High Note
Kara checks her cell phone and sighs, relieved to see a text from Lena stating that she’ll be home soon. It seems she’s finally taken Kara’s advice to finish up early for once. Lena had messaged her throughout the day, stressed and upset about an important deal falling through, and Kara has been worrying about her all afternoon—praying that Lena would just come home and let her take good care of her.
She places an order with Lena’s favorite chinese restaurant for later before busying herself with preparing a bath. Kara uses her nicest lavender oils and even lights a few candles, switching the bathroom light off as she allows the flames to cast a soothing glow around the room.
Kara may not be able to undo the bad parts of Lena’s day, but she can try her hardest to ensure it ends on a much higher note.
She strips out of her clothes and throws them into the hamper—”Kobe!”—before grabbing the silk robe from the closet that Kara stole from Lena many months ago. It’s wonderfully soft against her skin, loose enough to be comfortable, and she enjoys feeling a wee bit classier as she heads into the kitchen and pours two glasses of red wine, setting them both aside to breathe as she waits for Lena to return.
Thankfully, it’s not a long wait, Kara always much too anxious to see Lena after a long day apart.
Kara smiles when she hears Lena’s keys in the door, but it falls from her face when she catches sight of her. Lena looks exhausted and her brows are tightly pinched together, red painted lips pull downwards into a devastating frown.
It makes Kara’s heart ache and she holds her arms out for Lena to sink into as soon as the door is kicked closed behind her. She all but falls into them, her chin resting on Kara’s shoulder as she takes a moment to just breathe; clearly relieved that her nightmare day is finally over.
“It’s okay, baby,” Kara murmurs, placing a kiss to soft hair, “you’re home now. I’ve got you.”

It's really beautiful today. My financial worries have abated and I got ten pages of writing done. Chapter two of See him coming, my Blacklist Jim Bae/Joe fanfiction may be posted by the end of the week and Chapter three is coming up behind it. A nice note to reach the end of May with.

Markihighnotean:
A gender related to Markiplier’s high note at the end of the song FNAF the musical; Night 4. (“Why’s my closet making pirate sounds?”)
Note: I am aware that this flag is the -soundic template but I think it works
[ID: one flag with six visible, evenly sized, horizontal lines. Over top, in the center, are three sharply jagged lines. Color order of horizontal lines are: dark brown, lighter desaturated tan, very light desaturated tan. Then the bottom three lines are the same colors just in the opposite order. Song Review: Dierks Bentley feat. Billy Strings - “High Note”
Thank goodness for the acoustic jam on the back half of “High Note,” because the song proper is one of the stupidest things ever written about pot.
The latest Dierks Bentley single features Billy Strings on guitar and vocals and instrumental appearances from Sam Bush, Bryan Sutton, Jerry Douglas and Charlie Worsham.
The song itself is an electrified country-rocker with lyrics about goin’ out on a high note/a blaze of glory lit in my left hand/like a tenor in an old hillbilly band.
If it ended at the three-minute mark - which is tough to make it to - “High Note” would be a total loss. But at this point, the electric guitar is unplugged and the sextet get to jamming; the following 2:45 is a, pardon the pun, highlight - no matter the listener’s sobriety level.
It should be a stand-alone instrumental.

Dierks Bentley - Gravel & Gold
So today on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I would like to talk about the latest album from Country Music Superstar Dierks Bentley. His new project is titled "Gravel & Gold" and was released on Friday February 24th, 2023. But before we dive into the new Cd, let's talk a little bit about the career of Dierks so far.
Dierks has had a lot of success on the Country Music Charts with such hits like "Drunk on a plane", "What was I thinkin'", & "Beers on me" with his buddies Hardy & Breland. Other hits from Dierks are songs like "5-1-5-0", "Somewhere on a beach", & "I hold on". Dierks has scored 7 number ones on my weekly list. My weekly list is called MSR (Midnight Star Report), which combines both CMT (Country Music Television), the Billboard Country Music Airplay Charts, & even myself. And the list also used to include GAC (Great American Country) until the list retired at the end of 2018. But let's get back to this new 14 track album before we dive too far off track.
Dierks co-wrote 10 out of 14 tracks with some co-writting help from Michael Hardy (Hardy), & Charlie Worsham. The lead single from the project is titled "Gold" which is almost a top 10 hit on the Billboard Country Music Airplay Charts as we speak. And that song mentions the title of the album, and probably one of his singles from the project will be "Same ol' me". Other songs you should check out are "Heartbreak drinking tour", "Still", & "All the right places". The stand out track in my opinion is titled "Something real" and you should also check out his tracks with Ashley McBryde titled "Cowboy boots", & "High note" featuring Billy Strings. Here is the rest of the track list now.
Track list.
Same ol' me.
Sun sets in Colorado.
Heartbreak drinking tour.
Something real.
Still.
Beer at my funeral.
Cowboy boots (Featuring Ashley McBryde).
Gold.
Walking each other home.
Roll on.
All the right places.
Ain't all bad.
Old pickup.
High note (Featuring Billy Strings).
And that's a wrap for the track list. And on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I would give this album a 5 out of 5 stars. Dierks has really upped his game and is a regular on the top of the Country Music Charts for obvious reasons. There were a lot of tracks to talk about on this new CD. And so I rewarded him a 5 out of 5 stars. Thanks for taking the time to read this review. See ya all next time.

It's ok if your day doesn't have any high notes. Because at the end of the day, whether there are just high notes, just low notes, or a mix of both, no matter what notes there are they will always form into a beautiful melody. Whether it's a sad one, a happy one, or any other, it's up to you but remember, every song is unique and different, and there are people out there who could one day love your melodies, with no care for whether it's low or high. Because it's beautiful, you're beautiful, just the way you are.
