Where is Seph in your au? Is he still crazy about Cloud? Is he crazy about Zack and Cloud? Or Zack living just negated everything and now he is not crazy at all and he like... opens a bakery or something

NUBE!!!! HI!!!! THIS IS SOMETHING IVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT. but i haven't decided yet.... on one hand, i love sephiroth and i want him to be happyyyyehfghdsj 😭 on the other hand, Sephiroth is obviously an important part of the story and taking him out as a villain would cause a big affect on it

I'm gonna use this ask as a drawing board here to write down some ideas. My first thought is that Zack could be the one with the sephiroth pilled brain. and there are two main ways i see him reacting to it. With #1 being the ignorer. He doesn't tell anyone and keeps it to himself, knowing how badly cloud and tifa were affected and feeling like the way hearing about what he's experiencing would affect them much worse than him dealing with it himself

And Idea two: Sephiroth would work as an in-universe representation of Zacks guilt over Angeal, genesis, and Sephiroth. His presence in visions would be not just a real thing happening, but story-wise it'd be able to help show visually how much Zack is struggling under the weight of his trauma

Redeeming Sephiroth could be an interesting arc, but this is post nibelheim, and he's sort of under Jenovas grip right now, already having abandoned most of himself into the lifestream. Is there anything left to be redeemed? And also...

its probably not a task to be done with tifa and clouds involvement.

we could go with the og story and have him haunting Cloud. who is also a chronic ignorer

Really the route this au goes depends on how much I change from the og story from this point onward.. to be honest I've only figured out zack and clouds recovery, I'm still shuffling through the main story events, though I'm thinking I'm gonna rewatch a gameplay on rebirth part 1 and take notes on what I think would change if zack was there (in place of cloud at some parts)

maybe sephiroth brings all of himself back from the lifestream and opens a bakery far away from everyone else and works through his issues and his guilt away from the cast... but that'd be hard to show in my aus story.

SOLDIER Vlogging Shenanigans Pt. 44

[The camera flickers on, revealing Zack sitting in a circle of his tired-looking friends—Sephiroth, Angeal, and Genesis—on the floor of the break room. Zack grins from ear to ear]

We're gonna play spin the bottle!” Zack says. “And we're all excited, aren't we, guys?”

[A chorus of unenthusiastic no’s and a singular “I was forced to be be here” from Sephiroth follows]

Zack nods. “Great! Since we're all on board—” He pulls out the bottle and places it in the middle— “Sephiroth, you go first!”

[The camera is pointed backwards at Sephiroth. Sephiroth looks directly into the camera]

“Help me.”

[Zack groans and zooms out, fitting himself into the frame]

“Don't be a sore sport. Cooperate! It's Valentine’s day! Besides, you can kiss whoever it lands on on the cheek.”

[The camera focuses on Sephiroth again, who sighs before taking a tentative spin at the glass. The bottle whirls around before coming to a stop, pointing directly at Angeal, who deadpans]

“You have got to be kidding me,” Angeal groans.

“Alright, buddy, brace yourself for some love! Sephiroth, kiss him!”

[Sephiroth sighs, then leans in before Angeal can argue. He plants a gentle kiss on Angeal's cheek. Angeal, in turn, scoffs and wipes his cheek]

"There you go! Not so bad, right?” Zack gives the camera a thumbs up. “Now's my turn!”

[Zack gives the camera to Sephiroth, who holds it awkwardly before clumsily filming Zack spinning the bottle. They all wait with bated breaths as the bottle slows, then points directly at Genesis]

“How lucky am I?” Genesis leans back, tapping the floor pensively. “Just a few questions before I allow your lips anywhere near my face.”

“Shoot,” Zack replies.

“Spin the bottle was your idea, correct?”

“Correct!”

“And you would do anything for this vlog of yours, correct?”

[Sephiroth moves the camera back and forth between them]

“Correct!”

“And it's Valentine's day, so it's all in good fun and no one can get mad at each other, Correct?”

“Correct!”

[Genesis smirks mischievously, offering Zack his cheek for a kiss. However, just as Zack leans in, Genesis swiftly moves, grabbing the bottle and breaking it over Zack's head]

[The room erupts into laughter as Zack gapes in shock. Sephiroth shakily veers the camera backwards to film himself]

“In a perfect world, Zack would not tolerate such disrespect, and would seek revenge immediately.”

[The video cuts out]

[The next video starts with a shaky, blurry image as Sephiroth desperately tries to focus the camera. Screaming is heard in the background]

“IF YOU EVER TRY THAT AGAIN I'LL SHOVE YOUR BOOK RIGHT UP YOUR—”

“ZACK, ENOUGH!” Angeal's voice screams.

Zack ignores him. “THEY’LL SOONER FIND THE TALENT YOU DON'T HAVE BEFORE THEY FIND THE REST OF YOUR BODY!”

[Zack is seen trying to lunge at Genesis with a broken piece of the bottle, while Angeal struggles to restrain him. Genesis has a broomstick—that he was probably using to sweep up the glass—as a weapon of self defense and is screaming at Zack while waving at him]

“COME AT ME,” Zack screams. “TOUCH ME AGAIN AND I'LL MAKE SURE THE TITLE OF YOUR EULOGY IS CALLED LIFELESS!”

[Sephiroth pans the camera at himself briefly]

“In a perfect world, my mother would come back and—”

[He ducks as Zack throws a piece of glass at his head]

[The video ends]

Zack having gone so long with no one to turn to, being the one who people rely on, having to fix everyone else's mess himself for so long and now, it isn't that he doesn't believe in asking for help, but he just doesn't know how to anymore.

Zack shouldering everything alone even when he doesn't have to because he's been doing it for so long he doesn't know how to stop.

Zack: *walks in* hey Spi- oh buddy, what's wrong? Was it your squad being mean? Was it a puppy being cute? Was it GENESIS DOING BOTH?! *sobbing* Was it a tiny pigeon trying to hop to the nearest crumb?!?! 

Cloud: What? No, it's an onion…

 Zack: I KNOW, RIGHT *sobbing* IT'S SO SAD WHEN UNIONS DON'T GET COMPANIES TO BACK DOWN 😭😭😭 *glomping Cloud* 

Genesis: What's all the ruckus? 

Zack: *rocking Cloud back and forth* I'll protect you, Spiky! 

Cloud: I WAS CUTTING AN ONION

Genesis: *smirks* OH MY DARLING BOYS! Weep not, for your hero is here! Come here, under my wings, my doves! 

Cloud: Eep! *gets squished*

Zack: 😭 

Sephiroth: What is happening? Oh, are we smothering Cloud? 

Cloud: h e l p 

Sephiroth: Shhh, shhh, your tears are fruitless.

Cloud: AND YOUR DINNER IS GOING TO BE VEGETABLE-LESS

Angeal: *comes back from the store* What on earth...? 

Cloud: *being squished to death with love*

Angeal: Let me guess, Zack saw you crying from cutting up onions, burst into tears, and attracted a malicious Genesis and touch-starved Seph to cuddle you? 

Cloud: I tried. I really tried to cut the veggies. 

Angeal: I'm sure you did. Rest in peace.

Cloud: NO! ANGEAL YOU WERE MY ONLY HOPE!
