Awee Dustin being there for Nancy is so adorable like she was for him would be a great character moment for him like he was so focused on grieving over Eddie maybe even blaming himself (like Nancy probably is) he should cherish the people around him more. The irony of him pulling what Nancy did at the start s1 by focusing on steve and even robin to an extent after s3. Such fascinating potential parallels!

exactlyyy also like Dustin's not that much younger than Nancy was when she lost Barb :( I miss when they remembered they used to be friends like-

I wrote in hounds of love a very minor subplot about Nancy being ever so slightly bitter that Dustin replaced her for her ex boyfriend and honestly it was purely because I am slightly bitter about it lmao. They seem to be giving Max to Nancy though so I'm not too mad.

I feel like a great bonding moment between Will and Max (because we have been ROBBED of their friendship) could be after Max wakes up from her coma.

Max is feeling shitty after all she's been through, since she's just woken up she needs people looking after her and due to her injuries she can't do things like skateboard anymore.

Lucas feels incredibly guilty about what happened to Max and so he's very over protective to the point where he's a bit smothering.

El is just happy Max is ok and although she understands why Max is upset (since El did earlier lose her powers), El felt really weak during those months, especially after what happened with Angela. She couldn't protect herself and when she did, she did it all wrong and so she is also over protective of Max.

So Max ends up feeling kind of like s2 Will.

Who felt like people were treating him like a baby and like he was about to break after what happened to him in s1.

Although both Max and Will have obviously had different experiences, but they have both been traumatised and marked by the Upside Down in a way that no one else can understand, which is something that they could bond over and use to understand eachother.

i don't like season three when viewing it as a continuation of seasons one and two, but i do very much like season three when viewing it as the prequel to seasons four and five... hmmmmm.

Thinking again about how Nancy and Jonathan fight in season 3 with valid reasons but don't break up and home even Lucas and Max are established to repeatedly break up for very flimsy reasons but STILL are confirmed not to have by Mike saying "your girlfriend was spying on us" in 3x06.

People with better reasons to break up stayed together. People who "always" break up didn't. And yet Mike and El, whose miscommunication was cleared up within a day of El speaking to him again, remained broken up because she'd learned she preferred it that way regardless.

el did not know she could dump mike if she did not like him romantically.

thinking about loz byler au again (breath of the wild specifically rn) and my brain keeps going "oooh the party as the champions" bc it sounds like it works out PERFECTLY there are 6 people in the party there's 6 champions if we count link and zelda, who are obviously mike and will, and then I remember that this would mean 4 of them have to be dead for like. the entirety of the main plot
