Just wanted to hear other people opinion about what they thought of the new storyline for wuwa.

Long story short I have been hearing people saying they prefer the old storyline when in reality the old story wasn't perfect. Sure it had good moments but it doesn't make up the fact the Rover was still being disrespected even after all the quests they have done for the people.

Considering the fact that Kuro games had 6 months to rework the whole story before their release date it make sense why the story is rushed both in the main story and Yinlin story. There were things that felt like they could've explained better and revise here and there but there were moments where I didn't enjoy the mainstream (Scar, Jiyan and the Battle of Jinzhou were my favorite parts).

My biggest issue about this whole conversation is that people keep bringing up Genshin and HSR storyline. Now there is nothing against these two stories as they are quite in their own way but what I hate about this comparison is that Hoyoverse has a total of 8 games (one of them being a dating sim) so they have alot of experience in making lore meanwhile Kuro Games only has a total of 3 games. This is unfair comparison if you ask me.

Another issue that I have is that most of the lore that Genshin and HSR that you want to know about isn't main story but from the side quests. These sides are so long and info dumping that many players just skip through everything or don't play the quest (Aranana quest is a prime example)

Now I don't know how true this is but as of right now Kuro Games are still working on all the bugs and issues that players are facing but they are still hiring writers to help with the story. If this is true we might have to wait for awhile for the story to be more clearer and better.

But that just my opinion I love the game I think the story could use some work but the game just got released two weeks ago so it hard to decide what will happen next and how the story goes.

i dont have anything to add bc i share the same thoughts as you. the story is a little weak but all the things considered you just mentioned, i have patience and hopes it gets better (since some ppl just looooove comparing hoyo and kuro; gnshn wasnt perfect either, inazuma was a mess before they had better writing for sumeru and i dont even wanna start with what the fuck ever was the luofu story but they COOKED w penacony and belobog). some sections like scar and the final battle was pretty cool

okay so i havent figured out Everything but this is most of what i can gather. sorry there arent links to specific references im not supposed to be doing this i need to be packing for uni 😭 but this is everything off the top of my head !

starting from the left wall theres the peep show poster which matty has said to be his favourite show in a reddit comment, idk what the streets poster is a reference to, the ghost on an island is an antichrist reference 'theres a ghost on this island' and then the petrol can is an its not living reference as 'danny works in a petrol station'

now the window/right wall has la poesie est dans la rue is etched into the tree and is an easter egg in quite a few music videos and is a reference to love it if we made it, the minion i assume is a reference to the deuxmoi thing of matty sending minion memes to a girl, and then a camera i assume is a general comment on the lack of privacy you get as a celebrity and 'house with just three walls' etc

the couch and table has matty smoking and chained to the couch as a reference to the consumption bit and could be reference to the idea that he is stuck in a position of his own doing, hann is a wizard i presume as a hobbit reference? and then the dubai and malaysia flags as he got banned,oxygen tank from consumption, cross due to the religious signposting on his ig story and a juxtaposition to his atheism, thesaurus for those big words, infinite jest as its referenced in sincerity is scary, wine, cigarettes, xanax as a reference to 'Xanax and a newport' in part of the band, i live cum mug from the problemattic, american flag as a lot of their music is informed by Americana especially on notes(? maybe also just because america)

then on the floor here theres the coke bottles as matty cannot be seen without one, the piss/apple juice from when he was spotted with gabbriette, the fox i saw on twitter means temptation so could be a very subtle hint towards temptation from porn and the right and so on, raw meat from consumption and its being 'swept under the rug' so could be a metaphor for matty being problematic and it being glossed over by him, hairdye as there was twitter rumour he dyed his grays and matty has previously said he would not, flame and wok box as the boys used to work there, typewriter from the typed up letters he used to do but u dont know what 'im not a beatnik im a catholic' is a reference to, true romance is one of mattys favourites and was a key inspiration for the robbers video

and last but not least, ross!!! who is also jesus as there were lots of memes surrounding him looking like jesus or being a personal jesus and so on, also could be to do with the problemattic post of ricky gervais on the cross for being an atheist, penguin!! because ross likes penguins, bees are a manchester symbol, beer, robber with the iconic 2014 shirt, greggs sausage roll i presume from when one got thrown onstage but also the twitter meme of 'i saw matty crying in x greggs' and then i think the last on is a mortal kombat character and nearly forgot but ross also has a lamp as he turned off the lamps at the end of when we are together during atvb on stage

Publisher involvement fear (image includes iron flame spoiler)

On reddit, someone posted their experience of meeting Rebecca Yarros. The thing that stood out to me, and my worst fear, is that the publisher pushed her to make a change!!!

And similar to sjm, RY says she tries to stay off tiktok and ignores theories so she doesn't become influenced but I doubt bloomsbury is avoiding us 😂 I hope they aren't trying to impact her writing even if they love the turmoil of the ship wars. Reddit is very e/riel heavy but I find instagram and tiktok are pretty even... fb seems to be more gwynriel/elucien. On sjms latest post, an e/riel comment has more than gwynriel but in previous posts the opposite is true. I would hate to believe that they would try to cater to fans but who knows.

What are your thoughts on Re:63 fic by Spriteanon?

(okay also gonna leave a link to spriteanon’s rezero fics here and the re:63 series here if anyone is interested!!! and please feel free to leave some nice comments if you enjoy <3)

hi anon!! :o okay quick disclaimer that i havent touched spriteanons re:63 fic in a Very Long Time but i read a few of their If route/spinoff fics and got to around somewhere in arc 3 of the main re:63 fic yes :o!! (i only havent touched it since because Time and my Uncontrollable Attention Span. i dont tend to read super long fics either—no hard feelings or anything i am just a student with adhd hah.)

also quick explanation for anyone else stumbling across this—re:63 is a long plotty multichapter fic series where subaru and a few other surprise characters are genderbent (i use “genderbend” here in the sense of. biological sex and gender were bent yes). the fic starts from arc 1 and then comes with Major Divergences throughout the entire story. its a very solid read!!

but yeah so from what i do remember, i really enjoyed the fic, yeah. if i did read it again recently + caught up all the way to the current arc of the story (arc 4 i believe) i might have minor criticisms here and there, but again theyd be minor, and big emphasis on might because i do think re:63 is incredible (also i 1. try to adhere to fanfic courtesy of not giving unsolicited criticism directly to the author anyway wkfn and 2. im very light on most fic because. well we are All writing for free). and spriteanon has wrote more than a million words for this, all of which are Very polished with a solid plan for each arc. the fic’s such a labor of love its absolutely one of the best long form multichapter fics in this fandom, in my opinion. the writing style is very precise, i think, while still hitting Hard for every emotional beat and i think they generally get characters right. it’s a perfect balance.

i think what i most enjoyed about spriteanon’s fic though was its take on fem subaru.

the thing with fembaru takes in this fandom (though i see this also happen with fem reinhard takes as well)—im speaking for the english side of the fandom here by the way hah—is that sometimes writers tend to fall into this like. pitfall of being way too different with said now-female-character.

making a genderbend au does kind of show how you think of gender roles and gender and biological sex and all that, you know? not that thats a bad thing thats just an Inevitable fact given how intertwined these things can be irl and how a genderbend au will focus on these things in some way.

but like. genderswapping a character Is gonna change some things but its not usually gonna change Every Single Recognizable Trait in existence. sometimes people fall into pitfall of “this character is girl now” and forget to write her as a Person. they dont let her be as humanly “ugly” as how the character is in canon as a guy. and too many times i look at rezero genderbend fics or requests for genderbend fics in the rezero reddit fanfic ideas thread and fem subaru and reinhard are often genderswapped just to ship them with men (such as fembaru with regular reinhard or vice versa)—it does make me a little uncomfortable sometimes because 1. shipping the now fem character with another character of the same sex (such as fembaru x rem) doesnt really. Happen as much. it doesnt seem to be treated as a possibility that much?? or at least i havent seen it in fic. even though it Could Be, it’d just be less likely for Multiple Reasons (though of course correct me if im wrong if this ever happens in spriteanons fic akdndn) and 2. it feels like making a gay ship (like reinsuba) straight (ie reinsuba but one of them is the opposite sex now). which i have personal feelings on but i wont go too much into that hah.

BUT OKAY i digress i dont mean At All to go after authors who do any of this akndnd and spriteanon does have a few spinoff fics with fembaru x reinhard—all of which i ENJOYED, because 1. what i just said is a Personal Preference and 2. i dont mind it at all if its Well Written regardless (i have enjoyed a few other fembaru x reinhard fics too just bc they were well written yes!!). and spriteanons writing and handling of reinsubas dynamic is very very well written imo and i really liked reading through it. theyve written both fembaru and reinhard + subaru and fem reinhard together with a nuanced understanding of both characters, i think, and it absolutely still feels like Them. if that makes sense hah. like im not thinking “this feels like whole other people”, im thinking “this IS reinhard and subaru” regardless of gender. which is good because the former might take me out of the story a little bit T^T

and also i understand people are gonna have different takes on how genderbend aus would go, and i DO enjoy seeing variety in this yes!! :o (i cant really judge either because my old genderbend au fic is very. its different, lets just say hah.)

also spriteanon is Very good at showcasing subarus positive and negative qualities, i think. and spriteanon doesnt forget to show subarus npc/game/genre awareness-related mentality (in another way this time, given the slight differences in female lead isekai stories) either!! it was very interesting to read for Sure, and i appreciated how well they showed the trauma and horror in the story and showed how subaru understandably responds to it. fembaru feels Human here and like this is still subaru, which i think should be the goal yes. character is Very Important. and subaru can be very hard to get even close to right in fics so i gotta commend spriteanon in general for all the hard work on this fic hah.

and also i enjoyed the exploration of another subaru hobby (music!!) (which iirc is probably also a canon detail anyway?? but its expanded on in re:63??) very interesting. not much to say on that bc i dont Entirely remember every detail of this i just thought it was a fun take yes.

also i did love seeing the other characters that were genderbent. that was very fun. i kinda wish there were More just because i enjoyed it a lot. i liked seeing what changed and what didnt. though iirc spriteanon has some sort of interactive quality with some parts of the fic where they put up polls to vote on some aspects of the story?? so maybe some reoccurring readers voted on some of who gets to be genderbent and who doesnt hah.

and also the canon divergences in the story are Interesting. i was really kept on my toes a bit fr. i think out of what i read arc 2 was ABSOLUTELY my favorite for sure. it was such an amazing read and in a few aspects i enjoyed it More than canon arc 2!! not that canon arc 2 is bad (i enjoyed canon arc 2 A Lot) but re:63’s arc 2 has such Fascinating things in it…. hah i wont go into too much detail though its Spoilery.

but either way. re:63 is a very strong and solid fic imo. i really enjoyed it overall!! i might return to the fic someday to read through it from start to finish—not sure if i ever will but id have a fun time i think hah. its an absolute gem and you can see all the work spriteanon puts into it!!

I am a sports fan and f1 is one of the sports i like. I am interesting in the sport and i have a reddit account to speak with people about it and share my opinions about it (f1 as a sport related opinions). Idk how it is in other countries so i will speak about mine and i will try not to share where i am from, if you are from the same country as me plz dont say it. I started watching it when i was a teenage with some gaps in between because of school/uni. I LOVED our commentators and how they were telling us about the cars, the stategies etc. Even if i couldnt understant a lot of things. A couple years ago (max 3? i think that was the time it become more famous and i think the management changed? im not sure for that) an a major channel got the right to broadcast it and everything changed. They speak about the drivers not as drivers but as celebrities, how they spent their weekends (we saw that charles and pierre went on the Taylor concert and they talked about it), about their summer vaccations etc and about the girlfriends (Kelly was mentioned a couple times) etc

They all saw how popular f1 become and everyone wants their 5 minutes of fame to be 20. They will do anything to be relevant because they saw that being famous and have followers means something to the team and their ego. Even if someone is good what matters is if they will get them fame and followers. 6 years ago only the people who watched the sport knew the drivers and at least i didnt care about their personal life. It was (fake names so people wont come to me) Peter and Juian the X team drivers and i supported the team not them because i speretated the driver from the person outside of the sport. Now everytime i open instagram,tiktok or even the news i see articles/videos of them and their gfs or intereviews where they dont do anything to me, they dont say something i can learn and use to be a better peson or thirst trups (i butchered it sorry)

so it’s unfinished only in the sense that there’s a sequel i’m still writing, but i can tell you that the sequel is set in dubai and it’s two parts — one rashda, one armand 👁️👁️ also a fun fact is that the first fic is obviously POV dani so from her perspective, it’s a hot and kind of weird hookup. from ARMAND’s perspective, however, she is like a watery mess at the brink of tears of the whole time. she’s reached her limit. she’s dani deprived. i think in this universe, armand probably “let her go” and wiped her memories when she found out dani was pregnant from a hookup or something? idk. it’s not super fleshed out bc it’s primarily a pornfic lmao. but it wasnt because of an argument, dani didnt ask to leave, and armand didnt want to let her go. kind of like my odysseus in white silk universe — i dont think thats what happened in the show, but it’s easy to write lmao

Another Day, Another Plagiarist and Leaker On Reddit

I thought by now people would know I have eyes and ears everywhere. So here I am yet again having to deal with yet another plagiarist. And this one is even worst....they're also a leaker! Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, this dumbass decided to play dumb and pretend they didn't know about my blog until someone else on Reddit told them about it.

Following that, this person tried to make it seem like they didn't take and leak stuff from my blog by including a link to my blog in their post after the fact because they didn't want to get downvoted...HAHAHA HILARIOUS!!!!

I AM FREAKING LIVID!! Let's take a look at plagiarism and leaking at its finest!

No one and I mean absolutely no one besides me had came up with the Naksu=Jin Bu Yeon theory. Another dead giveaway this person has been following on Twitter as well as on Tumblr is their usage of "JBY". Most people refer to Jin Bu Yeon as either Jin Bu Yeon, Bu Yeon, or Buyeon. I, on the other hand, sometimes refer to her as JBY.

"Mama Jin" is also a nickname I frequently use both here on my Tumblr account as well as Twitter. Word of advice, if you want to get away with plagiarizing someone's work...YOU MIGHT NOT WANT TO USE THE NAME NICKNAMES AS THEY DO...JUST SAYING.

In my original post for Eps 23-24, I had said 200 years ago and then in a more recent post on my Twitter, I corrected myself and said 203 years later. See below.

This person also decided to say 203 years ago in a response to another comment. If I hadn't corrected myself when I posted on Twitter...this idiot wouldn't have caught it either.

You can go and see for yourself on Reddit how this person pretended they didn't know about my blog and then took stuff from it. It's quite hilarious to read their comments and responses since they have no clue what they are talking about. There are many things I did not explicitly state in my blog posts because quite frankly I was too lazy to type more than I already had. I'm glad I didn't because it leaves people like this dumbasses unable to fully explain stuff when asked.

ok listen. not to be an old man shaking my cane on my porch going, "kids these days" but the whole people inserting fics into AIs really is the final nail in a big line of symptoms that points to a problematic mentality in fandom these days--i dont particularly like using the word problematic considering how the internet has poisoned its meaning, but that's exactly what it is in this case

people, particularly the newer generations that are now growing up in modern day fandom, are so used to a content-centric internet regulated by fast-paced capitalism and viewer algorithms that they really forget that the roots of fandom itself is based on community. its obvious by the way they'd much rather have a fic finished by any sort of means, even unethical means instead of, yknow, actually engaging with the fans who all write purely out of passion or even creating for themselves.

and thats really the core of the matter i think. people dont want to engage anymore, and we're now seeing the bigger consequences of that.

ive seen that in that--when talking to my younger peers--there's an alarming uptick of people who dont read WIPs anymore, and prefer to filter them out so they can only look at completed stories.

i see it in the way that people are reblogging and commenting less and less, and prefer to stick to giving likes and kudos which, while appreciated, only gives the barest of feedbacks to the actual person behind the work itself.

i see this in the death of forums and independent spaces for community to talk to each other on the internet (save for a few exceptions like maybe reddit or discord or tumblr)

and i see it in the way that people are treating fandom artists of any kind like influencers, and their art like content when theyre really not and its really, really not.

fandom creators are not influencers. they can't be because theyre not getting paid for uploading any type of fanwork. because of the murky legality of it, almost all of it has to be entirely a labor of love, hence the reason why A03 doesn't allow you to upload commissioned fanworks or link to donation sites like patreon or kofi, and also why places like society6 and redbubble are very iffy on you selling self-made merch of any official series. thats a way to get sued by major corporations really fast.

which means that any type of fanwork uploaded does not work like a book series or a complete television series that you consume on netflix. it logtiscally cant be, because its all done on the artist's own time, and in the cases of physical materials like posters, stickers or zines, with their own money. so that means that a lot of the stuff you see uploaded is going to be uploaded piece by piece, at its own pace.

thats the whole reason fanworks need engagement. anything made ever out of love is a marathon race fueled by schedule availability, money and creative willpower, and very few people can make it far on their own. but if you have a whole bunch of people commenting on each others works, sending messages, theories, creating fan-made events like "[x ship] week" or even making fanworks of the fanworks, that is a big motivation to keep creating. its easy for fan content even, because other people are already familiar with the original work, so you're not creating something from scratch

the whole reason we post WIPs (aside from passion and a general sense of "hey look at this idea! isn't it cool?") is to get feedback that we can feed into the cycle of creation, but if that integral part of the cycle is empty, then creating will only last as long as our own interest does, or we'll move on to places or fandom where more people are engaging. and it takes a lot to really snuff that need for creation we all have, but it can come to that point for a discouraged creator

if you're frustrated by an unfinished project, dont steal their works plain and simple. and yes, if you're inserting a fic directly into AI, you're basically stealing it and then giving it away to major corporations for nothing. but you dont have to turn into that artist's personal cheerleader either (altho if you did we wouldnt mind) even just commenting is enough

ask your friends to comment. share the fic with a server. write about a line that stuck with you, write theories about things you think will happen in the next chapters, write about how you like how they did [x] with a character's reaction instead of [y]. heck, if you're able to, make a fanfic of a scene you like! some fanart! a comic even! no matter how old a work, people will always be happy to see people taking the time to engage with their work in a more meaningful way than a heart button, and it doesn't take much to stoke a passion that people already had for the original material.

i promise you, whatever is made with human hands will be infinitely better than whatever was stolen with some crummy AI.

Yessss I heard that Neville had those experiences. The reddit one you mention sounds very interesting 😍

Tbh, I came to the law just because I wanted a text from a guy lol, but when I started reading more, it became more interesting how some people talk about manifesting things out of thin air or having these manifestations that are unbelievable to the human mind like what you mention about Neville and the guy from reddit. It sounds tempting to try.

I think it's interesting how the mind works you know, because like I was mentioning the thing about dreams, in that moment we are another version of ourselves. This reminds me of what Neville mentioned of how we have to persuade ourselves to the point where we become that person that we want to be, and doing so is not impossible because we do it all the time in dreams. The brain doing those things, is the same brain we have while we're awake. Except that when we're awake we have the conscious part of the mind questioning and rationalizing everything. And also the fact that we believe that a natural process has to take place for things to happen. In the scenario of me graduating I would most likely start questioning myself, but imagine if I woke up one day and it felt like "oh shit, I just had a dream in which I had not graduated yet" and felt completely convinced of my new reality omg 😅

I saw this video yesterday of a woman talking about shifting timelines and saying that our nervous systems would go crazy if things manifested out of thin air, but... would it? Really? I'm starting to believe that it is something that we've made up to trust the process and not stress about things taking time. But whatever, I was just contemplating how cool our minds are while dreaming and how cool would it be to have such mind control while awake.

i think that when it comes to persuading ourselves we are the person we want to be, we just get into our own way bc we are so engrossed in fear and the comfort zone. we often want someone to validate us before we can be who we want to be. like. just imagine what you wear everyday. now imagine tomorrow, you decideed to wear the most outrageous, unique clothing and go out that way. you wouldnt even make out the door without your family making comments. let alone going out into the world and getting stared at ! this is why so many people cant persuade themselves. bc thats how it feels to be someone new. i hope that analogy makes sense lol so it makes sense how difficult it feels, but its really only ever us holding ourselves back.

tbh idk what to think !! i used to think we made it up, but now i dont think so. i think its part of us having chosen to come live lives in this place of duality and human experience. even in my revision successes, they happened so naturally. ive definitely been questioning the idea of bypassing the human experience. like i know theres been many accounts of shifting things, but i dont know anyone who has done so in a major mystic way. or if they did so, they came back to this dimension at the end of it and resumed life as normal (like going to the worlds). so all i can say is ! try it ! see how far you can push the limits in your own experience ! i'd love to hear about what your journey is like, so keep me updated. it's definitely an interesting topic ! :)
