as requested by @seadem-on, my Blonco playlist commentary 😊
Full disclosure: I am but a simple creature, give me woman/women KILLING IT with voice and guitar and I am ON THE FLOOR and that plays a part in my playlist creation no matter what I do also this is LONG
1. Rebel On The Run by Dakota Ray Parker- I was mostly thinking of Tuco with this one, but Blondie's also a bit of a rebel in his own way. He's clearly in the bounty hunting business for that sweet sweet $$$ and not for any upstanding moral reasons
2. I'm Good For Nothing by Jimmy Dawkins- Once again more about Tuco than Blondie, but everything I've ever seen about bounty hunters has just a pinch of self depreciation so I think Blondie probably has some too, he's just buried it DEEP down
3. Strangers by Town Mountain- The beginning of their partnership, the first bits of devotion that neither of them will admit.
4. Going Down by Freddie King- Blondie getting deeper and deeper in his partnership with this criminal he has a crush on and keeping up the facade of being an upstanding citizen who happens to be a bounty hunter.
5. Ain't That Peculiar by Fanny (cover)- strengthening of their partnership and whatever elaborate kink thing they have going on with the whole hangman con
6. Bad Spell by Larkin Poe- I'll be honest this one just fits the vibes of their relationship/situationship to me and I can't exactly explain why
7. Be Forewarned by Macabre- The title says it all, the two of them warning each other in their own ways do not fuck with me. The effectiveness of their warnings is pretty moot but, there it is lol
8. Walk In The Sun by The Angry- ah, the song I came across listening to random alt(ish) oldies that made me want to make this playlist. Tuco's walk and Blondie's walk, while very different in vibes, do both have spite (on Tuco's part) baked into each one. And lots of sun, too.
9. Gold Gun Girls by Metric- yet another one where it's more about the vibes, but the lyrics speak of chasing something empty in gold and guns and girls and I think that's both of these two in their own ways
10. Searchin' For a Rainbow by The Marshall Tucker Band- I mean. They ARE looking for a pile of cash that sounds too good to be true!
11. Hope in Hell by Black Pistol Fire- the spiteful vibes fit both of them really well, but especially Tuco!
12. Somebody to Love by Jefferson Airplane- Okay back on track with movie plot, the two of them in the Mission and the whump happening there <3 Tuco was fucking with him but I do think a part of him did genuinely feel a little guilty. If nothing else than because being around his brother makes him default just a little less selfish.
13. Miss You by The Rolling Stones- Seperated in the Union POW camp and by Angel Eyes :( They miss each other! I swear it's not just because of the song name, something about the guitar style and harmonica that speaks to me as Blondie.
14. Stuck In The Middle With You by Stealers Wheel- The bridge. Need I say more? 👀
15. Funnel Of Love by Wanda Jackson- Ok so after the movie they say fuck it and accept they don't want to separate in my fan fic. And the way she describes it makes it sound out of control like I'm sure they both feel about it
16. I Don't Need Nobody by Human Expression- Come on we all know these two are toxicly devoted to each other <3
17. I Need You So Bad by Magic Sam- Same as 16
18. Runaway by Bonnie Raitt- So I've been considering retconning/explaining in a different way in my own fic that maybe Blondie DOES run away again after the gold and Tuco has to track him down. But also that bit where Tuco's tracking him with his cigars 🖤
19. You're No Good by Linda Ronstadt- They both know the other is no good for them in their own way, but they can't help themselves. For whatever reason they're drawn together time and time again
20. Starting Over by Christ Stapleton- So this is intended for right before my series begins, when they finally accept they want to stay together and kind of like each other, maybe they've kissed and had sex by now maybe not. Either way something fundamentally changes after reuniting with the money.
21. When It Comes To Love by Crystal Shawanda- They've had their ups and downs but in the end they're there for each other. Also I love Chrystal Shawanda's music so much I saw her live like 7 years ago and- (I'm biased but this IS on here because I genuinely think it fits them, the lyrics about being left wanting, desire, etc.)
22. Place In The Country by Fanny (cover)- The name of the song the lyrics about wanting to escape a war the longing for a place in the country? *chef's kiss* fits Blonco in my fic perfectly! Also the raw quality of Fanny in live performances fits Blonco So Well to me.
23. Before The Devil Knows We're Dead by Turnpike Troubadors- The wild devil may care way these two idiots blew up a bridge for money? This song gets that.
24. I Only Want To Be With You by Dusty Springfield 25. Baby What You Want Me To Do by Chuck Berry and 26. Nothing Compares To You by The Helltones- Some nice songs that fit the mood of this playlist to me no deep meaning, sorry.
27. Life Is a Carnival by The Band- Them adopting Large One, surviving the gunfight with Ang and Flora, finding the kids, etc. They've had a wild ride, and they're not done with hijinks yet! (I don't know if they'll ever be done with hijinks)
28. Hide Away by Stevie Ray Vaughan- Another one that just fit right in, this song is on the playlist almost entirely because it's what I was listening to while researching for their house and it stuck in my mind, especially with the thematic title.
29. Hell of a View by Eric Church- The two of them being sentimental about each other <3
30. Before I met You By Sierra Ferrell (cover)- Yet another love song I just think is nice and kinda fits the vibe of the playlist :) also the themes of wanting to ramble and be free? Both of them to a T!
31. Years by Sierra Ferrell (cover & I added it JUST as I'm typing this)- This one fits Blonco the way I wrote them SO WELL 😭 I can see old Blonco drinking their morning coffee enjoying grandbabies (maybe even great grandbabies?) and feeling some of the lyrics, especially the one about raising a family🖤. Once again Sierra Ferrell's version a) because of the raw quality and b) oh my god her voice 😳 The John Anderson version is also Very Good though, especially live.
32. Sober II by Lorde- Perhaps the most out of place song on this list, and the oddest to explain because... okay backstory lore; it's May(ish) 2023, I've just had my brain rewired forever by TGBU in SEVERAL different ways, it's on my mind and I'm half asleep in the back of my parents' car on the way home from a long trip, it's warm and sunny and my music is on shuffle and I'm overtired. So I'm thinking about how crazy the entire thing with Blondie and Tuco is and this song came on and whoa, it's them, "How we kissed and killed each other"? "All the gunfights and the limelights and the holy sick divine nights"? IT THEM!! It's forever associated with them for me now. I wanted to return closer to the original dynamic to finish out my playlist and I think the "we loved each other but holy shit we had our problems" in this song is so good for that!

ꜱᴘᴏᴏᴋꜰᴇꜱᴛ- Obey me x Reader
Inspired by the one piece zombie arc.. Includes all the dateables plus a Female MC! :3 This literally sucks i prob won;t contineu it cuz it's so hard to make multiple ppl x reader i'll do them one by one
"Why must we all go to this "spookfest" Lucifer? I've got better things to do than to hang around some haunted area searchin' for ghosts and whatnot," Mammon whines, latching onto Lucifers leg.
It was that time of the year. You guessed it! Halloween. Where all the freaky ghosts and crazy haunted stuff appear. It wasn't really much different from an average sightseeing in the Devildom, except for a certain factor. Diavolo suggested that everyone should go to the famous rumored haunted town which was a good 12 hours away from the HoL. During this period of time, academies in the Devildom were collectively shutdown for 2 weeks to fully enjoy the festivities and fun the holiday has to offer. As per usual, Lucifer was ready to decline, until a brilliant idea popped up into his head:
He would use this trip as a way to scare the Anti-Lucifer-League and keep them out of business for a while. Even if it won't scare them, it'll keep them busy having something else to talk about. He would finally get some rest. So he agreed, and now everyone is in. As for Solomon, Luke, and Simeon, they agreed to come because they didn't have much to do. That amounts to a total of 13 people going to the haunted town. This included you, ofcourse.
*+:。.。 。.。:+**+:。.。 。.。:+**+:。.。 。.。:+**+:。.。 。.。:+**+:。.。
After a guelsome 12 hour ride, with Mammon whining on and on about how much he detested the idea of going to the town, Beel eating everything in sight, and Belphie, Lucifer, and Satan arguing about seating, You guys finally made it there. After meeting up with Diavolo, Barbatos, Luke, Simeon, and Solomon, you braced yourself for the worst part of the trip: Deciding the groups.
"I'm saying, I should be the one to go with MC because i'm their first, yanno?" Mammon argues, crossing his arms.
"Mammon you dunce. That's not how it works. Don't use your being her first to try and do everything with her," Satan intervenes.
"Satan is right! I say I should go! It's not everyday an otaku like me goes out to places like this, and MC would definitely keep me good company!" Levi says.
The rest of the brothers pipe in their complaints before Barbatos proposes an idea.
"I suggest that we don't split up at all for now. We can talk about groups when we're down on numbers or when we explore further into the town. Let's all stay close, hm?"
You gave Barbatos the "Thank you Barbatos you angel in hell my savior" eyes, before agreeing.
Diavolo lets out a hearty laugh. "Shall we get going now then? This whole town seems deserted, so we have a lot of places to look through!"
9 p.m
Finally, after a bit of exploring the town, you come across a wall. It really looked wrong when put with the things in the town. It was pearly white, while everything else was dark and really gloomy. For some reason, you felt nervous about the wall. Was it just the normal nervous? Of course you would be nervous. You're a human exploring a haunted town in the Devildom, which is haunted in it's own right. If this town has a reputation of being haunted, then it must truly be worse than all the things you've seen in the Devildom. Shivering a bit, you backed away from the wall a bit.
Noticing your action, Belphie asks you a simple question:
"Do you feel it too?" "That unusual air, I mean."
"Y-Yeah.. It's almost like behind that wall we'll see things we're not supposed to. For starters, it's weird how a wall is in the middle of the town, blocking us from going any further."
Before you could chat more, your head whipped around, facing the wall that now had a crack on it for only Diavolo knows why.
"Was that any of you guys?" You asked, before another shiver went down your spine.
A dozen of collective No's met your ears. This worried you.
"A-Are we gonna die? I don't wanna die in the yucky Devildom! Noo!" Luke started screaming.
"Luke, calm down. I'm sure there's a good meaning for all this. You'll be safe." Simeon reassures him, before walking closer to the wall and inspecting the newly formed cracks. Solomon, Lucifer, Diavolo, Satan, and Barbatos do the same. Belphie goes away from you to talk to all his brothers about something. You don't get the chance to ask.
Becausen that's when you felt it.
A hand.
Pulling at your leg.
You felt another hand pulling at your leg. Now both of your legs were being grabbed.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH!!" Was all you could manage before you disappeared from the wall, from everybody.
♥*♡∞:。.。 。.。:∞♡*♥♥*♡∞:。.。 。.。:∞♡*♥♥*♡∞:。.。 。.。:∞
"AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
Everyone froze.
"Was that MC?" Asmo asked, fear evident in his voice.
Looking at where MC was supposed to be, all that was left was MC's DDD and her...keys?
"Aw..Shit man." Mammon mutters before dashing over to MC's last location.
Everyone was thrown into a state of panic. Tears uncontrollably started pouring from Luke's face.
"MC's DEAD! YOU LET HER DIE! WE'RE ALL DEAD!!!"
Everyone started looking around for MC in hopes of finding her. Where could she be anyways?
"Everyone. Let's calm down. We can assume that wherever MC is or was taken to has something to do with a place past these walls. There's no need to panic." Diavolo said, sweat rolling down his forehead.
Deep down he was as scared for MC as the brothers and the rest were. But he had to put on a strong front, because it was his duty to never cower in the face of trouble. He was the Prince of Devildom after all. Belphie was silently cursing himself for not staying with her. If he had stayed, this wouldn't have happened, would it? Satan and Barbatos were investigating the area around MC. The dirt was messed with, like something had popped out from it. Like in the horror movies, hands pop out and grab a person...but that was just fantasy. He sighed. "MC... be safe." Barbatos, while not reacting any particular way on the outside was also a bit nervous regarding MC. He liked her just as much as everyone did.
Beel was nervously glancing around. Mammon was pacing around, trying to find some sort of opening that MC may have clumsily slipped through. None. Luke sat on the ground, reminiscing on all the good times he had with MC. "Where are you..MC..?" Asmo was trying to compose himself, seeing as it would probably give him a pimple if he worried too much. He was silently hoping that MC was safe. Solomon was thinking of a possible solution as for why you disappeared. He wasn't getting anywhere. Fear and doubt were threatning to consume him, but he fought it back. Lucifer refused to swallow his pride and act worried for your well being. He was desperately searching for traces of you though. Simeon was beyond nervous. Anything could have happened to MC, and because she was a human, it would be hard for her to defend herself. He wanted to use this trip as a chance to get closer to her, too. That plan goes down the drain..
After a little more pondering, Diavolo came with the conclusion to break the wall altogether. It already had a crack in it, what's the harm? So they broke a good chunk of the wall.
After reaching past the wall, they spotted....A mansion? Yes. A huge mansion.
Suddenly, they heard a scream coming from the top right building of the mansion. Was that a zipline? Was that a...coffin..using the zipline as a form of transportation? Their questions were answered as soon as they heard another scream from the coffin.. A very familiar one.
"Ahhh! Get me out of here! I hate cramped places! You fucking-"
"AHH! That hurt, DAMN YOU!"
"NOO, I'M TOO YOUNG TO DIE!! HELP MEEE-AHHH!!"
That voice.
"MC!" Everyone shouted in unison.
♥*♡∞:。.。 。.。:∞♡*♥♥*♡∞:。.。 。.。:∞♡*♥♥*♡∞:。.。 。.。:∞
You heard voices calling to you. From what you could make out, it was.. everyone, you think. The coffin you were in was dark, cramped, and constantly moving. You could tell you were in the air.
"Guys! Help me!" You shouted as loud as you could, hoping they would hear you. Before you could await a response, you dropped.
You were falling inside the coffin. Where to, exactly?
Thud.
The impact of the fall shook you. How far down did you fall? The coffin cracked. You were able to pry your way out of the coffin, only to be met by a pair of maniac looking eyes.
...
"HELLO DEARIE~ YOU MUST BE MY NEW TEST RIGHT? OH I CAN'T WAIT! IT'S BEEN THOUSANDS OF YEARS BEFORE I GOT TO ZOMBIFY A HUMAN! COME ON NOW, DON'T BE SHY~" The Maniac looking...wait...zombify? ZOMBIFY? He meant to zombify you? That was it. You were gonna die, right here right now!
"N-N-N.."
"N-N-N?" Go on my dear!
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" You shouted, out of pure terror.
♥*♡∞:。.。 。.。:∞♡*♥♥*♡∞:。.。 。.。:∞♡*♥♥*♡∞:。.。 。.。:∞
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" MC screamed, which sounded like she had gotten the fright of her life.
"We were too slow to catch her! What do we do now, Lord Diavolo?" Luke asked in a panic.
"She sounds like she's in trouble. We have to get there quick- What the fuck." Mammon says, meeting the sight infront of him.
Were those.. Zombies?

Soft-Shoe Shuffle - Ch 12
Tumblr media
Chapter: 12/12 Additional Notes: See Ch 1 for more information. Read on AO3 under "WizardGlick." Any formatting/italics errors are holdovers from AO3 that I was too lazy to fix. Chapter Content Warnings: N/A; ask to tag Excerpt: Janus swallowed. "I think it's sweet," he forced himself to say. He was allowed no layers but his clothing tonight. No sarcasm. No doublespeak.
The world is full of strange behavior Every man has to be his own savior I know I can make it on my own if I try But I'm searchin' for a great heart to stand me by
Patton insisted on making decaf for a whole week after Janus was able to return to his normal activities, not wanting to interfere with his ability to sleep.
Janus pretended to mind the fussing, pretended his heart didn't skip several beats whenever Patton smiled at him.
They played cards with the others and watched movies, even spent time with Remus. Roman was cordial, but he spent a lot of his time off with Virgil.
Patton and Janus stayed up late one night, later than the others despite Logan's pointed reminder that Janus still needed plenty of rest.
"Good thing I made decaf, huh?" Patton said, taking a pitcher out of the fridge. He poured black coffee over ice and added milk, then a liberal amount of whipped cream before passing the now-familiar ouroboros mug over to Janus.
Virgil had faithfully relayed Janus' coffee preferences, and Patton hadn't missed a single detail. Not that 'iced coffee with whole milk and whipped cream' was all that complicated, but Janus wouldn't have put it beyond Virgil to get it wrong just to mess with him.
Janus hummed an affirmative, only-half listening. Nerves left his mouth dry and his heart thumping in his chest, and for a few terrible moments he was worried he might faint again and ruin everything.
"This is really nice, Janus," Patton said. "I like spending time with you."
Janus couldn't help the pang of loss that went through his chest now that Patton was exclusively referring to him by name again. "It is."
"Oh, I meant to ask you." Patton paused, perhaps noticing the look on Janus' face. "Do you really like it when I call you 'honey'? You were pretty out of it when you told me, so I wasn't sure if you meant it."
Janus suppressed the instinct to hide his blush under a mask of his own face. If he was going to do this, he had to do it right. No lying. No hiding. "I, ah…" He looked at Patton, but Patton wasn't looking back. He had his face turned to the countertop, staring at the milk jug. "Patton."
"It's okay if the answer is no!" Patton's cheery tone did not match his posture, the hang of his head.
"Is it okay if the answer is yes?" Janus ventured.
Patton spun around so suddenly he nearly lost his balance. "Really? You don't think it's patronizing?"
Janus swallowed. "I think it's sweet," he forced himself to say. He was allowed no layers but his clothing tonight. No sarcasm. No doublespeak.
"Um, Janus?"
"Patton."
When had they gotten so close together? Janus remembered, suddenly, the feeling of Patton's hand on his cheek and their fingers tangled together. Janus glanced down at Patton's hand. Should he…? Was he allowed?
Patton said breathlessly, "There's something I want to do, but you're not really supposed to do it without talking about it first."
They were nearly nose-to-nose now. Janus took Patton's hands in his own. "People have told me I talk too much."
Patton kissed him, and there was nothing chaste or saccharine about it. With both their hands pinned between them and Janus staggering backward under Patton's weight, they would have lost their balance had Janus' back not hit the counter. Patton kissed hard.
He pulled back a few seconds later, his glasses foggy where they'd touched Janus' skin. "Should I have asked first?"
Janus kissed him, and sparks of happiness ignited in his chest.
Everything that had happened and everything he had done, it had all been worth it. It had all led to this.

Captain Magnum x gender neutral!reader
@rattyships ty for the request!
A/N: YES the title is a quote, YES it's from That One Song™, YES I based this fic off of that idea, leave me alone. Uh... Christmas. Yeah. Captain Magnum seems way too calm in this fic for my own liking, but y'know. Reader can paint even though I am physically unable to, so. There's that. Fluffy. Rated PG because there's one two "hell"s and one "damn" and that's it. It's cheesy and that's why it's great.
Word Count: 2.0k
--
You paced around your cabin, very anxious. Christmas was in three days! What were you supposed to get everyone? You didn't know what anyone liked! Or that they even celebrated…
Well, who says no to a gift, right?
You went over to your secret chest (nobody on that damn ship knew how to share) and opened it up to see how much treasure you had. Not much, but it was there. You could buy a lot in normal markets with these. Maybe you could convince the Captain to take you back home for the holidays?
Well, you never know until you try, right?
But what would you buy? They have quite enough gold and jewels, none of them seem to have any interest in anything, you doubted they'd like something homemade…
This was gonna be difficult.
You sighed and closed your chest, walking over to your door. You opened it to find said Captain standing there, the rest of the crew behind him.
"Hi, Captain," you blinked in surprise. You probably should have been more confused than you were, but this boat was already super weird. He was smiling at you.
"Mornin', first mate!" He greeted. "We found a treasure map on a ship we were lootin'. We're about t' start searchin' fer treasure!"
"Oh. Alright. Gimme a minute," you smiled and closed the door. You sighed and rested your back on the door. Maybe you could find something on the island to give them…?
"Yeah, they'll love a nice flower crown…" You snorted at your own idea. You sighed and grabbed up your stuff, opening your door and walking over to the crew. They were all talking about how they couldn't wait to find more treasure. You rolled your eyes. Don't they have enough of it? You took a head count of how many of them there were. Five… five crewmates, five presents. Captain Magnum noticed you and smiled.
"Thar ye be! I thought ye would lock yourself in yer cabin th' whole day!" He, along with the rest of the crew, laughed. You smiled saltily. "Wha' were ye doin' in thar?" You looked around, trying to come up with something.
"Um… I was… I was…" you looked out onto the horizon for a moment, your eyes softening. The crew looked at you.
"Y/N?" One of them called to you. "Are ye-"
"Painting," you interrupted.
"What?" Magnum asked.
"I was… painting…" you looked back to them. They all stared at you for a minute.
"You… you paint?" One woman asked. You smiled and nodded at her. All of the crewmates looked at each other for a minute.
"Uh… wha' d' ye paint?" The other woman asked. You shrugged.
"Whatever, really. Animals, landscapes, whatever's in my room…" you looked over at Captain Magnum to make sure this was okay. He sighed and plopped himself down on a stair. You smiled and turned back to the group.
--
You explained painting to the crew for 15 minutes. You had no idea they'd be so interested in your hobby. They asked so many questions, some of which you'd somehow never heard. How long had these people been at sea?
Eventually, you looked over to see Captain Magnum looking impatiently at the island the ship landed at 10 minutes ago. You chuckled at him and stood up.
"Captain's getting a bit annoyed, guys. Let's go," the crew complained, but got off of the ship as you walked over to the Captain. He raised an eyebrow at you and you mimicked the action.
"They find ye mighty interestin'," he commented. You smiled.
"Yeah. Not more than you though. I doubt anything could be more interesting than those logs you have for legs." You both looked at each other for a moment before laughing. He stood and you both followed the crew off of the ship.
He lead the way to where the treasure was, the rest of you trailing close behind. One of the crewmates, a boy who looked no older than twenty-one, took your arm. You raised both eyebrows and looked at him.
"So… wha' were ye sayin' about watercolors?" He asked softly. You smiled as the other crew members gathered around you again. You looked up at Captain Magnum, who was smiling at you all. He chuckled and turned back around, continuing to lead the way. You sighed.
"Alright… so watercolor is probably one of the most well-known types of paint…"
--
You had found treasure on the island, and most of the crewmates became interested in that, but the boy who has asked you about watercolors stayed as you explained how people originally made paints from flowers. You saw the curious look in his eyes, and decided what you were gonna get everyone for Christmas.
You were gonna paint for them.
What, you weren't sure. But you sure as hell were gonna paint. Maybe… their favorite animals? Or maybe an object they really liked…
You decided to ask them what they liked.
The woman with the bandana really liked sea creatures. Specifically, narwhals. They were very pretty and could also impale people. She liked that about them. You didn't think she noticed you scribbling everything she said into a small notebook.
The woman with the eyepatch really liked swords. She knew a lot about them; names, origins, uses… it was slightly unnerving, but you couldn't judge.
The boy liked plants. He liked the fact that they were living beings, just like people and animals. Only, they were smaller and couldn't talk. They could, however, feel. And he liked that. You couldn't get over how soft he was…
The man who was first mate before you liked… hats. He liked that they all basically had the same function, but looked so different. You could respect that. Hats were very cool.
The next day, you decided to paint them pictures of their favorite things in their respective color schemes, and added a different color for each background. A blue and white narwhal with a green background, a red and black sword with a navy blue background, a black and orange flower with a dark green background, and a brown and maroon hat with a pastel red background (no, not pink. There's a difference). You spent an entire day painting the pictures. They turned out very well, in your opinion. You just hoped the crew felt the same.
After you were finished with those, you asked Captain Magnum what his favorite thing was. He thought for a moment, stroking his beard.
"Well… I suppose it'd be treasure!" He answered. You knitted your eyebrows together.
"Really? Treasure?" You asked, hoping for something more.
"O' course, treasure! I be a pirate aft all! Wha' would I like if it nah be treasure?" You sighed in slight disappointment. You thought that you would find something new about him but, nope. He loves treasure the most. You nodded and turned around.
"Well, that or ye." You stopped dead in your tracks. Did you hear that right? You slowly turned back towards him. He looked away from you, towards the horizon. The setting sun illuminated his face, tinting it orange, pink, and yellow. He looked like he was ripped right from a movie...
"What was that?" You asked, slightly distracted by how beautiful he looked.
"Treasure be a pirate's fav'rit thin' o' course. But, since ye showed up... I reckon me fav'rit "thin'" be me first mate. Ye." He said nonchalantly. A small smile creeped onto your face. Magnum looked at you, since you hadn't said anything in a while.
"So, you're saying… you love me?" You asked, fishing for compliments. Magnum flushed a bit. It was mostly hidden due to the sun, but you could still see.
"Well… er…" He scratched the back on his head, thinking of how to respond.
"Cause that's what I'm hearing here…"
"Um…"
"Exactly how much do you love me, Captain?" You smirked, leaning on the side of the ship, your cheek in your palm. Magnum finally took a deep breath and looked in your eyes.
"More than all th' treasure in all th' seven seas…" he stated. Your eyes widened as your smirk fell. You felt your face heat up and you turned away from him.
"Well, uh…" you coughed, "I should… get to bed… wanna be up early tomorrow, so…" you shuffled away.
"First Mate Y/N!" He called. You turned back towards him.
"Merry Christmas." He said. You smiled.
"Merry Christmas, Captain."
--
You walked into the deck, the crew already gathered. You figured Magnum must've gotten them. You took a deep breath and walked over, the paintings in your arms. The crew all waved and greeted you. You smiled and stood in front of them.
"So, uh… it's Christmas as you may or may not know…" you explained nervously. "So, um… I decided that, as gifts, I was going to paint for you all… and these were the results." You move forward and pass out all the works you painted. All of the crew seemed happy with their pictures. They showed them to each other and gawked over the detail and bragged about how good they looked. You finally walked up to Magnum, who was steering. You held out a painting to him.
"Wha', fer me?" He raised his eyebrows and took the picture. It was of a red, blue, yellow, and black ship with a sunset in the background and sparkling green and blue waves. The words "a pirate's life for me" were written on the back. He laughed heartily and pulled you into a hug.
"Oh, ye really outdid yourself, mate! 'tis wonderful!" He complimented. You managed to pull yourself out of the hug after a minute or two and handed him an envelope. He looked over at the rest of the crew and, upon seeing that no one else had one, tilted his head a bit.
"It's from her," You explained, pointing. Magnum nodded and looked over at the woman who was showing off her narwhal. She glanced at the Captain and winked as the boy with the flower painting giggled. Magnum plopped down onto a step, but you stayed standing. He opened the envelope to reveal a card. On the inside, it said "This thing you two have is special, more special than anything I could try to get. I can, however, make you realize exactly what you have". You frowned.
"What's that supposed to mean?" You asked. Magnum shrugged and gave you the envelope. You looked inside, seeing something green. You took it out and your eyes widened.
Mistletoe.
Mistletoe?
Where the hell did they find mistletoe?!
You looked at Captain Magnum, who was staring at you. He raised both eyebrows at the plant in your hand. You were holding it between you two accidentally (on purpose).
"We don't 'ave t' if ye don't wants t'..." He told you. You took a deep breath, telling yourself to stop being so weird about it because you knew he loved you back. Besides, the crew had all left to put their gifts in their rooms. You leaned down, since he was sitting, and softly connected your lips. He sat there for a moment, eyes wide, before closing them. You both stayed like that for a few seconds before you pulled away all too soon. His eyes looked hazy as you smiled.
"Merry Christmas." You whispered and walked to your room, leaving Magnum to process what happened.
You entered your room and leaned your back on the door, smiling widely.
"Well, that was the best Christmas present ever…" you mumbled to yourself. You started to giggle as you continued to think about it. You put your hands on your face in embarrassment. It was only a couple seconds, why were you being so weird? You jumped a bit when you heard a gentle knock at your door. You turned around and tilted your head. Who could that be? It was getting late and the crew had already shown their appreciation…
Unless…
You opened the door to reveal, you guessed it, Captain Magnum. He was holding the mistletoe you had left on the deck. You looked at him and raised an eyebrow. He smiled.
"Do ye... Uh... Wanna do that again?" He asked sheepishly. You laughed a bit before smiling up at him.
"Absolutely."

Murder Most Foul
Written by Bob Dylan
Recorded "A while back" (according to the twitter announcement) Released 27 March 2020 and later on Rough And Rowdy Ways Tabbed by Eyolf Østrem
The harmonic rhythm (i.e. the regularity with which the chords change) is very loose, and the placement of the chord symbols in the tab below is approximate, tentative. On several points in the recordings it is evident that the accompaniment is more or less improvised.
Here's an attempt at an analysis of the song, musically and contentswise.

Surprise!
Bob Dylan followed up his recent going-against-the-grain summer tour announcement with a new single titled “Murder Most Foul” today. It’s chock full of imagery provoking lyrics and almost 17 minutes long....yep, his longest song ever released.
Always a genius lyricist, settle in (where do you have to go anyway in these crazy pandemic-centric times?) and check the lyrics out and listen at the link below:
Murder Most Foul
Bob Dylan - 2020
[Verse 1]
It was a dark day in Dallas, November '63
A day that will live on in infamy
President Kennedy was a-ridin' high
Good day to be livin' and a good day to die
Being led to the slaughter like a sacrificial lamb
He said, "Wait a minute, boys, you know who I am?"
"Of course we do, we know who you are!"
Then they blew off his head while he was still in the car
Shot down like a dog in broad daylight
Was a matter of timing and the timing was right
You got unpaid debts, we've come to collect
We're gonna kill you with hatred, without any respect
We'll mock you and shock you and we'll put it in your face
We've already got someone here to take your place
The day they blew out the brains of the king
Thousands were watching, no one saw a thing
It happened so quickly, so quick, by surprise
Right there in front of everyone's eyes
Greatest magic trick ever under the sun
Perfectly executed, skillfully done
Wolfman, oh wolfman, oh wolfman howl
Rub-a-dub-dub, it's a murder most foul
[Verse 2]
Hush, little children, you'll understand
The Beatles are comin', they're gonna hold your hand
Slide down the banister, go get your coat
Ferry 'cross the Mersey and go for the throat
There's three bums comin' all dressed in rags
Pick up the pieces and lower the flags
I'm goin' to Woodstock, it's the Aquarian Age
Then I'll go to Altamont and sit near the stage
Put your head out the window, let the good times roll
There's a party going on behind the Grassy Knoll
Stack up the bricks, pour the cement
Don't say Dallas don't love you, Mr. President
Put your foot in the tank and then step on the gas
Try to make it to the triple underpass
Blackface singer, whiteface clown
Better not show your faces after the sun goes down
Up in the red light district, they've got cop on the beat
Living in a nightmare on Elm Street
When you're down on Deep Ellum, put your money in your shoe
Don't ask what your country can do for you
Cash on the ballot, money to burn
Dealey Plaza, make a left-hand turn
I'm going down to the crossroads, gonna flag a ride
The place where faith, hope, and charity lie
Shoot him while he runs, boy, shoot him while you can
See if you can shoot the invisible man
Goodbye, Charlie! Goodbye, Uncle Sam!
Frankly, Miss Scarlett, I don't give a damn
What is the truth, and where did it go?
Ask Oswald and Ruby, they oughta know
"Shut your mouth," said a wise old owl
Business is business, and it's a murder most foul
[Verse 3]
Tommy, can you hear me? I'm the Acid Queen
I'm riding in a long, black Lincoln limousine
Ridin' in the backseat next to my wife
Headed straight on in to the afterlife
I'm leaning to the left, I got my head in her lap
Hold on, I've been led into some kind of a trap
Where we ask no quarter, and no quarter do we give
We're right down the street, from the street where you live
They mutilated his body and they took out his brain
What more could they do? They piled on the pain
But his soul was not there where it was supposed to be at
For the last fifty years they've been searchin' for that
Freedom, oh freedom, freedom over me
I hate to tell you, mister, but only dead men are free
Send me some lovin', then tell me no lie
Throw the gun in the gutter and walk on by
Wake up, little Susie, let's go for a drive
Cross the Trinity River, let's keep hope alive
Turn the radio on, don't touch the dials
Parkland hospital, only six more miles
You got me dizzy, Miss Lizzy, you filled me with lead
That magic bullet of yours has gone to my head
I'm just a patsy like Patsy Cline
Never shot anyone from in front or behind
I've blood in my eye, got blood in my ear
I'm never gonna make it to the new frontier
Zapruder's film I seen night before
Seen it thirty-three times, maybe more
It's vile and deceitful, it's cruel and it's mean
Ugliest thing that you ever have seen
They killed him once and they killed him twice
Killed him like a human sacrifice
The day that they killed him, someone said to me, "Son
The age of the Antichrist has just only begun"
Air Force One comin' in through the gate
Johnson sworn in at 2:38
Let me know when you decide to throw in the towel
It is what it is, and it's murder most foul
[Verse 4]
What's new, pussycat? What'd I say?
I said the soul of a nation been torn away
And it's beginning to go into a slow decay
And that it's thirty-six hours past Judgment Day
Wolfman Jack, he's speaking in tongues
He's going on and on at the top of his lungs
Play me a song, Mr. Wolfman Jack
Play it for me in my long Cadillac
Play me that "Only the Good Die Young"
Take me to the place Tom Dooley was hung
Play "St. James Infirmary" and the Court of King James
If you want to remember, you better write down the names
Play Etta James, too, play "I'd Rather Go Blind"
Play it for the man with the telepathic mind
Play John Lee Hooker, play "Scratch My Back"
Play it for that strip club owner named Jack
Guitar Slim going down slow
Play it for me and for Marilyn Monroe
[Verse 5]
Play "Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood"
