Of course they had to come into Klingon space, of course Khan had to try and go for some of the toughest damn aliens out there. Maybe Logan aught to smack his commander, throw some sense around that skull if they ever got back to the ship. At this rate, he'd reloaded thrice now: running low on ammo. He insisted on using guns because they were familiar, he knew how they worked. None of this stun business: when he shot, it was to kill.

In the ambush, he'd lost track of Khan in the chaos, trying to lay low only to turn on a dime and shoot one bloody, the thump to the ground and Logan continued on. Two more descended: lined up just so they were felled with one bullet. In the heat of the moment, he decided heading for high ground was best. He couldn't very well do his job in the trenches, and that's where he was, though by whatever grace he wasn't cornered yet. Steeling his nerves, ignoring the sounds around him ricocheting off these concrete walls, Logan made his way through relatively swiftly. Stopped only by a few Klingons too close for comfort. Dodging their massive sword-like weapons wasn't too difficult: while maneuvering with the wall as a springboard, one of them hit the other, and a swift kick to the face had them disoriented enough he could run out of there.

There he is.

Gun in hand, Logan slowed and fired: headshot downing one daring to sneak up behind Khan, and Logan's sprinting again. There's an odd desperation in his gut, festering like an infection, and he doesn't know why. Cut off by another alien, Logan goes to his knees, the momentum keeping him skidding on the ground while Khan fires for him. It goes a little too quiet after that, and Logan's hair on the back of his neck stands on end. The stairs to get to Khan seem twice their usual size, but once he's there, he doesn't rest, doesn't let his eyes settle.

"We have to get out of here." He takes one sparing glance at Khan, the rage evident in his own eyes as something akin to a glow. "Let's keep moving, I don't want to be stationary too long." What is this? Where is it? Logan is antsy, visibly stepping from one foot to the other, eyes darting to every dark crevice and crack, every hidey-hole a sniper might be. They wait too long for his liking, the rest of the crew finally coming to the dais and heading out before he and Khan do, and that's when it hits him.

Two things happen simultaneously: the laser appears on Khan's back, and he hears a muffled Klingon war cry. It's just enough warning.

It's as if the world is rendered in slow motion, black and white shapes and shadows warping his state of mind. His feet can't get him there fast enough but he shoves Khan with all his strength and a yell escapes him from the exertion of it all and the pain lighting up his abdomen. The projectile is so much more powerful than a normal bullet that Logan is flung backwards, lands on the ground until he rolls and collides hard with the wall behind him. Eyes squeeze closed, teeth bared at the pain radiating through him with an unnatural searing heat. Blonde head lolls back against the ground now, hands coming to shield the wound but feeling his own blood trickle over his fingers.

He can't speak, can't find the energy to say anything to Khan and the crew, to get out. Maybe somewhere far off they got him: he recalls seeing flashes of light amid the darkness of the place, maybe they got him. Logan still can't open his eyes, feeling beads of sweat on his brow. Maybe...they left him. As he knew they would cajole Khan into doing: they never liked him anyways.

I'm seeing stuff about ocs and such on the Dash and ima yeet my two cents in

Original characters yes they do have a hard time for the most part especially female ocs too because of shipping stigma that is still popping around even in 2024 , but that being said

Remember that canon characters are popular because they've gained a large following and sense of media. Canon characters are just someone else's ocs . They have been through the ringer etc much like our own creation

People for the most part find it easier to interact with canons because they have a familiarization. Even if your canon divergent/ head canon based etc.

But remember as well even CANON characters can have a hard time getting interactions too.

A good rule of thumb for ocs && canons alike from what I learnt.

Slam your head canons on the dash// make a master post // rb memes about head canons

Make sure your information page is up to date

Have your verses pages all set up too in case someone thinks verse 1 won't work out sometimes verse 2 does

Don't be afraid to yeet them into someone's inbox // starter call// plot call etc

Plotting & communication weather you be a oc or canon is REALLY helpful if you don't know where to start! Even if your not sure where to start for a plot popcorn ideas back and forth

Even if you don't get like thousands of asks // threads for your ocs just enjoy the one(s) you have with your current partners

Remember quality over quantity.

* Canon and Canon pre-established can be easier than Oc && canon pre-established because for canons we've seen it on screen

hello! it’s that time again i try to sell myself as a potential writing partner. i have written these in the past and been successful in occasionally finding roleplay partners who are interested in the same sorts of things as me. so i am looking for people who want to world build with me. i really like discussing plots, headcanons, and anything that can make me understand your muse better! i love sharing memes, drabbles, not roleplaying linearly and tossing around multiple threads! i don't need many people to write with but i really prefer to have a handful of people who i know well, am invested in their muses/feel super comfortable with my knowledge of their muses & pingpong my annoying ideas at them easily.

i tend to write lengthier things but i am okay with any length as long as it’s not one-liners! i also have zero interest in writing with someone who i will only have one thread with and never speak to again. 💀 i just rather focus on threads that will grow outside of just one single reaction! i like to think i am pretty easy to toss shit around with but i am a little shy so sometimes it takes a while for the ball to start rolling but once it is i am full-sending that shit.

I transitioned from group rp to indie a few years ago and--at the time--I was all alone. I had no connections, just a lonely barry blog to my name. I wrote drabbles by myself in the dark for two weeks until aya came across my blog with her hikari, and everything just clicked. aya made me feel included, reached out with ideas, plots and feedback, and showed love to barry and all of my muse(s)--and to this day, I still feel TREMENDOUSLY grateful for the helping hand when I felt so isolated. I definitely would not still be writing here without her.

since then, I've had an amazing time here. writing with so many different people, muses, and groups--it's all so good. my best experiences happen when I'm writing (or even plotting) with someone, and everything just works, flows, and fits together and I can just feel that shared excitement. that feeling that we're building a great story together. that's magical. that's why I'm still around, trying new muses, diving headlong into amazing plots/dynamics, letting my imagination run wild, and--as always--writing a lot. much love to EVERYONE who has helped keep that fire burning over the years, but especially ash and aya for giving that flame a chance in the first place. tysm. ❤️

RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS : it's been said, but--on a personal level--I wish private communication would happen more, specifically when it comes to interest levels. my time is becoming more and more limited here (sad as that is) and I have always written at a slower, longer pace. so, given how fast this place moves, I would appreciate knowing if a thread has grown stale, or if something's off.

I'm flexible. I'd like to think that I'm pretty laid-back. I want you to have fun, and you need to drop or backburner our thread because life, interest, etc. that's okay. I promise. I also don't mind reminders about cold threads or overdue replies on my end. if that's the case, please let me know right away, and I'll pick it back up or let you know my thoughts. we can try new things, or not. just let me know what you'd like to do, and we can adjust from there. that being said, lack of time or muse =/= lack of interest. Hey there! I'm glad my blog has been a valuable resource to you.

It's definitely difficult starting out in the community, as there are many different structures and moving parts to learn. Hopefully, my advice here will be of some use too!

Looking at your blog, you have a really nice theme! It's very clear to read and quite beautiful. However, you may be having some trouble finding people to interact with because they may still be viewing you as a personal blog.

RP blogs differ from personals in a couple of different ways that I'll outline here.

(A.) Content and reblogs.

RP blogs are made up of largely tagged posts that fall into a few different categories. OOC posts, headcanons, threads, aesthetics, dash games, and more. These are almost always tagged accordingly and don't usually fall outside the main purpose of the blog. I see that your blog is for the most part empty and already following this standard, though you may want to integrate the tag system for easier navigation! I'd try to add a little bit more flavor to your blog by adding drabbles here and there as writing samples, or reblogging aesthetic/visage posts!

(B.) Rules and muse page.

One of the largest things that sets a personal apart from an rp blog is the way in which you set up your rules and muses. There is additional information on this post on how you might go about making a rules and muses page, but another way for beginners is to make a pinned post and put all information under a read more. It looks like you've already got a bio going, so here's how I personally would organize that as an example:

Obviously this is your blog and you have every right to make it how you'd like, but these are just my suggestions!

Other than that, it's a matter of being patient and reaching out to others. Not everyone will be down to rp, and that's okay. It takes time and patience, and largely an understanding of that concept. What you give, you get back. It can be discouraging when you can't find many to rp with, but it's important to remember that negativity truly will breed negativity here. Waiting for others to approach you won't always work, so you may need to ask and try to engage with others! Don't be afraid to say what you want!

This thread from Game Of Diplomacy AU* remains to be one of my favourite things I've ever written. It has a high stakes power struggle with tension you can cut with a knife, it has angst and conflict with counterbalancing moments of levity, it is deliciously dark and the clever verbal sparring challenged me in a really refreshing way, keeping me on my toes. I think it contains some of my best writing to date.

*This AU gained a surprisingly big following - it even has its own fanart! Years later my writing partner and I still get occasional asks about it/people still go on like sprees through the threads, which is really sweet. I am forever mindblown and deeply touched that so many people have enjoyed this random niche rarepair story my partner and I wrote for fun.

I'm also very proud of this Arcane rp thread, which sparked off a whole AU that my writing partner and I are still actively developing and enjoying two years later.

A writing partner (or partners!) I've enjoyed writing with: shoutout to @f1shbonez for writing with me for ten years, across four different platforms and over 12 different fandoms. You are the best damn writing partner I've ever had, a true unicorn, a plotting genius, a master wordsmith with razor wit - I have grown so much a writer and as a person because of you. 2. drabbles

I like drabbles when they serve a function, mainly. Considering how much I tend to write in threads, some of those replies could be drabbles on their own! But I like drabbles that move the plot forward. Maybe it's covering a time when the muses are apart when I've plotted with the mun about their reunion later and we want to show what happened to them in the meantime (I can think of at least two ships where this has happened or will happen in the near future. RIP my other writing partners but that drabble series will take some time to do!). Or maybe it's a fully-realized scene from an ask that will play into a future thread.

But yeah, drabbles take time so I want to write them for a reason. But I love reading them! Fill my dash with your drabbles, especially if they accompany interactions my muse has with yours!

4. multiple people threads

If it's multiple muns in one thread, that's not my thing. It's too confusing to keep track of turns and replying to everyone.

Now, if it's multiple muses in a thread, such as my muse and multiple side characters/NPCs, I don't mind writing this. However, these replies tend to take much more time to write instead of an average thread reply. For me, these feel much more like writing fanfiction or original fiction work instead of roleplaying: multiple voices, actions, and personalities to play off each other while keeping in mind who the main character (presumably my muse) is, and sticking with their vantage point.

(I may be taking a break from one of these threads right now to do this meme! Shh...)

6. excessive ooc

No. I don't like seeing it, I don't want to see it, and I do take this into consideration when deciding to follow a blog.

Now, what counts as 'excessive?'

To me, it's the difference between sharing some Munday content (a meme, what you're up to, your reports from anime conventions where you may or may not have cosplayed because I love seeing other cosplayers who roleplay. I'm sitting on so much cosplay content I've never shared over here tbh!) and 'I just got back from work and this is what I'm having for dinner' every day.

I do like getting to know the muns behind RP blogs, especially if they're someone I write with often, but there's a limit. Personally, I'm not a fan of seeing OOC content every day that has nothing to do with your muse(s), fandom(s), or RP.

That said, the OOC content I'm least fond of isn't even necessarily excessive: it's when muns project all of their interests onto their muse and make them their muse's interests as well. It's the difference between the muse commenting on something the mun is engaging with OOC and the mun insisting that because they like this hobby, it's now the muse's hobby too. The latter just feels a bit too self-insert for me for comfort, but that's me.

For example: Sonia would never be a Bridgerton stan, despite it being a big love and fandom of mine. She would not be into all of these Rich People Problems when that's literally her life (also see: Downton Abbey, The Gilded Age, The Crown, etc.).

She would, however, be a fan of ACOTAR because of the heroines and morally gray love interests. Sonia would probably call Tamlin out on being a terrible partner in the first book, like Lucien save for the 'You're my mate' scene, and immediately decide Azriel is the Best Bat Boy for being the token Shadow Daddy.

(She is wrong about this because the least problematic of the Bat Boys is Cassian, and I still have some beef with him after recent book events)

tl:dr - Romantasy is goth and romance enough for Sonia to be a fan. She likes horror, anime, and romantic J-dramas, it's not too much of a stretch!

8. reblog karma

My take on this is a little complicated, please bear with me:

I feel like mutuals should engage in reblog karma with OOC/non-thread starter memes if they are questions they haven't asked a mun before and those questions aren't already being answered. They aren't creating anything new on your writing pile if it's already too high/intimidating and you're showing interest in your mutuals, that's a win-win! For long-time mutuals though, it can feel repetitive not to send in the same OOC questions about RP and/or their lives, so I understand if they don't want to send in something every time because they'll get the same response.

For IC memes, especially thread starters, I'm okay with people reblogging the post from source and not sending me anything. If a mun doesn't really know how any of the meme options would work with their muse or just doesn't have an interest in that particular meme with my muse, I would much rather have them reblog the meme without sending me anything than to send an ask for a thread they don't have any interest writing, just to fulfill reblog karma.

Coming in first place, surprising ABSOLUTELY NO ONE: Angst! Some of the most interesting dynamics involve discomfort, sadness, or even flat out hostility. But also, I like making my mutuals cry. Usually because that's what I'M doing, so they have to suffer by proxy.

In second place... I guess: 'dark' threads? I used to play a lot of villains back in the day, so I'm no stranger to both BEING horrible in-character and being treated horribly in-character. Plus, similar to angsty content, it's usually just more interesting since it involves conflict in some form.

Third isn't even really a genre, persay, but: Threads that originally came from a Meme answer I wrote. Sometimes spontaneous interaction can lead to some great ideas that we wouldn't have considered under normal circumstances.

🍍 - How many drafts are you stalling with this meme?

I usually keep drabbles, memes, and fanart I haven't reblogged yet in my drafts so it's hard to tell what's actually something I SHOULD be working on (which is why I usually use threadtracker).

Off the top of my head, I know I owe @houkusu a starter in Jin's Reform!verse and I haven't really been putting that off so much as I fucking hate how my starter reads right now. It just feels... I don't know, not what I was envisioning? The language and whatnot got a little garbled from picking at the draft during different times and I'm not sure if I like it anymore, so! Might just start fresh, if I really feel it's low quality.

What I've REALLY been putting off is reaching out to new mutuals, but that's honestly because I have been struggling emotionally for the past week and I get scared I might ruin someone else's day by oversharing or being in a far less enthused mood than I normally am.

I'm big into reciprocity where plotting is concerned, so I'd rather come at someone with ideas at the ready than just being like "HEY, WANNA PLOT? :)" and then being like "well, shit, idfk" and make my partner feel like a) I supposedly don't care about their portrayal and b) that they now have to do ALL the work.

Honestly I tend to just look at my rp partners' muses, and then come up with plot ideas specifically for interactions with them and my muses. I dunno if I have any general ideas just Floating Around?

Ghost is my default muse for crossovers, since a) I Love Them and b) they have a very flexible crossover verse that allows me to just throw them as they naturally are anywhere, but stuff that actually takes place in Hallownest is always nice to have! But most if not all of my plot ideas are tied to specific people's muses (like our plans for Ghost and Arti's HK AU! Definitely still wanna do that <3), and if they're not, then it's more along the lines of "man it'd be fun to have interactions with [character] but no blog that I know of writes them"

I guess I have considered writing a drabble for Ghost's post Dream No More verse for a while, basically going into their thought processes and stuff and how they're eventually able to reform themself as a Shade in the physical realm, which could also function as an open starter for any HK muse who could realistically be around the Black Egg Temple when that happens. No idea when or if I'll ever actually write that though dgshff

Papyrus is harder to come up with specific plots for in general, at least when it comes to interacting with fellow Undertale muses, just because there's so much freedom in what can be done that my mind just goes blank asgshdhsf. Generally speaking, though, it could be fun to do stuff with some of Undertale's neutral endings!

I believe I've brought this up at least once on the blog, though, and I know I've plotted something along these lines with at least one friend, but I do like the idea of Papyrus interacting with ex-villains or people who have Done Bad Things and regret it. Since! My Paps follows the Otherworld theory, and in his original Deltarune universe, he was the Roaring Knight! Or was at least affiliated with them in some way, but I think at this point, regardless of what Papyrus' role actually ends up being in Deltarune, I'm tempted to stick to mine being the Knight, even if that ends up making him canon divergent. I'll see once we actually get more information, I guess! But I digress. Point is, He's Been There! He's done the terrible things and has his regrets! But since then he's worked to redeem himself and become the Great Papyrus, and that's how he knows everyone else can do that, too.

I don't know how many times I'd actually want to write a thread based around that, since doing it over and over would probably get repetitive, but! In my heart, Papyrus is surrounded by a bunch of scary-looking ex-villain or otherwise morally grey friends who would kill for him if needed <3 gfhfhsdhf

It's funny though, because Papyrus' past is typically something that he never talks about. Like-- Sans is the only one who really knows anything, and that's just because they're brothers and he was there when it all happened. Even Flowey, despite his constant RESETs and completionism and trying to learn everything about all the "characters" in his "game", might not be aware of everything. Maybe just the "Papyrus did some things in the past that he deeply regrets" part, since I could see that being relevant to a conversation between the two of them. Because even though Paps is a bad liar, he's damn good at keeping secrets and simply Not Talking about things. And yet! I keep thinking about scenarios where he might actually be compelled to bring it up dgshshdf.

And then GLaDOS... I'd just like to try writing in general dhsgfshf. Definitely still want her and Mirage to bitch at each other lmao. I've still gotta write out my thoughts on how the two might meet using Mirage's psychopomp AU, which I will do! Eventually!!

For her Rain World AU, I think interactions with fellow iterators would especially be neat! But I've uh. Also gotta write out more info for that verse too first dhshdhf

i've written a handful of ficlets n drabbles, i like writing out little character study one-shots. i also dm'd a homebrew campaign for about a year, so i got to write a lot of worldbuilding stuff ; the campaign exploded due to personal reasons, & the group isn't playing together anymore, so i haven't had chances to do dnd-related writing in while.

do you expect your answered memes/asks to be turned into threads? regardless of answer, what’s your reasoning?

i don't expect it, but i do encourage it, as i very rarely manage to wrangle up plotted starters, & i've always found asks to be great jumping off points for interactions. not everything has to be planned, & sometimes the greatest threads can come from off-hand replies that simply grew & spiraled.

muse a: My first true threading experience was with the chat post format for threads. muse b: Threads that went on for at least 30 replies without trimming. muse a: That looked like the backlogs of IM threads. muse b: Complete with-- *actions*

it's in a similar vein to how often threads wouldn't get trimmed until the oldest reply was squished by the blockquote to individual words. good riddance to that, i can't believe there were people genuinely upset by the loss of blockquote walls, but the chat post thing is a fond memory, if only for that being how i did my first ever threads here.

big fuck-off jpegs instead of icons, even before gif hunts solidified themselves, think dollmaker game downloads, like how some people nowadays use picrews but with zero of the cropping. i was part of the crowd, & i was more than happy to switch to scouring gif hunts, then icon hunts, then learning to make icons myself.

magic anons were literally everywhere you blinked, & even if they weren't Magic Anons a bunch of people treated anons as simply blank-faced characters that could interact & talk to the muses like any dedicated-blog character might. they were fun, & i know anons still get treated with some degree of agency now, but no one's really threading with anons these days, y'know ; i like where we are with them right now.

everyone had the same handful of free template blog themes, the most widely used ones being fluid & redux. i've all but entirely switched to dash-only, but the template themes were nice, & seeing an ancient blog that still has one of them feels like stepping into a vintage bookshop.

QUESTIONS FOR MUNS.

1. how do you feel about reblog karma?

I mean... a bit conflicted if I'm honest but then I always have been. On the one hand I think it's good to practice. If you reblog a meme that's just questions, go ahead and send one over to the person, even on anon. However sometimes you don't have the relationship with people for certain memes or maybe you have too many threads going. It's why I love drabbling certain things. I do think though if you've followed someone or stumbled on their blog and you abuse the meme tag a bit or never send them a starter or try to interact with them (specifically if YOU follow THEM), but reblog all the memes. I can completely understand why that could be a bit annoying. So honestly... conflicted haha. Good in theory but vastly more complicated in practice.

3. whose writing has impacted your writing style the most? (you can choose anyone! famous writer or not.)

Uhm, I'm not sure tbh five years ago I'd have said an author I no longer will name. However I would say that mostly my writing has been hugely influenced by all the movies I watch, far more than the books I've read. I tend to go off feeling when I'm writing, rather than focusing on the actual words... I don't know if that makes sense haha.

4. which muse of yours is your all time favorite? if you stopped writing them: why?

Honestly I think Maria is my all time favourite, she's been with me the longest and she's so different to me and it's quite nice to write. I think she makes me a better person too. I'm sure she was the first muse I really wrote. I think after Maria it was probably Charlie, the OC Secretary I created for Kingsman who was known as the Dragon and her codename was Kilgharrah. I absolutely adored writing her, she was so fun and so complex. I dropped out of the kingsman fandom, I don't remember why, I don't think I could quite keep up with things but yeah, I think she's my second favourite.

5. is there a muse you really want to try? if yes: what’s stopping you?

I mean I'd LOVE to give Evelyn Carnahan a go. I love her so goddamn much. I think loving her so much is what stops me because I'm not sure I could really do her justice. I'd love to be able to play Moneypenny but I definitely couldn't do a good job of her.

Maria x Happiness. I mean isn't that the idea outcome for everyone's muse. Well maybe villain muses it's like taking over the world or something but I mean Maria x Happiness is always the end goal tbh. Just happiness all the time is no fun though so there of course is everything else you can write and it's so fun!

I think overall in all the fandoms I've ever been in, it was probably a toss up between Star Trek and Kingsman.

2. drabbles

It's no surprise to anyone anymore that I do drabbles for ask meme prompts and only reblog memes (and send them in) when the meme itself doesn't say 'starter' in some capacity. I feel this is my way of giving my partners little gifts in the form of snippets of 'what if' moments. I love doing them. They stretch me as a writer. I may not get my partner's muse perfectly, but I try and so far I've only had one person that absolutely hated it. We no longer speak. But the fact that they hated it had nothing to do with that.

8. reblog karma

I don't enforce reblog karma, but it does upset me when I see someone that reblogs from the source directly after I reblogged it (especially an old meme that I know I dug up and that's how they found it) and they never bothered to send me something in. Like because if you expect people to interact with you, then you should interact with other people. Especially headcanon memes. It's not hard to send something in. I miss the way the rpc used to be when it comes to ask memes and sending asks in general.

18. shipping

I absolutely love shipping. It’s so much fun, and it adds something to a thread, but it’s not necessary to plot and roleplay together. But I will admit that I do tend to lean more toward roleplaying ships than I don’t. But that’s just because there’s not a lot out there in the way of familial or other relationships. But, I must repeat; I love shipping!

He knows full well how everyone else once saw Tsuna, and he has a good idea of how everyone else once saw himself. But… who cares what anyone else sees in either of them? Not Byakuran. Maybe someday he will, but today is not that day.

"Take it from me. Life gets so much better when you only care about how you see yourself."

Another thing he doesn't care about is to have a reason to pick up both of Tsuna's wrists separately and lift them up until both palms face upward. 'Reach for the sky!' is a perfect statement if he's asked for one.

"I'm sure Reborn-chan makes that tricky, but if you tune his threats out and just do what he says, I promise it'll help." ♪

Maybe things will change over time? Maybe Tsuna will learn to see himself on his own terms? Maybe Byakuran will start to care about how he's perceived? Who knows?

He knows he doesn't want to think about the future anytime soon, so for now, he lives in the moment. This moment is about smiling brightly in the hopes his initial point can be understood.
