- Corinthians: Addresses issues within the church and provides practical guidance for Christian living.
- Revelation: Offers apocalyptic visions of the end times, the victory of Christ, and the establishment of the new heaven and earth.
3. Themes and Messages:
- Each book of the Bible contributes to the overarching themes of God's love, redemption, forgiveness, and salvation for all humanity.
- Together, these books provide a complete narrative of God's work in the world and His plan for His people.
Application:
- Take time to explore and study each book of the Bible, seeking to understand its unique message and significance.
- Reflect on how the themes and stories in the Bible can impact your own life and faith journey.
- Consider how the teachings and examples in the Bible can shape your beliefs and actions as a follower of Christ.
Conclusion:
The books of the Bible are not just separate entities but are interconnected parts of the larger story of God's redemption and love for humanity. Each book has its own importance and contributes to the overall message of God's plan for salvation. May we approach the study of the Bible with reverence and openness to the wisdom and guidance it offers for our lives.

"The Beast From the Abyss." From the Book of Revelation, 11: 7-10.
The next section affirms God wants the Torah to roll in 3.5 Years. John says until the Torah rolls, the Beast from the Abyss will reign over the planet and the bodies of the dead will languish while people celebrate. The human race is keeping pace with this prophecy at this time. I do not know why you will not use the laws and the details I have given you in order to free yourselves from Donald Trump, the Republican Party and the vile filth they are illegally imposing upon you. Perhaps if times get harder and they will, you will work harder in order to understand.
Until then you get what you deserve, called the Beast. The Beast from the Abyss = 1820, יחך, yachach, "lower yourselves."
7 Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them.
8 Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city—which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt—where also their Lord was crucified.
9 For three and a half days some from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial.
10 The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.
John says Jesus was crucified in Egpyt, during an act of profanity and this it has been since then. I stated as much in my Gospel, and it turns out I was right.
You have turned My Father's House into a house of filth. And you are not showing signs of turning back. You are all damned if you do not fall on your faces and start this human race over.
The Values in Gematria are:
v. 7: The Beast will attack you. The Number is 9716, ץזי״ו, "a frenzy."
He added the Number 135, קלה, kala,
"Kala" (כלה) in Hebrew means "to complete" or "to bring a process to completion," but most often refers to "complete destruction" or "complete annihilation," usually used in the context of God's actions; essentially, the word signifies a total ending or consummation, often with a negative connotation.
I have told you to put Donald Trump and his cabinet to death and every member of the Republican Party and I meant it and there were good reasons for it. They are destroying this world. You have a legal right and plenty of legal ways of disposing of them now do it.
v. 8: Their bodies will lay in the public square. Tell the world the truth, they are all perverts, pedophiles, terrorists, and drug addicts and they betrayed God and then explain how things are going to improve in their immediate absences. We do not believe in their false religion nor do we want it to continue to exist on the surface of this world.
The Number is 9404, טםד, tamed, The verb תמם (tamam) primarily means to be complete or finished (Genesis 47:18, Deuteronomy 31:24) and secondarily to be ethically sound or upright (Job 22:3, Psalm 18:26).
"ed" (עד) in Hebrew means "witness."
Explanation:
Direct translation: "Ed" directly translates to "witness" in Hebrew.
Related terms: The feminine form of "ed" is "edah" (עדה) which also means "witness" or "testimony".
I have given you God's Will in this matter on these men and women and children who have no minds, no charity, no wish to observe the Law or the Passover, and you are to be done with them as I have said.
v. 9-10: For three and a half days, refuse them burial. The Number is 10399, קגץט, "King It."
God is insisting we act competent and capable of rational self-government which we are some of the time, just not all of it. There is no reason this planet should be in the condition it is in. And are riots, revolutions, violence and bloodshed what you want before you will give in and send the police to arrest Mike Johnson and the rest for the mass murdering they have accomplished all the while wearing those pornographic smiles on their faces?
I certainly hope not.

WHO IS SAVED?
Over the years I have noticed a dangerous trend on some of the social networks. While I have discussed it before in some of my Bill’s Bible Basics articles — which are currently inaccessible due to my website temporarily being offline as a result of technical difficulties — this morning I felt compelled to mention it again.
The sad and dangerous trend I am referring to are those Christians who have foolishly taken it upon themselves, and who go around determining who is, and who isn’t, saved.
I am sure some of you know exactly what I am talking about. Some Christians will erroneously say, “Well that person is a Roman Catholic, so they can’t possibly be saved. They are all damned to Hell.”
Or someone will say, “That person believes this, so they can’t possibly be saved.” Or else perhaps, “That individual believes that, so there is no way that they can be saved.” And on and on it goes.
My friends, for those of you who are doing this, you really need to STOP, because you are treading on very dangerous ground!
Simply put, who is saved, and who is not saved is NOT your determination to make. Salvation is God’s domain, and not yours or mine; and when we try to make such a determination, we are clearly overstepping our bounds and becoming jury, prosecutor and judge.
Now, no doubt some Christians who are reading this commentary will be quick to resort to one of their favorite standby Bible verses, which is the following:
“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”
Matthew 7:20, KJV
They will then quickly retort with “See! We can know whether or not a person is saved simply by looking at their fruits!”
Sadly, either knowingly — and thus intentionally — or due to ignorance, they are taking that verse totally out of context.
The fact of the matter is that Matthew 7:20 has absolutely nothing to do with Salvation. Furthermore, all we have to do is read the previous five verses in order to understand Matthew 7:20 in its proper context. Consider the following:
“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”
Matthew 7:15-20, KJV
So exactly who is Jesus referring to in Matthew 7:20 when He says “their” and “them”? He tells us quite plainly in verse 15 when He says “Beware of false prophets”. That is who the “their” and “them” is in verse 20.
That being the case, what is the “evil fruit” and the “good fruit” that Jesus is talking about? Considering that the Lord is providing His followers with a litmus test for determining who is a false prophet, the evil and good fruit can only be referring to one thing: true and false prophecies.
In short, with this lesson, Jesus is simply paraphrasing what Moses wrote in the Book of Deuteronomy, which is the following:
“But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.”
Deuteronomy 18:20-22, KJV
Furthermore, you will find it very interesting to know that it is right before these verses that Moses prophesies about Jesus, and refers to Him as a Prophet. Again, consider the following verses:
“And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.”
Deuteronomy18:17-19, KJV
As some of you will know, Jesus spoke of these very verses in the Gospel of John when He said the following to the unbelieving Jews:
“Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?”
John 5:45-47, KJV
Now isn’t that interesting?! Moses prophesies of another true Prophet who is to come in the far future — meaning Jesus — who will be similar to himself, and then he even tells us how to distinguish a true Prophet from a false prophet.
So a few millennia later, Jesus comes along and offers His followers the very same litmus test as Moses. Thus, what Jesus is REALLY saying in Matthew 7:15-20 is “Look at my fruits. Determine whether or not what I am saying comes to pass. If it does, then you will know that I am a true Prophet of God.”
That is EXACTLY what the Prophet Ezekiel wrote as well, as we see by the following verse:
“And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.”
Ezekiel 33:33, KJV
So to reiterate, Matthew 7:15-20 has absolutely nothing to do with the issue of Salvation, and to try to use Matthew 7:20 as a justification for determining whether or not a person is saved is both misguided and wrong.
You do NOT know how God may be working in another person’s life behind the scenes. It is NOT your place to determine whether or not that person is saved. Again, that is God’s domain alone.
My gosh! If we were to determine how many Christians are saved based on what they say and do, I would dare say that we would ALL fail the test, because we have ALL at one time or another said and done things which we shouldn’t, even AFTER coming to know the Lord. After all:
“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one . . . For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
Romans 3:10, 23, KJV
As for those of you who believe otherwise, you deceive yourselves, plain and simple.
As we all know, or should know, our Salvation is based solely on our faith in the atoning Sacrifice of Jesus Christ, which was a gift of God’s grace and mercy. Period. It has nothing to do with our works or what we say or do. Otherwise, Christ died needlessly. Here again are a few well-known verses:
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Ephesians 2:8-9, KJV
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;”
Titus 3:5, KJV
“Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”
Galatians 2:16, KJV
So to those of you who are guilty of judging another person’s Salvation, again I say, please just STOP doing it! Stop stepping on God’s toes!

SALVATION, A FREE GIFT, WITHOUT CONDITION OR REQUIREMENT? LET US SEE!
It is widely believed that salvation is a free gift, and therefore no requirements are needed, as it is an unconditional favour from God.
ROMANS 5:15-18
(15) But not as the offence, so also is the FREE GIFT…
(16) …for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the FREE GIFT is of many offences unto JUSTIFICATION.
(17) …much more they which receive abundance of GRACE and of the GIFT of RIGHTEOUSNESS…
(18) …even so by the righteousness of one the FREE GIFT came upon all men unto JUSTIFICATION of LIFE.
The scripture clearly explains that God's ways are not like the ways of men, nor are His thoughts like the thoughts of men, for God's plans, purposes, and wisdom transcend the finite wisdom of humanity.
ISAIAH 55:8-9
(8) For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
(9) For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Hereupon, God's gift of salvation is described as "free," why? because it does not involve money like human aspects of transactions.
Although God’s gift does not have to be paid with money, it entails a condition or requirement (Micah 6:8) just as He established His everlasting covenant with His people, for He exhorted everyone to buy it without money and without price (Revelation 3:17-18).
PROVERBS 23:23 BUY the TRUTH, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.
ISAIAH 55:1-3
(1) …he that hath NO MONEY; come ye… BUY wine and milk WITHOUT MONEY and WITHOUT PRICE.
(2) Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread?...
(3) …come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an EVERLASTING COVENANT with you…
1 SAMUEL 11:2 …On this CONDITION will I make a COVENANT with you…
If an earthly covenant (Galatians 3:15, 17) has conditions, how much more if it pertains to God’s covenant (Deuteronomy 7:9, 12), which has the Ten Commandments, as its conditions.
EXODUS 34:27-28
(27) …for after the tenor of these WORDS I have made a COVENANT with thee and with Israel.
(28) …And he wrote upon the tables the WORDS of the COVENANT, the TEN COMMANDMENTS.
God had already established His covenant in the days of Noah, both before and after the flood (Genesis 6:18, 9:15-17).
Thereafter, Christ, who is the same yesterday and forever (Hebrews 13:8, 20-21), has reaffirmed the everlasting (Leviticus 24:8) and perpetual covenant (Exodus 31:16-18), particularly the Sabbath, as always binding to a thousand generations (Psalm 105:8-10).
God absolutely made His commandments, especially the Sabbath (rest), as the requirement to enter into life (Luke 10:25-26).
HEBREWS 4:3-4, 9-11
(3) For we which have BELIEVED do ENTER into REST…
(4) For he spake… of the SEVENTH DAY on this wise, And God did REST the SEVENTH DAY from ALL HIS WORKS.
(9) There REMAINETH therefore a REST to the people of God.
(10) For he that is ENTERED into his REST, he also hath CEASED from his OWN WORKS, as God did from his.
(11) Let us LABOUR therefore to ENTER into that REST, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
MATTHEW 19:16-17
(16) …what good thing shall I DO, that I may have ETERNAL LIFE?
(17) …if thou wilt ENTER into LIFE, KEEP the COMMANDMENTS.
Christ placed the set time of His return, 2026, in the Seventh-day Sabbath.
EXODUS 20:8-11
6 – SIX days (verse 9), 7 – SEVENTH day (verse 10), 13 – SIX days, SEVENTH day (verse 11)
6 + 7 + 13 = 26
ACTS 1:11-12
2,000 – SABBATH DAY’S journey (Joshua 3:3-4, Exodus 16:29)
2,000 + 26 = 2026
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

Hosea has prophecies that will affect the USA and British-descended nations
COGwriter
Hosea was believed to have lived in the 8th century B.C. The name “Hosea,” means “salvation,” or “He saves,” or “He helps.”
Here is how the Book of Hosea starts:
1 The word of the Lord that came to Hosea the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel. (Hosea 1:1)
Hosea is shown to have had a difficult time and was told to take harlots as wives. But he also had difficult messages for the children of Israel, then and now.
The Book of Hosea specifically shows that there will be problems with Israel, Ephraim, and Judah. And these are problems that seem to coincide to the sequence in Daniel 11:39-42.
Notice what Hosea 5:5 teaches will be fulfilled:
5 The pride of Israel testifies to his face; Therefore Israel and Ephraim stumble in their iniquity; Judah also stumbles with them.
Hosea is showing that Israel/USA, Ephraim/Great Britain, Canada, Australia, & New Zealand, and Judah (the nation now called Israel) will have problems. This may be because of an attack by the King of the North on the USA and some of its English-speaking allies. The USA probably had pride in its military power which was then broken and its cities made desolate (cf. Leviticus 26:19, 28-33).
Hosea 8:14 discusses the cities being devoured by fire. Sodom and Gomorrah were partially destroyed to be examples to those who would go for “sexual immorality” and “strange flesh” (Jude 7)—truly those sins are becoming more in the Anglo-lands (see also The Bible Condemns Homosexuality). Those who do not believe that these words apply to the modern descendants of Jacob will not apparently understand this (cf. Deuteronomy 29:29).
Those who trust in oppression and perversity will have sudden destruction come upon them (Isaiah 30:12-13). The Anglo-nations should know better, but will not repent, and Hosea was inspired to write:
5… the Assyrian shall be his king, Because they refused to repent. (Hosea 11:5)
This is not to say that non-Anglo peoples do not have sin or that they will not be punished. The Bible is clear that Assyria will be an end time, northern power that God will punish per Zephaniah 2:13-15, which seems to go along with Revelation 18:1-10.
Many of the Anglo-Saxon-Celtic peoples will be made slaves (see also Will the Anglo-Saxon-Celtic Nations be Divided and Have People Taken as Slaves?).
Since by this time, the Philadelphia remnant will have fled (Revelation 12:14-16), the following also comes about:
6 “With their flocks and herds
They shall go to seek the Lord,
But they will not find Him;
He has withdrawn Himself from them.
7 They have dealt treacherously with the Lord,
For they have begotten pagan children.
Now a New Moon shall devour them and their heritage. (Hosea 5:6-7)
Because of the “sin of Samaria” (Amos 8:14; which may be a reference to the modern USA) there will be a famine of the word that God will have happen (Amos 8:11-12) to at least the North Americans—the place where much of the Philadelphia remnant would have fled from (between Daniel 11:30-39).
Hosea continues to record terrible distresses for these people, then notice what follows in Hosea 5:13-14.
13 When Ephraim saw his sickness, And Judah saw his wound, Then Ephraim went to Assyria And sent to King Jareb; Yet he cannot cure you, Nor heal you of your wound. 14 For I will be like a lion to Ephraim, And like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will tear them and go away; I will take them away, and no one shall rescue.
So then Ephraim tries to make a deal with Assyria.
Hosea also warns about whirlwinds and a coming massive tornado:
6 For from Israel is even this: A workman made it, and it is not God; But the calf of Samaria shall be broken to pieces.
7 “They sow the wind, And reap the whirlwind. The stalk has no bud; It shall never produce meal. If it should produce, Aliens would swallow it up. 8 Israel is swallowed up; Now they are among the Gentiles Like a vessel in which is no pleasure. (Hosea 8:6-8)
5 Even though Ephraim ran wild, the black sheep of the family.
“God’s tornado is on its way, roaring out of the desert. It will devastate the country, leaving a trail of ruin and wreckage. The cities will be gutted, dear possessions gone for good. 16 Now Samaria has to face the charges because she has rebelled against her God: Her people will be killed, babies smashed on the rocks, pregnant women ripped open. (Hosea 13:15-16, THE MESSAGE)
In the above, notice that Samaria is also affected in both of the above sections. This seems to be a reference to the ‘melting pot’ of the USA (Samaria was a melting pot mixture of Babylonians and Israelites; see also Anglo – America in Prophecy & the Lost Tribes of Israel).
Also notice Hosea 8:8-9 where Ephraim apparently tries to pay for help while Israel (perhaps the USA or the USA and Judah) is essentially gone:
8 Israel is swallowed up; Now they are among the Gentiles, Like a vessel in which is no pleasure. 9 For they have gone up to Assyria, Like a wild donkey alone by itself; Ephraim has hired lovers.
In Hosea 12:1 Ephraim tries to make a deal with the Assyrians:
1 Ephraim feeds on the wind, And pursues the east wind; He daily increases lies and desolation. Also they make a covenant with the Assyrians. And oil is carried to Egypt.
And in Hosea 7:11-12 Ephraim also tries to make a deal with Egypt and Assyria. These deal seem to be made after the USA has been eliminated or is on its way out.
11 Ephraim also is like a silly dove, without sense—They call to Egypt, They go to Assyria. 12 Wherever they go, I will spread My net on them; I will bring them down like birds of the air; I will chastise them, According to what their congregation has heard.
There would seem to be no point in going to Egypt if the King of the South has already been overwhelmed by the King of the North, so this attempt to make deals might happen fairly early in the Great Tribulation.
There is nothing that I am aware of in world history that shows that Ephraim calls to Egypt after Hosea was written in a manner to fulfill that prophecy. Since this is a prophecy that must come to pass, this is one more reason why I believe the Bible supports the concept that the King of the North invades the USA and its English-speaking allies before it invades the King of the South.
Notice that Ephraim will eat unclean things in Assyria:
3 They shall not dwell in the Lord’s land, But Ephraim shall return to Egypt, And shall eat unclean things in Assyria. (Hosea 9:3)
These verses in Hosea suggest that the Ephraimites (United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand) and the Jews (modern Israel) think they should get some protection from Assyria (Germany), probably because the USA (Manasseh, Israel?) was the primary reason the King of the North attacked the strongest fortresses and/or because they have made various treaties.
Furthermore, it shows that one of the reasons that Israel, including Ephraim, is swallowed up is because they trusted Assyria. Assyria is a people who Isaiah 10 shows will destroy nations.
Interestingly, Ephraim, Manasseh, and Judah are also prophesied to turn on each other to some degree (Isaiah 9:21).
This seems to be consistent also with a Catholic prophecy:
St. Senanus (died 560): They (English) themselves will betray each other… (Culleton, The Prophets and Our Times, p. 128)
Hosea 10:9-11 suggests that Ephraim and Judah will be forced into hard labor, perhaps around this time as well; while 11:1-8 says that Assyria will be the king of Ephraim and Israel, because they refused to repent, and that the sword will devour their cities.
The last verse in Hosea (14:9) begins with:
9 Who is wise? Let him understand these things. Who is prudent? Let him know them.
Note that the word translated as “prudent” above is the same Hebrew biyn that is in Daniel 11:33/35 as understanding. Since I believe that the Philadelphian portion of the Church is to have the wise and prudent, I believe that Hosea is giving more insight as to why it may be tied into Daniel 11.
Very few in the Church of God have tried to connect the prophecies of Hosea together. Most will not know when it is time to flee and when the Great Tribulation will begin until it is too late.

Pillow-Stitchin' and Soul-Snitchin'
There’s a phrase I hear in labor organisation circles that is every regulation is written in blood. Typically speaking, any given rule about how things are to be done more safely are in place after a time when they weren’t in place and someone got hurt — or worse — in the process of doing their job. This is sad but also somewhat reasonable; people aren’t psychic, they don’t have perfect foresight and can’t predict necessarily every way a thing is going to be used. Even people who make something new and set in place rules for how to treat it, based on understanding its dangers, will wind up being ignored as people become more and more casual with the machinery of their everyday. Familiarity breeds contempt and we live in a world of devices that will happily remind you that you are made of meat and they do not care about what you cannot handle.
The Bible is full of regulations.
Normally when this conversation gets broached, it’s talking about some rules in the Bible that were put in place because people were doing that thing and then they needed laws to keep them from doing them. Famously, in the Pentateuch (the collective term for the five first books of the Bible), there is a restriction on boiling a young goat in its mother’s milk (Exodus 23:19, Exodus 24:26, Deuteronomy 14:21). It’s an odd thing to show up in the same context as rules about roadkill and sacrificing goods to the Lord, but it sure is there and it’s an oddly specific thing.
Now, if you see this as a commandment from God, you need some reason to work out why he thought this was important enough to do and not cover things like how to make vaccines or how slavery was bad (a fact that deeply annoys apologists when you bring it up). Let’s set aside arguments about how the Bible is a factually true document with unique divine insights because that’s fucking stupid, and instead look at the books as if they are the results of people doing things and those records being preserved because of their utility. You know, material realities (ew, gross, I know).
One of the things you find when you start looking at the Bible as this text of things people made, you get to see all sorts of fun trends like where they’d discover a ‘new’ section of ‘prophecy’ that just so happened to be claimed as very old, back-dating its origin, even though it was commenting on things that were entirely true to the right now. The best example of this is the book of Daniel, where the bulk of the book is supposedly written by Daniel, centuries in the past, where Daniel accurately predicts everything that happened right up to the point of the book’s discovery, and then his prophecy of what happens next is completely bloody wrong.
There are other situations where this happens in the Bible, Daniel’s is just the most fun. Especially because Christians have since wound up working a whole fanfiction account of how it actually is about now and instead we’re in the period of the Kingdom of Show Feet.
Anyway, this underscores that when you see a weird rule in the Bible, chances are it was actually written about something current to the writing, that some people were doing and the authorities presenting holy texts or prophecy were instead trying to back-date a new law and act as if it had always been true so you should definitely knock it off right now.
With that in mind check out Ezekiel 13:18. I’m gunna show a few versions of it because it’s a bit of a weird one:
And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you?
Ezekiel 13:18, King James Version
and say, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Woe to the women who sew magic charms on all their wrists and make veils of various lengths for their heads in order to ensnare people. Will you ensnare the lives of my people but preserve your own?
Ezekiel 13:18, New International Version
and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the women that sew pillows upon all elbows, and make kerchiefs for the head of persons of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and save souls alive for yourselves?
Ezekiel 13:18, American Standard Version
Now you might be looking at these verses and going: What the fuck is with the pillows.
This is an example of a place where translation can struggle with specific contextual meaning. What they’re describing here is a specific practice in terms of what’s being done, without elucidating what that process is actually meant to do. This is a great example of how you can see the Bible as a book made by people with a specific agenda and context. After all, if this book is timeless and perfect, there might be some explanation for what the hell a pillow is doing in this conversation, instead of it falling to confuse translators about whether they’re being sewed to armholes or elbows.
As I understand it the practice being described here is a scam. The idea is that people, usually women, were sewing up pillows and telling people they had stolen a soul and stuck it inside the pillow, but what that meant is a lot more of the time and contextual than now. Aside from the iconic Biblical text Bart’s Soul, there’s not really a strong modern conception of a singular vision of what losing your soul means, but it meant something back then.
Anyway, they were sewing souls into pillows and then making people pay to get their souls back. Me, I love this. I find this an adorable example of a kind of scam that only works because of nonsense. It’s like convincing someone you’ve got a better class of sugar pill they can take that will scare off more bears, rather than the much more odious scam of convincing someone you’ve got a better class of sugar pills to treat their cancer. But no! No here, there were women who were making a living — a good enough one to get the attention of the authorities, I assume — by swindling people who had money through the careful process of ransoming their ghosts back to them.
And note the law doesn’t even necessarily ban the practice! It just condemns the practice being done on God’s chosen people! So you know, the King who rolls out this new holy book of definitely real prophecies, just trust me bro, he’s saying look there’s some woe going on here, definitely woe, but you can keep doing this stuff to other people, I don’t care about them. It’s not like the practice is inherently bad it’s just bad to do it to my people, because as with so many things in the Bible, God’s an arsehole who doesn’t actually have any principles.
This is a beautiful example of the illumination offered when you can dispense with the idea of infallibility and univocality. When you stop thinking the Bible is a single book made by a single mind who is the divine author of all of reality, you don’t have to concern yourself with the manifold contradictions or bad explanations, you don’t have to care about what’s missing, and you can instead approach it as a thing people made. Following that thread presents this story, the story of a time when flim-flammers and hucksters were stealing souls and jamming them in pillows.

Judges 16: 18-22. "The Drunkard."
The next installment in Samson's story involves the Threshing Room Floor. The Threshing Room is where Jewish Royalty is made. There is no point in being a Tasty Jewish Shopper if one does not want to go all the way to one day being a Prince or even the King of Israel, so voila, Samson, a Nazir, a kind of godhead must become a man of the people, and he must make an impression upon others so they understand the role and the process of the kind of government mandated by the Torah.
The Torah requires a King of Israel to lead the people in concert with the Court of the Assembly, which includes prophets, priests, merchants and landowners.
"The book of Deuteronomy provides many rules to limit the king’s power (Deut 17:14-20): the king must be from the people of Israel and chosen by their deity; he must not multiply horses for himself or send the people back to Egypt to acquire them; he must not multiply wives for himself; and he must not acquire excessive silver and gold for himself.
The king is to study the Torah daily under the supervision of the Levitical priests so that he might observe Yhwh’s commandments properly and understand his proper role as king. 2Kgs 22 portrays King Josiah’s officers reading a newly discovered Torah scroll to him, and he subsequently declares a program of religious reform and national restoration in Judah and Israel (2Kgs 23:1-31)."
Anyone who purports to join the Court of the Assembly and become or serve the King them must be very well trained by what is called Samson by the Shoftim. He must be Nazir, "consecrated to the service of the goodness to the people."
This implies a process of dehulling, in which one must be tutored. How this happens is found as we conclude this part of his story:
18 When Delilah saw that he had told her everything, she sent word to the rulers of the Philistines, “Come back once more; he has told me everything.” So the rulers of the Philistines returned with the silver in their hands.
19 After putting him to sleep on her lap, she called for someone to shave off the seven braids of his hair, and so began to subdue him.[c] And his strength left him.
20 Then she called, “Samson, the Philistines are upon you!”
He awoke from his sleep and thought, “I’ll go out as before and shake myself free.” But he did not know that the Lord had left him.
21 Then the Philistines seized him, gouged out his eyes and took him down to Gaza. Binding him with bronze shackles, they set him to grinding grain in the prison.
22 But the hair on his head began to grow again after it had been shaved.
No one really cares if God is here or not. They care if an important public official, parent, friend, or lover is not present where and when he should be. Some of these roles must be served in public, some in private. Delilah cannot seem to tell the difference. She is treating a god like a man, and the man like a child, one she can keep to himself.
The world cannot change if it responds to its evolutionary pressures by sitting what is sacred on its knee. Public office is the only way the Sacro sanctuary of the Torah can bring light to the world. God, gods, and goddesses, stars and starlets do not make good public officials, but men and women whose hearts are pure certainly do.
The transformation from a childhood dream into an adult reality requires deep sleep. In Vedanta, Judaism's strategic partner, deep sleep is the black space in between incarnations. It is when all desire and decision making stops and starts again in a "new body" the next day, one way or the other. Karma starts and stops depending on what happens after deep sleep.
In Judaism, deep sleep is a time when the black space becomes a crucible for prophecy, it is a determination of just exactly what the future will hold. The receipt of the Torah, which contains the realities the Jewish people must confront in order to succeed with the building of the Nation of Israel always takes place after a period of deep sleep. It is with eyes that can discern the realities of the nation such a thing takes place, which is why the Bronze Shackles, the Court of the Assembly blinded him, so the affairs of state could be properly tended.
Bronze Shackles called Bemidbar, "the men of the nation that do the work" are not a short order. The entirety of this Shoftim is a guide as to how to turn ordinary adolescents into Bemidbars. They accompany, in some cases supervise the King of Israel and make sure the government runs and meets the needs of the people.
The Values in Gematria are:
v. 18: She sent word to the rulers of the Philistines. Delilah means "upwardly mobile to the top of the branches." She, a pronoun associated with the government, sent word to the rulers of the Philistines, men without couth she figured out how to raise their status. This was after all her desire and her duty to the people.
They came with silver in their hands meaning they were amenable to the process of elevation she had discovered.
The Number is 11609, יאואֶפֶסט, joapestes, "The Sullen Ace of the East." also, Corpus Sutis, "the body awaits reconstitution."
Aces are princes and kings who must are not the products of dreams but of the "suit." Delilah shaves Samson's head, a prince can't look like a mukkity muk and then he awakens in the East, shiny and new:
v. 19: After putting him to sleep on her lap, she called for someone to shave off the seven braids of his hair, and so began to subdue him.[c] And his strength left him.
The Number is 6028, סבח, sabah, "the drunkard."
Sab= grandfather's
Ah= brother
= He joined the club. Samson's academic achievements and period of isolation were proven. He resisted temptation as long as was necessary, his purity was tested, recognized and he was able to enter the prison, AKA the government.
v. 20: Then she called, “Samson, the Philistines are upon you!” He awoke from his sleep and thought, “I’ll go out as before and shake myself free.” But he did not know that the Lord had left him.
Once one becomes pure, one cannot become impure. This is impossible. The strength of the Lord left Samson because he found his own and it was sufficient.
The Number is 7889, "not haughty but polished."
v. 21: Then the Philistines seized him, gouged out his eyes and took him down to Gaza. Binding him with bronze shackles, they set him to grinding grain in the prison.
Samson is a sun god. He cannot be brought down without Gaza, "as an agent of safety." Bronze Shackles as we discussed are legal ties to the people for the purposes of providing them with all they need, ie. "grinding their grain."
The Number is 8359, חגהט they celebrated hagat,"reach, arrive, and it will happen."
v. 22: But the hair on his head began to grow again after it had been shaved. Samson's life continued to evolve in spite of the fact he achieved Ha Shem and did the work identified by the prophecy. Prophecies are doorways between worlds, they do not define the lifetimes inhabiting those worlds.
The Number is 3202, גב אֶפֶסב, "The back of Ephesus."
The future is always coming up behind us. To be able to put the future in front, to be in charge of life because the world has decided to be in control of itself, is how one captures the Light of the Sun and elevates one's branches towards it, and thus concludes the mystery of the strange relationship between Samson and Delilah.

WHEN GOD SPEAKS IN PROPHECY - PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME
📖 ═══════════════
If what the prophet spoke in GOD’s name doesn’t happen, then obviously GOD wasn’t behind it; the prophet made it up. Forget about him (DEUTERONOMY 18:22 MSG)
═══════════════
Pastor Chris Says
━━━━━━━━━━
When God gives a prophetic word, it’ll come to pass whether or not you believe it. Think about this: Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice” (Matthew 26:34). Did Peter believe? No! In fact, he insisted, “Even if I must die with You, I will not deny or disown You.” (Matthew 26:35 AMPC).
But did the words of Jesus come to pass? Yes! Peter denied Jesus and disowned Him. In fact, on a certain occasion, Peter cursed and swore that he didn’t know Jesus. How about the story of Judas? When Jesus told His disciples one of them would betray Him, Judas Iscariot didn’t accept what Jesus said about him neither was he happy about it.
══════════════
══════════════
Then the Bible tells us in Luke 22:3 that an evil spirit entered into Judas Iscariot. When that happened, he walked out of where Jesus and the disciples were, went to the Chief Priests to conclude arrangements to betray Jesus. Look through the Scriptures, you’ll find several prophetic words to kings, and prophecies to nations; they didn’t have to believe those prophetic words, but the words came to pass nonetheless.
However, when you believe the prophetic word, you’ll be blessed; more so, when the word of prophecy concerns you for your benefit. For example, when Mary received the prophetic words about the birth of Jesus, she said, “Be it unto me, according to thy Word.” (Luke 1:38).
Mary believed and gave birth to the Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 2:6-7) according to prophecy. The Bible says, “And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord” (Luke 1:45). When you believe, those words of blessings come to pass in your life. The difference, however, is that when God speaks prophetically about your nation, about your time, your course of life, whether or not you believe it, it’s going to happen anyway. So, what you do is to learn the Word; understand the Word; find and take your place in that prophetic word, and you’ll be victorious always.
═══════════════
🗣️ CONFESSION
═══════════════
I’ve found and taken my place in Christ; I’m in dominion; the glory of God is revealed in and through me. I continually wax stronger and greater every day, by the Spirit; victorious by the Word. Through me, the truth of the Gospel is proclaimed and many receive salvation, healings, blessings and miracles today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Justification by Faith (Part 1)
I’m currently studying what the Bible teaches about meeting God’s standard of judgment through faith and this is part #1 of my Bible study notes for this topic.
According to God’s standard of judgment how many can be justified?
In the following passages, the writer is telling us that no man living can be justified. To be justified, or to stand in the sight of God, essentially mean the same thing.
“And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified." Psa 143:2.
“If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?” Psa 130:3
But, What exactly is justification?
Webster's definition of the word “justify” is - "To prove or show to be just, or conformable to law, right, justice, propriety, or duty; to defend or maintain; to vindicate as right; to warrant." "To pronounce free from guilt or blame; to absolve; to clear."
So how exactly can we be pronounced free from the guilt of sin?
Isaiah tells us that by the knowledge of Jesus, whose goal is to bear our iniquities, is to justify many.
"By his knowledge shall My righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities." Isa 53:11.
As I read this verse, the word "many" stood out to me, so I looked into it a little deeper and found the following verses all referring to Jesus' position as the head of the family of God:
many H7227
The pictograph is a picture of a head and a picture of the tent representing the family. Combined these mean "head of the family". Each family has a master that rules all cases, trials, conflicts, and contests. This person was the representative for the whole tribe, one abundant in authority and wisdom. (see Exodus 18:25).
His righteous servant, Jesus, is the head of the family. (Ephesians 5:23, Colossians 1:18, Christ, the head of the church, Chief. Col 2:10, Christ, the head of all principality and power.)
“Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.” John 13:13.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” Romans 3:23-24.
What’s “grace” G5485?
Favor with God. Read Luke 1:30, Acts 7:46 for examples.
“And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.” Acts 20:32.
Why can't we be justified by the deeds of the law?
We find an explanation to this question in Romans chapter 3. Essentially, anyone who tries to justify themselves by the deeds of the law is a legalist.
“For by the law is the knowledge of sin.” Romans 3:20.
Read Romans 3:20-28 for context.
The doctrine of justification by faith in Christ: “Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.” Romans 3:20-28.
What's the law of faith?
What is the law? Doctrine. The unalterable precepts of Jehovah's decalogue, which are as immutable as Jah’s throne.
To the Law and to the Testimony: It has ever been the effort of the enemy of righteousness to lead men to disregard the claims of the law of Jehovah. And through his prophets, God has ever sought to bring men to a realization of the binding claims of his eternal and unchangeable law. Of his ancient people, it is written: “The Lord testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, turn ye from your evil ways, and keep My commandments and My statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by My servants the prophets.” 2 Kings 17:13. In this our day, when there is manifest a widespread tendency to throw away the restraint of God's law, Mrs. White has firmly and fearlessly endeavored to bring to the consciences of men the sacredness of the divine requirements. The immutability of that law, and the vital necessity of obedience, through the power of Christ, to its every requirement, including the fourth commandment, has been constantly urged in her public work. Of the relation of the law to the gospel, she has written: “In the life of Christ the principles of the law are made plain; and as the Holy Spirit of God touches the heart; as the light of Christ reveals to men their need of his cleansing blood and his justifying righteousness, the law is still an agent in bringing us to Christ, that we may be justified by faith. ‘perfect, converting the soul.’ “‘Till heaven and earth pass,’ said Jesus, ‘one jot or one tittle shall in nowise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.’ The sun shining in the heavens, the solid earth upon which you dwell, are God's witnesses that his law is changeless and eternal. Though they may pass away, the divine precepts shall endure. ‘It is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.’ The system of types that pointed to Jesus as the Lamb of God was to be abolished at His death; but the precepts of the decalogue are as immutable as the throne of God.”—Ellen G. White, The Desire of Ages, 308.
Comprises of the following:
“The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.” Psalms 19:7-11.
Testimony:
1 John 5:9-12, the record that God gave of His Son.
Revelation 19:10, The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
John 5:39, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”
Acts 10:43, “To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.”
Statutes, Commandment:
Deuteronomy 4:5-6, Ezekiel 36:27, “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.” Psalms 12:6.
Fear, Judgments:
Psalms 119:128; Nehemiah 9:13; Isaiah 11:1-5; Proverbs 9:10; Proverbs 15:33; Proverbs 16:6, by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.; Job 28:28,“…Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.”
The purpose of the law is to show us our sin that we may, through faith in Jesus Christ, be converted.

TRINITY DEBUNKED!
God Is Not A Trinity
- - - - God will prove those a liar for adding to his words. Proverbs 30:6 - Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. ------- God The Father is His Spirit and His Word is in him. - 4
John 4:23-24 - 23But a time is coming and has now come when the TRUE worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such as these to worship Him. 24God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”… (clearly God is his spirit for both God who is Spirit is worshiped the same way as the Father who seeks such as these to Worship HIM.)
1 Corinthians 2:11 - 11For who among men knows the thoughts of man except his own spirit within him? So too, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
John 14:10 - 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I say to you, I do not speak on My own. Instead, it is the Father dwelling in Me, performing His works. (The Father is in Yeshua because it is The Father's Spirit which is in Yeshua and Yeshua is the Word which is in the Father hence The Father and I are one, the Father is in me and I in the father.)
Psalm 144:10-11 - 10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness. 11 Quicken me, O Lord, for thy name's sake: for thy righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble. (You are my God YOUR SPIRIT not a separate person who is a Spirit Your Spirit is Good.)
------- SINGULAR GOD ALONE / NON OTHER --- 12 VERSES
Deuteronomy 32:12 - So the Lord alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him. (in other translations in Israel Bible it says: Yehovah alone did guide him "alone means by himself no other" NO alien god at his side. So Yehovah is clearly the Father alone and it is he who guides us not 3 in 1.)
Deuteronomy 32:39 - 39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. (clearly God is singular he said I AM HE there is no GOD WITH ME now if Yeshua is God and the Father is God but the Father said there is no God with me that means no other persons are God but him and even Yeshua called the Father God and never claimed as a human to be God but Son of God)
Isaiah 40:28 - 28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. (God the Lord is CREATOR singular not creators which would show God is one person not 2 or 3 in one.)
Isaiah 42:8 - 8 I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. (I singular, that is my singular name, and my singular glory will I singular not give to another so no other person will have his glory, neither my singular praise to graven images Idols but Christians bow before the cross.)
Isaiah 48:11 - 11 For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another. (Notice again for Mine own sake singular mine, I will do it not we, for how should MY singular name be poluted, I singular will not give my Glory unto ANOTHER which means to make a plural God another meaning other than himself.)
Isaiah 54:5 - 5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the Lord of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. (I mean singular Maker, Singular Husband, Yehovah "the lord of hosts" is HIS name Singular. Your Redeemer the HOLY ONE singular, God singular of whole earth.)
Isaiah 66:18 - 18 For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory. (Clearly this shows singular for I know their works, goes on I will gather singular My Glory singular.)
Jeremiah 3:14 - 14 Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion: (for I singular am married to you, and I singular take you one of a city... and I will bring you to zion all singular)
Psalm 86:10 - 10 For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone. (You are God alone, self explanitory that God is alone singular God.)
Psalm 97:6-7 - 6 The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory. 7 Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods. (So we see that many singular god(s) make gods plural but here we see God is spoke of as His glory, and it says these people are confounded by all their graven images, and all these gods worship HIM singular.)
Psalm 148:13 - Let them praise the name of the Lord: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven. (His name alone notice God his name Yehovah the Father he alone his name alone.)
Nehimiah 9:6 - 6 Thou, even thou, art Lord alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee. (You ALONE are GOD or even you Are LORD alone... Singular... You singular made all these things... These whole things all the Host worship YOU a singular not they worship them or you all or these three but simply you.) ----------------------- THE ANGEL / AN ANGEL of the Lord. - In The Israel Bible in Genesis 16:7 of The Israel Bible it says (An ANGEL then that AN Angel becomes THE ANGEL in verse 9 because The Angel is an Angel picked by God to carry the message from him to man.) - Further more at verse 12 in NIV which is verse 11 in Hebrew Israel Bible it says "FOR YEHOVAH or THE LORD" has paid heed, if the Angel of the Lord is the Lord which makes no sense then he would say For I have paid heed to your suffering or For I am Yehovah I have heard your suffering but clearly it is not God but a messenger of Yehovah. - Again in Genesis 22:11 - it says in the Hebrew Israel Bible An angel of The Lord then in verse 15 it becomes the Angel because it is like I am saying An Elderly man spoke to me and THE Elderly man said... its usage of the vocabulary. The Angel or Messenger Malak of Yehovah can not be Yehovah its a messenger of him bringing his message to us. the He that is HIS message is God the Malak is simply an angel or a messenger that becomes the Angel/Messenger by specificially being picked for a job. (the definition of Malak is = A MESSENGER) NASB Translation = Ambassadors, Angel, Angels, Envoys, Messenger, Messengers, (According to the lexicon on Biblehub the Malach "A Messenger" of Yehovah called out so this is A Messenger and it is The Messenger when talking about being sent for a specific person A becomes the in linguistics.)
------------------------- FEASTS STILL STAND / MEATS - 2 verse
Zechariah 14:16 - And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. (This is a future prophecy that in God's Kingdom we will still be keeping the Feast of Sukkot/Tabernacles. So why would God have the feasts in the Tenakh but then after Jesus died say Gentiles aparantly don't have to keep the Feasts but in this Prophecy talking of the Kingdom every nation will keep it, it seems in all kindness teh Christian God is skitsophrenic changing his mind.)
Colossians 2:16-22 - 16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. 18 Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you. Such a person also goes into great detail about what they have seen; they are puffed up with idle notions by their unspiritual mind. 19 They have lost connection with the head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow. 20 Since you died with Christ to the elemental spiritual forces of this world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules: 21 “Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!”? 22 These rules, which have to do with things that are all destined to perish with use, are based on merely human commands and teachings. (It is clear to me that this is not talking about believers judging you of feasts or feasts being done away or meats but it is clearly talking about the pagans who worshiped angels and other false gods who are not Of God Yehovah taking them from the true God so these "gentiles" in God did Gods feasts just like Paul who said be like me.) --- Galatians 4:11-12 - 11I fear for you, that my efforts for you may have been in vain. 12I beg you, brothers, become like me, for I became like you. You have done me no wrong.

Murder in the Bible
The act of murder is rampant in the Bible. In much of the Bible, especially the Old Testament, there are laws that command that people be killed for absurd reasons such as working on the Sabbath, being gay, cursing your parents, or not being a virgin on your wedding night. In addition to these crazy and immoral laws, there are plenty of examples of God’s irrationality by his direct killing of many people for reasons that defy any rational explanation such as killing children who make fun of bald people, and the killing of a man who tried to keep the ark of God from falling during transport. There are also countless examples of mass murders commanded by God, including the murder of women, infants, and children.
The following passages are a very small percentage of the total passages approving of murder in the Bible. They are divided here into three parts: 1) Capital Punishment Crimes, 2) God’s Murders for Stupid Reasons, 3) Murdering Children, and 4) Miscellaneous Murders. This list is long, but it barely scratches the surface of all the murders approved of in the Bible.
1) Capital Punishment Crimes:
Kill People Who Don’t Listen to Priests
Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel. (Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT)
Kill Witches
You should not let a sorceress live. (Exodus 22:17 NAB)
Kill Homosexuals
“If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives.” (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)
Kill Fortunetellers
A man or a woman who acts as a medium or fortuneteller shall be put to death by stoning; they have no one but themselves to blame for their death. (Leviticus 20:27 NAB)
Death for Hitting Dad
Whoever strikes his father or mother shall be put to death. (Exodus 21:15 NAB)
Death for Cursing Parents
1) If one curses his father or mother, his lamp will go out at the coming of darkness. (Proverbs 20:20 NAB)
2) All who curse their father or mother must be put to death. They are guilty of a capital offense. (Leviticus 20:9 NLT)
Death for Adultery
If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10 NLT)
Death for Fornication
A priest’s daughter who loses her honor by committing fornication and thereby dishonors her father also, shall be burned to death. (Leviticus 21:9 NAB)
Death to Followers of Other Religions
Whoever sacrifices to any god, except the Lord alone, shall be doomed. (Exodus 22:19 NAB)
Kill Nonbelievers
They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)
Kill False Prophets
If a man still prophesies, his parents, father and mother, shall say to him, “You shall not live, because you have spoken a lie in the name of the Lord.” When he prophesies, his parents, father and mother, shall thrust him through. (Zechariah 13:3 NAB)
Kill the Entire Town if One Person Worships Another God
Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. “The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him.” (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)
Kill Women Who Are Not Virgins On Their Wedding Night
But if this charge is true (that she wasn’t a virgin on her wedding night), and evidence of the girls virginity is not found, they shall bring the girl to the entrance of her fathers house and there her townsman shall stone her to death, because she committed a crime against Israel by her unchasteness in her father’s house. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst. (Deuteronomy 22:20-21 NAB)
Kill Followers of Other Religions.
1) If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst. (Deuteronomy 13:7-12 NAB)
2) Suppose a man or woman among you, in one of your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, has done evil in the sight of the LORD your God and has violated the covenant by serving other gods or by worshiping the sun, the moon, or any of the forces of heaven, which I have strictly forbidden. When you hear about it, investigate the matter thoroughly. If it is true that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, then that man or woman must be taken to the gates of the town and stoned to death. (Deuteronomy 17:2-5 NLT)
Death for Blasphemy
One day a man who had an Israelite mother and an Egyptian father got into a fight with one of the Israelite men. During the fight, this son of an Israelite woman blasphemed the LORD’s name. So the man was brought to Moses for judgment. His mother’s name was Shelomith. She was the daughter of Dibri of the tribe of Dan. They put the man in custody until the LORD’s will in the matter should become clear. Then the LORD said to Moses, “Take the blasphemer outside the camp, and tell all those who heard him to lay their hands on his head. Then let the entire community stone him to death. Say to the people of Israel: Those who blaspheme God will suffer the consequences of their guilt and be punished. Anyone who blasphemes the LORD’s name must be stoned to death by the whole community of Israel. Any Israelite or foreigner among you who blasphemes the LORD’s name will surely die. (Leviticus 24:10-16 NLT)
Kill False Prophets
1) Suppose there are prophets among you, or those who have dreams about the future, and they promise you signs or miracles, and the predicted signs or miracles take place. If the prophets then say, ‘Come, let us worship the gods of foreign nations,’ do not listen to them. The LORD your God is testing you to see if you love him with all your heart and soul. Serve only the LORD your God and fear him alone. Obey his commands, listen to his voice, and cling to him. The false prophets or dreamers who try to lead you astray must be put to death, for they encourage rebellion against the LORD your God, who brought you out of slavery in the land of Egypt. Since they try to keep you from following the LORD your God, you must execute them to remove the evil from among you. (Deuteronomy 13:1-5 NLT)
2) But any prophet who claims to give a message from another god or who falsely claims to speak for me must die.’ You may wonder, ‘How will we know whether the prophecy is from the LORD or not?’ If the prophet predicts something in the LORD’s name and it does not happen, the LORD did not give the message. That prophet has spoken on his own and need not be feared. (Deuteronomy 18:20-22 NLT)
Infidels and Gays Should Die
So God let them go ahead and do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. Instead of believing what they knew was the truth about God, they deliberately chose to believe lies. So they worshiped the things God made but not the Creator himself, who is to be praised forever. Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relationships with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men and, as a result, suffered within themselves the penalty they so richly deserved. When they refused to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their evil minds and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, fighting, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They are forever inventing new ways of sinning and are disobedient to their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, and are heartless and unforgiving. They are fully aware of God’s death penalty for those who do these things, yet they go right ahead and do them anyway. And, worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. (Romans 1:24-32 NLT)
Kill Anyone who Approaches the Tabernacle
For the LORD had said to Moses, ‘Exempt the tribe of Levi from the census; do not include them when you count the rest of the Israelites. You must put the Levites in charge of the Tabernacle of the Covenant, along with its furnishings and equipment. They must carry the Tabernacle and its equipment as you travel, and they must care for it and camp around it. Whenever the Tabernacle is moved, the Levites will take it down and set it up again. Anyone else who goes too near the Tabernacle will be executed.’ (Numbers 1:48-51 NLT)
Kill People for Working on the Sabbath
The LORD then gave these further instructions to Moses: ‘Tell the people of Israel to keep my Sabbath day, for the Sabbath is a sign of the covenant between me and you forever. It helps you to remember that I am the LORD, who makes you holy. Yes, keep the Sabbath day, for it is holy. Anyone who desecrates it must die; anyone who works on that day will be cut off from the community. Work six days only, but the seventh day must be a day of total rest. I repeat: Because the LORD considers it a holy day, anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death.’ (Exodus 31:12-15 NLT)

The Truth of the Christ
Last time, we defined truth. We determined that truth, that which corresponds to reality, is a worthy pursuit, especially in matters of religion. Today, I want to apply that concept to Jesus Christ. I want to answer the following question: does it matter whether the Jesus Christ of the Bible was an actual historical figure? Is that so significant a question, or can Christianity continue whether Jesus is real or a myth?
The reason I pose this question is because I have spoken to people over the years about what I have learned about the historicity of Jesus, and some people, even Christians, do not find the topic nearly as interesting as I do. Learning that there is substantial evidence that Jesus lived and died exactly as the Gospel writers say that He did had a tremendous effect on my life. In my formative years, I vacillated between Christianity and agnosticism precisely because I did not think the stories of the Bible were compatible with the historical account. I actually wanted to believe the Bible and to believe in God because I had been conditioned to do so by my culture in the Bible Belt, USA, but I could not believe something in my heart that I understood in my brain to be false. As a result of my admittedly insubstantial studies at the time, I thought that the Bible was a book of mostly fictional stories that some adults wanted me to believe but that enlightened people should scorn as outdated. When I learned that the Bible is actually a better account of the history it records than my high school and undergraduate textbooks, I began to give its teachings the respect its factuality earned for it. My thoughts on the Bible changed from, “It has some interesting philosophical and moral ideas that I can incorporate into my life if I feel like it,” to “It is true, and I need to do what it says.” Since then, as I read and reread the Bible every day, I have fallen in love with it, and I now use it as a sort of litmus test by which I judge all other theories and ideas. I give it the same credit I would give to an acclaimed historian’s book and actually more so because the historian’s book, however well researched and documented, could be wrong; the Bible is the inherent Word of God. I did not give the Bible its credit on face value (as some people do whose faith is stronger than mine). I needed convincing, which came by way of striding such classics as Evidence That Demands a Verdict and The Case for Christ, among others.
Circling back to my original point, because of my ‘literal’ nature, I needed to know that the Bible was true before I could believe its message, but upon discussing what I learned about the Bible with others, I have found, to my surprise, that not all people have that nature. Some people can take the teachings of the Bible whether they understand that they are anchored in fact or not. These people have that childlike faith, which Jesus praises in the Gospels, and which I did lack. That is good in the sense that those people possess that kind of faith; however, I think some of them are living in a bubble that could be burst if they listened to the wrong kind of teaching. I think, perhaps, if you are one of those people, you may be susceptible to believing a lie. Jesus also says that we should love the Lord our God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. If we never consider why we believe what we believe, we are violating that command. Furthermore, He commanded us to make disciples of the nations. If we do not know why we believe the Bible, how can we evangelize? If I do not know that the Bible is true, how can I answer the man’s question who asks me why he should believe it? I could explain to the man how he should believe it because it works for me, but then he might respond that I should come with him to the bar and get drunk because it works for him. If I cannot tell my friend that he should believe the Bible because it is exclusively true, then I am merely a salesman trying to convince him to buy an iPhone instead of a Samsung. For now, I want to take this broad concept of the importance of the truth of the Bible and narrow it to the life of Jesus. I want to discuss six reasons why it is important to know if the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ life are true.
First, Jesus’ life represents the distinction between Christianity and Judaism; in fact, it defines the words. Before Jesus, Christianity and Judaism were one and the same. Actually, there was no Christianity, and there was no Judaism. There were Hebrews who believed in the one true God and were expectantly awaiting the Messiah to whom their scriptures pointed. When Jesus came onto the scene, those Hebrews who understood that He was the Messiah became Christians, along with Samaritans and gentiles the world over who reached the same conclusion. Those who believed in God, but did not understand that Jesus is the Messiah, we now call believers in Judaism. Before Christ, Jew was an ethnicity; after Christ, the term attained the potential to denote a religion as well. If Jesus was not, Christianity and Judaism are not.
Secondly, the majority of the Christian Bible focuses on Jesus. The Old Testament predicts this coming and the New Testament discusses His life and its ramifications, how He fulfilled and will fulfill Old Testament prophecy. All these depictions describe a real man who lived, died, resurrected, and will return again one day. The prophecies are incredibly specific and numerous, but consider this mathematical exercise as it pertains to forty-eight of the major, obvious prophecies fulfilled in Jesus Christ; the odds of one man fulfilling all forty-eight of the prophecies is one in 1 in 10157. That means that the fulfillment of the prophecies in Jesus proves that God inspired the prophecies to a definiteness, which lacks only one chance in 10157 of being absolute. Put another way, say one hundred billion people have lived on Earth throughout all of history – obviously the actual number is much smaller, but bear with me. Then, the odds of any random man who lived being the man of prophecy is 100,000,000,000: 10157 or 1:10157, which any gambler can tell you are pretty long odds, indeed. If Jesus did not actually exist, then no man has fulfilled the prophecy and the New Testament writers merely invented this elaborate story, and most of them were killed for their trouble.
Third, it is important for Christians and prospective Christians to know how Jesus lived this life, if in fact He did live. Christians claim that Jesus is God’s physical manifestation on Earth, that the Jesus who lived in the early years of the Annus Dominis was God in the flesh. That is an incredibly important doctrine of Christianity, one of the main points, which separates it from Islam and Judaism. We would expect that if God did walk the Earth in a fleshly body, He would live a certain kind of way. If I found some information that led me to believe that Jesus lived just like I live, that he succumbed to temptations and made mistakes, no one would be able to convince me that He is God. IT is hard enough to believe that God was a carpenter; it is impossible that God was a sinner. Jesus’ sinless, purposeful, self-controlled, miraculous life substantiates his claim to godship, which is the substance of Christianity. For Him not to have lived would make this central idea nonsensical.
Similarly, if Jesus’ sinlessness confirms His godship, then His resurrection confirms His teachings. In Deuteronomy 18, God explains to the Hebrews about the ultimate Prophet who is to come and also about God’s prophets in general. The ultimate Prophet Moses mentions is Jesus, and after this discussion of Jesus, he gives a practical method for determining whether or not a man or woman who claims to be a prophet is indeed a prophet: if what the person predicts comes true, the Lord is speaking through that person, and he or she is a prophet; if not, the self-proclaimed prophet is speaking presumptuously and is a liar. The Gospel writers record several prophecies that Jesus makes. Jesus prophecies the destruction of Jerusalem, which occurred in 70 AD almost forty years after Jesus’ death. Jesus prophecies about the end of this world, which has not yet occurred as of this writing but which is surely bound to come! But he most important and most provocative of Jesus’ prophecies is about His death and subsequent resurrection: “When they came together in Galilee, [Jesus] said to them, ‘the son of man is going to be delivered into the hands of men. They will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised to life,” (Matthew 1722-23 NIV). All four Gospel writers record this prophecy multiple times in their Gospels, and its importance cannot be overstated. If this prophecy was false, then Jesus’ words can perish just as He did, but it is true, if Jesus Christ rose from the grave, it is merely our moral imperative to believe Jesus in every sense of the word. Woe is the man who rejects the words of Jesus Christ.
While these first four points are logical in nature, forming natural, philosophical syllogisms for how a person should receive them, these last two are more theological in nature. They are the basis for the theology to which the Christian church subscribes. If my distinction between logical and theological seems murky, bear with me, and our discussion will illuminate my meaning.
First, Jesus’ death served as the true sacrifice for human sin. The Old Testament from Genesis to Malachi makes one point if it makes no others, and that point is as follows: man’s sin deserves God’s wrath. You hear people say from time to time, “I just want what’s to me,” or, “I just want to be treated fairly.” My friend, you do not want to be treated fairly by God. God is perfect, absolutely moral and sinless. In fact, God is morality, just as He is truth, love, knowledge, and many other things. With that said, He created us, and He is duty-bound to punish us for our sin. Otherwise, He would be condoning our sin, acting immorally, which is something God cannot do, (for more on this, refer to my post, “Dealing with Moral Law.”) However, God built in a loophole whereby He takes upon Himself the punishment our sins deserve, namely death by crucifixion. Our sin earns for us eternal separation from God, the result of which is death. The Bible teaches that even the very best human is guilty of sin and deserving of death, and if we merely look inwardly, we see this truth in ourselves. I want to do right, and I want to be good, but I still find myself cursing sometimes and lusting sometimes. I think ill of my neighbors more than I care to admit. I do not want to do these things. I want to be like Jesus, but I find that I just cannot always carry it out. That is the main reason why Jesus had to come. On the cross, Jesus took the punishment that our sins deserve. He was our scapegoat, our whipping boy, and if we accept His sacrifice for us, God forgives our sin. Jesus’ death implies our forgiveness, the negation of which implies we are still deserving of God’s wrath – no Jesus, no sacrifice.
Then, after Jesus died, He resurrected on the third day. Many Christians celebrate Easter as the day that Jesus rose, although historians cannot tell us with certainty on what day of the year Jesus actually rose. The Gospels do make clear the point that Jesus rose on the first day of the week, which is the reason you cannot purchase a Chick-Fil-A biscuit on Sundays. Some Christian thinkers still debate on these days of the week, but on one point regarding the resurrection, there is no debate because the Bible is crystal clear: Jesus’ resurrection was the beginning of a new trend. God raised Jesus, or you could say Jesus resurrected Himself, as a model and foreshadowing a “first fruits” of what is in store for His followers. All who accept Jesus as Lord and Savior will be raised after their bodily death to live forever in Paradise with Jesus. If Jesus was not literally raised from the grave, then neither will His followers be. If you are one of His followers, you would be foolish not to know for certain that Jesus resurrected. Otherwise, you are giving up the pleasures of this world and setting your hope on Heaven in vain. But take heart, Jesus did rise. Not only does the Bible explain the resurrection, but every bit of historical evidence points to the same conclusion. Christianity is historical, and it is factual. Christianity is the truth, and I take my oath on it. Next time, I will discuss why.
“And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless, and so is your faith.” – I Corinthians 15:14

Shabbat, September 6, 2019
Friday evening dinner (Erev Shabbat) was wonderful as always! Good singing, food and fellowship!
Shabbat study included messages from a couple of the young men here on the scripture reading which covered Deut. 16:18-21:9, Isa. 51:12-52:12 and John 14:9-20. Aaron who is married with 3 boys and another baby on the way spoke about where Jesus (Yeshua) is in this reading? The most recognized verse is Deut. 18:17 which says, “I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him.” Jeshua certainly was a fulfillment of this prophecy. The portion in John 14:10 says, “The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.” Peter quoted Moses in Acts 3:22 as did Stephen in Acts 7:37 confirming Jeshua as the prophet Moses spoke about.
He also so spoke about Deut. 19:20 where God wanted them to “hear and fear”. Although God is full of compassion, lovingkindness, mercy and forgiveness, He is also a God of righteous judgment, and He want us to hear and fear Him and then grow in the love of God. This is the beginning of a relationship of understanding God. God says to remove the evil from amongst us and not to pity the evil person. You cannot disconnect a person from what he has done. Each persons actions affect the whole community and at times that means the evil person is to be put to death according to God.
The last part of his message was about really living your life for God and having the boldness to do so. This comes from having the power of the Holy Spirit within us and leading us to do the Father’s will. We see examples of this in Acts 4:31, 4:13. Peter and John were filled with boldness. The world cannot receive the spirit of truth. Often we hear the phrase that we should hate the sin but love the sinner. But actually scripture says God hates all evildoers (Psalms 5:5). God desires all to repent. The truth is foolishness to the world. Paul asked, “Should we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not!” Romans 6:1-2. The reading today in Deut. 18:13 says “be blameless”. We should heed the words of Jeshua as the work of God in us, a changed life from being sinners to walking in righteousness is one of God’s greatest works! Here in the land we see the incredible work of God as spoken of by Jeremiah, “‘the days are coming’, says YHVH, ‘that it shall no more be said, ‘The LORD lives who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt,’ but, ‘The LORD lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north and from all lands where He had driven them them.’” This is becoming evident to many, but has just begun. Is the power of God evident in that we are living a changed life?
Zach spoke next who is the father of 4 sons, one daughter and another baby on the way. The blessing of children is all around us here at HaYovel and in Israel. I love walking through the streets of Jerusalem and seeing families walking around with usually a minimum of four children. The Waller parents, here at HaYovel, who have 11 children, 8 who are married, have 25 grandchildren and six more on the way! Psa. 127:5 says “children are a gift from God...how blessed is the man who has his quiver full of them.” The Wallers believed God! And so do the Jews. I’m humbled by this outlook. But that is not what Zach spoke about, that was just my insert of something I have learned to think differently about since the time I was having children. Children in Jerusalem...

Zach spoke about Godly authority in a family and in a community of believers. He did a good job explaining the appropriateness of it, and suggested that people should look up to those who are their elders and have a personal mentor in their life. The younger would need to ask the older to be their mentor and often because of insecurities and shame we as people are not willing to do so. It would, however, help to create a healthier environment.
After lunch we had a few hours to relax before ladies bible study and men’s study at 4 pm. The ladies were still taking time to share their individual stories that we began last week. Then we all took our Sabbath walk around the camp before dinner. Here’s a few pictures I took. The big sprawling cities are Arab and the small settlements on top of the far mountains are settlements like Elon Moreh.

After dinner, Tommy Waller spoke to us. Here are some notes I took from his talk. In the reading this morning God speaks to Israel saying, “When you come into the land which YHVH your God is giving you...” (Deuteronomy 18:9), He then gives instructions about how his people are to live. Paul speaks about these same “abominations” in Galatians 5:19-21 saying if you practice such things you will not inherit the kingdom of God. Paul says these are against God’s law, but the fruits of the spirit in verses 22-23 are not. Paul was speaking about our inheritance of the kingdom along with Israel, which is the physical inheritance that was promised to Israel. (Eph. 2:12)
Yeshua was the prophet Moses foretold, and the apostles spoke of him as the fulfillment of the Prophet to come. (Deut. 18:17, Acts 3:22, 7:37) God’s warning to Israel about false prophets was that they would teach against the commandments of God. Jeshua was not a false prophet. He said in Matt. 5:17, “Do not think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets, I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.” And in John 5:46 “for if you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me.” He always spoke his Fathers words, which means he upheld the commandments and laws of God. Picture of at Torah scroll.

He taught his disciple to pray “thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” God’s kingdom is already in heaven, it is the kingdom of heaven that we pray to be here on earth. That’s a kingdom with God as king and his Torah/instruction as the way mankind will live. Many churches have taught and some still teach what is called “replacement theology” meaning the church has replaced Israel. They believe the prophesies and promises that God made to Israel are null and void for Israel and are about the church. This completely disconnects God’s promises to the land and law of God. This is why the instruction of God as we read in Deuteronomy 18:9 doesn’t affect people in replacement theology.
There is a saying currently that “love wins” meaning it doesn’t matter what you do. Abortion, homosexuality, fornication, adultery...it’s all okay, because “love wins”. Well, according to God, who does not change, and who Yeshua never spoke against, it does matter. God says in Deut. 18:10 “you shall not make your son or daughter pass through the fire”. The pagan belief was to sacrifice their children in the fire praying Molech would save them. Also those who did not want their children could sacrifice them to Molech. How does this play out in our society today. Abortion happens because mothers have lost their love for their children. What God says is an abomination is still that. Are perhaps other ways we pass our children through the fire by not really protecting them from the evil of this world? Maybe by what they see on media, or elsewhere and we just hope and pray that they will make it through okay. Or do we protect our children from the evil in this world.
The true prophets spoke about the rebuilding of the tabernacle of David. Amos 9:11 says “on that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David which has fallen down, and repair its damages, I will raise up its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old.” Haggai 2:4-7 speaks about God shaking all the nations, and He says, “I will come to the desire of all nations, and I will fill this temple with glory”. Jeshua was zealous for the temple and it’s holiness as he drove out the moneychangers who were desecrating the house of God, saying “it is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves.’” (Matt. 21:13) He was quoting Isaiah 56:6-7 where it says “my house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations”.

The prophets foretold the rebuilding of the temple and the Jews believe the Messiah will come and sit on the throne of David. They are surprised when we say we also believe the Messiah will come and sit on the throne of David, and that we believe it is Jeshua the Messiah. (Luke 1:32) The Jews all have their Rabbi’s that they look to as their teacher, and they will say, Rabbi (fill in the blank) is my Rabbi. We say “Jeshua is our rabbi”. Mary called him that (John 20:16). He was a Rabbi and his disciples were his followers. That is still the way it is in Judaism today. Jeshua, our Rabbi, always agreed with the word of God taught in the Torah. If we follow our Rabbi, Jeshua, we will also agree with the Torah. The Jews are praying, hoping and preparing for the Temple to be rebuilt. Is it possible God will use them and the nations to rebuild the temple, as prophesied, so that Jeshua the Messiah can rule?
The end of another great Shabbat with inspirational teachings, great food and fellowship!

Gathering the New Israel: Readings for 14th Sunday of Ordinary Time (OT)
In the Readings for this Sunday, Jesus continues his final journey, his fateful “death march” toward Jerusalem (Luke 9 – 19, the “Travel Narrative”) that began formally in Luke 9:51. The past several Sundays have foreshadowed Jesus’ coming suffering and death, but this Sunday we get a reprieve as themes of suffering recede into the background. We are temporarily caught up in the joy of Jesus' ministry, as he assembles around himself a congregation of disciples who constitute a spiritual “Jerusalem.” In the healing ministry of Jesus and his disciples, we see a fulfillment of certain prophecies of peace and restoration to the “holy city” of the LORD.
1. The First Reading is Is 66:10-14c:
Thus says the LORD: Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad because of her, all you who love her; exult, exult with her, all you who were mourning over her! Oh, that you may suck fully of the milk of her comfort, that you may nurse with delight at her abundant breasts! For thus says the LORD: Lo, I will spread prosperity over Jerusalem like a river, and the wealth of the nations like an overflowing torrent. As nurslings, you shall be carried in her arms, and fondled in her lap; as a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; in Jerusalem you shall find your comfort.
When you see this, your heart shall rejoice and your bodies flourish like the grass; the LORD’s power shall be known to his servants.
This text comes almost at the end of the Book of Isaiah, concluding a long section (Isa 56-66) that foresees the fate of Jerusalem and the people of God in the future, in days to come. Reading through these chapters, one finds again and again that there will be division of God’s people at some point in the future (from the perspective of the prophet, c. 700 BC) into two groups who experience very different fates. Stern judgment will fall on the unfaithful among God's people, whereas the faithful will experience great joy at the restoration their city and people. This faithful group is called “my servants” (65:9,13-14), the “remnant” (46:3), and they also receive a “new name”(62:2; 63:15). They are hated by their own brethren for the sake of the LORD's name (66:5), but God will vindicate them and judge their persecutors (66:6). Nonetheless, this division within the people of God, resulting in a righteous remnant and a rebellious, persecuting majority does not mean a narrowing of God's plan of salvation. Instead, there will be successive waves of mission to the nations (Gentiles) in which God's glory will be proclaimed and the nations gathered to Zion along with the remnant of the people of Israel (66:18-21).
This Sunday's Reading is situated in the midst of this larger framework. The faithful of God's people, those who “love Jerusalem” and all that Jerusalem stands for (the true worship of God) will see the restoration of the city. They will experience her as a tender mother who nourishes her children.
In the Gospel Reading, Jesus is assembling around himself a “new Jerusalem,” a new community of properly ordered worship. As he sends out the seventy-two on a mission to preach Good News and heal the sick, the people of Israel experience God's love as like that of a tender mother, and they themselves have the opportunity to join the “new Jerusalem” by accepting the preaching of the disciples.
The prophets frequently personify Jerusalem as a young princess from the House of David under the title “the daughter of Zion.” In this way we perceive lady Jerusalem as a type of our Blessed Mother, the most perfect embodiment of the Davidic royal daughter. Though the Marian dimension of the text is not developed in this Sunday's Readings, we may understand Isaiah's prophecy as also being fulfilled in the tender spiritual care Our Lady provides to those who love her Son. It pleases God to express the maternal aspects of his love for us through the intercessions of the Theotokos.
2. The Responsorial Psalm is Ps 66:1-3, 4-5, 6-7, 16, 20:
R. (1) Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.
Shout joyfully to God, all the earth, sing praise to the glory of his name; proclaim his glorious praise. Say to God, “How tremendous are your deeds!” R. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.
“Let all on earth worship and sing praise to you, sing praise to your name!” Come and see the works of God, his tremendous deeds among the children of Adam. R. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.
He has changed the sea into dry land; through the river they passed on foot; therefore let us rejoice in him. He rules by his might forever. R. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.
Hear now, all you who fear God, while I declare what he has done for me. Blessed be God who refused me not my prayer or his kindness! R. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.
Psalm 66 falls in Book II of the Psalter (Pss 42–72), which is the most triumphant of the five books of the Psalter save the last (Book V). Unlike Book I (Pss 3–41), Book II is not dominated by psalms of individual lament, that is, complaint psalms reflecting the worshiper in distress. Instead, several psalms in Book II reflect the glory of Zion (=Jerusalem), the Temple-sanctuary, and the Davidic reign. Psalm 66 occurs in a subsection of Psalms (Pss 65–68) that reflect on God's great acts of salvation, and call on all the nations to praise God, especially at his sanctuary in Zion. This psalm provides us appropriate words of response after hearing of the salvation of Zion/Jerusalem prophesied by Isaiah in the First Reading.
3. The Second Reading is Gal 6:14-18:
Brothers and sisters:
May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. For neither does circumcision mean anything, nor does uncircumcision, but only a new creation. Peace and mercy be to all who follow this rule and to the Israel of God.
From now on, let no one make troubles for me; for I bear the marks of Jesus on my body.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers and sisters. Amen.
This is the ending of St. Paul's Letter to the Galatians, from which we have been reading selections over the past few weeks. The main point of this Epistle has been to emphasize that we are saved by faith in Jesus Christ (that is, by entering into the New Covenant which he embodies), not by the observation of laws and ceremonies of the Old Covenant (that is, the covenant mediated by Moses and finalized in the Book of Deuteronomy). In this passage, Paul uses “circumcision” and “uncircumcision” as loaded terms. “Circumcision” refers to the entire lifestyle characterized by observation of the purity laws of the Old Testament. “Uncircumcision” refers to the lifestyle lived by pagan Gentiles before their conversion. Neither Old Testament religion nor paganism “mean anything” anymore--that is, neither is salvific. The only thing that is meaningful is “a new creation,” which is Paul's expression summing up the fullness of the New Covenant established by Christ: “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation!” (2 Cor 5:17).
The immediately following phrase should be translated in this way: “Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule, that is, to the Israel of God.” St. Paul identifies the Church as the “Israel of God,” that is, as the spiritual Israel, for “he is not a real Jew who is one outwardly, nor is true circumcision something external and physical. He is a Jew who is one inwardly, and real circumcision is a matter of the heart, spiritual and not literal. His praise is not from men but from God” (Rom 2:28-29). Paul interprets Israel in spiritual rather than ethnic terms. This interpretation is fundamental to Christian identity and faith, even if simultaneously the Church does not deny a continuing theological significance to the community of ethnic Jews. Paul explains the continued significance of ethnic Israel in Romans 9–11, and the Catechism explains further in §839–840. St. Paul's understanding of the Church as the “Israel of God” also provides the necessary hermeneutical principle for applying the First Reading to the Church. “Jerusalem” as the “mother city” (Gk metropolis) of the “Israel of God” now applies to the Church in her ministers and sacraments. The flow of the sacraments from the Church to her children, especially the Eucharist, is the “mother's milk” with which Jerusalem nourishes her young.
Jesus is a “Jew of Jews,” the embodiment of Israel, and the Church is his body. Therefore, the Church is the Israel of God. In a special way, St. Paul's physical body was conformed to the body of Christ. He says “I bear the marks of Jesus on my body.” This may refer to all the wounds and scars Paul bore due to his many tortures (2 Cor 11:22-29), badges of honor in his service to Christ. Or perhaps it indicates St. Paul was the first stigmatist in the history of the Church.
4. The Gospel is Lk 10:1-12, 17-20:
At that time the Lord appointed seventy-two others whom he sent ahead of him in pairs to every town and place he intended to visit. He said to them, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest. Go on your way; behold, I am sending you like lambs among wolves. Carry no money bag, no sack, no sandals; and greet no one along the way. Into whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this household.’ If a peaceful person lives there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you. Stay in the same house and eat and drink what is offered to you, for the laborer deserves his payment. Do not move about from one house to another. Whatever town you enter and they welcome you, eat what is set before you, cure the sick in it and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God is at hand for you.’ Whatever town you enter and they do not receive you, go out into the streets and say, ‘The dust of your town that clings to our feet, even that we shake off against you.’ Yet know this: the kingdom of God is at hand. I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom on that day than for that town.”
The seventy-two returned rejoicing, and said, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us because of your name.” Jesus said, “I have observed Satan fall like lightning from the sky. Behold, I have given you the power to ‘tread upon serpents’ and scorpions and upon the full force of the enemy and nothing will harm you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice because the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
The role of the seventy (or seventy-two) disciples, in addition to the Twelve Apostles, is frequently overlooked in our study of the New Testament, but it was important. Jesus was setting up the New Israel in his ministry, and in addition to the Twelve, who were simultaneously the New Patriarchs, the New Tribal Princes (see Num 7), and the New Officers of Israel (see 1 Kgs 4), Jesus also chose seventy others, who correspond to Moses' seventy elders over the tribes (Num 11:16-30). Just as Moses had twelve tribal princes and seventy elders (Numbers 7; 11:16-30), the New Moses has the Twelve Apostles and Seventy Disciples.
The mission of the seventy in Luke 10 is similar to, but clearly distinct from, the mission of the Twelve in Matt 10:5-15 and Luke 9:1-6. Although the passages are similar, they refer to two distinct events. The Twelve are explicitly sent only to Jewish territory (Matt 10:5) and for that reason are given no instruction about how to deal with Gentile or Samaritan food. The Seventy, however, are sent to Gentile and Samaritan territory, so Jesus has to instruct them explicitly on how to handle conscience issues regarding the observation of Kosher laws. Gentiles did not keep kosher, and Samaritans had different kosher regulations. Jesus tells them not to be concerned about this: “eat whatever they provide” (10:7) without asking questions of conscience.
The Seventy are part of the nucleus of the Church, the “Israel of God.” Better, as office holders and official representatives, they represent the New Jerusalem of the First Reading, that is, the ministering Church that cares for her members. Their role is analogous to that of the diaconate: they serve under and in support of Christ (the great episkopos) and the Apostles (the presbuteroi). They go before to prepare the way in towns which Jesus and the Twelve would later visit. So their ministry was preparatory, focused on preaching and attending to material needs (healings). Nonetheless, they also participate in the ministry of spiritual deliverance against the demonic.
Jesus gives the Seventy specific instructions based on the time and culture in which they ministered. These specifics may be impractical elsewhere: it would be difficult to evangelize Scandinavia barefoot, for example. Nonetheless, the general principle of apostolic zeal and trust in God for material provision should continue to characterize the Church's evangelistic mission. The Church still needs people who will go without the comforts of a bourgeois lifestyle (like having health insurance and a 401K) in order to evangelize in a direct and immediate way. The Catholic Church needs preachers, persons who will proclaim Jesus to people who haven't heard of him or have forgotten him, not just lapsed church-goers. The mission of the Seventy was accompanied by deeds of power. Perhaps one of the reasons deeds of power seem rare these days is the lack of bold action based on faith among those of us who call ourselves Catholic. Heaven and hell are still real. The Gospel of Jesus Christ still confronts every human being. Preaching and evangelistic mission are just as necessary now as they were two thousand years ago. This Sunday let's pray for revival of the Church's evangelistic zeal, beginning in our own parishes.
