I'm sorry but I absolutely lose my mind over them ( I have literally no one who I could ramble about this to and I need to get it out). I want to analyse stuff, so let me just:

It's visible that they are good friends and have been since the time when Doc deviated, research partners doing... research? Or whatever researchers do *shrugs*.

But there's one thing to it, X created Doc and most of other androids. He understands what is deviation because Doc explained it to him but his friend is still an android after all. We also know that X always calls Doc "Docm" but in previous comic he calls him "Doc" and it is stated that it's the first time he ever called him that. In which moment he calls him that? In the moment when he realises that Doc is more human than android now, I may be delusional about this all but I just feel like: the moment when he sees Etho overpower Doc, shove him and break him and stuff, Xisuma sees that Doc isn't a fearless machine but a someone, a human, he got overpowered by Etho and suffered consequences, he felt fear like a human not a machine. Also he lost his arm because he was trying to stop Etho from hurting X as we see in the second part of the comic, which only adds to that. So, this is the moment where X fully realises that he means something to Doc, not as a creator, but as a friend, and that's why for the rest of the comic he constantly makes sure if his partner is alright by talking to him, glancing at him. You know stuff. He grew closer and closer to Doc as time passed and I think this was the climax - the moment he called Docm77 "Doc".

While Doc is doing the most stoic stuff ever and trying not to self destruct and stuff, he cares about X too, very much even, he's protective towards him and shows it by jumping into danger he could have avoided [ Etho attacked X because he's an admin and probably knows where's Grian - Etho wants to hunt down this pesky bird for killing Bdubs] just so his partner won't get hurt how sweet <3 RIP arm you will be remembered...

Anyways I feel like they should talk about stuff and maybe cuddle and maybe I don't know LIVE?? NOT DIE??

13. what’s a common writing tip that you almost always follow?

ooh I actually have to think about this one for a second, hang on

maybe using sensory details and actions to break up dialogue? Sometimes if I think there needs to be a moment between two lines of dialogue but I'm not actually giving the reader a chance to pause by using an emdash or an ellipses, I'll throw something in there to break it up. I have some examples from the damitim fic:

“You’re not talking?”  “No.” “Is that your call?”  Damian puts the teapot on the stove with slightly more force than required, flicking on the burner in the same fashion. “No,” he says flatly. 

okay yeah so in this bit I put that action with the teapot in there as a substitute for a line about Damian pausing, because "he paused" looked boring and felt wrong, so I gave him something to do in that time. This also uses the other bit of advice I posted about the other day about avoiding just saying how a character feels. The action I gave him tells you how he's feeling about it: he's frustrated. But also, he says no flatly, because he doesn't want his words to show that he cares.

Sometimes instead of an action I'll throw in a train of thought because like. If the character has time to notice a smell or to feel something, it creates the breathing room I need to emphasize the dialogue. like here:

“No, I fucking don’t! Damian,” Tim scoffs, as if he’s explaining this to a child, “I’ve been living with Ra’s Al Ghul for the last six years, do you honestly think that Bruce is going to trust me after that?”  And Damian hadn’t thought of that. Hadn’t thought of not trusting Tim, or forgiving him, for even a second.  He is not a fool. He does not think that Tim has spent six years lounging around like a prince in a castle, living in luxury.  That Tim spent six years there and kept his hands clean.  He pretends he does not feel like he’s begging.  “That does not mean you have to leave.”

the time it takes to get from the sentence to the response creates the feeling of the pause even though it's not written anywhere that there is a pause. It just feels like there was a pause while he processed that, and the dialogue is emphasized because of that. Honestly, this is probably the most common thing I do in editing. This actually might not be a common writing tip but I find it works for me and I already wrote all this out and I couldn't think of any common writing tips lol

I also don't love the whole 'the older one' 'the younger one' etc. thing, but that's more of a general writing pet peeve than in smut specifically. (It doesn't bother me if it's intentional and like. a kink that someone is leaning into? But it does bother me when it's clear that someone just didn't want to use names again)

But if it doesn't work out right away he bails on the idea, and then he just never fucking tells anyone because he doesn't want it to be another thing added to the list of what he's not good enough for. (pardon me choosing violence with this I'm just in that mode apparently lmao)

30.) Funniest scene they had?: Oh man. Angel has had so many golden moments??? But what we were just talking about the other day, all that shit with the Swole Boys, is always going to be some top-tier shit. Like it just doesn't get better than that lmao

23.) Future headcanon: They way I know that the money from the end of the season is going to push the restaurant into a new era. And it's going to be great. And things are going to be going well. But I think that Carmy is going to get so wrapped up in all of that, that all of his trauma and all of that is going to get put on the backburner all over again. Because he's going to think that he's going to be fine because other things are fine. And that's not going to be the case. Like obviously there is still going to be chaos in the restaurant because it's a fucking restaurant but I really can't wait to get deeper into all the shit with Carmy and his brother. I can't wait to watch him rip those old scars open RAHHHHHH I'm losing my mind.

26.) When do you think they were being themselves the most?: I feel like his dynamic with Richie is really and truly what brings out some of the realest Carmy. Like not necessarily when they're screaming at each other (but that too) but also just. The jokes and the banter and the snark and the laughs. Like fuck, man, those two knew each other before all of the grief and they still have each other now and I think that's about as real as it gets.

5.) My favorite ship of them?: I've been thinking a lot about what kind of OC I would put with him. (Because I have...ideas. Like the way I'm lowkey waiting for Whumptober to be over so I can invest more of my brainspace into my Thoughts about him and this mystery OC in my head). But he can't be with someone that's a pushover. Which I feel like putting him with someone soft and all that is a nice thought but he's got some bite and I think he needs to be with someone who can match that. Someone funny, and witty, and definitely someone with their own damage. He can't be with someone who is going into the relationship with the intent to "fix him" because that's gonna drive them to an early grave. He needs someone who is kind and loving but will also call him out on his bullshit because he gets so far into his own head and up his own ass sometimes that he gets lost. He needs someone who is going to pull him out of that. The way I'm rotating through careers in my head trying to see which one fits for a potential partner for him. Someone in the restaurant business, maybe, because they'd have that in common. But I also think that if his partner was someone in a completely different field, he could learn a lot from them and I think that he would appreciate that a lot too. Fuck me I've rambled for so long I'm so sorry 😂😂

I hope you don't mind me going a bit ranty here, but I have Feelings about the absolute clusterfuck that is season seven, and your tags encapsulate pretty much all of it in two lines

ok, so my big issue with season seven is that the show forgot who its main characters were. six seasons of Charmed under their belt and suddenly they're sidelining the Charmed Ones in their own damn show. in what, for as far as they knew for the entire freaking season, was the last damn season of the show because if I remember my writers' strike history correctly, not only did they have a shorter season, but they didn't even know until after they'd wrapped season seven that they were getting a season eight. so the season seven finale was meant to be The Finale. their "walking off into the sunset" moment. and yet, knowing that they were likely headed for tv oblivion, the writers and producers and everyone still decided that they didn't actually need to focus on the Charmed Ones at all during the entire freaking season.

when they wrote season seven, they didn't write it for the Charmed Ones.

it doesn't start with the start of season seven, though. instead, it starts with the last two episodes of season six. in any season, the main focus should be the lead characters, but nowhere moreso than the season premieres and finales. and the season six finale failed HARD.

the last half of season six had been building toward one goal: the Charmed Ones finding and vanquishing whoever or whatever was going to turn Wyatt evil. and yeah Piper was sidelined because she was in labor but we still had two sisters who loved their nephew and were ready to rip a bitch to pieces for daring to hurt him. and it was the finale. the final vanquish of their final enemy should have been theirs. but instead, the finale focused on Leo's betrayal by Gideon, and Leo's grief over losing Chris, and Leo's rage over Wyatt being in danger, and it was like Charmed Ones, who? we had a scene with four Charmed Ones from two different universes all combining their magic, and they barely dented Gideon. instead, Leo gets the big vanquish.

and then season seven just makes things worse. Leo's the focus because the Elders are pissed he killed another Elder. Leo's the focus because he's got green floating heads haunting him and making him relieve Chris's death (Piper's trauma, what?). Leo's the focus because he's turning into an Avatar. Leo's the focus because he's the key to creating the Utopia...etc, etc. And when it's not Leo, it's Kyle, with a vendetta against the Avatars. and it's the Avatars themselves, trying to brainwash the planet for reasons they never bothered to actually explain. and then after the Avatars, it's Zankou filling a void in the Underworld. and even Drake for his three episodes. All of them driving the action of the season while Piper, Phoebe, and Paige run around reacting to it. everything that happened in the season, the Charmed Ones were never the ones who made it happen. they watched someone else make things happen and then they got pulled in.

and that's why Piper couldn't just freeze the bullet from Kyle's gun. because that wasn't her moment, would never be her moment. it was Leo's moment and Leo's battle and therefore Leo got to be the one to deal with Kyle while Piper stood uselessly on the sidelines.

(there might be more ranting later if you don't mind. it's just very late here and I'm very tired and I hate this season so very much.)

yeah fr like. i really like s6 because i feel like it balances all the character's narrative quite well what with paige and her temp job spins side quests and piper and motherhood enhanced by chris and phoebe had her nice balance with the column that i think is really best done in s6 and then she goes baby crazy which was messy but you know a bitch can't win em all and chris was a nice balance he offset their energies by being new blood all that but like. each sister kind of had her own path + the collective path they shared. s7 had..... not that. paige had magic school for like?? episodes? like three? but no in order. which could have been So much esp being adopted and raised away from her family and magical bloodline but nope. piper had. the pleo divorce era?? i think? i think that was her main plot point her marriage to leo. phoebe had. god phoebe had sabbatical to go find herself i don't remember what she did to go find herself i remember there was leslie st claire who taught her to love again and then there was drake de mon who taught her to love again and there might have been a third brunet man who taught her to love again but like idk it's all quite fuzzy. because like. it so was not their season. the sisters did not have their own individual conflicts to stand on, nor was there really a collective plot to unite them because the avatar shit was so flimsy that to use the word "unite" is just too generous. they pulled together better for zankou but i really don't remember it that well like. zankou was a great villain but god what were The Charmed Ones leads of the WB's hit tv show Charmed up to in their own damn show?? it was like here's leo and his manpain he's so sad he lost chris </3 as if everyone else didn't Also lose chris more specifcally His Mother who is now like. single mom twiceover bc leo what is he and elder is he an avatar is he crazy who knows all piper knows is she died when chris was young so he didn't want to get close to her but he did so she can't go and die on him again right does that weigh on her at all no it doesn't oh okay. cool. and then of course kyle who again. great anithero material promoted to full on hero bc we can't so nuance aaaaaaa. and like. well. you know. he's insane he's crazy he'll do anything to see this plan through he'll kill anybody if that's what it takes he will take a crystal from a demon and infect his girlfriend with paranoia and this is all normal <3 which like. i'm not saying this is bad characterization. it's very interesting actually!! but the show doesn't treat it as interesting it treats it as normal. and, for the record, i hate the s7 endign as the permanent finale for the show because it ends with them literally walking away from their legacy and the craft and raising their kids in anonymity like deadass those kids can't even be wyatt & chris halliwell anymore because the girls aren't even charmed any more. so honestly thank god there was a season 8
