V-force Hiromi thank you for being the icon ever, being chaotic and silly (esp that punch like yas gurl throw hands!! <3) like the others while being the mom friend of the group and doing an actual good job at consoling Takao/keeping him in line while being mature about his feelings too, being a therapist to Kai and many more moments. She's basically the emotional stability the gang lacked previously. And lets not forget the boat scene in the movie when Daichi was telling Hiromi about how his dad died and why he was hell bent on beating Takao, her response was that of understanding as she got where Daichi was coming from as a kid who was trying to fullfill his father's last wish, that was very sweet of her ngl (Takao's response to Daichi's revelation was sweet too, in his own way. I might make another post on that. Personally I prefer their dynamic in the movie than in G-revolution tbh. Also the idea if the team randomly adopting a tiny homeless redheaded gremlin is wayy funnier, like "oh, he's not gonna leave us be, and he doesnt have a home to go back to, guess he's staying with us now huh. poppy ✦ do you have lore surrounding your s/i, or is your s/i more or less just there to project on with your f/o(s)?

it depends on the s/i or oc, since i have several, but i'll give you a brief description of each of the main ones under the cut.

mana: makoto amagi was born with a sixth sense. she's always had the ability to see small glimpses of the future, tell when someone is lying, and hear... not exactly ghosts, but fragments of people's souls that they leave behind when they die. due to this, she was always treated as gifted by the adults in her life, though this also meant she found it difficult to relate to her peers. however, her connection to the realm beyond proved to be a curse, slowly eroding her physical body and leaving her bedridden by age 10, forcing her parents to pull her out of school. she died by the age of 13, but that same curse tethered her consciousness to the mortal realm and prevented her from fully passing on, forcing her to become a ghost (or, more specifically, a yūrei) and adopt the name mana.

around that time, she met masaru fuzaki, a powerful sorcerer of the esteemed fuzaki bloodline who chose to forsake his family name and live a humble life as an apothecary in the forest. masaru took pity on the young ghost and decided to make her his familiar, allowing her to take residence in his attic and vowing to find a way to bring her back to life, all the while selling potions and enchantments and occasionally taking commissions to slay monsters in order to support them both. mana spends the majority of her time eating, sleeping, playing video games, and watching anime and youtube videos because it takes her a significant amount of energy just to maintain a corporeal form, let alone do much else, but she does make herself useful to masaru from time to time by foraging for ingredients for his elixirs or using her gift of foresight to aid him in combat.

mana is a tsundere, making a point of insisting that she's scary, not cute, and getting flustered and pouty at the slightest hint of physical or verbal affection, but she's also rather cheeky and mischievous, often playing pranks or attempting to scare masaru, though no matter how hard she tries, he remains largely unfazed.

i use mana as a vtubersona and a hololive and nijisanji self-insert. i do ship her romantically with masaru, but when it comes to the ships between her and other vtubers (namely gawr gura, pomu rainpuff, ike eveland, elira pendora, and a few others), i may disregard or alter parts of her lore in order to be more in line with theirs or even scrap it altogether in favor of saying, “she's a ghost and they work for the same company. that's all you need to know.”

please keep in mind that when i talk about my vtuber f/os, i'm referring to the characters and not the people behind the screen.

rimi: rimi sonozaki is a responsible, yet rebellious 16-year-old girl who likes skateboarding, singing, playing the guitar, and punk, emo, and street fashion. her mom is the typical strict single asian parent who disapproves of her daughter's interests and has unreasonably high expectations for her. compared to mana, her lore isn't particularly deep.

i use rimi as a sk8 the infinity, persona 5 (+ strikers), skip to loafer, and naka no hito genome self-insert and ship her romantically with reki kyan, langa hasegawa, miya chinen, kojirou nanjo, kaoru sakurayashiki, akira kurusu, ryuuji sakamoto, ann takamaki, narumi kanechika, anya kudou, and yuzu roromori. she's also friends with makoto niijima, yuusuke kitagawa, haru okumura, yuuki mishima, sophia, mitsumi iwakura, yuzuki murashige, mika egashira, makoto kurume, akatsuki iride, and himiko inaba, and has a crush on sousuke shima. in addition, she sees hiromi higa, sojiro sakura, zenkichi hasegawa, and nao iwakura as familial/guardian-like figures, though she isn't actually related to them.

in persona 5, rimi is a persona user of the temperance arcana. her code name is vandal and her phantom thief attire resembles a graffiti artist with a gas mask. she wields a hunting knife as a melee weapon and dual smgs as a ranged weapon. she can also throw colorful smoke bombs or firecrackers to create a diversion. however, i haven't decided on an actual persona for her yet.

in skip to loafer, rimi is a member of the drama club.

in naka no hito genome, rimi is a streamer who specializes in gacha games.

vivi: vivi is a 14-year-old gym leader from aurea (my fanmade pokémon region based on italy) who specializes in ghost types. both of their parents died one right after the other when vivi was very young, and as a result, a lot of nasty rumors began to spread throughout their hometown that they were somehow responsible due to how scary and offputting they appeared on the surface, leading them to become a shut-in and turn to video games as a form of escapism. they met their first pokémon, a shiny mimikyu, at the cemetery whilst visiting their parents' graves. eventually, they grew tired of hiding from the world and applied for an international scholarship to uva academy in paldea.

i use vivi as a pokémon violet self-insert and ship them romantically with arven and queerplatonically with nemona, penny, and giacomo. in addition, they see director clavell and mr. hassel as fatherly figures of sorts and eri as an older sister figure.

penny: penelope "penny" st. ives is a laid-back, tomboyish, and slightly reckless steampunk inventor/engineer/mechanic who uses guns and explosives in lieu of magic. her lore is pretty much nonexistent beyond that.

i use penny as a devil may cry 5 and tensei shitara slime datta ken oc and and ship her romantically with dante, vergil, and veldora tempest and queerplatonically with nero, rimuru tempest, and milim nava.

in devil may cry 5, penny replaces nico goldstein as the person who drives the van and makes nero's devil breakers.

sam: sam warner, a.k.a. sam the hunter, is a transmasc vigilante of sorts who kills bigots and politicians, but i haven't quite figured out his full lore yet.

i use sam as a creepypasta (slender mansion au) oc and ship him romantically with ticci toby and queerplatonically with nina the killer. additionally, he sees masky as an older brother figure and sally williams as a little sister figure and is also friends with ben drowned, homicidal liu, and kate the chaser, but doesn't get along with jeff the killer.

skye: skylar "skye" mitchell is a very optimistic, albeit naïve girl fresh out of high school who landed her first job as a daytime security guard at the mega pizzaplex and wants nothing more than to be besties with all of her coworkers. she's extremely strong, having done both gymnastics and jiu-jitsu when she was younger, but despite this, she dreams of going into the beauty industry one day, and thus, takes great care of her appearance, tying her hair up in all manner of intricate ways and painting her nails all manner of fun colors and patterns. she's pretty good with kids due to having experience babysitting her younger cousins and second cousins, but she has no desire to have any biological kids of her own. she also has a very tiktok sense of humor and uses a lot of gen z slang, which makes vanessa feel extremely out of touch.

i use skye as a five nights at freddy's: security breach (human performer au) oc and ship her queerplatonically with both of the daycare attendants. she's also friends with glamrock chica and dj music man, has a small crush on glamrock freddy, and looks up to vanessa in spite of the fact that vanessa finds her annoying.

while mana has the most complex lore by far, i'd say she's the character whose experiences and personality most closely mirror mine (gifted kid burnout, feeling depressed/isolated after having to be pulled out of school, etc.), but most, if not all of my ocs share certain traits (being autistic, biromantic, trans or nonbinary, having a sweet tooth, and liking video games, anime, music, plushies, and/or alt fashion).

i also use futaba sakura, lumine, hu tao, freminet, millie parfait, and a few other canon characters as self-inserts because i kin them.

this is a difficult question to answer because again, i have several s/is and ocs across several different sources, i don't have all the details of all of their stories worked out yet, and most of what i write takes place after the relationship has already been established.

Meet Hiromi Namikaze 洋美,波風 (hiro-mi, means beautiful ocean, Namikaze means waves and wind) the mother of Minato and grandmother of Naruto, great grandma of Himawari and Boruto, Menma and Enkai (SNS orochimaru test tube babies) . She is 40 years old here and at the start of Naruto's birth , 51 at the end, and 54-57 is at the end of shippuden, 57- 60 during the last, during the start of boruto she is 68. During timeskip boruto era she is 69-73. This is when she dies.

Her birthday is February 3rd.

In this image she is going crazy with rage at hearing how Minato died and fell in battle fighting the Kyuubi. Her face is disfigured as a result of being taken down to third class in Kiri all those years ago. The purple chains are meant to show her mental state, starting to snap for the second time, while her eyes glow purple and emit purple streaks in her rage.

She is from the Land of the Sea (海の国, Umi no Kuni) which is where the name Namikaze originates and lives on the main island Hahajima, after moving back at 16, while pregnant with Minato, due to the insistance of her lover and Usagi her older sister, wanting a better life for the baby. She resents her father for dying and making them third class, including Kirigakure for the system itself and has no complaints about leaving. She shortly retires before leaving, having been a hunter nin for most of her life.

Her retired ninja class was Special Jounin level, though she was a hunter nin.

She moved to Kirigakure at the age of 7, with her aunt Usagi (Typhoon, of the waves and wind) who was born in Kiri, raised by their father their as well, who was at that time was a Jounin. Her father originally came from Kirigakure, he died during a accident in an B ranked mission when she was 10. Her mother hailed from the land of the ocean and was a civilian medic, they met when her father was on a mission request.

As then a member of the 1st class, highest class in the bloody mist village's heriarchy status, she didn't have to kill her classmates in order to graduate (as according to novel canon), until after her father died 3 years later.

She enrolled in the Academy at the age of 7, graduated at age 10.

Was promoted to Genin, showed remarkable prowess among the battle field. Until her father died, she was getting C and D ranked missions, they steadily climbed up to B ranked when she was 12, remaining at that level for half a year before skyrocketing to an A ranked mission that she had almost died if it had not been for a generous Konoha ninja, named Tamashi Uzumaki, who saved her with his medical and finjutsu abilities, putting her cells into statis and triggering cellular regeneration using his scroll of stolen stored chakra.

A year after recovery with Tamashi, in hiding, she goes back to the hidden mist, where she partakes in the chunin exams ranking up to Chunin at age 13. During this time she hones medical skills and her wind style : cutting edge jutsu, including her sensory perception which is prominent throughout her mother's lineage as select Namikaze have and had renowned sensory perception, due to many attacks on their island, the family honed in on being able to sense each members chakra signal, which then led to the levels of chakra perception Minato has, though some were able to tell right away who's chakra was who's.

After 4/5 years as a chunin she once again is begrudgingly promoted to Jounin and enrolled in the hunter nin program, gaining her own mask and uniform. While this went on, she was dating a few women and men,though could never find one who wasn't afraid of her ptsd induced outbursts and her insominac sleeping habits.

After about almost a year, she meets Tamashi again on a S ranked mission, with her team who is a distant descendant of the uzumaki clan, Juneichi Uzumaki, from Uzushio his 2 x great grandpa and a civilian family from Konoha. She knows Uzushio has been being targeted for years, though they have kept those away with their finjutsu barrier. Tamashi dyes his hair brown for this mission and grows a stache, but his red uzumaki eyes remain, with his porcelain freckled skin and sunkissed shoulders.

She slays her teammates to save his life, owing him a lifebond debt, though he cares not for it. Slowly they meet secretly, between journeys until they one night meet under the night sky and share their love, creating minato, who arrives a year later after their move back to her family home in Hahajima.

As she is only of Kiri blood relation and was not born their, Kiri lets her leave, due to her service as a hunter nin and her specialities because she knows some of their darker secrets they do not want getting out. She vows not to tell and is placed under a jutsu that shows up as a small dot on her shoulder that will kill her if certain phrases are uttered.

They attempt to blind her, and succeed partially, though Tamashi is able to restore some of her eyesight.

She meets naruto as a newborn and horrified by how much he truly looks like Minato, she leaves in tears stating she cannot bear to see his face, though secretly she has him stated to the heir of her fortune and family home.

My Review of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba

How did I get into this anime? Actually, I’ve had interest in seeing this before it even aired in Japan. It’s just that when it came to picking animes for the spring 2019 line-up, aside from the Fruits Basket reboot, I was literally all thumbs here. Not that they were all bad, they just didn’t hold a candle to the crazy fandom of Demon Slayer.

Tanjiro Kamado’s life is forever changed when his entire family is slaughtered by a demon. The only survivor of that massacare was Tanjiro’s little sister, Nezuko. However, Nezuko wound up turning into a demon after trying to save her mother and younger siblings. Even though she turned into a demon, she still recognizes Tanjiro as her brother and refuses to eat or have harm come to him. Nezuko is a rare demon as she doesn’t feast upon humans, but sleeps to regain energy. Plus, she is told to treat humans as if they were her own family. After all these events, Tanjiro vows to become a “Demon Slayer” to prevent anyone else going through what he and Nezuko went through. Not only that, but find a way to reverse Nezuko’s demonic state so she can be human again.

Along the way, Tanjiro teams up with two other demon slayers. One is Zenitsu, a coward who’s afraid of every little thing when he’s awake. When asleep, he can slice through some demon ass. And the other is Inosuke, a screaming, idiot that wears a boar head and wields two swords. And that’s all I’m gonna say here!

The show is called Demon Slayer, a show about slaying demons.

BETWEEN THE SUB AND THE DUB: As of picking this up, several platforms including Crunchyroll, FUNimation, and Aniplex have picked this up streaming wise. Not only that, but Aniplex worked their asses off to get a dub so that Toonami could air this. As I’m always a sucker for watching English dubs, I wound up going through the entire series thanks to Toonami. Aniplex dubs are notoriously good and this one is no exception. They even managed to make Zenitsu tolerable (which is no easy feat). And then there’s…Oh no!

Uh-oh, Screamy McYellsALot is in this anime! I repeat, Screamy McYellsALot is in the main God-damned cast to this anime!

Yeah, if you don’t know already, that’s my nickname for Bryce Papenbrook. I don’t hate him and he doesn’t have that doornail in your brain sound that irritates you like Japanese Asta on Black Clover. It’s just that when you hear him play Eren Yeager, Rin Okumura, and Kirito all at the same time and all three boys are prone to screaming like they’re covered in fire-ants…you’ll see what I mean. Although, there seems to be a lot of screaming from the main cast. Especially when Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu are fighting over something stupid! Here’s what you might recognize these folks from.

FAVORITE CHARACTER: Nezuko! Sweet little imouto! The cutest little sister the world has ever seen! Look at her run! She doesn’t even need to speak to be this cute. Her grunts are cute enough to make her second-best character of the series.

SHIPPING: I don’t believe there should be any kind of romance in this series. We’ve got more important issues at hand with demons on the loose. Especially a demon that resembles that of mid-80’s version Michael Jackson! So we don’t need a dorito-flavored head chasing skirts or lewding Nezuko…ZENITSU!

I’m sort of rooting for this. I’m just gonna read some spoilers and make sure this doesn’t end in tragedy.

Well, regardless of tragedy or not, I like this.

SO…IS THIS ANIMATION THE MOST SPECTACULAR THING EVER?!: I’m not arguing Studio ufotable can’t do great work. They are fucking masters with this craft. And even before episode 19, this animation was pretty damn good. That episode where Tanjiro is fighting Kyogai (the demon with the drums in his body) was one of the most spectacular anime fights I had ever seen. The movement of the characters alongside the twists and turns you get with the room shifting just grabbed me. Studio ufotable can surprise you with in-anime fighting and the fact that this was their first shounen anime where fight scenes are inevitable, they excelled.

Episode 19 was just…wow. Okay, I can’t be an asshole about this. I loved this episode. I loved the story, the animation was just superb, and watching all of these characters channel their family when at their breaking points was just…high praise all around!

WITH THAT SAID…Easily a top 5 in best animation of the 2010’s.

Boo me if you must, but I will not be mowed down by the Demon Slayer or Bust movement. Animes made before 2019 exist too, you know. And I’m still on Team Violet Evergarden, so freakin’ eat me!

ENDING: Throughout the series, we see Tanjiro fight and kill off a lot of demons. And unlike your standard demon that has no heart and no fleshed-out backstory, these demons were once humans and were manipulated into becoming demons to help them live a little longer. Many of them live with the regret of turning into a demon just to prolong their inevitable deaths. And one of those prominent deaths was Rui, the demon who created a whole family of spider demons. But dude wasn’t born a spider-demon! He was a weak child on the brink of death…

And then Kibutsuji came along…

Yes, this guy again! The one that looks like Michael Jackson! That powerful-ass demon who seems to pose as a normal human with a wife and child! The one responsible for slaughtering Tanjiro’s entire family and turning Nezuko into a demon! This fucking guy right here! But enough of Kibutsuji! The ones who took out Rui and the rest of the spider clan were the Demon Killing Corp. But now that they’re all taken care of, they have a few questions about why Tanjiro (a demon slayer) is traveling with a demon. So Tanjiro must answer himself to the Demon Killing Corp. I will now read off their names in hilarious fashion from right to left.

We have Snake-boy, Scarface, Who the fuck ‘members you, Insect-Bitch, Fire-Crotch, Pokemon stole this design for upcoming expansion package, Fushigi Yugi knockoff, I can’t be bothered with your shit, and finally Johnny Yong Bosch!

Thankfully, the leader of the demon slayers (Ubayashiki) told them that Tanjiro and Nezuko are special cases and are to not be harmed or prosecuted. We then spend the next several episodes watching Inosuke, Zenitsu, and Tanjiro go through some physical therapy if you will. So don’t expect to see a last-episode showdown with Kibutsuji. Although, that is not the last we will see of him in this series!

In the final episode, we get a flashback of what happened after Rui’s death. Kibutsuji kinda went on a bit of a violent rampage with his underlings and slaughtered a good chunk of them. But he spared one of these demons and by the looks of a certain movie trailer, we’re in for a good thriller on the train. So…

…

…What the crispy Jesus happened to Kibutsuji? When I see him dressed like a woman and THAT voice comes out, I’m thrown off that I couldn’t focus on him slaughtering his underlings. Damn!

Tanjiro and the others are all healed up and are ready to head out for their next mission. This time, they’re going to be traveling on a train with fellow demon slayer, Fire-crotch (real name: Kyoujurou Rengoku). On their tails is one of Kibutsuji’s men. Coming up, Demon Slayer – Mugen Infinity Train!

October 2020, maybe, we don’t know! COVID is a bitch!

I liked this series. Where do I even begin with this? First of all, the animation is phenomenal. Then again, we’re talking about ufotable! Despite this not being a part of the Type Moon family like Garden of Sinners or Fate, this was a wonderful breakout for ufotable to flex those infinity budget accounts. God, the fights with Kyogai and Rui were just phenomenal that I was just blown away with the animation. Definitely in the top 3 of best animation of the 2010’s! Yeah, I said top 3!

Next, the characters! Tanjiro seems to be a different kind of main lead in a shounen anime. When it comes to many main characters in Tanjiro’s position, you see them lead on a path of revenge because of what was taken from them. Yes, that’s a jab at Eren Yeager. Don’t at me! Tanjiro became a demon slayer to prevent anyone else to suffer the same way him and his sister did ever again and to hopefully one day return his sister to being a human. Not just that, but after slaying a demon he prays for their peace in the afterlife. He takes no joy in prancing around in their blood despite their many kill-counts.

Then we have the music! The BGM for each of the fights, all those special songs from episode 19, sheer perfection for a series like this! Then we have artist LiSA doing most of the songs heard. In the past decade, I was just okay with her music. I didn’t hate them or anything, I would just recognize her voice when she would sing for Angel Beats or Sword Art Online. But damn, 2019 was just her year!

I give my full recommendation for Demon Slayer. I have high hopes for this one as long as it continues to stay under the careful guidance of ufotable and Aniplex. And with the manga gearing up for a close, I hope for a graceful ending anime wise in the coming years.
