The last post I reblogged sent me on a spiral so here's how all the LADS LIs are nerds.

Zayne: He's a surgeon, that went through med school. Next.

Jk. Definitely the kinda guy to tell you random facts about the body, forgetting how gross some of them are and getting really embarrassed when his medical nerd talk puts you off your dinner. Loves explaining things whether it's his job or weird things about the human body. Tbh if he wasn't a doctor he'd probs be a teacher. Also ik it's his job but the lab coat SCREAMS nerd.

Caleb: military pilot with gravity powers, NERD. His fave subjects in school were probably physics and maths. Can name pretty much any aircraft at a glance and will yap to you about physics theories and the inner working of his favourite planes if you let him.

Everybody except those closest to him thinks he's just smart and cool but MC, Zayne and Gideon know that he's a chronic nerd that shows his affection by yapping at you about how cool planes are.

Rafayel: Art nerd. Now I don't think he'd care much about human art history overall, although I do feel he'd have a soft spot for the likes of Impressionism. But he's a nerd about the craft, the materials. He canonically creates his own pigments from seashells and such (which as a fellow art nerd I find so cool) but I personally believe he's probably experimented with trying to get natural pigments from all sorts of things.

This man is a colour theory girlie and he will ramble on to anyone about specific pigments and how he's aiming to achieve them. Thomas can pretty much rattle off the way he works by memory and sometimes finds himself looking at different things and wondering if that will give Rafayel the shade he's looking for. He low-key hates it but he tells himself it's for the good of the exhibitions and the art scene at the end of the day.

Sylus: Now I know we all joke that he's an old man but personally I think he's both a music and tech nerd. Like every person who knows about technology only trusts it so much (Catch him hating how much AI junk is infecting our lives ATM) plus Mephisto exists, like I think his tech parts are Sylus' doing. He's also a nerd about weapons and mostly collects them for fun only having a few that he actually uses for combat while overall preferring to use his fists and his evol.

Now he can't play music to save his life but he has the best audio systems money can buy, he has several record players, some vintage, some modern and he collects all sorts of vintage music paraphernalia. (Catch him having one of Eddie Van Halen's guitars on display). He canonically likes the Beatles (there's a pile of records as a decoration for his room on one of them is labeled Beatles) so I think he'd be a classic rock fan (Fits his vibe) but he still enjoys classical and opera

Xavier: Now Xavier is the only one who I don't think is a nerd. He's worse. This man is a gamer. From old school Nintendo to the newest VR releases he's played a good mix of everything. Personally I feel like he leans towards cozy games, has the cutest animal crossing island and the most impressive farm on stardew valley. Has definitely made himself and MC in the Sims (and then made Charlie and removed the ladder while he was in the pool). But he's also a god at the likes of the Bloodborne series. If he's feeling particularly jealous or pent up a few rounds of bashing bosses on Elden Ring will make him feel better. Also don't try playing a fighting game with him, he'll wreck you at Street Fighter.

Oooh, this is a hard one. I would say ESO is still very important for me, Elden Ring was an incredible journey worthy of the Dark Souls series, but I will never stop stanning Zanzarah: The Hidden Portal, because it was my first game

Just as it comes money-wise? I would love to immediately become an owner of one of those mega corporations like Amazon with all necessary transfer and paperwork done. I am easily tempted by the One Ring to try and wield it for greater good, you see

What is their routine or methods? -We're in Barovia, what's a hygiene lmao /j -Everyone says that Saer'llith reminds them of a cat so he probably behaves like one in terms of cleaning himself. -Loves a good bath, sinks into the water like his life depends on it. -Would put a rubber duck there. Or Escher. -Never had enough shower products in the Underdark so when in Baldur's Gate, he'd just buy the whole stock. -Would also buy shimmering bath salt, not caring about the fact that he already shimmers in the dark because of his white freckles. A drama queen at his best.

2. Would OC commit tax evasion? -We've already committed it by entering Vallaki tbh. -Would do that again. -Only to irritate Strahd (and Vasili). -"Money? No, I don't have any :D"

What would OC's gamertag/username be? -Would either go for something simple or the most dramatic one you can find in the whole Internet. -Others would still call him nothing but Saira (rus for Saury fish). -Would always have the "Don't bother" sign in Discord and other social media. -No one would care and would write them 24/7. -Is somehow good at playing RPGs, would easily beat Dark Souls series or Elden ring but never a simple UNO game. -His own autocorrect hates his name so you get something like Safety'line Deer. Would others assign them the same color? -Dusty violet, pale red, white and black are totally his colours. -/insert Lex's joke about everyone being colourful bastards and him being just plain grey/ -Others in Barovia would just think that he's a dusk elf and not a drow and would call him "Oi, black elf!"...Despire him being slightly violet and having like 6 ears.

6. Does OC dress Modestly? Skimpy? Classy? etc. Do they have a dynamic, loud, quiet, etc. style? What textures are part of OC's clothes? Fluffy? Spiky? Leathery? Puffy? Feathery? What about shiny, silky, lacy, etc.? -Eh, it's more of a quiet classy style. He prefers to wear a white puffy-sleeved shirt tucked into black leather corset. Sometimes a coat over the shoulders. -But oh boy if he sees something shiny- Probably has little chains over his boots, chained earring, silver rings on his middle fingers and other trinkets that he collects for exactly zero reason and purpose. -Has a white crescent tattoo on his chest under the clothes. No one knows probably hehe. -Dinner!Saer'llith would have an awfully dramatic shirt with red beads stitched onto it to look like blood. Escher would probably be the one to offer him this.

7. Would OC be a JJBA character? -I had to google what this is. Ah yes, Jojo. -nO? I am bad at anime lmao, I have no idea about the plot whatsoever. -But his stand would totally be Lychdrow Dyrr.

If others wanted to join a cult devoted to OC, what choices would OC (or you) have in the style, theme, design? -First - he would hate it. >:D -Second - little crescent piercing over the right brow would totally be a symbol. Do you make up new words as we go or something?.." -Totally cannot play any musical instrument or sing..or dance. I doubt the Underdark had any of these, especially where he was imprisoned for like a hundred years. -Escher would make him learn the organ or a lyre. He wouldn't be able to say no. -We stan bard!Escher in this house.

12. What sounds does OC enjoy? If OC likes ASMR, which types of ASMR? -They enjoy running water, wind in the forest, crackling of a fire. Genuinely every sound that he's never heard before while in the Underdark. Everything fascinates him but he doesn't like to show much of these emotions on his face. -But not any voice ASMR, absolutely nope. Not even when someone whispers in his ears.

13. Is OC promiscuous? Do they have a lot of lovers, partners, and/or friends with benefits? -He's demiromantic asexual that leans more into aromantic spectrum. -He absolutely doesn't have any lovers or partners and it is difficult for him to form a relationship with anyone in general. -Though ever since he escaped Menzoberranzan one of his true wishes was to find his "Home". And that word alone does not mean a single place. He was looking for a person, someone he can finally be safe with. -And oh boy how painful it was for him to understand that his heart beats twice not only for some god forsaken human, but for a vampire who threatened them and the whole Vallaki at some point. -He still has hard time understanding himself honestly. -Bonus points!: [baldur's gate AU] where Escher actually died during the last battle with Strahd and the Emperor chose Escher's appearance to come into Saer'llith's dreams. The latter one hated it with all his heart but wished for nothing but to have another dream where he can see his Home.

14. What do you love about OC? What events, art, work do you love to put OC in? -I honestly created him randomly at some point of time. I just desperately wanted to play as a drow (and let me say that I've never played dnd before the CoS campaign we're having now). So 30 minutes in Wikipedia, House Agrach Dyrr and you have a Lychheir Wild Magic Sorcerer. -Love skribbling him on a piece of paper. Especially his 6 ears. No one can draw them properly lmao. Just imagine an axolotl and here you go. Why does he have 6? No one knows..apart from the Abbot apparently, do not ask. -He technically has a predcessor OC from another fandom that I never got to roleplay as so they were left as a rough idea. Their name was Xie Hentian (a scorpio who hates the skies, this is a translation of his current name atp), a MDZS character, Jin Guangshan's blind concubine (not by their choice), later a merciful demon who seeks for a Home. You get the idea. -But apart from this information you won't see Saer'llith in any other fandom other than DnD.

15. Why don't some people like OC? What did they do? -The fact that they're a drow is enough for like half of the Faerun population honestly. -That's why he hates this half of the population back. -In the Underdark the other drow were afraid of him (and hated him altogether) solely because of his lych powers as a sorcerer. -Yeah, you heard that right. His existence was enough for them to hate him. -mrdr

16 Is OC cursed? Haunted? Possessed? Fated to tragedy? -Again to the Lychdrow we go. If you google who that is, you'll probably know how powerful this guy was and that he's like...dead. The very day he died, a part of his soul merged with Saer'llith's, giving him his powers. -After that he literally has to supress this dark part of his soul, otherwise it can escape and make him its puppet. -If entering Barovia counts as a curse cuz we're playing Curse of Strahd then yes, he's cursed twice lmao

17. What tragic/dark events, art, work, do you love (or love to hate) to put OC in? -Again, that one Baldur's gate AU is the thing that makes me a mess. Especially when we consider the fact that I also befriended Astarion and killed Cazador. Like. If Saer'llith had a nickel every time he got stuck with a vampire and kill their master, he would have two nickels. That isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice. -He would also refuse to tell his companions about any of his time in Barovia. -At some point he would make a fake grave near Daggerfort and write Escher's name on it. Once a year he would come there, sit silently for all night and go back to the camp in the morning. Astarion wanted to ask a few times but never had enough strength to do it. -Also ever since his return from Barovia, he would never take his blindfold off. No, he doesn't need it at all, he's used to the sunlight already, but he wears it as a sign that he'll never open up to anyone anymore. Escher was his only Home.

Should I get God of War Ragnarok on sale?

Should I get God of War Ragnarok on sale? Hello, and yes, I understand how silly this question is, the “Should I get this GOTY?”, but please hear me out.I bought a lot of games in this YE sale. With my work, kids and such, I pretty much bulked my backlog all the way to the next Christmas. Thing is, I still have some budget left and GOW Ragnarok is quite cheaper than the usual price. I was thinking about buying it, but there is a nagging thing on the back of my head: I was not a huge fan of the 2018 game.My wife bought me the game last April (yes, I have that little time to play). I was a huge fan of the OG Greek saga, God of War 3 was the most anticipated game of my life and I spent a lot of money going on a game rent house to finish it. I was…whelmed with the 2018 rebootish. Took me a while to get used to Old Krator but the combat took even longer. I was a gigantic fan of the frenetic, roll party, hectic combat of the OG and I’m still not exactly in love with the new, slower combat. Now, do I hate the game? No. The moments I pick it up to play, I like it. I like how witty Arteus is, I like the universe and all the characters other than Old Kratos. I saw some spoilers on Mimir and I cannot wait to meet the lad. But the game never catches me on a fever. I just play, like it in the moment, but then I stop 3 weeks because of work and then Mass Effect, Dragon Age, any RPG or even Resident Evil catches my attention and I forget the game for months. I’m still in the tail end of the Dark Elves realm, like, really early. Again, I don’t find the game bad, I’m just anxious to spend money on something I may find OK at best. Maybe I just need to hold down the ADHD and focus on it? I don’t know. I must confess I flirted with Elden Ring, but I know the game isn’t for me (Dark Souls kicked my butt when I was far less casual than I am now and I know how I like my RPGs, with a lot of dialogue exposition and neaty maps guiding me like a sheep from point A to point B. I’m old enough to know I will hate getting lost like a child and that I love having my hand held like a child, hence why I love(d?) the BioWare games). Concord spent 8 years in development. So, it started in 2016, which would have been the time to put out a new utterly mid hero shooter stuffed with live-service garbage that everyone was destined to hate the moment they stopped being 15.

I'm not going to ask why it took nearly a decade to rip off this one game everyone else has been remaking for the last 10 years. Shit happens. But why didn't anyone pull the plug on this 3+ years ago?

Of course Redfall, another game obviously from 2017, came out last year too, and has gone about as well.

Anthem was in the sweet spot and it didn't work. The writing was on the wall then. These business guys are supposed to be good at realizing when shit is going off a cliff, and yet it seems to take them more than a decade to get the hint.

And inb4 those of you who love being fleeced by shit Fortnite clones and are mad that they didn't give Concord a chance - it never had a chance, and you like crap games and are bad at money. Being upset is your punishment for turning the AAA market into a garbage disposal that eats money and turns it into forgettable neon sludge. You are bad people.

Do more clones of Elden Ring I won't play. Other people seem to like those, for...whatever reasons.

You don't want to turn into Ubisoft, putting out the same 15 yo game no one likes with new graphics over and over again, and then acting shocked and yelling at fans when no one buys it.

4. Elden Ring highschool au fanfiction. Miquella is well aware hes too young for Mohg but he's a spoiled rich kid who wants to wreck the family reputation as much as he wants to piss off his dad via fucking his 30 yo halfbrother.

5. Modern au of the option directly below this one. Coffee shop barista x mob boss/sex shop owner situationship. aka Sad wet sock X just the worst guy ever.

6. Everything bad happens to Esti always but tbh being a prisoner of war isn't that bad. He gets to stay in his bedroom (he's not allowed to leave) and talk strategy (if he fucks up he will suffer for it.) with his mentor (the guy who is the source of 80% of his problems) between bouts of sex that border on physical abuse (Pavo refuses to stop being mad at him for something that wasn't Esti's fault and doesn't know how else to handle his own emotions vee sivi his feeling like the only person he's ever loved has betrayed him for the benefit of his enemies.)

7. tbh it's what it says on the tin. A princess and her coterie of witches go on a quest to eat god since their god is refusing to help in a looming war while still expecting the princess to sacrifice herself to it.

8. Man goes to a masquerade ball that's been thrown to find the lady of the night a suitable husband and succeeds at her test (finding her amongst the party goers despite her swapping outfits/masks with a friend). Only to realize his face blindness is so extreme he did not recognize the man he's been sleeping with and getting into fights on behalf of for several months until the man who is the lady of the night reintroduces himself. And then sets him on the suitor his parents want him to marry instead because fuck being some randos wife. If he has to get married he's choosing the hot guy who is down to full body tackle people when he tells him too.

9. Retired super soldier doesn't know how else to make his fake married husband want to spend time with him and is just making up excuses to always be within a few feet of him. bc while they are fake married, the retired super soldiers crush is extremely real.

10. Intern on a voyage to an alien ocean accidentally catches the fancy of one of the giant alien mermaids. The giant alien mermaid refuses to cooperate with being studied by anyone else and is also the only of his kind who is willing to get close enough to be poked at. He mostly shows displeasure via biting and sinking boats. The intern is really trying his best to keep everything under control without having to sign the 8 new liability wavers corporate left for him as a "just in case you're you know, willing to do, ahem, additional experiments the subject may not be... cooperative during should anyone else attempt it... We need samples, you see."

11. Dream monster made a guy hallucinate that he could fly. the monster literally said sorry so he doesn't know what the guys beef is. Just relax and come play pretend with him to get over it.
