There’s a lot to unpack here…..

It was nice seeing Persephone and Demeter finally reunite after all this time, but it’s really fucked up how persephone forgot about her mom for 2-3days???

I know some ppl were upset about Demeter’s reaction to seeing Hades and persephone together, but keep in mind she’s been out of the loop and has no idea why her daughter is in the underworld in the first place

Demeter giving persephone praise for her work in the underworld was sweet. She’s proud of her daughter and shows recognition with her accomplishments…however, not once does persephone ask about Demeter’s experience

She doesn’t show any curiosity about what her mother went through in the past 10yrs. How it affected her, if she struggled, how she adjusted to aging and being powerless….

Hades being scared shitless says a lot. This isn’t a man who had any intentions of owning up to treating her like shit in the past. This is a man who’s scared about having his “girlfriend” taken away to the mortal realm.

Ppl applauding hades for staying silent the whole time need to shut up. That was the bare minimum, the bar is in hell I tell u. He’s supposed to shut the hell up and let persephone talk to her mom.

Also him dropping the tea and his eye turning red?? What a drama king calm the fuck down.

Persephone doesn’t bother to explain everything that happened or why she’s in the underworld in the first place. Only that’s she’s “in love” or whatever. Battle with Kronos?? Nope, that everyone was in a coma?? Nope, that she abandoned her responsibilities to the mortal realm and left the flower nymphs to fend for themselves of Zeus came back and saw her gone??? Nope.

She doesn’t bother to tell her mother the anything from the time of her trial to now, ppl liked this bc they believed it was her setting healthy boundaries.

When really she was being mad vague, not bothering to explain anything, she should’ve told her mom she ate the pomegranate at the beginning. That way Demeter would know even if she wanted to go to the mortal realm, persephone is still tied to the underworld.

Instead Persephone is dismissive of her mothers feelings and concerns, while defending a man she only knew for a month or two and after 10 mcfucking years decides she still “in love” with him and wants to stay with him even though They still barely know each other. And haven’t caught up on anything.

Finally the good part:

Demeter calling out Hades

Idc what anyone says Demeter is 100% right.

Part of this is bc of her perspective of hades from how he treated her. And throughout the comic we see him mistreat lower class citizens and his own employees. He knew lusting after persephone was wrong but perused her anyway whilst in a relationship. With a woman he almost proposed to!

He can’t go five seconds without overly sexualizing her, white knights himself constantly, self deprecating himself constantly, pressured persephone into telling him she was assaulted, got so mad she had to comfort him. Made her experience about him by saying he felt useless to her.

Took out a man’s eyeball without her consent, called her a hypocrite for “tarnishing his representation”! For what? Giving coins to shades who didn’t have any?!!!

Lied to her face about being in a relationship, had an affair with his brother’s wife, and of course the fact that he’s her boss and the uncomfortable power dynamic between them, he’d constantly dismissing persephone when she brings this up. Stating he can’t always do whatever he wants when he can!!! He’s a fucking king! That’s the problem!

A lot of ppl mistook Demeter saying “ perhaps you intend to keep her like one of your Diamonds—sparking and useless”

Demeter DOES NOT SEE Persephone as useless. She’s has her daughter assist her with the mortal realm. Gave her jobs to do and kept her busy with school.

She does however see the way has been treated by Zeus. And fears the same fate will befall her daughter if she’s with Hades.

Hera is dismissed, gaslit, belittled, and cheated on constantly. Her husband doesn’t take her seriously and pushes her opinions and concerns to the side. He only say saw her as a beautiful trophy to have and put on display, bribed her to be queen of the gods.

Yet she’s a depressed alcoholic who feels she’s less than and is down on herself.

Hades also is far too reliant on persephone for emotional support,he sees her as his happiness, as savior, which is unhealthy and toxic. A 2000 yr old gos should not be relying on a young woman this way. Especially someone as young as persephone.

Demeter’s concerns are valid, the points she made are valid. She’s looking out for her daughter as a mom should. And I’m proud of her, I knew she was gonna get demonized for this bc that’s just how LO is.

Persephone is 30yrs old, but just bc you’re an adult doesn’t mean ppl can’t express their thoughts on your relationships and well being especially if they’re family members

Anyway it’s clear to see this is how the 6months of time is going to come into play.

Also I’m happy for minthe and that she’s living her best life

Now that mid ‘80s to early aughts television is coming back in style (ie. Fuller House, That 90s Show, Quantum Leap, How I Met Your Father, Frasier, iCarly, and Night Court) there are a few things I want to talk about.

One:

The new Night Court airs in a week and I couldn’t be more excited. There are only a couple things I want for the show; I want Abby (Harry’s daughter for those who didn’t know), to wear glasses (sometimes) like Harry, know at least some basic card tricks/slight of hand, either absolutely love or absolutely despise Mel Tormé (there shall be no in between) and last but not least, she has the big gavel. Gonna be honest, if at least one of those things happens, I’ll be satisfied, I wouldn’t even care if they didn’t tell us who the mother is. We know it’s not Christine.

Two:

I have a lot of issues with the new Quantum Leap, even though it’s hard for me to be mad at the show because it’s created by the same person (Bellisario). While I don’t mind the show being modernized for a modern audience, I could care less about the people who actually work at Project Quantum Leap, other than Sam and the observer (Al). The original series followed the “[x] of the week” format, meaning that each week would be a new thing to fight/problem to solve, with last week’s episode rarely ever mentioned, unless it is significant to the plot or there is a overarching plot (ie. X-Files). Half of each episode is taken up by this overarching season plot. I want to see the leap, not the people behind it. The new series tries to be a new show and season six at the same time and it’s giving me whiplash going back and forth between the two. I understand how a overarching plot would be necessary to explain why there is a new leaper. But I don’t care that there is a new leaper. This makes the show difficult to watch on both ends. As a returning fan, I want to see a man in new situations not knowing what to do with the help of a zany guide. As a new viewer, all of this non-leaping content is confusing/annoying to me because non of this was in the original. And as a new viewer, I do not want to have to watch five seasons of something else to understand what is going on. It would have been much better off if it wasn’t a revival. The original series premiere was a two hour pilot, TWO HOURS. I wanted two hours with the revival. Instead, I got exposition galore with hardly any leap action. When they went on their mid season break I assumed that there were talks of cancellation. Unless they can redeem themselves and finish the overarching plot by the end of season one, I do not care if it gets cancelled. I don’t think NBC had high hopes for it in the first place since the original series jumped from Sunday, to Friday, to Wednesday, and back to Friday during the first four seasons, with the fifth and final season airing at the coveted Tuesday night slot at 8 p.m. and the revival airs on Monday. One last thing, I absolutely HATE how Ben and I-can’t-be-bothered-to-remember-her-name are engaged. To quote Gordon Ramsay, fucking disgusting. If you wanted to have a romantic relationship between the leaper and the observer, have them fall in love over the course of the leaps. That would have been a better overarching plot than whatever they got going on with Al’s daughter. Or just make them best fucking friends that are inseparable, like Sam and Al. Oh, and one more last thing, WHERE IS SAMANTHA JO FULLER??? She wouldn’t have just quit, so where is she? Also the new set design is ugly.

Three:

Speaking of a two hour pilot. Night Court is getting a one hour pilot. ONE HOUR, THE HALF HOUR SITCOM IS GETTING A HOUR PILOT WHILE THE HOUR DRAMEDY GOT A SAD LITTLE HOUR PLOT THAT SOMEHOW TOLD US EVERYTHING AND NOTHING AT THE SAME TIME. Why the new Quantum Leap didn’t have a two hour pilot to get all of the exposition out of the way is a question I’ll never be able to answer. Quantum Leap and Night Court are airing in the same network season, as well as their originals. They even aired on the same nights sometimes. Tuesday and the same night as well. I’m really close to spreadsheet territory, so I’ll be brief. NBC has higher expectations for Night Court than Quantum Leap, which you can see just by their scheduling. I don’t think having Quantum Leap air before America’s Got Talent is helping ratings much.

Four:

I was gonna have a “in conclusion here” but I don’t know what else I can say, other than reboot era is upon us and I’m here for it. Both Night Court (NBC) and That 90s Show (Netflix) air next week and you should definitely watch them, and please do let me know your thoughts on both.

I know more about Night Court than That 70s Show, but if somehow all of the advertisements have missed you, I’ll sum them up for you and where the new series starts off.

Night Court

At the start of the show, main character, Harold T. “Harry” Stone is appointed municipal court judge. He is described as an “oddball judge” as being one to pull pranks and preform magic tricks in and out of the courtroom. The series follows him and his ever changing cast of court members, with Bull Shannon and Dan Fielding being the only other two characters who stayed for the entire run of the show. Dan Fielding grew up a farm boy and became a womanizer and would do anything to make a quick buck. The new series follows Abby Stone, the daughter of Harry, following her father’s footsteps and becoming a municipal court judge. Dan Fielding is back in the courtroom as well, but this time instead of a district attorney, he is a public defender. It is unclear if he is still a womanizer or if he has settled down at all.

That 70s Show 

The series starts off in Wisconsin in the 70s. It shows the lives of teens trying to make their way in the ever changing world. The main character is Eric Forman, a nerdy teen who is in love with the girl next door, Donna Pinciotti. Eric and Donna date for most of he show but break up towards the end. Eric is absent for most of the eighth and final season because he went off to teach in Africa. He comes back at the end and he and Donna rekindle their relationship. We’re now in 1990s Wisconsin and the daughter of Eric and Donna, Leia, is spending the summer at her grandparents. The new series will follow her and her friends attempts to make it through love and life.

and just to kinda share where my head's at, my muse for kny hasn't been very high lately, so i'm thinking of changing my muse list in a way that reflects that. i just!! haven't figured out how exactly. i might categorize the lists by fandom and then by primary, secondary, and tertiary/request. i just want to show that my focus is on chiyo/modern muses, fantasy, and even s.piderverse stuff atm but without shoving all my other muses off the list or into the request category. i can definitely still write everybody!! the muse just isn't there like it used to be.

this doesn't affect many people here, but i may also edit chiyo's bio to make her fandomless again; i just don't interact with hq!! muses very often anymore, and her story isn't one that necessarily needs to be connected to hq!! to work.

Anon with the "GW not bad for Faerghus" ask. I couldn't read your full response bc your other blog is private but yes, there are people who say that the Kingdom is not in a bad position. Mostly those who think Claude's "scheme" will force Edelgard to end the war bc he could ally with the "still strong" Kingdom to crush her if she didn't, and that GW is some kind of "golden ending" for the three nations. Some even argue that Claude freed Faerghus/Dimitri from the Church's chains - or whatever.

I don't know if you saw my post where I mentioned you should be able to read it now, but if you didn't you should still be able to. I think I switched off the setting for that because I didn't realize it would prevent you from seeing the whole ask. :o

That's wild to hear though that people think the Kingdom isn’t in a bad position. They've lost a lot of military power regardless of whether or not they lose influence. Like I mentioned in the previous ask, it's basically up to Claude whether or not they retain their influence (regardless of what Petra wants in GW or what she thinks she knows about Fodlan lol). If they do, they still have no military might. If Sreng invades they're fucked if Claude doesn't treat them like a vassal state of Leicester and help them under the pretext that Faerghus is now part of Leicester.

In other words, they’re at best a vassal state and otherwise left alone, and at worst they’re left to rot.

Technically, Claude could try to get them to help him fight against the Empire, sure, but they won’t have the military might to help him very much, and like I mentioned in the last ask, the chances of it working are slim. Gautier won’t help and I can say that with pretty much full certainty, and if Gautier won’t help then Fraldarius probably won’t either (remember, it’s Felix who makes the final decisions now and not Rodrigue, so if Felix sees Sylvain is still upset about his father and won’t help the Alliance because of what they did, Felix won’t help them either. Felix is extremely emotional about his friends - especially his childhood friends. If you fuck with them then he’s going to fuck with you).

So now, Claude can either decide to try to force them to help, which would invoke another fight between him and Faerghus and cause more deaths, or he’ll just have to accept that he’s not getting help/a lot of help from Faerghus (I detailed it more in the other ask, so hopefully you can access the rest of it now!).

Post GW, Faerghus won’t be helping anyone in a war, I can tell you that. It’d take everything they had to keep Sreng out and to fix any damages from the Alliance’s attack. Even if Claude called on them, they just... couldn’t help.

Unfortunately even in GW they imply that Dimitri is “freed” of the Church, so of course most people take that at face value and don’t look any deeper than what’s told to them. Dimitri isn’t really free or not free of the Church. He was never in a situation where he was being controlled by them. They’re on friendly terms, but that’s really it. Rhea doesn’t tell Dimitri what to do or how to run Faerghus. It’s just that the people there are very devout because of their good relations with the Church and because Rhea helps Faerghus when they need help. It’s give and take for them just like any political situation. Faerghus isn’t in a bad position because they’re around. They’ve only really benefitted from the Church if anything, because Rhea doesn’t personally involve herself with their political decisions.

The whole “we have to free Dimitri from them” thing sounded more to me like Claude needing to find something “good” to hang onto to excuse himself for making those choices. As it was he was grasping at straws to justify their invasion to begin with. He already didn’t have a good pretext for attacking them. Saying “we’re freeing you” is like... his lowkey way of saying he needs to make himself feel better about it, because Dimitri didn’t need his or anyone’s help to begin with. If they were left alone, Faerghus would’ve been fine. Edelgard in GW is struggling on both sides of the war, so if Faerghus hadn’t been attacked by the Alliance, I can guarantee the Empire would’ve just lost.

Really, if Claude teamed up with the Kingdom in the first place and took down the Empire, they would’ve spared themselves more lives and bloodshed in the long run. Claude caused even more battles to happen and got more innocent people killed. I think by the end of the game he did figure out that he made the wrong decisions, but by then it was too late and he couldn’t take back what he did so he needed to find ways to justify all of it to himself.

I just wish they actually came out and said that though instead of running around it in circles while trying to make us believe he actually believes that the Kingdom was just better off without the Church. They weren’t doing badly with the Church involved or not involved. It was the invasion that hurt them. If Claude skipped around Fhirdiad and killed Rhea, regardless of plot or context or anything, just like, imagine he didn’t invade Faerghus and they just passed through and killed Rhea, then Faerghus’ situation might get a little more complicated for inheritance, but I think just with Dimitri’s temperament that they’d be able to stave off any legitimacy issues pretty quick. That is, people liked him in power so the populace would still be in favor of having him as king whether the Church was there or not. Rodrigue was well liked, so he’d be a perfect public figure to calm down any potential anxiety and worry with the loss of the Church. They could’ve actually made it without the Church, but it was mostly the invasion that really hurt the country and dug them into a hole for the future.

ok. doing Much better now. cayennes fosters came over to help me figure out what to do (they are so nice i appreciate them So much) and one of them works in construction so he had a lil tubey camera so we could figure out where the hole leads. did lots of investigating and!!! we found her!!! shes still in the wall rn but shes Alive and still here. we cut a part of the wall to make an easier path for her bc w the way the wall is they think it was hard for ber to figure out how to get back in. we set food in the hole and also set a live trap with More food just outside the hole and are gonna see if she will come eat and we can catch her. if shes not out bt tomorrow evening we are gonna cut more holes closer to her and get her out one way or another
