I may have settled on a new fixation, finally.

I started thinking about an older story of mine, once more an original setting. For the past few days I’ve been doodling some of the main characters, but I also went to dig into my old laptop for the original arts and notes I have on there. And the old art is somethin’ let me tell ya. XD

The main premise of the story is this;

Amycus is a young prince, heir to the throne. But one day while his family is on a ship, they’re attacked by pirates. Amycus and his baby brother manage to escape with their lives, and wash ashore near a hidden, mild-natured town called Concordia.

The boys are taken in by a family living on the outskirts, and Amycus grows up preparing himself to one day return to the throne. But as they grow, the displaced prince finds it harder to figure out where his heart and duties lie…

While that's the main "spine" of the story, there are a LOT of characters and other little plots that branch off of it. In some ways it feels a bit like a self-indulgent stewing pot of a bunch of "This idea seems fun, lets throw that in there too". But it's still something that I hold dear, and a lot of the old designs still hold up, though some touchups are in order. (I've noticed quite a few writing elements that I've reused since. I guess old habits die hard. XD)

Also the people of this world are anthro beings, each capable of transforming into a single animal form.

These were all drawn before I did any digging on my old laptop, just to dip my toes back into that world. I may share some of the older arts later, but I may not. We'll see how I feel about it later. X3 I did notice that in the older stuff, Amycus is a year older than Celine, as opposed to the younger stated here. That was a slip up with my memory, but there's room for me to change it if I feel like. There's a lot of timeline stuff that needs a LOT of ironing out. X3

Anyway, I think it would be cool to at least start putting this old gem out there. I'd wanted to back in the day, but never got to the point of confidence I needed to begin. ^^

today's birthday is Cardinal, also known as Varuna these days.

he started off as a sweet innocent boy who found himself in a relationship with pretty little Ambrosia Di'Angelis ♥♥♥ only to end up in an unwanted poly relationship with her and Arsenio... we love and stan healthy poly relationships in this house.... but we also love and stan the toxic ones too okay. and this was most certainly a toxic one.

at some point along the way, Cardinal found out he was actually a Dragon (we have so much in hocverse okay, i'm telling you there's something for everyone, ya'll need to get in on this already from these really bad posts i'm making). and when he ultimately has a huge fight with Ambra and breaks up with her, he leaves for a loooong time and lives as a Dragon.

when he comes back, he's very Different. he looks different, he acts different. and he goes by Varuna now~

there's SO much about this boy that i'd have to make either a really long post or some other posts in the future so, maybe i will one day.

if anyone wants to hear about their messy breakup just let me know ;) or how he may or may not have ended up having a child with Ambra one day anyway...

Hello Lovelies!!

I understand there are not many people who have happened upon, or will happen upon, this blog, but I find motivation seems to stem from writing as if for an audience. It adds a feeling of urgency, a desire to write well instead of just writing for oneself.

So for those who do happen upon our blog, welcome!

Myself, and a few of my fellow authors, are working on a novella titled "The House of Crows." It's set in the early 2000s, primarily centered around a group of beings known as "Wardens." It's a gothic-mystery, with some psychological thriller on the side. - The story follows a young woman named Alice Miller, a farm girl pursuing her dream of working in police forensics. She did not however, foresee that it might lead to her helping to track down a shape-shifting, arcane magic wielding psychopath after the brutal murder of her boyfriend.

She will soon come to find that the realm of the arcane, pacts dating back to the Salem Witch trials, and well known ghost stories are far closer to the truth than to fiction.

We're very excited to share what's been our passion project for the last several years, and bring this world from a jumbled bundle of thoughts into a tangible (and hopefully legible) piece of fiction.
