The Rolling Stones - “Honky Tonk Women/You Can’t Always Get What You Want” (1969)
Fifty-five years ago today, on July 4, 1969, the single of “Honky Tonk Women” with the b-side of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” by The Rolling Stones was released in the UK. (A country version of the song, called “Country Honk,” was included on the album Let It Bleed.) Released the day after the death of founding member Brian Jones, the song would top the charts on both sides of the Atlantic. Both songs would go on to be counted among the band’s best songs, and both were included on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

Top 30 Countdown song #3: Honky Tonk Woman
I must say again these songs have been chosen by the way they make me smile personally Kinksters.
Allow me to tell you a quick tale Remember I mentioned dating only one musician? Well this song reminds me of a drummer / lead singer who had his beat thrown off one night by my swinging hips while they played this song. Eye contact giggling and a quick shrug of my attitude filled shoulders was all I needed for the pursuit to start.
Now the song itself...COWBELL COWBELL COWBELL!! No wonder I love this one so much. This is a coveted Double A side 45 with “You Cant Always Get What You Want” on the other side.
It is a blend of a little bit of every genre. It is Rock and Roll, Rock, Rockabilly, Country, Blues, Rhythm and Blues. I’m sure I’m missing a few more but because of its hybrid sound I do believe this is the most fun and crowd pleasing song of their entire catalog.
Aside from it being a song that I still love to shake my ass to. The second verse about the divorcee in New York City...Makes me grin wickedly every time I hear it. Honestly the lyrics are filthy and I like that most of all.

Finally, the next music video is done. Creating the band was the biggest challenge. The members in 1969 were: Mick Jagger, Bill Wyman, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, and Mick Taylor.
No band without groupies... Johanne did a great job with the three ladies in a 69th style. They were all excited to meet the Stones ;)
The outstanding film set comes from my friend Freddie: https://www.thesimsresource.com/artists/fredbrenny/
It's always a pleasure to work with her buildings. And what would my video be without all the wonderful CC creations.
I loved the clothes of https://ekinege-sims.tumblr.com/ and https://trillyke.tumblr.com/ for the girls.
My special Thank You goes to Birba32. I asked her for some pants and shirts and she worked that out for me. https://birba32.tumblr.com/
The hairstyles created by Anto, Wings, and MoooD were a big help to let the Stones look real. https://mooo-oood.tumblr.com/ + https://wingssims.tumblr.com/ + https://antosims.tumblr.com/
I really can't name all these awesome custom content creators. But be sure I'm so happy that you work out all these wonderful downloads for us ♥
But the biggest THANK YOU goes to my friend zoeyzuko. For sooo many years we know each other and our little „challenges“ are a big motivation to me. In former times we had our awesome SIFF film festival. Without a kind of time limit and a little pressure, it's hard for me to get something done. Here and there, Zoey and I choose a theme and a date, and we work side by side on a little video project.

I met a gin-soaked barroom queen in Memphis;
She tried to take me upstairs for a ride.
She had to heave me right across her shoulder,
‘Cause I just can’t seem to drink you off my mind.
In 1969, I bought this octagon shaped monster of a greatest hits record by The Rolling Stones. It contained a single that I played over and over. “Honky Tonk Woman”
