This is a video dedicated to drawing monster hands, I’m thinking it the first of many, because of the variety. This is something I’ve been thinking about for a while.

Hi guys, how’s it going, I’m Enrique and welcome to Easy Things to Draw for beginners, today I’m going to talk about how to draw hands, essentially on how to draw monster hands. I’ll try to give you, many tips as I can. Before I start I also want to tell you something, this tutorial it was one that I had on my channel Sketch Monster, but I’ve been changing the videos from that channel to this, Easy Things to Draw.

Since I want to get rid of that channel, so it’s going to be pretty common for you to start finding tutorials with a monster theme around here. Apart from that, I would also be very grateful if you could support me on my Patreon page, since that way I will have more time to make videos and tutorials.

With all that said, let’s start with this tutorial. I’ll give you some quick tips on how to draw hands in general. What I like to do is break the hand in segments, for example, I start with a square for the palm, a kind of triangle for four of the fingers and then another form, like a type of rectangle for the thumb.Cartoon monster hands are great. 

Some of the shapes are similar to triangles or a kind of warped triangle, but those are the types of shapes that come to my head when I’m drawing. for me, thinking that the hand is made up of segments, help me to understand the shape that I want for the hand, it makes it easier.

Another advice I can give you, let’s make it with an example. If you draw the silhouette of a normal hand, you will notice that the middle finger is the longest, one thing I like to do is draw the knuckle of the middle finger, a little bit higher than the others and I draw the rest with a lower height.

Another thing about hands and several of you have asked me this, is about those fatty pads that we have on the back of our hands, we even have a very large one in the thumb area and some part of our palm. Those fatty pads are there, with the reason to have a softer part to grab things.

What I recommend to do at the moment when you are drawing monster hand drawings, is thinking of all those softer parts, you can use your own hands as a reference, you can also think of these figures as large shapes. You can use this at the moment that you’re shading or kind of like a general hand construction. How to draw easy things.

To explain this in a better way, I will do it by drawing a monster hand and as I said before you can use your hand as a guide, in case you need to know how it is from a specific angle. Also, you can always take a picture or look for one online and guide yourself from that. So the first thing I do is mark the size that will have the palm, I do that with a square or a similar shape and then  I mark the knuckles, I also start thinking what position it will have the fingers.

As I said earlier, the knuckle of the middle finger it will be the highest and apart from that, this finger is also the longest of all, so you should remember when you are drawing hands that each finger has is a different size. Then I’ll add a pad on the side of the thumb and continue with the Radius and Ulna.

A way that helps me remember which side is each bone from, is thinking that the Radius is in the inside and the Ulna on the outside, you can also play with your hand a little bit, put it in different positions so that way you learn more the appearance that it has and you can replicate it better in your drawings. Both bones are of the wrist and I have seen that the Ulna, in a lot of people sticks out.

Then I define more the position where I want the fingers to be and eraser what I don’t need from the drawing, you know, the lines that I use before to guide me. I define a little bit more the pad that I had previously made and I also make more noticed the knuckles of the hand.

Another segment of the finger construction is these middle sections, they go from middle section-bone. So, in some parts of the finger, the bone will stick out, this happens more when you’re bending your fingers because when they’re straight you don’t notice very much. You can use your own hands to count how many of these middle section-bone are on each finger, also this is for the outside part of the fingers, in the inside is all fatty pads that crush each other. Since this is the hand of a monster, I’m going to add some long nails.How to Draw Hands, 

Then I’ll define more the wrist, normally biggest and scarier creatures have a bigger wrist, such as Hulk or Werewolf, although this can depend.

I continue by adding shade on the wrist and to do this I’m using a regular pencil, the one that I’m using is a 6B and graphite which is just a regular pencil. I also add a little bit of shade to mark the bones, as I have said several times you can use your hand to see which parts of the handstand out.

I continued drawing the fingers when you’re drawing a folded finger this scrunching together, so you have to remember that. At this point is only necessary to add the long nails, to erase any excess and add more shadows to define some parts and this also gives more dimension to the drawing.

Although what I draw today is more like a human hand with long nails, you can use the structure and add the elements that you need for your creature. So the paleo diet is a conceptual way of going back to more basics. Of course if you look at the information on paleo diets, people have things that cave men would never have eaten like muffins made out of wild grains. I mean I highly doubt if they were having too much of that. But the idea of a paleo diet is taking away all those things in modern life that could be causing trouble and going back to a basic diet which is very similar to the cave man diet which is very similar to the Mediterranean diet. Only the paleo diet would probably have almost no grains, almost no beans and of course no gluten which is a grain. So this takes away a lot of the products that were causing trouble for people in various ways.

So there is definitely some sense to that but you got to watch how people are putting that together and what they are allowing in it. Certainly most paleo diets are not going to work if they are vegan because I don’t think many cave men were able to avoid eating what the kill was eating even that only occurred every month. So for a lot of people getting away from those things and getting on to a diet that is filled with fresh fruits and vegetable and fresh meat and fish could be a big bonus in helping their skin.

Hey guys, how you been, I’m Enrique and welcome to Easy Things to Draw. Today I’ll teach you how to draw baby Groot, you can find the pencils that I use to draw this drawing in the video description on my YouTube channel, but if you don’t have time for that, I use a kind of charcoal pencil, these get dark pretty fast so you have to be careful with them. I also use the eraser from the back of my Mechanical Pencil, I like this because it is white, as some eraser with colors can dye the paper, although as I have said many times, you can use the materials of your prefer. If there are any questions, do not hesitate to ask me.

Also, if you want it, you can draw following the video tutorial with me, but you should pause if it goes too fast, since it is sped up three times. If you want to see it in real-time, you can find that in the description on YouTube, but unlike the video on my main channel, the real-time video has no comment.

Having said all this, let’s start with the drawing. The first thing I want to do is draw a general position of baby Groot, this is without much detail because that I will be adding it later. So I add the shape of his head, body, his feet, which remind me of the feet of an elephant. Once I have done the general position that I want, I think about this body, for me, from the head down, it’s an adult body, the head is what gives baby Groot the appearance of a child and this it also looks like an emoji.

The bigger you make the head, it will look more like a child. I find interesting that the eyes are quite small or normal considering the portion of the head. One thing a part of all this, is that Groot is one of my favorite characters since I love the design of him in the first movie.

Then it continued with the neck and I have to make sure to connect the connectors in the right way. As I was saying earlier the body of baby Groot is more like an adult since you can find pecs and that sort of thing. I also want to add deeper eyes and I do this by making them a little bit darker.

After doing this, I star detailing more the body parts. The body of baby Groot doesn’t look so human but still follows the anatomy of one, for example, baby Groot possesses Deltoid, Biceps, triceps, etc. I darken the eyes a little more because I want them to pop out and I also add a smile on the face, which reminds me of the emoji that smiles.

Now I try to figure out how to draw the shoulders and I detail again the muscles of the chest, which are quite similar to humans only with the difference that I add these branches and the appearance of a tree, like if they were made of wood. When you look at the extra things I’ve put in, it seems like it doesn’t follow the human proportion, but it does, it’s pretty close to doing it…

I continued adding a little bit of shade, this gives more dimension to the drawing. With this drawing I’m adding more elements than I normally do and also I’m concentrating more on certain areas, for example, right now I haven’t drawn anything in the hands and this is not normal in me, because when I normally draw, I like everything to be gradual, you know, I like adding details little by little on the whole drawing I don’t usually concentrate on just one area. Another thing that I do now, is trying to fade or alter the darkness in some way because to me, it looks a little bit like a massive body.How to draw baby groot step by step easy.

Then I go down to his feet and interconnect some pieces. All the pieces have to relate to each other. For an experienced artist or the person who designed this character is easier to draw, but for someone with less experience, it has to be very careful to not leave the muscles like a pile of wood.

It continued with its rib cage and this part is not anatomically correct, because it looks like a explode tree.

Right now I’m just adding details and darken some parts, you know, adding some shadow patterns to make everything look a little more organized, that way you can differentiate each part and also know what’s going on, I also do this by adding halftones and some parts leave them completely dark.

I still have to define more the hands and I don’t want them to look like the hands of Pinocchio. For this character, it needs to have rivets and more dimension. Then I cleaned a little bit with the eraser since the pencil of charcoal can leave some dirties.

Then I add a thicker line around the contour of baby Groot, this is something that looks good in some drawings and I like how it looks in this, especially in the head. This is something that I usually do with marker, but for this drawing, I wanted to do it with a pencil.How to Draw Baby Groot Face.
