Riverdale Roundup: 2x18 “ A Night To Remember”

Okay so I love musicals, but full disclosure i’ve never seen Carrie the musical, i’ve never seen Carrie. I like to sleep at night so I haven’t read any Stephen King novels. I never saw the original movie and the remake starred Chloe Grace Moretz and she’s just not my cup of tea. She couldn’t hold onto Brooklyn Beckham or my attention. I know the basics. They dump blood on the girl at prom and she burns down the school with her super natural powers. I read the wikipedia page on the movie so I am never well informed.

I appreciate all the singing right off the bat.  The whole fake documentary style isn’t exactly my vibe. I get it. They needed to keep Jughead involved. Cole Sprouse doesn’t like to sing or dance because Disney Channel probably trapped him in a room somewhere and tried to get him to record songs with names like “ Dance it Out” or “ Get that Girl”.

There is tension going on all over the place. Tension between Betty and Veronica, Archie and Jughead, Cheryl and Joise, Betty and her Mom.  Chuck and everyone.  Chuck just wants to show off his dance moves and prove that he’s no longer a fuck boy. He’s changed!

Jughead is like “ wtf Archie are you flirting with my gf while i’m like right here?” but Archie just wants Betty to be nice to Veronica. Betty doesn’t associate with liars even though she lies like all the time and she’s real good at it.

Okay so Cheryl almost got hit by a sandbag and then Kevin got a letter from the black hood being like “ Cut Cheryl from the show or like ima get you”

Alright so who sent this? Could it be Josie getting back at Cheryl for sending her a pigs heart? That seems like a stretch. Honestly it’s probs the real black hood. He’s not dead. He’s hiding in a cave somewhere plotting his time.

Archie has to keep the car his sugar daddy gave him at his girlfriends house so that his real daddy doesn’t know that he’s been bought.

Betty and Jughead who have been thirsting for a good mystery since no one has been murdered in the past three weeks are ready to dive into figuring out who sent this letter.

They target Ethel first because she was “ born to play Carrie” and Ethel gets uber defensive and is like “ i’m not violent! I would never hurt anyone for my own gain!” despite the fact that she straight up covered Veronica in a strawberry milkshake maybe three days ago. I mean she didn’t punch her in the face but that wasn’t exactly a solve your problems with words type of reaction.

There is MAD tension between FP and Alice. FP is playing hard to get and Alice might have thought that was cute when they were 15 but she’s a grown ass lady now with an extensive wardrobe and she will not put up with this bullshit.

Cheryl and Josie sing a song about friendship and Josie forgives her for being a grade A psycho.

The Lodges are trying to bring down Freds campaign and they are clearly going to use Archie to do it. Hiram is going to skip on down to the Andrews house and be like “ Your son calls me Daddy now.”

The 70’s hair and outfits are pretty iconic.

Veronica sings about being a mean girl and Betty is finding the whole thing way too meta. Also casual  how this public high school allows for the choreography to include Veronica giving Chuck a very casual lapdance.

Betty calls Veronica out in front of everyone and Archie is like “ Betty you don’t get it. Veronica isn’t mean you’re mean.”

Archie and Betty sing their love ballad and Betty goes to apologize to Veronica. It turns into a love ballad between Betty and Veronica. The fangirls are going crazy. This is like their fanfiction come to life on the screen.  

Fred is building the sets but Hiram is the producer so really who’s the top dog? Fred plays it off like he isn’t pissed that Hiram bought Archie a car but in real life he’d like to take that drill and do some burr holes Izzie stevens style, sans anesthesia. Fred wanted to build a car with Archie. What is it with Riverdale that everyone builds cars with their dads?

Alice has issues with men. FP rejects her so she goes crawling to Chic who won’t return her calls. It’s yikes.

Kevin gets another letter about re casting Cheryl. Cheryl is like “It’s fine fam. I’m going to do it anyway. I’m a bad bitch. You can’t kill me.”

Penelope is like “ look bitch. I hate you. You aren’t doing the play.”

Cheryl needs to pull a Nathan Scott and get emancipated. She’s got money. Get Nana Rose and a lovely little apartment.

Ethel is so pumped that Cheryl is out of the show but Kevin pulls Midge out of his asshole and presents her as the understudy.

Cheryl and Toni share a moment talking about all the whack things that Cheryl did and yet it’s supposed to be like cute? Like wouldn’t it be a good thing that Cheryl is no longer the same person who burned down her house?

Life imitates art a little too much for Alice and she starts singing straight to Betty. Alice just wants to keep Betty close. Everybody else keeps dipping on her. Polly took her Kardashian named children and ran away to California, Hal is a total loser but he bailed too, Chic is gone but honestly Alice that isn’t a loss. Betty wants to help her mom and honestly I think she should get her a nice lap dog. That will keep her good company and it won’t run away to San Francisco.

Archie returns the car that Hiram got him because he can not be bought. He can only be rented.

Alice and Betty have opening night jitters so they can’t enjoy their lovely family meal.

Hal stops in with some superstore flowers in an attempt to woo his way back into the house. I told you to get her a puppy Betty! Not a person.

Alice makes Betty leave so she can talk to Hal and I thought that she was going to be like  “ I slept with FP” but instead she’s like Chic isn’t your son.  I mean if she doesn’t want to keep secrets she should tell Hal that someone died right where he’s sitting like a month earlier.

Archie got the world oldest car to fix up. Fred was on the verge of bankruptcy approx 4 days ago so in what world will they be able to afford all these rare parts?

Cheryl gets some blood from the butcher and goes full horror movie on her mother. She’s ready to burn down thistle house. Oh my god she just said she’s going to get emancipated. She listens to me. She takes my advice. She upped it and wants to keep the house. Honestly she deserves it. She and her nana can live out their lives without the extra weight.  I mean isn’t the house Nana Roses? Penelope got Thorne Hill right?

FP turns up to see the show to find that he’s too late and Alice has fallen back into the arms of her no good rotten husband.

Those sets that Fred built are lovely. The sets our schools shitty musical had general consisted on just some risers and projected pictures.

The patient was a teen supermodel who seduced her own father to get whatever she wanted,, house was super sure she had cancer and it turns out she did but it was testicular because she had xy chromosomes and was immune to testosterone - which was really fucking interesting...... Also cuddy played house like a violin and gave him placebo saline instead of a morphine shot to prove to him that his leg pain was psychological Ep14: House is stealing organs now. Ok so technically he did get the husband's permission to steal his newly dead wife’s heart for the dying old dude with a strangely young daughter but only after he kneed house in the balls super hard. House spent the whole ep goin on at wilson about the affair he thought he was having and at the end wilson showed up on houses doorstep but sURPRIse !! It was his wife who was sleeping around!! poor baby Wilson I know what goes around comes around but he's such a kicked puppy cmon Ep15: Wilson and house living together is a recipe for disaster and I'm living for it so good so many good interactions I love that house is gunna keep him for his food ((I'll never b over house hearing the voicemail about Wilson's new place, looking over at him sleeping on the couch and then deleting it so he has to stay)). The patient had a super cool marriage and didn't have lupus except whoops actually not a happy marriage his wife is tryna kill him thru gold poisoning. House needs to stop accosting ppl in bathrooms and should also stop destroying marriages Ep16: oh man good shit so,, first of all house n Wilson are still living together and there are some Domestic Antics happening right here including but not limited to a prank war which house desperately tried to get Wilson to participate in, the peak of which had house making Wilson wet the couch and Wilson sabotaging houses cane. The patients mum was ridiculously overprotective and house essentially kidnapped the patient to find the tick noone else thought was there,, surprisingly Wilson helped set that up despite the fact house was the reason he woke up wet that morning Ep17: first things first house could absolutely clean everyone out at poker if he knows Cuddy's tells that well through just a phonecall,, also he needs to stop calling Wilson out on his toenail varnish habits lmao. The patient was a smol boy who presented the same symptoms as an unsolved and dead case that house had 12 yrs ago so he really wasn't gunna let this one go cus he's like a dog with a bone. They were in formal wear all ep which was a Good Look™ and Wilson's retelling of how he won the poker championship may have been one of the cutest things I have ever seen Ep18: Emma from Glee is here and she has the black plague,, her gf decided to donate her liver n Cameron was all het up cus house had worked out plague girl was gunna leave her and sending the gf in blind would be ~~unethical~~ but turns out she knew and deliberately did that so Emma would stay with her out of guilt lmao. In other news Cameron's pissy cus foreman 'stole' her article and house spent most of the episode napping cus wilson is fuckin up his sleep cycle ;) I'm upset there was no physical wilson Ep19: the most annoying patient so far appears in the form of a 15 yr old faith healer with herpes. I feel like the degree to which unrelenting niceness irritates me rly says something about me but eh oh well. Chase (ofc it was chase) kept a tally on who was winning God or house, faith healer managed to shrink a womans cancer tumour through giving her herpes (((a miracle praise be))) and during poker night house called wilson out on sleeping with said cancer patient and discovered wilson was actually living with her whoops bad Wilson ((he totally regrets his life choices ((he should)))) Ep20: HOLY SHIT ITS A TWOPARTER AND FOREMANS GUNNA DIE !! Ok so,,, there was this cop who couldn't stop laughing till he could but then it got a lot worse and then foreman caught whatever it was which they began to realise when he smirked as house shot a corpse to see what a bullet in a brain would do to an MRI ((spoilers it broke the machine)) anyway long story short it wasnt the pigeons and the cops dead and foreman is gunna die even after that shitdick move he pulled where he stabbed Cameron with a needle so she'd go to the apartment Ep21: HOO BOY OK SO a lot happened so much happened the most important thing is foreman by the end of the ep is mostly kind of ok - he's just a bit muddled on his lefts n rights. During the ep house was stressed the entire time cus even tho he denys it he does love n care for his ducklings,, he even cares enough to deliberately attempt to poison Steve McQueen which didn't work but can be added to the list of stressful events. Cameron grew a spine a lil bit I literally yelled when she berated cuddy and she forced the biopsy cus foreman had the foresight (ayyyyy) to make her his medical proxy even if house managed to find the problem anyway so it was ultimately unnecessary and has just resulted in some possible brain damage Ep22: house keeps trying to pick a fight with foreman and failing because Foreman's all happy go lucky now, the patient was mad because of a thing and killed her baby accidentally on purpose, the music that played during the baby autopsy was super unnecessary and bizzare, and in the end the woman had cancer but she's refusing treatment cus of the baby guilt. Cuddy didn't have cancer, which we know because Wilson ((WILSON NOT HOUSE)) stole her dna and ran secret tests in the middle of the night, but it still wasn't a date Wilson despite what house said about skin lessions she was actually just going to attempt to use u as a sperm donor - have fun at the L-word marathon with house you big sad loser (I love u) Ep23: we meet an old house friend which is Super fun he is ridiculously naive and I love that he calls house g-man holy shit. House is now giving cuddy injections as part of a fertility treatment which is nice of him especially seeing as his leg was in a Lot of pain this ep,, like a LOT...he's self-injecting morphine now which is probably bad :/ house's friend's daughter was the patient at one point she pooped out her mouth gRoSs and house ran a paternity test n told the girl she was actually the dudes daughter ((except he was lYINg in support of his friend)) he does care Ep24: HOUSE GOT SHOT WHAT IS IT WITH THIS TEAM SUFFERING RN JC this was a very fun episode of 'guess when house is hallucinating', spoilers the answer is all the time the whole ep takes place in his head. That aside I absolutely loved the hospital gown/trainer combo (no I won't apologize) and the fact that house did almost none of his physio - instead relegating it to others which is....not how it works. The hallucinatory clinic patient was freaky deaky his eye exploded and so did his dick but dw cus to escape the hallucination house killed him ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ what can u do. At the end house woke up n requested ketamine we'll see how that goes

it's honestly unbelievable how all of the worst gg ships were endgame like. I turned into one and so did my friends, but we could retain our humanity, and we fought and found a way to the heavens and started to live in peace but god was trying to kill us all./ I found a man who could fly, and he lent me the power to do it, but I ended up being a natural with it and didn’t need his power, so he tried to get rid of me but I busted out of there and flew away.

Are you afraid of the dark/goosebumps. Kids set of nuclear bomb, had powers, before that, main girl (wind/air powers), was dating boy (flame powers), but he was angry, third girl was younger (powers of light and flight). Horror characters like Chucky/slappy tried to kill original victims, plus the new kids. They defeated them and helped past victims. I ended up dating angry boy instead.

Melissa and me in Japan kids, someone has to stay behind in the past She does, her ring breaks like it did before and she finally realizes why, this time our friend stays behind with the ring

Toys could come alive, and wanted freedom to be, but mainly they just wanted to be with loving kids. We fought, and I killed a few. After understanding them, and realizing they just wanted to be loved, I befriended them, and reunited with mine. After everything was said and done, my old friend turned bully, who was trying to help the toys in their rebellion rekindled with me, for some reason he ended up being homeless and moved in with me and family, we fought once more and kissed and lived in love with my toys and each other. My toys lived in the basement floorboards, like the borrowers, and every night and morning I’d knock on them to let them know I still loved them.

Samee Tee Tra  (The Marked Husband)

This is a very very twisted drama, I mean you're gonna see most of the things we see in Western Dramas

This is my 4th lakorn so far so good, as I understand Thai people are a little bit less conservative comparing to Koreans & Chinese.   (We see a lot of actors playing, gays and trans genders, dressing is a little bit more sexy, they have bed scenes ( not intimacy) but lying in the same bed with babydolls, or short nities, etc etc, some K-C dramas are funny on that part eg girls fall pregnant after a kiss, I have seen a Chinese Movie she fall pregnant after sharing a passionate kiss with a guy etc etc)  It's still a boo boo  to make a kid out of wedlock, but it's understandable and I also support that ideology.as a child needs both father and a mother  

We see a woman Karat who had 3 unsuccessful marriages both cheated on her and died.  Her late 3rd husband not only had an affair and impregnate her childhood friend but he had cheated on her with several other women as well. 

People blames her for unsuccessful marriages and the more people blames her for her unsuccessful marriages the more insecure she becomes. 

Karat learns that her husband impregnated her best friend after her husband's funeral. When she learnt that her husband died she rushes to hospital but she had a traffic accident, she stops a car that happens to be Pisut's car, after Pisut took her to hospital she says I don't like owing to ppl, she gives him her wedding ring.

  During the funeral Karat goes into a very bad mental-psychological state, she tries to kill herself and rescued by Pisut,  She already previously saw Pisut on that day while she was on an event, and her best friend was with her, (Sai Nampeung) Nampeung sees Pisut and gives him a look and that moment is very important because that single scene is giving a lot of hints of about the upcoming episodes the relationship between  Karat, Pisut and herself.. This already made 3 in a day.... 

Later on their path Karat & Pisut crosses a couple of more times and Pisut saves Karat a couple of more times :) this only happens in dramas both bumping into the same guy a couple of times in a day and both being saved by the same guy a couple of more times. 

Karat is a rich, spoiled woman and she has got insecurities because of her previous experiences.  However Nampeung is quite the opposite she was always jealous of her friend who was always good to her, she's jealous of her friends wealth & lifestyle and at the end she snatches her husband and falls pregnant, after the guy's death, she finds the guy's mother and break the pregnancy news, but the mother says you're own your own, he already have a legal wife who's here sitting, and my son never wanted to have kids.. So she had a slap from that side.. 

I believe Pisute fell in love with Karat when he saved her from the accident 2nd time..   

She's still not over anything this time she tries to steal Pisut from Karat and play all the dirty tricks in the book, but Pisut is in love with his wife, he mentions a couple of times that he sees her as a colleague nothing more than this could happen in between them. 

Karat  might have insecurities but she's a strong woman, she's honest, she has a child like personality when showing love, she's jealous of her husband, ( any woman would, especially the one's that have bad experience would be more, as they'd be scared what if the history repeats itself)

Actually Karat has got 2 more sisters, one of them is a doctor, both sisters are beautiful.  Their mother always accuses their dad of having an affair with Pisut's mother. I believe that's why Karat is like that, her mother's influence. ( her temperance is defo from the mother)

Nampeung doesn't only try to pursue Pisut, she also have an affair with Siwa a rich, careless chaebol, he is the fiance of the doctor sister.  Nampeung does her best to fool Karat that her husband is having an affair with her..    Nampeung spends all her time chasing for men, instead of looking after her child

The maid is one of the characters I love in this drama, After Karat got married she moved into Pisut & Karat's house, she is more than a maid, she does what a best friend does for Karat.  Nampeung manages to create big marital problem between Karat & Pisut.  Nampeung as being the mistress of Siwa she leaves her lipstick on Siwa's car so that doctor fiance would find and breaks up from him. 

But let me tell you this Siwa is not like Pisut, he can easily tell fck off to Nampeung, after the lipstick  ( incase if you are wondering that Lipstick is Yves Saint Laurent 'Rouge Volupté Pink in Paris that's one of the best selling shade) incident the first person he went to see was her.  He told don't mess with her if you don't want your money fountain to stop

the thing is Nampeung have hopes of snatching a rich handsome husband whether he's single or married.  Siwa writes her a cheque telling we won't be seeing each other for a while ( moral story easy comes easy goes)

Karat genuinely loves her husband and so does Pisut Siwa proposes to doc sister with his deceased mothers wedding ring..  ( I used to find that sort of scenes romantic when I was much younger but at this age I found it too cheesy )

Nampeung is seriously gone mental after the death of the ex-husband of Karat.  She needs to be shut into an institution. She is basically a mistress and not giving up on this, as for Siwa a person with a set habit won't change it...  His father had many women so he takes his dad as an example Other than Karat's ma it's always Pisut's ma trying to help them, unlike the other dramas she's not the evil one here..

The thing is Pisut is an idiot guy, how can he be so blind to the games of a simple town bike.   At the end Nampeung fell pregnant from Siwa and got rejected by him, this is the 2nd guy who rejects her, she is not a loveable person so I don't feel sorry about her but she goes and tells Pasat that she's pregnant from her husband and as a proof she shows her his jacket..   

If I were Pasat I'd either kill that woman or kill my husband bec that's too much any woman would go crazy, she caused another marital problems in between Pisut and Karat, and they got divorced, Nampeung goes to Siwa's houses announces herself as his new wife, poor mother is shocked and disgusted.  ofcourse a woman like her won't stop just pretending that she's pregnant from Pisut

During this time Pisut really missed Pasat, and she moved into Pisut's home, Pisut and his mother left the palace, she's living on her own and pretending to be pregnant from Pasat, and her baby is looked after by another woman, she calls her aunt.  When that lady finds her and tells her that your baby needs you, he's hungry he needs milk, she says I'm pregnant I'm trying to find a dad for my baby, take care it of yourself. 

She caused so many problems both for herself, people who cared for her, Pisut, Pasat and her family, anyone related close to her got hit by Nampeung. On the sister's wedding Pisut's mother tells Pasat the truth that Pisut lied to her to protect her, Nampeung is not pregnant from Pisut.

Nam goes to Obstetrician to check if the baby is safe, she was scared of having ectopic pregnancy , she learns that the baby is safe, she calls Siwa, but no answer, her phone was at her sister's hand, Pasat calls the number and Nam thinking that it's Siwa at the end of the line reveals everything, she calls herself as her wife and she accuses him that he wanted to make a baby and now not taking care of his wife and baby.  Pasat gets angry and asks an answer from Siwa, Siwa begs him not to tell it to the sister but too late, she already heard everything

Siwa begs for mercy not to tell it to sister but it's too late, sister already heard everything she says I won't marry you.. She runs off from her own wedding.    One mistake just for fun, caused him to lose the woman he loves, so the history repeated itself, he made the same mistake his father did, being unfaithful. 

Pasat goes to Pisut's home Nam aggressively asks what she's doing in her husband's house, another proof that she's seriously mental!! Pisut asks for an answer why did she do those things to her little sister as her problem was only with Pasat not with her siblings. 

Finally swords been pulled out, Pandora's box is open, we see that Nam always been jealous of Pasat, poor Pasat she only saw her a best friend but she's been stabbed by her, not only her but also her sister, her husband, her sister's fiance. 

The pool scene I don't know how they can be so stupid enough to think that we'll think she's gonna get drown in the water that's coming up to her ankles.  Thank god that Pisut came at the last minute as she fell and hit her head to the pool, and faints

Not only Pisut comes but Siwa comes as well..  Tell her that she ruined his life.  ( she didn't do it only by herself , you are the one who also slept with her Siwa)

Meanwhile Gun is at the hospital ( Pasat) fighting for life,  Nam fell on the broken mirror,  she's been hospitalised and had a miscarriage , as she fell on to mirror her face been cut.

Siwa says I'll handle her hospital bills. 

Even Though not everything is Siwa's fault, he genuinely apologized from the aunt. 

Now time to tell his wrong doings to his fiance and asking for mercy,  for a start over. 

He might have genuinely loved her but while being engaged he shouldn't have other women in his life..   Sister doesn't forgive him for now, but we have one more episode left while I'm typing see what's gonna happen in the last episode. 

Siwa says sorry to Pasat for causing her break up from Pisut

Now Pasat is in her grandad's farm, she met Pisut by chance and he was with another woman, she got jealous again haha this comes from the mother..

Umm for now I have a feeling like Pisut is trying to make her jealous.. Jealousy Incarnate lol

well if Pisut makes Pasat jealous, she'll play the same trick on him,  She introduced a younger guy as her bf to Pisut and his gf (fake gf)

Finally Finally they reconcile and Pisut asks Pasat to marry him : )

Not only our double P's are remarrying, ma & dad also remarrying lol :D that was smth I was not expecting.  I still have a little bit hope for the sister but I don't think we'll see their reconcile.  

If you remember way back in the earlier episodes the doc sis called Pisut knight in shining armour (knight on a white charger) ah the final scene is :D 

 We can clearly say that Karma finds Nam at the end..  She reaps what she sow. 

There's another moral story in this drama, it tells us that you can't break a family and built your own family on top of it. 

I totally loved the chemistry between the two leads.  Not sure if they have done another one together but if not they need to do one soon :p
