I will find out.
“I’m not someone who gives up easily.” She smiled. “It’s something I share with my sister, you know? Our old nanny used to say that I could be as strong headed as Arya on certain things. But it’s not a bad thing right? It’s not like Arya and I have been this way about, say, alcohol or drugs. Arya is very much outspoken and I love her for that.” Putting the batter into the molds, she made her way to the oven. “There have been times when I have not been able to be as outspoken as her, but she makes me brave when I need to.”
She set the timer for the cupcakes and went to sit down. She was about to speak, when her phone vibrated. It was Roslyn.
The text said, ‘Sansa, found something that you should read. Sent to your email.’
She does not run, but it’s a near thing, to her computer. There, she pulls her email and immediately clicks open Roslyn and, her way hits the floor. There, in front of her, is the page missing from the Sept on deaths and burials. She scans it quickly and finds Gregor first, he was cremated and his ashes were sent back to Clegane Keep. Her heart pounds as she reads the information on Sandor. He was not sent back, instead, Lord Jaime had chosen to deal with his body. That is when she knows, when she realizes that there is only one place where Jaime Lannister could have placed Sandor in.
Sandor is buried here.
“Oh my God!” She exclaims. “Sandor, I think you’re buried here!” Quickly, she reads Roslyn’s email. It simply read, ‘Sansa, I found this while looking into our records. My father had this for some reason, and I remembered that you told me about the Ghost named Sandor. Sorry I could not be of more help.’
She responds, ‘Roslyn, you just helped me so much. I owe you.’
Once that she has calmed down, she immediately texts Arya. ‘I think Sandor is buried on house grounds.’
Arya doesn’t text back, she calls. “What the fuck, Sansa?”
“I’ve been looking, and all I could find was that Jaime Lannister took care of the body, and there is no grave, no death certificate. Nothing Arya, what else could it be?”
A beat of silence. “Holy shit Sansa. If that’s true…”
“Then, I have to find him. He has to be somewhere in here.” She looks out the window, it is far too late to run off to find him. “I cannot leave his grave unmarked, you know? It’s not fair.”
“No it isn’t. I’ll be there tomorrow and I’ll bring Gendry and Sam with me!”
She smiles, the Gods bless her sister. “Thank you, I’ll need all the help that I can get.”
“No worries, I’m quite excited myself! This is way too much like a movie to be missed!”
“Thank Arya, see you tomorrow.”
“Don’t do anything stupid, okay? Wait until we get there!”
“I will.”
She is ready for this.
