HistoryFun Facts:

Megan and Severus are eighteen at the time that they have Sedric. The two were just two teens in love, and just having turned eighteen, they wanted to celebrate them now being adults. During their excitement, the two forget any form of protection (wizardly or muggle) , the two not realizing until it was too late. Not wanting to lose or get rid of the baby, Megan decides to keep it. While Severus didn’t really like children, he didn’t want to upset Megan, so he just went with her decision. Megan’s parents on the other hand are at first furious, especially at Severus for getting their precious daughter pregnant at such a young age, which causes Megan to defend him, explaining to her parents that it was an accident. After enough convincing and seeing their daughter’s tears, her parents eventually calm down and come to terms that they would be grandparents, even if they would’ve preferred to not be this early in their daughter’s adult life.

With this in mind, Sedric grows up quite close to Hogwarts, the young boy either being babysat by Megan’s parents or Dumbledore. Megan and Severus would never know when Dumbledore would decide to babysit until they went to Albus’ office for something, only to see the old headmaster with their young boy bouncing happily on Dumbledore’s knee while playing with one of his toys.

With pretty much growing up in Hogwarts, from Dumbledore giving him tours around as a baby, to his parents teaching there once they finished up their student years; once it was time for Sedric to go to Hogwarts as a student, he would know the large school like the back of his hand. Due to his kindness, he would often guide first years around the school and any others lost in the large school.
