I know this is totally random coming from me and I won't explain any further than it's genuine curiosity. Please feel free to explain yourself if you want but it's not an obligation to do so.

every time people bring up that ghosts have to exist because there's no other explanation for some things.............. there are many explanations. and most of them are that the human brain has a huge capacity to see things that aren't there and make meaningless connections

wow. um. you know you’re traumatized when you see a tiktok of a mom surprising her daughter by being at her wedding dress fitting, and your first thought is “oh ABSOLUTELY not, FUCK that, that would be TERRIBLE.” like. the idea of my mom surprising me by showing up at a wedding dress fitting makes me upset and anxious and just sounds all-around awful. she would be intruding and overstepping her bounds and being presumptuous in that situation. it wouldn’t be cute or funny for me. it would just fucking suck.

Idk if anyone is interested in hearing this, but here’s a very important fact about martial arts:
Yes, some martial arts are more practical for self-defense than others.
No, there is not a single martial arts style that will instantly make you proficient at self defense.
It ultimately doesn’t matter which style of martial arts (or multiple styles) you decide to practice: no matter what, you’re going to need to practice for hours, constantly, in order to maintain your skills, and you’re never guaranteed to walk out of a fight healthy and in one piece. You need to practice, practice, practice, no matter what style you choose, because you’re not going to be able to defend yourself at all if all you do is take a couple self-defense classes and never practice again.

Do you ever have a fic idea and you really want to talk about it but you’re scared someone else will write it?
Tbh, not really? Most of the time, i post my fic ideas in the hopes someone will pick it up and write something based off it because i'm realistic about the likelihood of me actually writing a full fledged fic myself. i hardly ever do that so i can hardly begrudge someone for taking what i offered and making something of it, you know?
besides, unless they're outright plagiarizing (which would irritate the hell out of me, if someone just copied my post word for word), nobody ever writes about a concept the same as anyone else, so it's kind of fun to see how different people interpret the same idea.
but I will say that if I have an idea that i plan to write proper fic for, i have a couple of friends that i bounce it off of that i trust wouldn't go around sharing them or would ask for my go-ahead before posting anything. so my suggestion is, if you really want to share a fic idea without someone else writing it, don't make a post about it and just talk it over with a friend i guess?

why are the people who work in student affairs at a university always the most incompetent and unhelpful bastards on the planet?

If I told you there was a series of games created before I was born, developed by Capcom, and that I was obsessed with a pairing of middle aged men within; The pairing being comprised of a someone around a decade or so older than the younger, lighter colored hair, stern and serious with a very deadpan sense of humor, along with “this is my job. I shall do it perfectly” demeanor about his work— very cat-coded in general, if you can think it, it will most probably apply— and the younger being very a determined brunette with firm morals who goes toe to toe with the older man and is frequently one of the only ones who can do so with their hell-bent insistence to do good and defend those who cannot, no matter the cost, who is quite dog-coded in reverse.
They spend a few years in each other’s company, learning about each other (even if it’s at a distance and professionally) and then. Something happens. The older one of the pair betrays the brunette — his strings being pulled by a higher power, but it does not excuse him— and in the process reveals a cowardly and vengeful side after the event, causing the entirety of the franchise we play to happen.
And then only a bit later in the storyline, one murdered the other, in cold but passioned blood, because destiny deemed it this way and they only heed the call of it. And whether or not it was intentional, leaving said murdered man’s child an orphan completely alone in the world as a side effect. For years after the event, they are satisfied with what happened, if burdened by guilt. But they were right to do so, weren’t they? They proceed to be metaphorically haunted by the man they killed for the rest of their life, however. And that will come to a head for them.
Now… am I talking about Chrisker (Chris Redfield/Albert Wesker), or Shingou (Mitsurugi Shin/Karuma Gou) ?

although she’s a hardass & seems like she wouldn’t be great with kids, even Reagan isn’t immune to baby cuteness ; except when they’re fresh out of the oven. she thinks they look like ugly old people when they do.
