What We Know, What To Expect, & Moving Forward!

Hey Y’All!

By the time this post is made, we’ll be–roughly–eleven months away from the release date of Sonic the Hedgehog 3(2024). As of now, we don’t have a whole lot of information concerning the Knuckles Series on Paramount + and when it will release. The same can be said for the third Sonic movie.  Last time I made an updated post was back in January of 2023. Since then, we’ve gained some new information. I’ve combed through everything that’s been posted since 2021 to compile into a large master post! When leaks and other news resurface, I’ll update this post monthly to share via reblog.

Release dates:

It’s safe to say that the third Sonic movie is on track to release on December 20th, 2024 in the United States. Global release dates for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 have yet to be released.

The SAG-AFTRA strike in 2023 has not interfered with the movie’s production. Though not yet confirmed, we can infer that the strike has pushed the Knuckles Series back by a few months. The original release date for the series was meant to release “sometime in 2023” (Otterson, 2023). It is unclear when the Knuckles Series will stream on Paramount +. However, Screen Rant’s interview with Tika Sumpter implies that a release date for the series will be shared on Super Bowl Sunday (Screen Rant, 2024). Super Bowl Sunday is on February 11th, 2024. 

Returning Actors/New Actors:

The following are actors that will be returning to SONIC MOVIE 3:

Ben Schwartz will reprise his role as “Sonic”

Colleen O'Shaughnessey will reprise her role as “Tails”

Idris Elba will reprise his role as “Knuckles”

James Marsden is expected to reprise his role as “Tom”

Tika Sumpter will reprise her role as “Maddie”

Lee Majdoub will reprise his role as “Agent Stone.”

As of now, a voice actor for “Shadow” has not been announced. A “Big Name Actor” has been chosen to voice “Shadow” since 2022 (Klamath Comicon, 2022). The popular rumor is that Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker) will be Shadow’s VA (Physical Media President, 2024). This has not been confirmed as of yet. There is no indication that previous voice actors from other Sonic games will appear to voice Shadow the Hedgehog.

It’s unclear at this moment in time if Jim Carrey will reprise his role as “Dr. Robotnik.” The agreement is that if Jim Carrey is committed to his retirement, then the character will be retired completely. Dr. Robotnik will not be recast (Klamath Comicon, 2022). In late 2022, after announcing his retirement, Jim Carrey appeared in an interview with GMA saying that he would make an exception for Sonic 3 if he liked the script due to loving the Sonic series (GMA, 2022).

Other characters–Rachel, Randall, JoJo, Wade, “Crazy” Carl, and characters from the Knuckles Series–have yet to be announced.

The following are actors that will be starring/returning in KNUCKLES SERIES:

Idris Elba will reprise his role as “Knuckles”

Adam Pally will reprise his role as “Wade Whipple”

Tika Sumpter will reprise her role as “Maddie”

It is unclear who the newcomers to the Knuckles Series will be playing. The actor list can be found HERE.

**NOTE: At this moment in time, it is unclear whether or not we will gain new characters in the third Sonic film. Fans hope for Rouge, Amy Rose, Gerald Robotnik, and Maria Robotnik to appear in these continuations. Writers Pat Casey and Josh Miller are aware of there being more female Sonic characters and a need for Sonic characters in general (Movie-Robotnik-Positivity, 2022). Also note that characters are meant to take reference from GAME CANON only; characters from comic books, mobile games, and other spinoff titles will NOT appear in the SCU franchise.**

Flexibility & Mandates:

Yes, this is a separate subject. I have received questions about this in the past and continue to today. In 2021, Pat Casey shared that mandates are not a thing when writing the films; they are provided lenient suggestions and have asked for source game material from SEGA in the past (Movie-Robotnik-Positivity, 2022). These suggestions are NOT the same as the IDW comics. If the writers are not sure of something about Sonic lore, they contact SEGA. Canon for movies is meant to draw in from the game-verse instead of comic books and spin off titles due to familiarity.

New lore can be created–I.E. chaos emeralds being entities within the Master Emerald rather than viewed as separate items–as long as it follows elements of games, and made easy for fans and newcomers to follow (Movie-Robotnik-Positivity, 2022).

The movies are NOT canon to the video games, but take heavy inspiration from them. They exist within their own canon universe.

Ian Flynn has NO involvement with the movies whatsoever.

Tyson Hesse is the producer for the Knuckles Series, the movies, and a creative consultant.

Pat Casey and Josh Miller have asked for game-material ONLY for Shadow's characterization, they do not plan to use the comic books or previous TV shows for writing Shadow (Legacy, 2022).

Story and Plot:

SONIC MOVIE 3–It is unclear at this moment in time what the plot is for the third Sonic film. What we can infer is that Sonic 3 will take “heavy inspiration” from both Sonic Adventure 2 and Shadow’s solo game for plot (Klamath Comicon, 2022). This does NOT mean that it’s going to be an exact replica of these games. The third film is meant to tie-in with the Knuckles Series. Whatever is shared in the miniseries will be carried over to the movie’s plot (Lang, 2022). The plot synopsis shared in late 2022 with AmyRose, Big the Cat, and Metal Sonic was DEBUNKED by @tailschannel. The synopsis for Sonic 3 released in November of 2023 was DEBUNKED.

Drafting and planning for Sonic 3 began late 2021 (Movie-Robotnik-Positivity, 2022). Storyboard planning for Sonic 3 began late 2022 (Welcome-to-Green-Hills, 2022). A finalized script for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was finished weeks before the SAG-AFTRA strike (Pat Casey, 2023). Filming for Sonic 3 began in August 2023 and continues currently (Welcome-to-Green-Hills, 2023). The budget for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is massive (Legacy, 2022).

In 2022, Pat Casey states that Sonic will have trouble trying to reach out to our beloved anti-hero. In the same interview, Pat Casey also stated that the tone of the third film is meant to be a bit darker. Understand that a story’s tone doesn’t always have to reflect a film’s rating, meaning that the story can be dark and still fit within the requirements of a PG or a PG-13 film. Pat Casey also shared with Screen Rant to be prepared to cry with their wild story (Bythrow, 2022).

What we can expect from the movie is a scene at a ski lodge, a GUN car and motorcycle chase scene on a bridge in a Tokyo-like city, scenes at a research facility/storage unit, scenes at Green Hills, and a scene in space.

KNUCKLES SERIES–The Knuckles series is a limited series debuting only on Paramount +. The story follows Knuckles as he teaches deputy Wade Whipple the ways of the Echidna Warrior and goes on an adventure of self-discovery (Otterson, 2022). The limited series is six episodes in total that are roughly an hour long (Welcome-to-Green-Hills, 2024). So far, leaks online have shown that Knuckles, Maddie, Wade, Wade’s extended family, and a female villain will be the main characters for the series. We can expect scenes to take place in Reno, a bowling alley, a diner, and parts of Green Hills, Montana. Lore and stories that take place in the Knuckles Series will continue over to the third Sonic film.

Music Selection:

The demand for Sonic music in the third film and the spinoff series has been at an all-time high. At Klamath Community College’s Comicon event, Pat Casey and Josh Miller have shared their hopes for Crush 40 to appear in the film, specifically the song “Live and Learn (2001).” An interview with Pat Casey in mid-to-late 2022 stated that SEGA’s copyright laws for their music are tricky to include into the films (Movie-Robotnik-Positivity, 2022). He and Jeff Fowler (director) hope to find a loophole in the copyright.

Leaks Online:

Storyboards– On January 11th, 2024, Twitter user @/cartoonupdates released 462 storyboard pages of the Knuckles Series and 443 storyboard pages of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (Welcome-to-Green-Hills, 2024). These were taken down less than 24 hours after publication. Storyboard leaks for the Knuckles Series depicted a scene between Knuckles and Wade fighting the Black Arms, as well as a person in a mechanical suit. This scene is in front of a bowling alley with witnesses watching and Wade saying, “the flames of disaster.” Storyboard leaks for the third Sonic Movie depicted Super Shadow and Dr. Robotnik in a space station traveling back in time. Super Shadow spins the space station back in time to where Dr. Robotnik is able to see a fight between Super Sonic and Shadow, Agent Stone nursing him to health, and Dr. Robotnik firing a hand laser.

Reddit– At this moment in time, there have been no plot-related leaks regarding the third Sonic movie in Reddit chatrooms. We can expect NDA special screenings around mid-to-late summer, or early fall.

Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, & Instagram–Leaked set photos of Sonic 3 have surfaced during the SAG-AFTRA strike. These scenes show stand-in models of Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles residing in a campsite near a snowy lodge. One leaked scene featured a motorcycle chase scene with police cars and an explosion on a bridge in London, England. Jeff Fowler shared a stand-in model of Shadow’s shoes in a warehouse-like setting.

Rating:

At this moment in time, both Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (2024) and the Knuckles Series do not have a strong rating. However, speculation is that Sonic 3 will push for a HARD PG due to the Slovakian rating/certificate system released earlier this year (Welcome-to-Green-Hills, 2024). Official ratings/certificates for both of the series are expected to release closer to their aimed launch dates. These ratings/certificates are usually given four weeks before released to the public.

Continuation(s):

There are no existing plans or confirmation that there will be a fourth installment of SCU currently. Clarity on whether or not Paramount will approve a fourth Sonic movie can be expected closer to, or after, Sonic 3’s release date. Rule of thumb is that if fans are interested in the series, then Jeff Fowler and Pat Casey will continue to make Sonic-related content (Movie-Robotnik-Positivity, 2022).

On January 16th, 2024, Hollywood Handle announced a potential “Shadow the Hedgehog” title (Hollywood Handle, 2024). It is unclear at the moment if it’s a limited series on Paramount +, or if it’s a movie. It’s also unclear if this rumor is true.

REDDIT (Disclaimer):

Reddit is notorious for leaking NDA special screenings, photos, as well as having members of the SCU crew make throw-away accounts to post teasers. “Leaks” of any kind can be found in either “#SonicMovie3” or “#SonicMovie” chat rooms with a spoiler warning.

Reddit posters that usually make these leaks get to see special screenings of films in mid-production. Understand that these advanced screenings are given to people on invite; they are asked to watch a film that’s in mid-production and critique it for improvement. If leaks are shared about their advanced screening, they can’t always go into full detail due to violation of their NDAs. On the rare occasion that they do share details of the screening, the posts are taken down by both Paramount and by Reddit Staff within 24 hours.

It is also common for there to be two screenings of the same movie with minor tweaks. I.E., in 2019, two versions of the first movie were available for test screening within a week’s time. One test screener’s filming experience featured a “campfire scene” and Longclaw going to earth with Sonic. Another test screener’s filming experience was the same, but featured a Dr. Robotnik and Agent Stone fight scene with General Walters. These were scrapped later on and found in the first movie’s “deleted scenes” feature.

The best advice that I can give for checking the authenticity of a post is to look for consistency, as well as HOW test screeners describe their experience. It’s easy to tell the difference between sharing a feeling and telling a fabricated story for likes.

Moving Forward:

Both Tika Sumpter and Pat Casey have shared that any members of SCU CANNOT share anything related to Sonic 3 or the Knuckles Series. They are under a strict NDA contract that could remove them from the projects entirely if discussed publicly. Questions online, private interviews, and so forth cannot be shared unless Paramount gives them permission to. If you ask them a question on Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, or any other social media platform regarding the movies, they will ignore it. This isn’t them being rude, it’s them honoring a NDA contract.

Expect radio silence for extended periods of time. The third Sonic film is meant to be a major improvement from the last two films. Paramount has been cracking down on leaks and anonymous tippers online for the past two months. There will be times where we receive a flood of information about the films, other times there will be nothing. This is completely normal, I promise.

If Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and the Knuckles Series are the end of SCU, know that I’ve had an incredible time enjoying the hype and moments with y’all. What an amazing journey we’ve been on! Thank you! Damn. You’d been caught staring at Roy Kent- again. You had to be imagining the softness that appeared in his brown eyes as he gazed at you, waiting for you to pick what kind of ice cream you wanted.

Averting your eyes to the ice cream display, you cleared your throat. “Um, chocolate I guess?”

His smirk was full of teasing. “You guess?”

“Chocolate,” you confirmed with a chuckle.

That smile- that stupid, wonderful smile- had you making emergency lesson plans in your head, because surely you’d need at least a week to recover from it. He quickly ordered three ice creams, waving your hand away gingerly when you tried to slip him a few quid. It had to be an accident when his fingers brushed yours- right?

Needing a moment to collect yourself, you excused yourself to go wash your hands once the three of you found a small outside table, leaving Roy alone with a suspiciously quiet Phoebe.

“Oi.” He hooked a finger around her little ice cream bowl and tugged it away from her now pouting face. “Tell me the fucking truth. Why’d your mum tell you to invite your teacher to our practice?”

“Well,” Phoebe started slowly, eyes zeroed in on her treat. “She said it would be a nice thing to do. And, well…” Her gaze flickered to her uncle. “She also said she wanted me to tell her all about the look on your face when she showed up.”

Roy’s cheeks were on fire; he was going to fucking murder his sister. “And what face did I make?”

His niece looked thoughtful. “Well, you looked surprised. A little nervous. And sort of happy.” Her face turned mischievous. “Mum says you fancy-”

“Did you uncle really steal your ice cream, Pheebs?”

As you took the seat next to him, Roy slid the little bowl back towards the little traitor, his heart quickening at the sound of your teasing. “If you’d been gone another minute, yours would’ve been next,” he joked, feeling his entire body soften when he realized how close you were.

With a playful eyeroll that surprised you, you smiled at Phoebe. “So, Pheobe, did you tell your uncle about how you did on last week’s spelling test?”

The three of you dove into easy conversation- about school, football, Phoebe’s friends. It felt wonderfully natural, eating ice cream with Roy Kent and his niece, as if the three of you hung out all the time. The relaxed way he looked at you, the way he made you and Phoebe laugh, hell, even the way he held out his bowl so you could try a bit of his cinnamon-vanilla ice cream, all of it made you forget that he was a famous footballer; it was almost as if he could be any student’s handsome, funny, kind uncle who you had an ever-growing crush on.

By the time the three of you walked back to the school parking lot and the uncle-niece duo wished you a good rest of your weekend- with Roy thanking you for joining them- you finally admitted the embarrassing, thrilling truth to yourself: You were positively, absolutely, undeniably smitten with Roy fucking Kent.

he was woken up by the sound of muffled coughing and whimpering coming from down the hall. he takes a deep breath and pushes himself up out of bed to go see what the problem was.

when hayden got into the bathroom, his eyes immediately fill with worry. in the blink of an eye, he's knelt down next to you, hand going to pull your hair back. you were gripping the seat of the toilet, sobbing and shuddering. "shh, sh sh, you're okay," he pulls you in away from the bowl.

"shhh," he puts a hand on the back of your head, holding you to his chest, and the other stays on your back underneath your shirt, rubbing soothing circles into your soft skin. "try to even out your breaths, alright?" he presses a soft kiss to your head. "don't want you to choke."

remus always knows when you're upset.

remus watched as you were finishing the strawberry tarts. he was not so sneakily stealing strawberries as you hummed along to the soft music pouring out of the speakers. it was friday night but you wanted to drop them off to mrs silvia tonight so you could sleep in tomorrow. mrs silvia was a kind older woman who lived alone and spoke with an accent neither of you could place - though you did enjoy speculating about it - and every week she would order some kind of baked good from you. 

you put them all neatly in a box and said you'd be quick even though both of you knew that wasn't true. she only lived two floors below you but mrs silvia always chatted for just a tad too long whenever she saw either of you.

so, seventeen minutes later and counting he was browsing through netflix waiting for your return. it was his pick tonight and he knew no matter what he chose you'd tease him about it, but he didn't mind. just as he was starting to get restless you return. you smile softly at him as you lean on the doorframe for stability while you tug your shoes off.  

remus returns your smile and stares at you intently. his gaze feels sharp on you, you always feel exposed under his stare, like he can see all of your secrets. 

you start walking to the couch and flop down on the side closest to the door and run a hand over your face, feeling exhausted. remus cocks his head as his eyes follow you, squinting slightly as he continues study you.

“what’s wrong, angel?”

you met his gaze and glared playfully “nothin’. what's wrong with you remmy?”

he scrunches his nose up at the nickname and watches you disappear into your bedroom. you smile as you enter your room upon the sight of one of remus’ brown sweaters folded on your bed. you undress before pulling on the sweater, a pair of comfy boxer briefs and some fluffy socks.

once you’re done you go back into the living room to see remus with a bowl of popcorn and and two cups of tea on the coffee table. he’d taken off his own sweater and was now just relaxing on your couch in his faded graphic tee and grey sweatpants. he’s fiddling with the remote loading up revenge of the sith. 

“hey pretty boy.” you give him a tired smile.

“hey bunny. c’mere.” you fall onto the couch and remus pulls you into him, loving his arms around you and letting your head loll onto his chest. you lean back and look up to him grinning at him. “y’ready for a subpar star wars movie?" 

“if by subpar you mean the bestest most awesomest star wars movie then yes.”

“whatever you wanna believe, love.”

he only half watches the movie. you’d watched them together plenty of time before anyway, he was more interested in watching you. he saw you grow slowly more and more tired.

just as padme gives birth, you start snoring lightly against his chest. he pushes some stray hairs out of your face and kisses your forehead. “g’night bunny.”

and you always take care of remus.

the upbeat knocks on his door jolts remus out of his half asleep state sprawled out on his worn out couch. he sighs as he rises and cracks his back on the short walk to the door.

he swings it open to reveal a familiar smiling face holding a loaf of some kind of bread. he can't help but mirror your smile as he steps aside to invite you in.

“i heard you arrive home 20 minutes ago but i wanted to finish making my banana bread first so i could bring you some” you ramble on while heading towards the kitchen and placing it down on the small breakfast bar, then turning to face him again “mrs. silvia gave me some bananas yesterday apparently her son-” you’re cut off by remus’ arms wrapping around you and his head burying itself in your neck.

you softly start to run your hands through his hair while your other arm returns his impromptu hug. “you doin’ okay remmy?” you question softly but instead of responding his arms just tighten around you.

you furrow your brows and lean back slightly to grab his jaw and look into his eyes. “you high rem?”

“mhmm” 

“wanna go to bed?”

a beat passes before he slowly nods into your neck. you slowly untangle yourself from him and pull him into his bedroom. you face him and reach up to run your hands through his hair and down his face. he leans into your touch and closes his eyes. you move your hands lower and reach for the bottom of his sweater and slowly pull it over his head and onto the floor. he pulls you into a hug again and your arms go around your waist and lean into him. 

“remus dear?”

“yeah love?”

“please don’t take this the wrong way but when was the last time you showered?”

“um… maybe 4 days ago?”

“rem?” 

“yes?”

“can i run you a bath?”

“please angel.”

you giggle as you pull away and walk into his bathroom to start drawing a bath. there were plenty of bath products there already you had gifted him after you taught him how to use them properly. remus lingers in the doorway watching you intently. 

you can feel him lingering “strip, lupin.”

“if you wanted to see me naked pet you could've just asked.” he pulls his shirt off before fumbling with his jeans. he struggles a lot with the button before huffing and leaning against the wall. “babyyyy i need help.”

you sigh softly and move closer to him and undo his jeans “you got it from here pretty boy?” you tease lightly.

“you think i’m pretty?”

“course darlin’” 

he smiles and feels his face heat up. your comments always affect him more when he’s high. 

you watch him shyly turn his head away and smile fondly “the baths ready hon’ do ya need anythin’ else?”

he shakes his head, and you leave the room. once you hear the small click of the door closing you turn and head towards the kitchen. you cut up some of the banana bread and get two glasses of water. you take them to his bedroom and place them on his bedside table. you move around the room, lighting the few candles you had bought for him and grabbing some clean clothes for him. 

you knock on the bathroom door “rem, can i come in?”

“yeah, love.” his muffled voice replies.

you walk in and smile down at him. there were enough bubbles in the bath to preserve his modesty (not that he would have cared anyway) so you could only really see his shoulder and above. “i brought you some clean clothes babe for whenever you’re ready.”

“thanks angel.” he smiles, and you leave again.

you grab some painkillers for his unavoidable hangover in the morning. you decide to change into one of remus’ t-shirts and a spare pair of sleep bottoms you left there. you go back into the kitchen and start making two cups of tea. you set out two mugs and chose the tea bags but just as you start adding the sugar you hear a groan coming from the bathroom. you abandoned the tea and rushed to the bathroom.

as you walk in you seem remus on the floor, shirtless, with one leg inside his pyjama pants.

you can’t help the small giggle that escaped at the sight. “need help sugar?” 

“pleaseeee.” he gives you those stupid puppy dog eyes.

you help him to his feet and hold him to stabilise him while he puts his other leg into his pants. once his pants are securely on his hips you reach for his shirt and bunch it up to help him put his head through the hole. then, helping his arm goes into each sleeve. you smile and pat his chest.

you return to the kitchen and finish making the tea. you move to the sink to wash the teaspoon you used and the other few stray dishes when you feel his arms wrap around your waist. he snuggles into you and smells your hair. he starts slowly kissing your neck and rubbing small circles onto your hip bone with his hand.

“you’re being very affectionate,” you comment trying to come off as nonchalant despite leaning into his touch.

“i missed you.” he mumbled into your neck.

“you saw me this morning.”

“i know but it’s not enough.” he whines slightly in a way that is somehow endearing.

“seeing me every day isn’t enough? what did you take?” you snicker slightly.

“pads had some mushrooms. we’re not the right kind of close we need to be closer. i love you bunny.”

“i love you too remmy.”

“no not in the right way. not in the way i do.”

your breathe hitches. he was high. you force an insincere giggle “you’re so high baby. you ready for bed?”

“can you stay? please stay the night with me?”

“yeah, rem. i’ll stay.”

Sorry about the length! Hope you read it anyway, if not no harm done :) a sad

My shameful crush is actually a scent mixed with a person??? I have this very vague, kind of snapshot-like memory of being 5 years old and sneaking out of my bed in an attempt to hide behind the couch and share a snack with my grandmas dog (a bowl of dry Cheerios, I would get the left handful, she would get the right handful). I got out of bed, and snuck behind the couch only to then realize that my mom was sitting on the couch. Blocking my entry to the kitchen. Sitting, I should add, with this man she had been dating. I’m sitting there, panicking, when I smell something. It smells like cigarettes and something fresh (cigarettes are an easy scent to identify). I smell it, and for one reason?? Become really infatuated with the smell? Like I actually started breathing so deep and loud that my next memory is of my mom asking me why I’m “panting behind the couch, you are not a dog”. I also remember feeling really hot and my hands were tingly, idk.

Of course, in my panic and subsequent grounding I forgot all about it. Fast forward to high school junior year. (About 10 years later) And I’m fresh out of the hospital for an ED (again), and have gone to spraying myself with bath and body works body spray to cover up the scent of (tw: emetophobia) vomit . I was currently out of mine so my mom let me borrow hers. Sea Island Cotton.

Not enough to trigger the memory, yet.

Fast forward to lunch where I see Hayden. A boy I met my freshman year who was crude, and kind, and not really someone I usually hung out with. He once took a picture of me and told me I was going to be a model someday (kind) and then said someone would probably masturbate to my picture in a magazine (crude). I hadn’t seen him since last year and in my surprise to see home I ran up and hugged him. (Not at all something I would I would usually do, might I add.)

He smells like cigarettes.

Immediately the memory resurfaces.

I pull back, blushing furiously at both the hug and the memory. And you know what Hayden says?

“Yep. You’re still the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen.”

When I say, to this day, when I’m struggling with my ED I think of this moment. Maybe it’s shallow and stupid to say that someone finding me attractive helped with my ED (helped didn’t cure). But it did.

I never saw him again. Literally ever, after that day. I don’t smoke anymore and I don’t use bath and body works spray anymore. But I keep a few cigarettes and an old bottle of the spray. And when I need comfort or am insecure in my body I spritz myself and light up.

I think about Hayden often. I really hope he’s okay, and I hope that if he thinks of me , he thinks of me fondly.

This isn't shameful at all and in fact I'm really glad you had that moment ❣️

YAYYYY okay I'm gonna like. dump a whole bunch of stuff that bestie @blackmarketjoy and I have been thinking about and working on and stick it under the cut BUT a little amuse-bouche: I'm currently workshopping a goodomens fan-minisode fic Thing that's set in the 1910s where Crowley is disguised as a live-in maid tempting Some Rich Guy into greed and financial ruin with her demonic wiles and sexy ankles, and Aziraphale is disguised as a war nurse who's been quartered in the same Fancy Rich House with some wounded soldiers under her care because you could just do that sort of thing back then. It's a liiiittle Nanny Ashtoreth/Brother Francis-esque but not quite as pre-planned. Okay that's enough to get you goin here's all the extra nonsense (as Aziraphale and Crowley are both presenting as women in this Thing, she/her pronouns will be used for both throughout):

This whole concept actually originated from a DREAM I had that included Crowley in a vintage nurse's uniform because if I am known for anything it is my ability to be happy, big, and sexually normal. My friend Mifs then was like Oh what if Aziraphale was in a vintage maid uniform lol and that festered in my mind for a while. We ended up switching the roles around because it makes more sense with the timeline (since Az would have her bookshop by this time period and typically isn't wont to leave it for too long unless there's an extenuating circumstance) and is generally more in-character for Aziraphale to have the Helping People role.

As I've said before on this blog, I think it's Easy and therefore boring to reduce Crowley's skill of "temptation" to something purely sexual, especially when she's in girlmode. This isn't to say she's completely nonsexual in this fic thing, it's more fun for me if she isn't, but she's not specifically aiming to, idk, "inspire lust" or whatever. She's merely, idk, convincing this Rich Guy to make extremely bad investments while sitting in his lap or something, AND to reveal how much of an asshole this guy is. I don't know what the hell people invested in in the 1910s but I'm sure she'd pick something absolutely disastrous. Maybe she knew about the upcoming Great Depression

Meanwhile I think Aziraphale is here by complete accident, mostly bc I think it's funny when the universe pushes them together. Also because I'm imagining some sort of "Ugh, you again. What are YOU doing here?" "ME? I'm saving LIVES. I should be asking what YOU'RE doing here, foul serpent" interaction and I love it when women argue because they want to fuck each other

This whole thing is set during the winter because that gives Lots and lots and lots of opportunities for huddling for warmth, hand-holding, dramatic fireplace lighting, etc.

^ Related to huddling for warmth, I think Aziraphale (a little bit too excitedly) offers to room up with Crowley in idk, The Help's Quarters or whatever and they end up sharing a bedroom. Hayden idk if I've told u this but in the book Crowley sleeps despite not needing to (I don't Think this is ever mentioned in the show but like if a book thing isn't directly contrasted by a show thing it's canon to me) while Aziraphale doesn't, so I'm kinda just imagining Az spends all night reading while Crowley sleeps. But since it's cold as fuck Az eventually starts to like. read in bed under the covers while Crowley spoons her "for warmth." Also I know they don't Need light to see but I keep imagining Az summoning some kind of Holy Light to read by (maybe it's just one of the little human preferences they develop over time) and Crowley bitching about how bright it is and kinda pushing her face into Az's neck or shoulder "to cover her eyes." Yuri

Going back to some of the Rich Asshole Guy stuff. I think he's like, creepy and pervy and does a lot of Leering at both Az and Crowley, but is especially bad with Crowley since like "she's leading him on" or whatever. Both the Job minisode and the Edinburgh minisode can pretty easily be described as including some kind of "lesson" (almost always for Aziraphale) and I think it'd be fun to do a version of that where unfairly GOOD things (material wealth) are given to a BAD person, rather than the standard opposite. Ultimately the story would end with Rich Asshole Guy making some kind of unwanted advance and Crowley, having successfully driven him to ruin via his own greed, takes off her glasses and shows her eyes (I imagine he's asked her repeatedly to show her eyes, yknow in a You'd Be Prettier If You Smiled sort of way) and hisses and etc., Putting The Fear Of God in him before she and Az leave. Az could, idk, smite the guy or something too he'd deserve it

I think Az is like veeeery repressed sexually, somehow even moreso in girlmode than she is in guymode, and since Crowley is being Vaguely Sexy it's just the perfect yuri storm. Hayden u already saw the snippet I wrote about this but I'll recount it here anyway: Az pulls some like weird pseudo-victim blamey stuff on Crowley like "I don't know why you're surprised that he tries to look up your skirt, I don't know what you expected, pulling it up that high" bc she's working thru some stuff okay and that's the only way she can process the fact that she notices how much leg Crowley is showing at any given time. She knows better obviously and will admit as much it's just that divinity is a performance, yknow, and she's still trying to pretend to be dedicated to that.

IIIII keep imagining something with like Az smuggling human food and Crowley smuggling human alcohol and they have a little yuri dinner in like the courtyard or something, and Crowley gets to tease Aziraphale for stealing. And then Mifs added onto it this is All their ideas but it's really good so I'm paraphrasing it here: 1) Aziraphale gets sick of eating shitty watery period-accurate Soup For The Poor and decides to finally do something about it 2) since Crowley is a maid she'd have more access to the kitchen and leftover food and etc and since Aziraphale is a nurse she'd have more access to idk wherever rich people put alcohol because it's the 1910s and medicine is fake. So it's like them stealing bits and pieces away for each other yknow... themes

I think Some Rich Guy (who needs a name I'm very open to name ideas for all these side characters) should have kids so Crowley can kinda subtly turn them against him because idk, "honor your father and mother" is a Commandment and all that and therefore not doing so is A Sin even if your dad's a dick (Aziraphale can have a little Moment about this, I love putting her through Moments). I'm imagining this less in like a proactive Nanny Ashtoreth way (Hayden I know u haven't seen the show but Crowley's purpose as Nanny Ashtoreth is to instill as much evil into the child they believe is the antichrist as possible) and more in a "purposefully turning a blind eye and letting kids 'misbehave'" sort of way.

"Why doesn't Aziraphale just miracle her soldiers' wounds better" because she wants to spend as much time with Crowley as possible and she's enjoying the maid/nurse roleplay. Obviously. (When Crowley asks her about this she lies through her teeth, of course)

Another idea from Mifs I'm just gonna stick in here: Az has some kind of crisis because one of her soldiers is getting worse and Crowley has to calm her down about it. Shoulder grabbing, face grabbing, eye contact, hand-holding, etc. Very very psychosexual for them both. Also Crowley ends up doing something to help the dying guy, filling her Niceys quota for the minisode (but she's NOT nice! She's mean and she means it!)

OH working title for this courtesy of Mifs is "Of Lace and Lacerations" which I LOVE. Currently the Google doc I write all my ideas on is called "you like kissing girls don't you"

Idk how explicitly romantic (and possibly even sexual) this Thing is going to be, like the romantic tension is obviously obviously there but idk if there'll be kissing. I need to think on how "canon-compliant" I want this all to be (as romantic tension is very canon-compliant but explicit kissing and etc. is not so much). I've been thinking about a bonus feature at the end that's just nasty woman sex so stay tuned for that

You're incredibly sweet hfkdfd no it's all right, it was in good humor of them, it was joking around, and it's not common knowledge that I get badly hurt by that exact kind of joking specifically in my activity feed, so I'm not angry in that sense. Just needed to make sure that people knew not to do it again lest I have to get out the soft block :)

The fun thing about Pegging and Blowjob is that there's a lot up for interpretation there. Really all we know is that Leo was BJ's best man, so they got married after college—which I know doesn't narrow it down because they were probably not eloping in high school pfft.

My personal lore for them is that they were high school sweethearts after the Haydens were displaced from their farm in Oklahoma during the Dust Bowl and moved to California. I love putting the start of their relationship in that timeframe because there is no doubt in my mind that they share a strong element of codependency and Beej struggles with the idea that one day she might not be a part of his identity. Falling in love with someone before you're fully aware of who you are as a living breathing adult person lends itself to that. It allows me to dig into BJ developing a sense of self outside of her while in the war—Peg does so as well, of course, but she takes to it better—him balking when he realizes he has and trying to stumble back toward his familiar prewar lifeline, and then I get to give them a postwar journey of figuring out what it looks like when you realize that the current situation—a la BJ trying so hard to reverse the motorcycle back to who they were prewar—is untenable. Something has to change. I simply choose to write the change as something other than a break.

That being said! Since I write them as being long-distance in college while they attend separate universities, I have them get married between college and med school because they are SICK of this shit, that is my Soulmate, I will Live With Them Now. So you have to figure out what year you think Beej arrives in Korea—'51 or '52—and go from there. I typically have him arrive in '51 since he spends such a long period of time there seasons-wise. That means I usually have them getting married in May 1945! I think it happening during such a tumultuous but also celebratory time, both personally for them and for the US in general, suits them.

“Ma can Hayden come over?” Athena asked plopping down on the kitchen island as Y/n cut up some fruits for dessert. “Who’s that?” Jack asked walking into the kitchen. “A friend,” Athena mumbled as he raised an eyebrow. “Girl or boy?” He questioned going behind Y/n and resting his chin on top of her head. “Why would it be a girl?” She questioned as Jack popped a grape into his mouth. “Why would it be a boy?” He replied as she huffed. “How come we’ve never heard of him before?” Y/n asked softly, as Jack hummed in agreement. “I don’t know, we’ve been friends for a couple of years.” He replied as Jack raised an eyebrow. “You’re not dating him, right?” He asked as Athena stayed silent for a couple of seconds. “Athena?” He spoke turning around to face her. “Yeah?” She questioned looking at him as he tried not to smile at her confused expression. “I asked if you were dating him.” He repeated as she shook her head. “Yeah he can come, sweetheart,” Y/n answered as Jack huffed. “Send me his parent's numbers, ‘cause I swear if that kid tries anything, his ass is getting taken back home,” Jack muttered as Y/n laughed at him. “I’m not joking, so you better send me their numbers.” He mumbled as Athena sighed. “Send them later, baby. Eat this first,” Y/n handed her a bowl of fruits, placing a kiss on her head. “Thank you,” she whispered as Jack grabbed a bowl for himself and sat down next to her. “No growing up, got it?” He put his pinky out as Athena intertwined her pinky with his. “No growing up,” she repeated, leaning her head on his shoulder as he smiled sadly.
