Viajes

Me encanta viajar sola. Cada vez que cuento de mis viajes en solitario hay personas que me miran con cara de pena (como si pensaran “pobrecita, no tiene amigos”) o con cara de temor, acompañada de exclamaciones tipo “¡que valiente!” (como si la soledad en sí fuera un peligro de muerte). Cuando añado que se trata de una elección consciente y disfrutada, entonces la expresión se transforma en incomprensión, casi desconcierto.

Lo que muchos/as desconocen es que, una vez superado el umbral del miedo a la soledad, al silencio y a la introspección, hay pocas compañías tan gratas como la de una/o misma/o. A menudo conmigo me divierto : observo, medito, leo, escribo, hago fotos, canto, me río de las cosas, pero sobre todo me proporciono esa libertad absoluta que solo yo sé darme. Doy rienda suelta a mi lado infantil, curioso, explorador.  Además estoy más receptiva, con todos los sentidos despiertos y más abierta a conocer otras personas, a las cuales, probablemente, si estuviera acompañada, no dedicaría tiempo y atención. Y así sucede la magia: se producen encuentros especiales y conexiones inesperadas. Como el de estas dos fotos: os presento a Yasmin, conocida en mi último viaje a Copenhague. Ella también viajaba sola.

Yas y yo nos conocimos en la calle, en un free tour, y luego, juntas, recorrimos las calles de la ciudad día y noche hasta llenarnos los pies de ampollas, comimos Snørrebrot, bebimos cerveza, visitamos calles burguesas y comunas hippies, torres, iglesias, plazas, barcos, bares, playas. Hablamos de nuestro pasado, de nuestro presente y de nuestras ilusiones de futuro, de amor, amistad, familia. Creo que una de las mayores mentiras del cine romántico sea la existencia de una alma gemela. No existe una sola, sino muchas almas afines, esparcidas por el mundo, y no tienen que ver con el amor romántico, ni con el género, ni con la edad, ni tampoco con la procedencia, sino más bien con el espíritu y el momento vital en el que te encuentras. Tendremos la suerte de reconocerlas, cuando las crucemos, solo si mantendremos los ojos y el alma suficientemente abiertos.
