Different Italian anon, but the thing with Tuscan C is that it's pronounced like a very strong H sound, which is extra weird cuz the letter H makes no sound in Italian, normally. It sounds the way Spanish pronounce the J. We say it's "aspirato". So then people from there will say things like Hoha Hola (coca cola), and it's funny. It's also extremely contagious, I got family in Florence, you spend 3 days with them you start doing it too before you even realize.

#that sounds really endearing actually#answered#anonymous#this is entirely beside the point but I still feel sort of bamboozled by languages that have silent letters#or when letters have multiple pronunciations that vary wildly from word to word#and when the sound and the letter don't seem to match like how J sounds very close to H in Spanish like you mentioned#I'm generalizing a little but none of these are really a thing in Finnish#in Finnish words are pretty much always pronounced the way they are written if that makes sense#I don't know the language terminology but I think phonetic spelling is what you call it#each letter represents a specific sound and you string those together#when you hear a word you can always tell how it's written and when you read a word you know how to pronounce it#even if you're encountering the word for the first time and have no idea what it means#it's comparatively direct and predictable there's practically no need for guessing or memorizing#also the stress is always on the first syllabe and it's so subtle it might as well not be there at all#which sometimes makes spoken Finnish and Finnish accent sound kind of monotonous there isn't a lot of intonation#I was extremely confused by the concept of spelling bees as a kid#anyway long tag ramble but this stuff is just interesting to me

Have an itty bitty tiny piece of stasis in darkness, just so you all have an idea of where the story is going after the godly reveal. and also have proof that i am, in fact, still toiling away at this (as well as hawkins halfway house.)
A week and a half later, Steve entered a town he’d never seen before. He wore simple traveling clothes and carried no weapons aside from a couple of carefully hidden knives. He’d left his armor and shield behind. His satchel held only the essentials one needed for travel and a single stone as large as his fist. The stone was wrapped in layers of cloth to keep it safe during the journey.
I need you to find someone.
He felt very bare but he hadn’t been given much of a choice. Speed was of the essence for his quest, and little no-name towns tended to be wary of strangers in plain clothes, even more so around strangers decked out for battle. Steve wasn’t sure this place could be called a town. It was so small it hadn’t been on any official map. It didn’t even have an inn. Hopefully, Steve wouldn’t be needing an inn once he found who he was looking for.
He’s too far from me to reach.
He asked around, laying on the charm generously. He explained he had been a friend of a friend and had been trusted to deliver something. Eventually, he was told where to go. The house he found far beyond the village’s boundary was small. It looked like it had once been well cared for but it was old and had fallen to disrepair. Steve took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
A sallow old man opened the door. He was bald but had some scruff on his face still. His shoulders, stooped from age, trembled. His eyes were bloodshot. He looked so tired.
He’s my very last worshiper in all the world.
“Wayne Munson?” Steve asked.
“Who wants to know?” The man’s voice was phlegmy and rough. He coughed into the crook of his elbow almost before he could finish speaking.
“I’m Steve. Ser Steve Harrington, pledged to the Lord of Night.”
Wayne’s eyes widened. His grip on the open door weakened and slipped. Steve caught the door before it could hit Wayne.
“He sent me to you,” Steve explained. “May I come in?”

I think one of the funny things about me deciding that Kidd and Killer are bilingual and Law is trilingual is that I have decided on specifics on the German front so when Kidd and Law are trying to learn each other's respective languages they are learning primarily from the other so Kidd opens his mouth and Northern German comes out and when they're driving to Italy he's like Law? Babygirl? Darling? Sweet pea? What the fuck is up with Bavarians.

i can't believe they made me speak french in the oral exam

I think I'm going insane. Lately my dreams have been so mundane, it wouldn't be weird if I wasn't just a person that has nightmares 80% of the time, so I now my dreams are so hard to distinguish from reality.
I wouldn't be able tell what was real from what not if it wasn't because last night I went to my doctor's appointment and I was handed new glasses by Harvey just to go back home and find out Laois was cooking something in my backyard.
#to be fair. in my dream i was back at my old house. so the horrors where there still#also i've been dreaming about my dog. but sometimes it's not him. it's other dog trying to replace him. but it's not him. i miss him dearly#but it's... weird. i never actually dream with characters either. something strange is going on#I've been telling my brother i wake up and i have to remember who i am#for the totally normal dreams. it's like my soul is divided and it's living somewhere else for the night#who is the person i am when i dream. because it's not me. it's a whole different live. whole different people around me. I'm going insane#there's such a strange feeling about it. it's familiar? it's comfortable?#which only makes it even more weird. why is a life so different to mine feel so comfortable...#to the point i wake up and i don't remember who i am for at least ten minutes#but then i forget what i had dreamt about. and then i go around my day randomly reminding things. then that's when i realize those memories#were actual dreams#i should write a fanfic about this lmao#it was a nice dream though. i remember vividly i was sitting in one of those chairs thingies that hang in the air?#and i was swinging happily. i think Laios was talking about where he got whatever the fuck he was cooking. i couldn't understand him really.#he wasn't speaking in spanish but it wasn't english either. i think it was a made up gibberish... I'm still baffled by how comfortable i was#i think there were friends around too. maybe a hangout was going on? everything was nice. it reminds me of the times#i would go eat at a friend's house. but things felt a lot nicer. it was like if time had stopped and nothing wrong could ever happen.#and even then. i was still there. which i think that's why i started to feel dizzy in my little swing. i ended up waking up from that.#i still get dizzy remembering it.#welp. I hope i don't lose myself tonight...#I don't actually know what's worse. the nightmares are common. they are familiar. there's comfort in knowing what to expect.#but “good” dreams like that... i end up thinking about them too much. the residual feeling is weirder#and i have to deal with the whole different layer that is.. there's was a fucking anime guy there. kill me. kill me. get him OUT of my brain#I'm not lying when I say I can physically feel Laios rearranging my brain in ways i will not share publicly#kill me.

The tape "Incident 84" probably is a original copy of the show and contains the last episode of the original Sunny Day Jack, aka the one where Jack died/killed (was shot?) while filming. Everything directs that after said incident the producers tried to bury all clues related to it to protect themselves.
(In Jambeebot's drawings there was one with two formers actors of the show in what it seemed an interview or talking with someone who was asking them about the incident and the woman said they didn't let them hold a funeral for Joseph/Jacktor. AND in this drawing his grave seemed improvised God knows where by someone who knew him, no grave per se just a which further proves he didn't get a proper funeral and only the people who worked in the show knew he died at the age 25 under turbulent circumstances.)
So that tape was the only existing one that proved his death/murder, the person who kept it died and somebody donate their things or they get rid of it themselves and that's why Jack was trapped in there.
After all, it contained his death, but also the last moments of his life and who killed him or why he died. The first element his soul could cling to this realm, well, before you.

Man, talking to people that aren't buried in queer and furry culture like I am is such a good way to keep myself grounded. Like, one of my friends just asked me what a catboy or dogboy was (I made bead bracelets a long time ago saying those) and that gave me the chance to stop and think what I want those terms to mean for myself. Sometimes it's cool to have someone who just knows and understands, but other times it's super cool having folk around me that don't get it first try, no matter how weird that might sound to say.
#reminds me of when a friend J didn't understand my gender and asked me to explain#first of all I'm always down for a good infodump but that gave me the chance to sit and think what my gender actually means to me#I'm so used to expecting being ignored when folks don't understand that it always throws me off a bit#but I like getting to define terms for myself#(but also sometimes it's wonderful not having to explain—like one of my friends just came out as genderfluid and so I got to tell them abou#how my gender is technically fluid because I know they understand instead of me getting stuck just explaining how I'm nonbinary)#anywayss cool thoughts#btw just finished moving in and having my first classes this semester - they're super cool and I might totally die of overwork this time LO#love my classes <3 all except my group-based computing classes I still don't know if I hate y'all or not#I just watched a movie for my Spanish class and it almost made me cry right before classes (if you know Roma you know)#but life's been good so far 😌#fenn rambles#a glimpse into my real life lol#J friend jumpscare#A friend <3

Well the french in the last episode of iwtv was certainly something
#I think I needed the subtitles almost as much as someone who does not speak french. Had to re listen to some of the lines like 2 or 3 times#WHILE reading the subs to know wtf they were saying. Or am I stupid ? I'll ask friends what they think#(Not all the lines but some were hard to get for me)#Like i understand the main actors are not fluent. Not sure they even speak french cause sometimes it sounds like they dont know what the#fuck they're saying themselves. But would it kill them to hire at least french actors for background characters who have 2 lines. So that#at least the environement is believable. Like it was okay in the 1st season cause there werent big sentences in french but here..nope#also when Sam Reid speaks english with the french accent it's okay. It works honestly. I mean I think. And at least it's funny.#But in s2 having them act those big sentences wasn't a good idea. Really you can see they dont know where to put what little tonic accent w#have in french. And so it sounds fake. I mean ''ça sonne faux'' but i dont know how to translate that exactly in english. But yeah makes th#lines sound unsincere and meaningless. So the acting is downgraded. And I can see they're putting a lot of effort into it but it does#Make them sound like they're struggling hard. And we go back to the line not feeling right. Like they dont know what they're saying you kno#*I meant intonation rather that tonic accent (maybe ?) french doesnt have a lot of tonic accent(s). but both probably apply to this case)#Im only this bitchy about it cause it's a rather big production. I really loved the new Puss in Boots movie but damn this movie really punishes both non English-Spanish bilinguals AND hard of hearing people.
