Every pokemon trivia thing loves to connect Hitmonlee to a Blemmyae and some "deep dives" will go into it like it was the actual intention, and there is so patently no connection there at all. Hitmonlee is a just a humanoid with a simple potato body and eyes on it, that is not the same concept as a human being whose face is in its chest. That is not Hitmonlee's focus at all. A head or face sunken into the body is a very simple design trait to give a monster and has been done thousands of times outside blemmieyayes. In Pokemon, if they're thinking of anything with that silhouette, it's more likely they're thinking of Jamila from Ultraman.

Amok Time Toys has added Humanoids from the Deep its Monstarz line of retro-style action figures. It stands 4" tall and has six points of articulation, including a hinged jaw.

Priced at $20 each, three versions are available: standard (limited to 650), yellow glow (limited to 250), and red glow (limited to 200). The original creature was designed by Rob Bottin (The Thing, RoboCop).
